It's been a while since I've caught up with my friend, Teri. We planned to meet together yesterday for early dinner. Teri gave me 3 places to choose from and I picked @qulturesatx. My first visit was a couple of years ago. The party vibe was on full blast but it wasn't good for conversation. Tee took our orders. Teri had the Watermelon Mimosa and I had the Strawberry and Pineapple Mimosa. Both of us had the Brioche French Toast and we enjoyed the food and drinks. First time here and didn't know what to expect. It definitely has an Urban vibe to it, so I would say it's more for the 20 and 30 year old crowd. It is a combination of a restaurant, bar, hookah lounge. While their menu is limited, I ordered the Catfish and Fries for dinner which were delicious. We came in for the R&B event on Black Friday. 1) People with tickets were waiting in line, which indicates they oversold. The venue does not accommodate the crowd here. 2) I paid $175 for a table for four people, and we only had three chairs for four people. We asked repeatedly for the 4th chair. 3) Our table is a bar table, so for $175 for a reserved table for four and $650 for bottle service, it was very underwhelming. 4) I'm shocked the fire marshal didn't stop by. 5) We asked to see a menu and never saw a menu. So I don't see myself coming back here for their "paid" events, as a restaurant that is debatable. ***Update*** I placed an order for bottle service, and it's been about an hour with no bottles or chasers. $650 to wait on beverages. We went to brunch with friends on a Sunday afternoon. The vibe is EVERYTHING! There was live music that was so good and chill, and the food...OMG...it was absolutely amazing (10/10 for the food and vibe). The reason for the lower rating is because of the timeliness. I think we caught them on an off day and after a rush, but it did take an extended amount of time for our food to be brought out (and it wasn't all brought out together). Also some of the orders were wrong. Based on the vibe and the food we definitely plan to visit again and hope that the service will be better next time. read more

Came here on a Saturday night from out of town. Glad to see there was plenty of parking available right out front. Security checked our IDs at the door and we walked right in. The lovely hostess in the front gave us (three women) a choice of where to seat and we were seated immediately. Upon sitting down, hookah girl came and we order hookah. The place was a decent size with different seating areas. The DJ was okay mixing hip hop from different genres. Service was good as we were checked on by hookah girl, hostess and our waitress periodically through the night. Drinks were priced right but were just okay. They do not serve in glasses and only clear plastic cups. So even my French 75 (made with henny cause they didn't have St. Germain) came in a cup with ice. I was offered a vodka cranberry that tasted like cranberry with no vodka and politely declined. Our waitress seemed very unfamiliar with the drinks and couldn't tell us what any of the drinks were made of, but she got some help from bartender. This place is a VIBE. My group of 10+ was in town for the weekend and randomly decided to try this place out and I am beyond happy that we did. There was great hip hop and r&b music, great backgrounds for photos, and great food. I believe our servers name was Yvette, she was super helpful and attentive to our large group. They had a special for Saturday brunch, I think it was 4 entrees, hookah, and a mimosa tower for $225. Listen, we're from the Houston area and you will NEVER find a special like that, okay?! Lol. I ordered the Chicken N French toast and shared with my sister who ordered the Chicken N Waffles. SMACKED. I heard no complaints from anyone about their food and everyone is plotting to come back to visit just to come here again. My wife and I went for Sunday Funday! It was definitely a vibe. When we walked in we were greeted by a waitress and we told her we had a reservation. She went to confirm with the manager and we were seated! (Consider a hostess stand with a computer)! When we walked in there were girls walking to a table with signs and a sparklers like bottle service at the club! We were promptly greeted by the waitress with water and she took our drink orders. My wife ordered a Pomegranate Mimosa ( said they could accommodate) brought out a grenadine Mimosa ( was a vibe so she enjoyed it) . I had an old fashioned ( not the best but decent) . Drinks took a while to get for some reason ( I could see the bartender standing around on her phone (youngsters for the most part working). We ordered the chicken and waffles and the pasta stuffed Turkey leg! The waffle I served with pecans and syrup on top and 4 fried chicken wings. The waffle is very tasty but a big sweet with the syrup already on top (would ask for it on the side. The wings were very flavorful. The turkey leg was under seasoned itself but the pasta made up for flavor and both are good portions. We also partook of Hookah! Oh yeah they have hookahs! 1 that is suitable for 2-3 and another for a large group. The hookahs are a bit pricer than I am used to in other places around town and in Houston. Lastly, the DJ , great ear for music and no BS mumble rap! The DJ made up for a few service shortcomings! Word of advice to manger! I will preface this by saying that we didn't dine at Qulturé itself, but we tried some of their menu items at the Brunch Festival and ended up voting for them as best in competition. We sampled the jerk lamb chops and the shrimp and grits. In a festival stall environment with portable cooking equipment, they prepared these perfectly! That's no easy feat in those conditions. Several booths offered grits, but none with the perfect texture and flavor of these. As my DH said, the price of admission to the festival was worth those grits alone! Everyone at the event was very friendly, and took the time to answer questions with a smile, even as busy as they were. Looking at their banner, we noticed that their listed location is near us... like, within a few miles! How had we never heard of this place as a dining option so close to home?!? After some digging, it seems that they don't promote their food as much as they promote their "lounge" vibe with DJs, bottle girls, bottle service, mimosa towers for brunch, etc. not much, or not enough, about what they are capable of producing in the kitchen. Their social media presence seems to highlight the clubbing vibe, not the dining side. If their food is as good in person as it is at a festival, they could easily throw down with some of the best in Stone Oak... and Stone Oak has a lot of "bests" in terms of dining, but none of them have DJs or "bottle girls," so the ambiance choice is yours. I'm just not sure, after looking at what they highlight, that it would become a place for us... but they absolutely deserve all the kudos for their delicious product!! read more

There was a live band that was playing gospel music. Very appreciative for a Sunday Brunch. However our server was decent and the food service took forever. My husband and I checked out Qulture and it did not disappoint! Excellent service provided by Joanna (thank you!)and we even got a visit by the wonderful Chef Sydney. The food no doubt was 10 out 10. My husband ordered a stuffed turkey leg, super tender and well seasoned. It was stuffed with truffle Alfredo pasta, delicious! I'm not a huge fan of turkey legs but this was good and a must have! I had the fried catfish with truffle fries and it was perfection! Atmosphere was nice, great drinks (I recommend the lemon drop)and good music. Music was good crowd young (21-28 ish) Staff was friendly but very inattentive. Sat at the bar got lost in the music for a moment but when I realized I had not been offered service I looked at the time. From the time I realized to the time I actually got ass I've had been sitting there for about 15 mins. The bar was not very busy and there was plenty of staff on the floor. The place itself was a nice vibe security was even pleasant. But I am a service person because I tip well. Despite the y attentiveness I still tipped 90% without so much as a thank you. I wanted to be a fan of this place but there's so much wrong with it, and not enough right. When we first arrived they had the majority of the parking lot blocked off with cones. I asked an attendant if there was an event going on and he said no it's just $20 a spot for parking. At a shopping plaza. Which is ridiculous.Then when we entered we were subjected to a full on pat down, purse search, and ID checks at 8 pm for dining. Upon checking in with the hostess they asked if we had reservations to which we didn't. We asked what we needed to do for a table and they said we would need to order bottle services. We agreed to do that, but then we were told all tables are reserved so we couldn't do that anyways. Very poor organization skills from the hosts. We decided to sit at the bar and ordered food, drinks, and hookah. The drinks were good, food was okay but way overpriced. My husband ordered sliders and fries but instead they brought him burgers and fries. Then they charged extra for the fries even though they were the ones who messed up on the order, and the actual burger on the menu comes with fries. The bartender also had tried charging us for an extra drink which I caught before we paid. So overall, we were going to pay for two extra items that we did not order. I was also disappointed that the truffle fries did not taste like they had any truffle oil at all, it was like regular fries. Another issue I had with the bill is that on the menu it says gratuity is added into the price of the food, but upon asking the bartender he said it isn't and we would need to tip separately. Why put this information on the menu then if it's not accurate?? Since we were there for three hours I did end up needing to use the ladies room. It was filthy and one of the stalls was out of order. The dining area was upscale and nice so I was shocked at how filthy and dingy the bathrooms were. The only reason I gave two stars was for the service (even though the bartender overcharged us he was friendly and made sure we had what we needed) and they had really neat murals on the walls. Went this past Sunday reservation was after 6pm. Food was good I ordered the boudin balls and the chicken wings. When I scanned the menu the proper menu did not come up however the waitress showed me the options on her hand scanner that allowed her to place the order. The wings and boudin balls were seasoned and hot upon arrival. What I did not like is when they informed me that I needed to order a bottle service since I was sitting at the high round table in which I made reservations and was sat by the waitress. No I did not know this as it was only 2 in our party and this was not VIP. The flight came up to almost $100 it was ok meaning not strong. I did not like that for that price you did not have the option of frozen only on the rocks. Also after choosing the patron flight I had to pay for it before they could bring it out. I had informed them I was getting food as well because I hate swiping my card more than once in the same establishment but was told that this is the rules. Let me start by saying i wanted to prove the reviews I read wrong but sadly I can't. Went with my partner on Sunday for brunch and first there was no organization, no host at the door, we eventually got seated, no waitress for about 10-12 minutes. Drinks were subpar. Waitress told us there was a 30 minute wait to place our food order as the kitchen was backed up. One thing I've learned from the restaurant business is the kitchen is the heart of the operation. We waited an hour and a half before we got our food. Luckily the ambiance was good and the live band had us moving in our seats. Food wqs good and came out hot.
