Service was very fast and friendly, making it a solid stop during a short layover. *Deviled Crab Cakes: came as four small, freshly fried pieces with a very small amount of cocktail sauce and a lemon slice. They were hot, crisp, and packed with sweet, tender Maryland crab. There was no filler and the light breading let the crab shine. Even with minimal sauce, they were flavorful on their own. *Oysters: each order included three oysters that were well shucked and clean. They were East Coast oysters with a nice balance of sweet and briny flavors, again served with basic cocktail sauce and lemon. Overall, this is a great airport option, even if it is a bit pricey. As I was walking towards my gate, saw R&R seafood bar had fresh raw oysters and I knew I had to get it. Luckily there was couple open high top seats available. They had 2 types of raw oysters and ended up getting 3 of each, the wellfleet from MA and the local kent island from MD. This was my first time ever eating fresh raw oysters at the airport and wow both were delicious!! How often can you get Bomb fresh Oysters shuck in front of you in an airport. The staff here working over the counter were constantly busy, but still had great customer service, checking up on meC refilling my water. I DO NOT recommend R&R Seafood at BWI. I stopped at the bar simply to ask for a cup of ice water so I could take my medication The bartender responded, "Ma'am, we don't give out ice water because we get our ice shipped in." I've never heard anything so unreasonable. Denying someone a simple cup of ice waterespecially when they need to take medication is poor customer service and shows a complete lack of common courtesy. What's even more disappointing is that the last time I flew through this terminal, I spent over $100 at this bar. To be treated this way over a cup of ice water is unbelievable. Customer service matters, and this experience ensured I won't be spending another dollar here. There are plenty of other places at BWI that value their customers. I will not be returning. read more

Very cool bar in the middle of Gate A terminals. I don't drink liquor but I got drawn by the raw oysters menu written on the board so I think maybe something cooked ia available and I was glad there was the Bacon and Parmesan roasted oysters! 3 huge oysters were on a plate and I love it with Tabasco! However, the last one looked raw or half cooked, not roasted at all:( So I only ate 2... the second one looked half cooked too but well... the servers were busy and really doing their best to keep up with customers. Price was $15.99 for 3 oysters, so about $5.33 a piece plus tax. Will try a more filling snackin' next time:) read more

I got to the airport super early and decided to come here for a drink. The bartender (can't remember his name but he was from further up the east coast) was super quick, personable, and attentive. I did not try any of the food, though I was tempted. I sat here for about 45 minutes and had 2 old fashioneds. They were good. The only thing that didn't make them perfect was of course the ice. No fault of the bartender of course. I would totally come back here again. As a former Maryland girl who now lives in Boston, I only order crabcakes when I visit Maryland (or Delaware.) Everywhere else, they use too many breadcrumbs. On a recent layover at BWI, I ventured over to R&R Seafood in Terminal A. I ordered a Caesar salad with a crabcake on the side. The Caesar was great. My cocktail was great. My server was awesome (Jamal). The crabcake, however, was a bitter disappointment. It tasted like it came from the freezer section at the grocery store. I wouldn't have been so disappointed if it hadn't been a $35 item. Lesson learned. Next time I have a long layover, I'll uber to G&M and back. read more

From my experiences here, would recommend skipping the food and just going for drink(s). The bartenders are fun and drinks are good. Felt like most patrons were friendly and saw a lot of randoms talking to each other. Food is mediocre and overpriced, although oysters are good. A typical airport bar by gates A11-16. We didn't eat prior to going through security, didn't want the usual Food Court offerings (Mickey D's Chipotle, CFA etc.) so we carried on until we reached the bar. I figured I could get a nice crab cake and a glass of wine. They were packed with the normal weeknight travelers. Hubby and I found a seat and waited. The waiter/bartender looked swamped but did make sure he acknowledged us and came over to offer us a menu and water. He was running around the bar as if he was on skates! (No wonder he stays slim and trim). The Caesar salad and crab cake was...just okay. Like airline food really. I watched the cooks as the warmed up previously frozen items. So be aware, it's not homemade. Hubby said his fish tacos were "aight ". They are a bit oily. Marylanders, don't be fooled into thinking you're getting a G&M or Pappa's crab cake. Can't compare. But wasn't horrid either. If in a pinch, I'd eat here again. But since the service was friendly, I'd come back for another pre-flight pour! read more

Not sure what kind of backup this bar was experiencing the day I patronized this place, but service was awful. We weren't greeted at all, and had to eventually flag down one of the staff after 10 minutes of sitting there to get any service at all. I ordered the shrimp basket with a salad. The shrimp was good, the salad was a Caesar which I didn't expect b/c the menu said side salad. I didn't want a Caesar but was hungry so I ate it regardless. Had to flag down the bartender to pay. Careful if you go here and expect to be acknowledged with in 15 minutes or be treated with any respect when you don't have time to order after they finally acknowledge you. Young short skinny black male server started cussing at me and trying to instigate a fight with my husband after I left my sandwich wrapper on the counter - telling me the bar was for patrons only, I told him I tried to be but he wouldn't acknowledge me- mind you I have a 5 hour flight home and I had time to go purchase and eat from another shop before I was acknowledged while my husband sat at the bar waiting to order us drinks. I don't expect much from airport restaurants but I was pleasantly surprised here. Sat at the bar and the staff were extremely friendly. Drinks were good only had one didn't want to be denied boarding haha! Had the shrimp basket although it was served on a plate....luckily I had a long time before my flight because it took a while to come out. My perceptive server noticed I had been waiting a while and went back to the kitchen to "light a fire" under them. Once I had it the shrimp and fries were delicious and huge portions! Pricy of course it's a seafood place in an airport you'll have to go elsewhere to find a bargain but I think it was 100 percent worth it. Anytime I'm strolling through the airport, I make it a point to grab a bite to eat and a nice glass of vino. Well I did just that! I ordered the Crab Dip with Pita bread and a glass of Altitude Chardonnay. Can you say scrumptious! Well...it was for sure. The service was great! Elizabeth provided great service and she made sure I was taken care of. She was very polite and I didn't have to ask for anything. She was very attentive and the vibe was pretty chill. The bar was just right.. I guess this is where my decreased intake plays a role because I barely ate anything, although the food was very tasty! I walked the wrong way in the bwi airport, and saw this place and decided to hang out for a bit to kill some time, they have a nice selection on the menu, and a number of different drinks. I'm a Bloody Mary fan, so of course I had to try the crabby Mary! It was very tasty! I loved the garnishing, and the flavor especially! But after the last two weeks I had I will be honest I really needed a treat and hopefully something decadent and tasty. This was it.. I walked up the the long bar, it went all the way around the space. Sat down, got a menu and was warmly greeted. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc which plays nicely with Crab Cakes. I've never been to the Baltimore, MD area and thought why not. I was grateful for the wine an it was as if my server knew what to say as I said many thanks and he said "You deserve it." I needed to hear that...I'm sure they deal with a great deal of weary travelers. Now when you order the crab cake it comes with a local bag of chips, crackers, lemon and they ask if you want cocktail sauce or tarter sauce. I'm partial to rémoulade on my crab cakes. Although they did not have it get the spicy aioli it's what you want. Granted the other stuff is house made but it's not for a crab cake. The crab cake sure it was a little smaller than I expected but it was full of crab and little filler and it was very savory. Everyone sitting around you is pretty chill as they may be waiting for a flight or a long layover and are usually pretty friendly or they keep to themselves. Staff is friendly, efficient and empathetic a plus. If you find yourself in this particular gate at the airport give it a whirl. They have other food too and freshly shucked oysters. They have a few High Noon type cans that are always safe. They do run out of stuff. But consider the other options and stop whining... BWI seems to have lots of solid food options, but I was craving crabcakes and oysters and this was a great choice. It wasn't cheap ($23) but the quality of crab meat was high and I felt merited the price. The cocktail sauce also tasted homemade and not from the jar. I also sprung for the oyster shooter (when in Rome). I liked the flavor profile, but felt there was too much vodka relative to the other ingredients. Bonus points for 20 oz drafts for $7-8. The menu is small, but if you're wanting that last dose of seafood, it's a great bet. There are also a few more affordable options like fish tacos under $15. read more

We had a long delay in the airport and luckily this bar was right next to our gate. Thought we'd just sit for one drink but ended up staying a whole 4 hours. The server was friendly and fun, definitely a good bartender personally. He served up good drinks and shucked the oysters. Maybe not high end restaurant shucking, but I didn't get shell and that's a big plus, and they tasted clean and fresh. Shrimp cocktail was also very good.
