If your anything like me you might have procrastinated getting the yearly state inspection. My car is 10 years old now and I was totally stressing over it passing. My dad told me to find a place that only does inspections. I went to yelp and find this little gem pretty close to where I live. I walked in and I was promptly greeted even though they were super busy. One of the men run in from outside and helped me. I took a seat thinking it would be a wile because the waiting area was packed. The two men that worked there were literally running from car to car doing the inspections. There were only two workers (I'm guessing they might be brothers) and they were hustling. People kept flooding in and somehow they managed to help those that walked in but still keep inspecting cars at a killer speed. My windshield wipers were broken and I needed coolant. The guy told me I didn't have to get it there to pass but I just let him do it because he only charged me $15 for two wipers and I pay more then that at auto zone. From walking in to check out it was less then 20 minutes and they were super helpful and friendly. Don't get me wrong there isn't any extra special customer service just an honest job done fair and quickly. The waiting area was also extremely clean and they had comfy chairs. I highly recommend checking this place out! They not only so state inspections but also the 31 point inspection if you are trying to be a driver for Uber or Lyft. read more

Are you looking for a no nonsense place that will inspect your vehicle in about 15 minutes and have you on your way? Let's face it, getting your vehicle inspected is a pain, especially when you take to it somewhere and the place tries to rip you off. You won't get that at Quix. This is exactly what you want, when it comes to car inspection joints. You want no-frills, in and out in 10 minutes, and guys that want to get your car inspected and out of there with no trouble. If you can find a place with "10 Minutes" painted on the side of the building (like this place does), so much the better. What you do not want is an inspection place attached to a repair shop. Why? You do not pass inspection till they say so, and some (read "all") of these creeps are shady, and will milk you for whatever $ they can get out of you. Been there, done that. But not good old Habib, or whatever his name was. He wants you in and out, and to cash in your state-mandated $32.50. I've been coming here since I first moved to Dallas and they are always great. They were really helpful with the transition from out-of-state to Texas registration and made it a relatively painless process. The guys here are always friendly and the service is always quick, even when I've had a few people in front of me. They also have different parts available (windshield wipers, for example) to bring your vehicle up to code if needed. The location is close to my job, so it's typically convenient for me to stop here. It's also worth the trip across town, even on days I'm not headed to work though, since there are so many shops and restaurants not that far away. read more

For what these guys do: State Inspections, it could not have been any easier or faster. My son is 16 now, and I was getting his "new" old car ready for him to start driving. Yes, go ahead and queue all the "clear the roads-teenager coming" comments. Hell, however he drives will not be any worse than what is already out there on Dallas roads that's for sure. Plus, he kind of has race driving blood in him since he's my son and I would classify myself as just about Nascar or Formula One quality driving material. Anyway, I digress. I arrived around 2 pm on a Monday and there was no wait. The inspection was performed quickly (under 20 minutes) and they did not overcharge or recommended unnecessary services. These guys are great! I needed a "31 point inspection" to get my Uber driver's City of Dallas car for hire permit. I was in and out of there in 10 minutes with all the proper paperwork filled out. And, they were the cheapest of all the City of Dallas' authorized "31 point" inspection stations! They charged just $50.00 compared to as much as $100.00 at other inspection stations. There's really not much to say about state inspections in Texas. Nobody likes them and we all know every year we have to take a lunch to go spend $40 on getting your emissions checked out on your ride. I doubt it's something anyone looks forward to, other than maybe a shiny new sticker on the corner of your windshield. Quix State Inspection makes the experience a breeze. While their sister shop next door does offer basic maintenance service like oil changes and routine service, the Quix State side strictly does state inspections. I've been coming here for 4-5 years and it's always my go-to for inspections. I highly recommend going during the week, like an early lunch hour, and you'll be in and out in 15 minutes. The guys at the front are very nice and will help get you out of there in no time. Don't waste your time at some random repair shop that will try and up sell you on stuff you don't need. Fast and to the point inspection place. I go here every year for a quick, cheap inspection. Everything else has your typical shop upcharge but if you just come in for an inspection, it is very affordable and very fast. It took less than 15 minutes from the time I arrived to the time I left with my inspection completed. The service was fast and friendly. These guys are amazing! I've gotten my car inspected at Quix State for the past several years. I never feel like they're going to suggest things that my car doesn't need. They are quick as their name suggests. The one or two times a taillight bulb needed to be replaced or a fluid needed to be added, they were very kind and helpful to explain to me in a respectful way what they suggested. If it wasn't something that was needed to pass the inspection, they also told me other stores where I could get the parts to replace it myself if I wanted. I think they're great so I have always just had them do what they suggested and it only cost me about an extra $10 I think. Also, they were really great about disinfecting seats and mask wearing during Covid the last time I was there last summer. read more

They do a quick work. And are honest. My headlight wasn't working. Most mechanics would have taken this opportunity to replace the headlight and charge money. But he told me that some connection was loose and he just moved it a bit ... and headlight came back on. So he didn't charge me anything for it. That's some honesty. read more

I really enjoyed my experience here! ... As much as possible considering it's related to vehicle maintenance. I had read the other reviews for Quix and several other shops before making a decision. I wanted to go on my lunch break so I didn't have to spend extra time after work getting it done and I found that Quix was the closest and best-rated location in relation to my office in Uptown. There was no traffic when I went and I didn't have to wait for any other cars before they pulled mine into the garage. I also really like that they exclusively do vehicle inspections: no attached shop so they can up-sell with expensive repairs that you don't really need. I maintain my car elsewhere and know when I need a repair so it was nice to get in and out. I got there at 1:40pm and was done and driving away with my new inspection sticker at 1:55pm. The guy I dealt with was very nice and friendly and didn't come across 'shady' like some people in the industry. He offered (but didn't force) new wipers since he said mine were getting old, which I knew. He said they would be $15 for the pair which, had my husband not just gotten new ones for my car, would be a pretty fair price. My Safety (12.75) and Emissions (27.00) checks cost me just under $40.00 total. I would definitely recommend them and plan to go back next year. read more

These reviews have to be fake, these crooks wanted to over charge me for the power steering fluid and he said he could do it himself, of course he can, one of these guys with a very strong accent gave me a nasty attitude and he seemed to be irritated for no reason. The best thing about Quix State Inspection is that they truly are quick. I wasn't there for more than 15 minutes before my state inspection was complete and I was walking out the door, and this was with several people in the waiting area when I walked in with no appointment. There was comfortable seating, water, magazines, and a television to pass the time. Not to mention, all of the employees I came in contact with were extremely friendly, so I will be back again next year! They did not use the proper method on my car to shut down the OBD-II port on my Jaguar for the state inspection. It has a battery management system that if not shut down properly will stay on and drain the battery. They were quick and professional, but unfortunately were not qualified to service my car properly. read more
