We got our order and were told that they ran out of durian and tried to call us so we're missing 3 drinks. We did not receive a call, and they didn't refund us the drinks until we complained to Doordash. Ube Brown Sugar Boba 100% Ice & Sweetness ($6.10): This cup was smaller than the other drinks and incredibly sweet. We could not drink it since it was like drinking straight up brown sugar. Rose Oolong Milk Tea 75% Sweetness, 50% Ice ($5.57): This was the best drink of all of our drinks. It was balanced and you can taste both the rose and oolong tea. Durian Cane ($7.95): We ordered 3 of these and they didn't come because they ran out of durian. Smashed Avocado With Durian ($9.49): So this drink came with a 30% gap on top and 50% of the liquid so we were ripped off. My mom said it was alright and that they used durian powder. Spicy Popcorn Chicken ($8.37): This was not spicy, the chicken is a darker color, and the taste was horrible. I'd rather eat Costco's popcorn chicken. I love r&b drinks! Quick boba shop with kiosks to order from. I've tried a lot of drinks from them and my favorites are: -the yakult fruit teas -peach green tea -stormies Recently tried their durian milk tea and was impressed! Had a nice subtle durian flavor and was so creamy. I usually get their drinks less sweet especially the fruit ones since it is quite sweet. I'm not a fan of their snacks as I've found them to be a small portion and not very tasty. I've also found that there's def variations in drink quality throughout their locations. Glad they opened another location closer to where I am! We usually go to the location in San Jose's Vietnam Town, but we were happy to see that this location opened not too far from where we are. There's actually 2 different drink places inside but when you order, you can order from either menu. They have ordering kiosks, so we actually can't really say much about their service when ordering. We really like the kiosks because we have a little more time to look through the menu at the kiosk before placing an order. I haven't tried too many of their drinks, but the drinks I usually get are the brown sugar boba fresh milk, matcha mango latte, honeydew juice, or the viet coffee with cheese foam and sea salt from Sweet Box. So far, I liked all the drinks I've tried and I like that most of their drinks give customers the ability to adjust their sweetness and ice even when ordering from the kiosk. The last time I was here, it was pretty hot that day so there was a good amount of people coming in to get drinks. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed or other employees were on their break or they just didn't expect a lot of people to come in, but there was only 1 girl making drinks and there were at least 2 or 3 other parties who had ordered other than us. We also noticed that their air conditioning was off even though it was probably 90 degrees outside. I would expect that on a hot day and with so many people waiting for drinks, they would at least have their air conditioning on. From what I remembered, their air condition is very strong. The store itself looks great and is very inviting. The drinks we ordered? Not so much. We ordered the Watermelon Slushy and the Nuoc Mia. Both were not that great. I'm a huge watermelon slushy fan, but this place adds watermelon syrup into the blended watermelon, which gives it this gross taste. I don't prefer fresh watermelons to be mixed in with artificial watermelon syrup, keep them separated! The nuoc mia was also adulterated with some other crap that didn't make it taste good at all. Our bar standard for nuoc mia is the place in Grand Century mall where you can see them press the sugarcane right in front of you. This place however didn't come even close. Also the menu is very confusing. There are many different selections of boba in their standalone ordering kiosk, such as golden boba, crystal boba (which is made of agar), but on their physical menus near the ceiling there's only "boba" or "brown sugar boba." When we inquired about this, the lady told us she didn't know the difference. I think the business needs to communicate this better. I'm willing to try this place again in the near future, but based on our experience here it seems as though they like to mix fresh ingredients with artificial syrups, and it really makes the drink taste and feel fake. If they're not known for the drinks we ordered I'd rather they take it off menu and focus on the ones they are known for, or at the very least have the passion to make it taste decent. read more

You can order at the kiosk and they take apple pay which has been extremely convenient. Their drinks take a little longer to make and there wasn't a line in the evening. The ambiance is nice and extremely spacious if you planned to socialize here in a group. They have a ton of seating, and I saw people huddled at a table playing board games and others working on a laptop. If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try! R&B Tea, which is not short for rhythm and blues, is the latest tea spot I've been to for the boba wars, the spot that took over Yomi, which felt blah seeing that the staff member I asked there didn't know the meaning of the name. (Somehow, "Sakura Wars" popped into my head.) Not much regarding ambiance, though that makes sense on a dead time frame in one of the three middle days of the week. To those that are trying out a spot whether it's the Milpitas location or wherever, a quick tip. Research the drinks. I wish I had done this before, but I just really wanted banh mi sandwiches in the plaza. You'll know why in a bit. I better list the only good parts. Uh, at least the server remembered to say "Thank you" and "Have a nice day" even though I did feel like I was doing a horrible job at that task, as the Snakes are still in the Playoffs. Oh, and I suppose the menu's interesting, though that's said for just about every boba spot really. Without this paragraph, the place gets a 1 rating easily. Just like the last place I reviewed, the spot only has a kiosk. So, no human service unless there's a special case like a listed discount. Guess what. The dispenser ran out of sanitizer. As if that's not bad enough, normally, when I go to a boba spot, I make a heart instead of dotting my I for my Michael Jordan/autograph, but I ended up placing a (boring) dot because I cleared out my autograph way too many times to the point I ended up thinking "I'm not going to bother placing a heart above the I" in the end. (I didn't count the number of clearing times, but I'm sure it's more than 3.) On a side note, the decorations are excellent...if this were a retro restaurant like Nick's in Pacifica. (The pause there indicated that I didn't really like them for a place like this.) Oh. There are people that will tell you that you need to waste a dollar if you don't ask for ice. That part is true. The place has no safety net to prevent you from making a horrible decision potentially, as you don't have a legend chart to work with. I figure by logic that I'd be okay with their probiotic drink, which like just about everyone they mistakenly call it "Yakult", as I got the strawberry one. I made a horrible decision by getting the large one because there's also green tea. I so did not want regular caffeine green tea, and if I wanted matcha in my probiotic drink, I'd rather get a small cup. I know matcha is good for tiring days, like today for me, because of the antioxidants, but the drawback is the amount of caffeine is bad if you drink it in the twilight/evening when you need to get up early the following day. R&B Tea feels more repulsive than radical. I wanted to like the place since my youngest brother says that it's not bad, but while it has an interesting menu, it has too many flaws for a place that's stuck in the boba wars. Instead of trying to have fun in a boba spot as I ordered, I felt like the visit gave me the same feeling as hearing "Bump 'n Grind" in a library. (For you youngsters, I'm twitching like Niko from "Love Live" in other words.) My wife and I finally got a chance to try "R&B Tea Nitro" off S. Abel St. right next to "Swagats" and "Dakao 2 Sandwiches 2 Go." (they are always out of bread lol) Anyways, R&B's drinks are great! My wife and I modified our drinks and asked for less sugar / ice and it still had a refreshing sweet taste that didn't seem bland. Prices are reasonable too, $5-6 dollars give or take, some of our regular spots are charging almost 8 bucks for a drink due to inflation. I have been going around trying every oolong/roasted oolong milk tea in all boba tea stores so I am just reviewing this drink. I always choose 0% sugar and no ice. I give this a 3/5 from R&B tea. Was super confident and decided to "up" my drink to the larger one in a can. The tea here is slightly more milkier but unfortunately you can taste the dilution of the drink. Oolong taste not as strong. I am not sure if they use dairy free creamer or fresh milk, but I have recently found that teas using dairy free creamer taste creamier than those made with actual milk. The boba is fresh and chewy. The snacks we got were garlic fries and spicy popcorn chicken. Both of these were kind of salty! Was craving boba after shopping at Great Mall, found this place on Yelp! It is new so it is on its soft opening. The place is clean, pretty roomy, and they have kiosks for your orders. It is nice because there are pictures for everything. When we came in they greeted us politely and we got to ordering right away. However my friend got the peach oolong milk tea, also half sugar half ice, but it was noticeably less sweet. A big part of this place's branding is their "nitro" boba which I imagined to have the same mouthfeel as nitro cold brew but I didn't get that at all; instead of that smooth, extra creaminess that i expected, I just got typical milk tea. I wonder if it's because I went an hour before closing and the nitro charger was out or something? They have milk tea taps in the front. I also want to note that the inside smells pretty bad. When I came in I noticed an odor of old oil immediately. I stayed inside for about an hour talking with a friend and when I got home, that smell definitely lingered on my clothes and now they're in my laundry. Sometimes they are bland and the texture is off. The boba is usually soft and only requires a couple of bites to break up. It's disappointing when I need to work the boba as if I'm chewing gum. One of the best Hawaiian fruit teas that I've had! Very tasty and refreshing. My family also got the same drink and equally loved the drink. Got it with 100% sugar and it wasn't overly sweet and I thought it was just right. The serving size is humongous! You can't tell from the pictures on the menu, but the Hawaiian fruit tea is probably a little less than double the size of the other drinks. It took me days to be able to finish the drink, and it was still good at the very end. It would've been nice if there were more fruit, however. It comes with a small slice of watermelon, slice of orange and kumquat. The price is fairly expensive however for the volume of the drink, it's worth it. I would get it again if in the area. Been here at least three times and all have been positive experiences. Orders are completed through a self service kiosk which showcases the menu as well. There's a lot of seating and what's lovely is that they even offer some board games to use with your friends! They even decorated the entire store for Halloween and it's small touches like that, that really elevate the comfortability and fun. There's plenty of parking and the plaza is not that busy so parking is really easy. I only tried the assam and jasmine green milk tea so far; both haven't been too bitter even at 25% sweet. I would recommend you to go 50% sugar and below if you don't really want a sweet drink. There's sooo many options to choose from which makes me really excited to come back and try new flavors especially Vietnamese fusion drinks (Nuoc Mia with Durian). They also have outdoor seating so my dog can come along! Plenty of indoor seating as well so I can come here and study as they provide wifi :) The manager is super friendly too because I was looking at the menu but I didn't have my glasses on and she told me I could order from their kiosk machines so that I could see the pictures of the drinks and read the words better! Came during their soft opening! I don't like how each location is franchised out(?), since you get different things and pay for different things at different locations. But at this particular location, their kiosk menu was not consistent with their visual menu when you order at the register. My friend wanted the Sugar Cane which was advertised only on the kiosk screen but she couldn't find it on the kiosk menu as an option after looking for like 10 minutes. Only when she ordered something else was when she noticed you had to go to the register to order it. Drinks are good, consistent with the other locations. Interior is spacious and a good spot to do homework or just hang out. It might have been during their soft opening period but my friend and I always felt a watchful pair of eyes on us from the manager(?) who was on his laptop in and out of the store. It's so nice to see that there is a R&B open in Milpitas so much closer to me! I really enjoyed the one in Vietnam town. They had great coffee and snacks. We got a rose oolong milk tea, a lychee fruit tea, and a jasmine milk tea. Yummy new boba shop in Milpitas that also offers snacks and sweets! The interior is gorgeous!!! There is a particular wall that is so exceptionally aesthetically pleasing. It's like an asian styled wall and of to the side is a sort of hologram esque projector. Not only does it look nice, it also looks so cozy to hangout with friends or study! There was a table with some games and some of the tables by the walls had outlets! The staff was also nice and friendly. And of course the drinks were great!
