Close to time square was walking distance from our hotel. Service was slow and looked like they were working with limited staff. Staff were very friendly we had Sandy she was very nice. They have lunch options, HH and main menu. There is a lot of variety to choose from and options for everyone. We went with the sushi rice which looked yummy but was very overcooked making it extremely chewy. Gramercy roll was the best came with yellow tail, salmon and tuna. It was perfect. My favorite was the garlic fried rice. SO good I could have just eaten that. We also got a green salmon salad mixed with the right amount of citrus and nuts. Over good experience.

This place is not bad, it just slow service and the foods are just aok. Was in Times Square for a show and got an hr to kill so went here for a drinks and few bites. The place was not that busy on Sat evening (6pm). Clean and greeted by staff at the front and shown to our seat right away. Nice and cozy and dime lite place with cool music as background. Our waiter came writhing 5mins and we informed him that we only got an hr before we have to go, and ordered couple dishes and a huge big as* cocktail. You would expected the drink would come out first...but nope 15mins later, the foods came out and we can't find our waiter at all. We ate the foods and finally we saw our waiter (25mins later), whom saw me looking at him and he noticed that my drink is missing (since there are only 4-5 tables occupied). He brought the drink that had been sitting at the bar for a long long time. By the time I got it, we almost finished with the foods and the drink is WAY too big to drink within 10mins. No sorry or nothing...I drank as much as I could for a HUGE cocktail that costs $60. The foods are just okey, nothing special nor really Japanese at all but if you want something fast and without waiting, well this would be it.

Not a bad restaurant to dine at before or after a Broadway Show. Came here on a Wednesday evening after work with a friend. Didn't really need a reservation as there was still a handful of available tables to sit at, including the sushi bar. They had a Valentine's Day special where they were offering Surf N Turf ($54), so I ended up getting that. This was served with hibachi vegetables and white rice along with a half lobster, which the meat has been pried out and cut into smaller pieces, and hibachi filet, which they cut into cubes. I ordered the filet medium-rare, but it felt like it came out closer to medium-well done. My buddy I got dinner with ordered the Wagyu of the World section. This was a three course menu that costs $69 per person. He choose the A5 Japanese Wagyu Tokyo Broil and got the meat rare, which turned out to be a good move as they overcook their meat. This came with an onion soup, ichi no salad, wagyu fried rice, and hibachi vegetables.

Can't go wrong with this spot. Love the variety of sushi here, everything was so fresh and delicious. Great quality of food and flavorful cocktails. Hazel was our amazing server, he provided some recommendations on specialty rolls. The holy crab roll and chili ponzu yellowtail roll were my favorites. The baked stuffed salmon and cold water lobster fried rice is a must have. Their signature cocktail, mermaid's brew was so tasty, highly recommend this drink. The variety of sweet mochi trio was the perfect dessert to end our dinner. The strawberry and mango mochi were my favorites. Dimly lit and nice ambiance, it was a quiet evening since I went on a Monday with friends. I would definitely come back and also check out their happy hour.

Yikes! This is what we call "grocery store" sushi, which seems like a Good idea at the time but never really pans out. Giving extra stars for the friendly staff and the spicy tuna roll is good. We ended up getting the 'sushi for two' because the rolls on their own were wildly overpriced. Kudos for being open late(r) on a Monday night!

My daughter wanted to try los tacos number one right next-door and when I saw the tacos, I immediately said I was not eating there. I was lucky enough to find this place right next-door and it was happy hour so I got a spicy tuna roll and two pieces of yellowtail and an edamame my side for only $16. What an amazing price right in Times Square and the sushi was very delicious. All of the food that we had in Times Square was pretty crappy. This was definitely the best place we ate in Times Square.

They were so awesome they made me cry!!!!!!!!! Literally tears of joy!!!!!! The entire staff especially Levi and the women in charge the night I used my birthday discount blew me away in how well we were treated right down to the Pink T shirts in honor of breast cancer month. So EAT SIP DONATE WE DID!

Me and a friend stopped in this restaurant for lunch. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted and sat at a booth. Levi was our server and he was nice! We had the tasting menu and we ordered: Spritz Up Your Life Old Fashioned Garlic Edamame Ra ckin Shrimp shrimp Tempura roll Ra ckin Roll Sake Flight Hibachi Filet mignon and chicken Seafood Udon Toasted Cheesecake Chocolate Brownie The food and drinks were so good! My favorite was the Udon! All in all an amazing experience!

I loved Ra when it was opened in Baltimore. Visited one in nyc. Great food. Service is great. Corn place. Pretty dark inside. With red theme. Got the wings. Delicious. Salad great. Tuna salad amazing. All fresh tasting. Fast service But no more cucumbers salad. That was my favorite. Warm sake was great too. Try if in the area. It was pretty empty. So not much of a vibe. But i was ok with it

My partner has been raving about Ra Sushi for a long time, and I finally got to try it out this past week. We went for dinner, and the place was pretty crowded, but there was no wait and we were seated right away. We started with one of the shareables, which was okay, and for my entree I got the shrimp hibachi burrito. It was filling, but flavorless without the sauce that came with it. I thought the food was all overpriced and our waitress was sort of pushy. Nothing was bad, just typical Times Square fare.

    SHRIMP TEMPURA ROLL
    Gavy C.

From the moment we walked in, the place made a great first impression. We were greeted quickly and didn't have to wait long at the door. The lighting was dim but not too dark -- very calming and perfect for a relaxed meal. It also wasn't crowded at the time, which made the atmosphere even nicer. It did take a little over 10 minutes for our waiter to come back and take our order, but he was very sweet and polite. Looking at the menu, I personally wished there were photos. I'm not very familiar with sushi or Japanese dishes, so it would've helped to see what the rolls looked like before ordering -- but that's just my preference. Now the food -- SO good. Everything was well seasoned and not too salty. We ordered the Ra'ckin Shrimp, the crunchy shrimp tempura roll, and classic California rolls, and all of them were 10/10. Definitely would come back!

Per RA Sushi's IG bio, they acquired Haru and it's a new owner but the same team. I bring this up because I'd go to Haru frequently before seeing a Broadway show and go to their old location downtown by an old apartment of mine. I have not been back to RA/formerly Haru since the pandemic though and I don't know if they're just trying to claim they have the same team to get its loyal customers, but the experience felt completely different? The flavor was just missing across the board. I ordered the Wagyu beef (the Australian filet cut), but it was overcooked and my medium rare request was cooked medium. The taste was bland - from the steak to the fried rice and hibachi veggies it came with. I didn't even bother packing the leftovers in a to-go bag. The onion soup, however, was surprisingly good, and I did enjoy the tuna crispy rice from the happy hour menu. My Tito's mule was watered down and the salad's dressing was overly tangy. The service was attentive and despite it being really busy, the server checked in on us, so no complaints there, but the food really felt like a miss. The spring rolls from the happy hour menu were just okay, and my dinner companion who ordered chicken teriyaki described it as "fine," nothing special. I kind of wish I had ventured somewhere new rather than trying to relive the nostalgia of Haru.

This is one of my favorite restaurants OF ALL TIME!!! Everything about this place is amazing!! I love the staff, ambiance, and the food. The restaurant itself is so beautifully decorated and I love the atmosphere it provides with the lighting. I have come here many times and my favorite item by far is the garlic edamame. I don't know what sauce is on it or how it's so good but I literally DREAM about it. Also, the sushi is so delicious and the drinks were incredible and unique. I would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat.

To drink, I had a Hot Organic Super Matcha Tea for 4.95. It was alright tea, and I wish teas were included in the price point, as otherwise, this place feels pretty traditional. In terms of food, I only ordered from the seasonal menu, so I'm not sure how the rest of the dishes are, but from what I had, I would go back for a light traditional meal. My appetizer was the Dashimaki Tamago/だし巻まき卵たま, or sweet savory omelet with daikon for $6.98. This came with three pieces along with a little dollop of grated radish. The pieces had a light sweetness to them along with a bit of savoriness. They were juicy and a bit bouncy while maintaining some softness. This was standard and good. My main dish was the $19.98 Beef Tan Tan Udon, or ground sirloin beef, spicy broth, baby bok choy, kikurage mushroom, scallions, and sesame seeds. While I have preferred udon from spots like Raku, the udon had a mild chew to it, and they were still good. The broth had a mix of sweetness and spiciness with a nice depth of flavor. The vegetables inside tasted fresh, and the meat added some richness. This was good as well. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to go here, but the food was good. If you're in the area and looking for no frills Japanese dining in a more comfortable atmosphere at pretty decent Midtown East prices, I would recommend this place.

I really enjoyed their niku udon. The broth was flavorful but not too salty. The menu offered a variety of options, all reasonably priced between $10-20, ensuring great value for the quality provided. I would come back to Tensai for some comforting Japanese udon noodles!

A quick snack turned into a $120 bill after tax and tip. My favorite was probably parts of the Uni Hon Maguro Hara Don. Yes, the rice should be warmer and definitely seasoned better, but passable. The seafood was fresh, but the otoro and chutoro were a tad underwhelming. Hokkaido Uni should have been sweeter and creamier. Hamachi sashimi was fine, and so was the Ankimo (though I would have preferred it creamier). Unfortunately, the Sake Clam Miso was overcooked and not enjoyable. I would totally drink that slightly spicy clam broth like a shot though if they sold it that way. Lol Anyway, not on my top to return list, but I would certainly give it another go and try a few more items before making such a conclusion.
