I am a supporter of new business in LB, but this place has the worst service I have ever experienced. I was seated at the bar trying to get the attention of one of the three bartenders that were working, after a gentleman walked in and was served I became hopeful. After 15 minutes of waiting I asked if maybe they were closing, after all it was almost 7pm on a Saturday. They had no clue I was there. During my wait I asked others at the bar if service was always this bad. They said it was their second visit and both times it was bad. Do not waste your time going to this place. I never saw them serve any one other than the gentleman who walked in after me the whole time I was there. read more

If it were possible I would give this place 0 Stars but it's not so here we are with one. Second time at this place. First time was great! Hung out with friends and spent a good amount of $ on a Friday night. Pitchers, shots you know that DTLB on a Friday vibe. Today though my husband and I go in for a quick bite and a beer. Wrong choice, should have gone to Chili's down the street. My I.D expires today. Okay legal stuff fine I'll take a water. I ordered food. Menu suggesting I order the poutine and I took the suggestion. I've had poutine at other places and although I'm no expert. I did read the menu and it said DRIZZLED GRAVY. These poor fries needed a life vest in that bowl. Not appetizing. I was hungry so I ate the few that were not floating in the gravy. (Should have given me a spoon not a fork) $Bill time$ I get a bill that was charging me $10 for plain ole poutine. The manager ,mind that he is hanging with his buds having a beer, then was made aware of the situation. **It is concerning that someone in charge of a business is drinking on the job (none of my business though) The waitress that was taking care of us never came back to our table since the order was placed. It was very disappointing. Our friends work on Pine and spend hundreds a week there because it's is so close. We came in here on a Friday night because i had heard great things from some friends and wanted to check the place out. Lights were dim and intimate, music was at a comfortable level (juke box). Instantly greeted by a bartender named Adam. He Told us we were welcome to sit anywhere we liked so we decided to sit at the bar. Bartender Adam came up to us right away to ask us how he could help us. Some of my friends did not know what they wanted but Adam intervened and said he could make something that we liked. He ended up making us a really amazing drinks and had patience with us even though we we had no idea what to get. My friends and I are light weights so we only stayed for 1 drink but Adam definately made the experience worthwhile with great service and attitude. Took my bf and my bfs mom here on Wednesday for the bottomless spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was a little cold the first time it came out, but we ordered a second bowl of spaghetti which was piping hot and it was much better. I love that the sauce was not chunky which made it better. I wish they had more flavor because the sauce is very simple (can sauce). However you can't beat $5 for bottomless spaghetti. My bf ordered the pastrami sandwich which was good. The Mac and cheese was amazing!!!!! I like the vibes of the place and the drinks were good and service was exceptional! Rio was awesome!!! So this place is newish and I've been meaning to go. They have a great Tuesday happy hour so I decided today I should go (and a frequent customer card). I usually see this place packed for games so it can't be too bad right?? Well I read some reviews and they are true regarding the cigarette smoke (atmosphere is very subjective so whether you think this place has too many TVs or not it is your fault for coming into a sports bar... benign reviews). The place has a residual smell of cigarettes. However, shortly after coming in one man sat directly outside and began smoking. I thought I'd be okay. But after several minutes, I could not take it. I spoke with the bartender Eric (who explained HE IS NEW) about it, because in California it is ILLEGAL to smoke inside or OUTSIDE ON A PATIO. I think he was under the impression he had no power in telling the man to stop, stating he wasn't the manager. However, he works there and has the authority to tell someone to stop breaking the law or leave. But I insisted. He spoke with the man did eventually stop. However I think it is important that the manager be aware of this and that he/she let staff know about this LAW. Because I think it's a deterrent for patrons. However. Eric makes a very good margarita and is very nice! I won't give up on this place, and give it another try since it is so close. But I hope this changes or I won't be back. I also really like the fireplace! It's swanky. It really can only go positively from here. Update: this place is trash. The food here is pretty good. The reason for 2 stars is the service. I have been to this place more than once for lunch since it's so close to my job. The problem is the time it takes to get your order. My coworkers and I stopped in for lunch. There were only 2 people at the bar. The servers were very nice and helpful. But once we placed our order, it took forever to get our food. We were a party of eight. Had they been busy I can understand a wait. But we were the only people ordering food at that time. I expect a bit of a wait when taking lunch at noon with all the other business people. However, I feel you should be adequately staffed to handle a lunch rush if you choose to be open during that time. People going in at lunch time are on a schedule and need to get back to work. Overall good experience! Decent prices and good selection of beers on tap- have a BUNCH of whisky scotch and tequila so if you like it is def the place for you! Staff was nice and helpful. Visited here last night when La Traviotta turned south. The two girls behind the bar are electric! Always moving, always looking, friendly and great service. We sat at a table, the place was busy. Wings were good, bacon cheeseburger with side salad was awesome! Bartender ladies checked on us and all regularly, all people present seemed well attended.
