The service was impeccable! Tyler was so kind and patient with me, even putting up with my corny jokes He recommended a roll for me, and it was absolutely delicious! The only downside was the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer, it tasted like straight up JARlic instead of fresh garlic. That garlic flavor was imprinted in my mouth like when Jacob imprinted on Renesmee No matter how much I brushed my teeth, it was NOT leaving! But it's okay, IG Overall, the food wasn't bad at all, and our server was incredibly kind. I'll definitely be back!

As always had an amazing night at RA Sushi for reverse happy hour tried new food, new drinks, got a free shot, and enjoyed every bite except the tofu shrimp soup. I will still recommend stopping in for a meal. Amazing music, customer service, and atmosphere.

Wife and I popped into RA Sushi on a whim for a last-minute dinner this evening. We had a 7pm reservation and got seated right away at the table of our choice since it wasn't super busy when we arrived. Our server Tyler took came by soon after we were seated to take the customary drink orders. Throughout the evening, he checked on us just often enough, gave good recommendations, and was very friendly. The rolls we ordered were all fresh. Between my wife and me, we had three rolls and that was more than enough for us. We also ended up getting an order of their mochi ice creams for dessert - 1 apiece of the chocolate, mango, and strawberry. The ice cream inside was nicely melted and the mochi was chewy (in a good way). The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and has various types of seating and we could see from a large group that walked in that it's also suitable for group dining. All in all, we had an enjoyable meal. Tyler, thanks for your recos, your fantastic service, and for going the extra mile to make sure we were content and had everything we could possibly want!

I def make a stop to RA sushi at least a few times within a month. Today we had TY, he was super welcoming and friendly. I appreciate when we get recommendations on items off the menu and they are actually good. Tried the pumpkin spice margarita, I was a little skeptical but it was actually really good. I typically get the same thing when I come. Garlic edamame spicy specifically, snack shrimp tempura rolls and the viva Las Vegas rolls. It gets be right all the time.

What a great option for happy hour!! We had some time to kill and my friend had raved about RA so we decided to check it out. It was happy hour (yay) and we were impressed with all the food options. Since we were all sharing we decided to pick a good variety of food including edamame, potstickers, chicken fried rice, bang bang shrimp and a few different sushi rolls. Everything was delicious and under $50 dollars (what a value)! Service was quick and the vibe was chill. A great option for happy hour or peaceful meal.

if you're looking for a party vibe, this is it! i went to reverse happy hour on a friday, and it was packed, and the bass was booming! this is not a child friendly environment on a friday evening, so i highly suggest not bringing any youth under 18 yrs old. also, if someone has sensory sensitivities, this may not be the best environment; flashing lights and really loud music. the hosts were prompt and ensured that we were seated at a fresh table. it's definitely a party environment, the music is loud and there are screens everywhere. they also come around with sparklers and complimentary shots. i ordered from the hh menu (currently sorting through the best hh in houston) wagyu sliders (as told 9/10, definitely craveable) chips and salsa (1/10) california roll (8/10) seared tuna (8/10) milagro paloma (6/10) i was vehemently against the chips and salsa. there was something about the appearance of the salsa that didn't sit right with me.. i recommend avoiding it. i ordered the cali roll and seared tuna. i really enjoyed the cali roll because it was freshly rolled and the flavor of the tuna was easy. the wait for food, was pretty long but when the music is loud and you are drinking complimentary shots.. the wait isn't so bad. on a friday evening, this is a great place to bring a friend or family member to give them a mild houston party experience. definitely fun, but not too overwhelming. if you visit, have fun and drink responsibly bonné santé c.

I went to RA Sushi for happy hour on a Sunday and had a mixed but ultimately positive experience. The first thing I noticed upon arrival was that the elevator was out of service, which meant having to walk all the way up the stairs. This made the space not very accessible, and it is something to keep in mind, especially for anyone with mobility concerns. Thankfully, I was not wearing heels that day. It was not very busy and I was able to request a table near the window which I enjoyed. The tvs were on but it was not a noisy environment. Once seated, it took about 10 minutes before anyone came over to my table. That initial wait was a bit frustrating, but when my waitress did arrive, she was very kind and attentive. I first ordered a cucumber margarita, which unfortunately did not have much flavor. She kindly allowed me to swap it out for a traditional margarita, which was much better. I ordered the Wagyu sliders (no photo), and while I did enjoy them, the wait time was very long. Because of the delay, the restaurant ended up taking them off my bill, which I really appreciated. That level of customer service went a long way. They offer happy hour from 3 p.m. to close on Sundays and all day on Mondays, which is a great deal. Despite a few hiccups, I would definitely come back, especially for happy hour.

Visit RA sushi on Veterans Day to be blessed with a entrée of the value of $49 This was a very first time ordering from here, which I was excited to discover that they had hibachi and many other entrées outside of just sushi. Which I don't mind sushi, I only indulge in cooked sushi though. But on this visit, I opted for hibachi entrée I decided to go with the hibachi steak, chicken and shrimp. I ordered it for dine in, I also asked for a box to go since it was kinda late while ordering. I wish the server provided hard plastic to go containers that they use when they package orders for to go, versus the little styrofoam folding box especially since I was putting in a complete plate away.

    Shea M.

I'll start by saying I understand how chaotic things can get when a restaurant is fully packed, and I appreciate that my party arrived late and was still accommodated. Also, my meal was complementary due to my complaint. Those courtesies are the only reason this review isn't a one-star rating. We were told upfront that there are two separate kitchens and that dishes might come out at different times, which I thought was reasonable. We also confirmed the order in which checks would be split prior to ordering anything. The problem is that my party of nine was there from about 9:30p to 11:45p, and the timing was unacceptable. I ordered edamame and a calamari roll. The roll never arrived. Others in my group ordered simple items like fried rice and soup, and those didn't show up until almost an hour and a half later. Even after the restaurant slowed down, the checks took an unusually long time to process. When we asked for the checks, the waiter seemed to sound understanding that we were ready to leave but would get lost and return 10-15 minutes later to reconfirm the split and then disappear again. Overall, the service was extremely slow and frustrating, and it affected the entire experience. Everyone who received their food and was able to taste it seemed to enjoy it.

This restaurant is conveniently located at the end of the outdoor shopping center on the second floor. It has plenty of seating and I enjoyed the ambiance. It's a red colored themed restaurant with views of the street which is nicely decorated for Christmas. The menu is short and to the point. It has plenty of options for everyone. The pineapple cheese wontons is such a nice twist on your typical cheese wontons. The Phil roll had a nice rice to salmon cream cheese ratio. The steak fried rice was super yummy! I wish I ordered more. The server was friendly. Service was quick but the restaurant also didn't have a lot of guests to attend to. Based on my experience so far, I'll be back.

    Sesame Garlic Wings
    Leah W.

4 months later and my rating is about the same, maybe even a little less. The food can just be a hit or miss here. On this visit I got the sesame garlic wings again, along with the shrimp fried rice and shrimp tempura roll. The wings were delicious as always. Soo crispy, HUGE, fresh and flavorful. These wings are amazing, and I learned to ask for well done because the second time I ordered these they were more on the soggy side and I didn't want that happening again. The shrimp fried rice is still good and flavorful, yet this time my rice had a few crunchy bits of rice in it. Moving on to the sushi, I did not like it at all. For this restaurant to be known for their sushi, it's very low grades of meat. I kept it simple and just got a shrimp tempura roll that came with mixed crab, and it had no flavor other than mayo, the seaweed was chewy and it was nothing fresh about the sushi. I don't mind imitation crab mix, but this one wasn't good and I could barely even taste the shrimp tempura. Overall, I like Ra Sushi but I wish the food could be more consistent.

After this discussion, I said fine and asked for a menu. They then told me I had to get up and order at the register and view the menu glued to the counter. They took the order of a couple who sat down maybe 2 minutes before me in front of me. I will never come back to this place. They seem to be the last man standing in this dining hall, and with this kind of customer service, they won't last much longer. GENERALIZED REVIEW:…read more Came here with a friend from theatre after a full run--he had this place recommended to him by another theatre friend, so we're just passing on the word. The plaza was a bit confusing to navigate, and I'm pretty sure if the place weren't full of Asian parents and their kids, it would've felt like the shadiest place ever because you have to enter from the back. Otherwise, the plaza had a lot of great-looking stores overall. My first go-to: I've loved drinking Kirin Light ever since I discovered it in Chicago. The flavor is literally so light, with a slight acidity that brightens up my meal. The sake here was frankly also delicious. I didn't order it, but my friend did, and they had it warmed. The flavor was soothing and subtle, almost like tea. It was exceptionally easy to drink, and the ocean-themed ceramicware was a beautiful touch. We ordered two rolls: the Shaggy Dog and the Truffalufagus (a fun tongue-twister). I personally chose the Truffalufagus (which is not fun to spell) because it seemed like the most unique dish on the menu, and I enjoyed it very much. What I liked most about it was that it was subtle yet impactful. I also loved the textures--from the internal crunch paired with the fresh jalapeño to the softness of the fish. I'm glad I gave this roll a shot, and I would be excited to try it again anytime. The Shaggy Dog was great, but it appealed less to my flavor profile. It was a little too rich and creamy for me. I recommended this place to my BF as a potential future date spot--I personally think he would like it... if he weren't the type to enjoy AYCE sushi so much. If they had more unique rolls, I would definitely come back just for those. I was tempted to order the Surf and Turf for this round, but I didn't want to seem like a glutton, hahaha.

The Chawanmushi was decent but it was a little different than I expected. It had a little bit more liquid at the top of the egg custard. The flavor was fine nothing overpowered and it was soft and had that gelatin mush to it. The carbonara udon pasta was creamy and tasted exactly how I imagined it would which was smooth and creamy with a little crispiness from the pieces of bacon. Just make sure you mix the egg into the pasta to give it that rich creaminess. The only dish I would say that was underwhelming was the crispy rice. I guess my expectation would be a little less rice and a balance of the crispy rice around it. It reminded me more so of a thick fried outer crust. However, I did like the fish and meat they used on top of the crispy rice. They all had their own flavors. The Handroll tasting is probably the most interesting dish I ordered. It seemed to have a good portion of fish and they try to keep the seaweed nice and crispy by leaving the plastic film over the seaweed. The flavors of the Handrolls were subtle. They did make a nice presentation. The salmon flight was pretty good you definitely could tell from the different cuts and fattiness of the salmon. My favorite was the aburi cheese the scorched cream cheese gave the salmon a melted coating of cheese and made it silky and smooth. The nigiri platter was almost like a flight of nigiri. In the order I ate them they got progressively better. My favorite was the scallop and tuna. The only roll I tried was the royal chutoro. The portion was a good ratio of rice to fish and the tobiko gave it a slight crunch. as service and parking. The parking costs $10 and it's only Valet. If you decide to park on the curb somewhere you will get a parking ticket (I saw a guy placing tickets on cars). The atmosphere was upscale and you can tell they try to emulate Japan with the decor(zen inspired). Overall, the fish was tasted fresh and the vibes were there. However, I do think everything was a bit overpriced compared to competitors.
