We got their jasmine milk tea, thai green milk tea, and matcha milk with grass jelly. We were a little annoyed that to choose "0% ice" it would be +$1 but I guess it is what it is. Anyways drinks were pretty good, I really enjoyed how strong of a tea flavor they had! My brother said the grass jelly was not the best so he probably wouldn't get it again, but the drink itself was good! I came here yesterday with my sister. It's located in a quiet plaza filled with other Vietnamese restaurants which I hope to explore someday. The inside of R&B is pretty big for a boba shop and has a lot of seating. The store also shares some space with another restaurant called Sweet Box. It's pretty simple ordering: just go up to one of the two kiosks in front and order what you want! My sister ordered a rose oolong milk tea with lychee jelly while I opted for a peach oolong milk tea with lychee jelly. We also got a brown sugar boba fresh milk (it's non caffeinated!) for our older sister. All our drinks had 50% sweetness which is a great level if you don't like things that are too sweet. My peach oolong had such a vibrant, summery taste to it and the lychee jelly was so fresh and sweet. The flavors complemented each other perfectly. My younger sister said her rose oolong had a strong tea flavor and her jelly tasted freshly made. My older sister liked her drink although she wished it was a bit sweeter. S O F T O P E N I N G R E V I E W So this is just the review for the soft opening. I stumbled upon this place when I was grabbing some banh mi next door. I was surprised to see R&B opening a location in milpitas and I'm so happy they are. It's a bit hidden away in the plaza but it's kind of like a hidden gem in my opinion. It looks clean and I love the aesthetic. The interior looks fun and inviting with lots of seating; a great place to bring a big group to hang out. They have snacks and such too. I only tried the strawberry green tea so far and it was good. Not the best strawberry tea I've ever had but nonetheless good. Not watered down or anything and a good level of sweetness for me personally. I will definitely be returning to try other drinks. Definitely worth a try, especially if you live in the area. read more

My favorite drink to get is the Hawaiian fruity green tea! The cup is so large and love how there's real fruit in it! We've had mixed experiences with the length of time of receiving our drinks. This place has much potential but the owners of this chain fail to see it in the customers perspective. This is one of rare milk tea shops I have been to where they charge you $1 if you choose to not have ice on your drink. How cringe is that? Like you're that cheap you can't put 2oz more tea in someones cup just because they don't want ice. Drinks however are good for the most part especially because they have the nitro drinks here. I tried their tempura snack and it's pretty generic. Highly likely frozen from a box. Every time I go to a shop; I look at the whole experience. I tried to do some work while I am here but the music they have on is so loud and obnoxious. I already have noice cancellation earphones and that didn't do much. I asked for 50% sugar and it tasted like they didn't add any sugar. Not to mention I ordered through the phone and had to wait 15 mins for them to make my drink. It wasn't even busy. Had to throw away the entire drink. Waste of $6. The cashier also charged me for something that I didn't order but luckily I caught it. Slow service, terrible drinks. This R&B Tea is in Milpitas and they are located in a small plaza. There is a small shared parking lot here, but there is usually parking the days I stopped by. This location not as packed as their other locations in the South Bay. I had them in SoCal and I really liked it, but it is unfortunate the quality is not the same here. So far, I have tried the green tea with cheese cream, jasmine milk tea, and their Matcha Stormy at this location. The green tea with cheese cream was a bit bitter and it has a strong tea taste, while the cheese tasted a bit off. The jasmine milk tea was very creamy with a sweet candy taste to it and it did not taste like your typical milk tea. The Matcha Stormy was just just okay at this location - it is not consistent and it did not taste well blended, while the matcha taste was not as strong as it should be. Their boba was a bit off, it is very chewy with a weird texture to it. They always put a lot of ice , even when you ask them for less - they will say yes and put more when you are not looking. read more

i went here with some friends today and had a blast! i ordered the green thai tea and the watermelon yakult, as well as the sweet potato fries. the green thai tea was delicious! the brown sugar boba i added was warm which i really liked, and it wasn't too sweet either. the the watermelon yakult was a nice palate cleanser from the milkiness of the green thai tea, it tasted like a watermelon flavored jolly rancher which is my favorite flavor! :) the sweet potato fries were also really good and were a good portion size, as my friends and i were able to share and finish it. i also appreciate the different game selections available! our round of uno was absolute chaos, and i loved it. we also went through every single card while playing buzzed tower. the atmosphere in the shop was perfect for us to bond and create more amazing memories with each other. overall, this will definitely be my go-to boba place whenever i visit milpitas! even though there were a lot of people when i ordered, the service was still relatively quick, as i didn't have to wait too long to get my drinks, and they for sure satisfied my recent craving for boba. read more

Got the Hawaiian fruit tea and Blossom Pineapple tea! The Hawaiian fruit tea was HUGE, the pictures on the menu do not do it justice. It had fruits like watermelon, apple, orange in it. I got the green tea version and it was refreshing. I got it with 100% sugar and it was not as sweet as the blossom pineapple one. We got blossom pineapple at 50% sugar and it was still pretty sweet, but so yummy. I definitely liked this one more! It comes with a can-top (like a soda can top) which was interesting! read more

Noticed this spot after eating some Indian food next door. The decor was bright and looked great so I knew I had to come try. This is located in the Abel plaza which has plentiful parking most of the time. I got the truffle fries, and 5 drinks. The truffle fries were good, crunchy, and flavorful. I got the Thai ice green tea and candy oat milk tea. The packaging of the drinks were super cute and the flavor of the Thai green tea was great. Not too sweet and good tea flavor kicking in at the end. The candy oat milk tea was more of a simple drink with the oats giving sweetness to a pretty mild milk tea drink. I enjoyed it tho. Everyone else was satisfied with their drinks as well. Their menu is so large we literally spent 15 minutes looking at it. R&B Tea is one of my fav tea spots! My favorite drink is the Hawaiian fruit tea. I found out this location only recently as I drove by and was so excited to have a R&B tea nearby bc I would always have to drive down to Vietnam Town. I forgot to take pics but I got the strawberry green tea with extra sweet & the classic black milk tea extra sweet. There is no cashier so you would have to order thru the kiosk yourself. First of all, they didn't have a working lock on the bathroom when we were there, so while my friend was in there, a worker walked in on her. Hubby loved the watermelon slushee with brown sugar boba. I really liked the rich tea flavor in my rose oolong milk tea with added lychee jelly. I had it at 70% sugar, but I probably could have gone down to 50% given the added sweetness from the jelly. One thing I don't like is that they charge for no ice. I like to get my drinks with no ice because I tend to take my time sipping the drink. Ice always ends up watering down my tea flavor which I hate. I came in order Suong sa hat luu since I had a craving for hat luu. As you can see, all they put in are jellies and crystal boba. I am sorry but as a Viet foodie, I have years of experience to distinguish between crystal boba and hat luu. Before you ask, I specified no mung bean just in case since some places add mung bean in suong sa hat luu, but it has nothing to do with my hat luu anyway. Anyhow, having Sweet Box in Viet Town before and now this one, I do hope you try better at the service. If you forgot, it's fine. However, if you currently don't have hat luu, just be truthful and tell the customers. My friends and I wanted to try this new place but it was soo disappointing!! We got 4 drinks and a takoyaki snack and everything sucked. To me, it wasn't a waste of just money. I wasted time and calories. - sugarcane with salted plum: did not taste like fresh sugarcane at all. And it was super overprice. Around $8 I rather go to Vietnamtown to get the good stuff. - cream brûlée milk: super sweet even though we got 50% less sweet. The milk was too thick to enjoy and the boba were just ok. - watermelon summer drink: it's a try hard watermelon wannabe. Better to purée your own watermelon juice at home. It would be cheaper. $7 for a drink vs $6 for a whole watermelon - mojito coffee: super strong bitter as heck. Think Vietnamese coffee without the Condense milk and there was no mint. Just bad bitter coffee. - takoyaki: mushy. Plain. Maybe was pre bought off at a store frozen? Idk but it was not worth it. read more

Drove by and noticed R&B located in the somewhat an empty plaza tucked in near the corner. We been going to the SJ locations and it's nice to have one closer home. I've had R&B Tea in various SoCal locations and in the Santa Clara location in Valley Fair, but for some reason this location in Milpitas makes the drinks overly sweet even at 50% sweetness and normal 100% ice. I typically get the Hawaiian fruit tea (either green or black tea) at 50% sweetness and regular 100% ice, but this location is still overwhelmingly sweet at 50%. I may need to order this at an even lower sweetness to see if it is better. Other than that, the milk tea is alright with more of a milky taste than tea taste and the boba is a bit on the chewy side. Their fruit teas are better than the milk teas. read more

The drink I got from R&B itself, I was astonished how big the biggest cup for their fruit tea was. However, I was disappointed by the drink. It was watery and was not flavorful to finish 1/4 of it.
