Great atmosphere but the pricing for the drinks are outrageous even on the happy hour. I was very disappointed for the happy hour rolls. We ordered spicy tuna rolls and california rolls. It was not freshly made. I think they make it and stock. So you will know when you get the rolls it's not good. Also, this restaurant needs to find a better benders for seaweed nori sheet. It's old. This place is ok. It looks nice, and overall has a nice ambiance. But nothing particularly interesting or memorable. Uninteresting menu with many rolls having the same key ingredient or two. We tried the CHILI PONZU YELLOWTAIL ROLL - Just ok Roll was Spicy yellowtail mix, cucumber, avocado, jalapeños and cilantro; topped with yellowtail I think it was $17-$18 for 8 pieces - not worth more than $10 to me. There was enough sauce in the middle for 10 rolls. Pot stickers were nice and hot, nothing special. Drinks were ok. I tried their Lychee martini and it was good. I had a coupon for my birthday, so I decided to swing by this place. There is a pretty extensive menu, and lots of options for you to choose from. Some of the other menu items, like the hibachi, were a bit on the pricier side to my surprise. There were a lot of creative sushi options; and it took me a minute to narrow it down to two rolls. I've been dreaming of their calamari for close to ten years (since it's been so long that I've been in Plano area). Brought my boyfriend here and he was just as amazed as I was. So glad we had an amazing server, Blake. He was so kind and helpful with his suggestions & making sure we ordered a well rounded meal, flavor wise. His suggestion for the naughty toro roll and garlic dipping sauce for edamame were spot on. I drink a LOT of water and he made sure my cup never even got close to empty. Blake was thorough and consistent in checking in on us. Great guy. The manager even stopped by to make sure everything was great and of course it was. Just... no. We came here for a date night, which doesn't come regularly since we have a child, ha, so we were excited for some good sushi! Our usual sushi spot is a modest place in McKinney, but man, does it blow away this place. The ambiance is nice/hip, but not really cozy. We sat by the bar in their high tops. First off, the cocktails are NOT good. I will usually still finish a drink even if it's ok, but I could not... and passed it on to my husband, and got myself a sake instead (can't mess up sake, ha). The cocktails aren't cheap, either. Then, when reading through the menu, it seemed like every roll was missing fresh fish. Everything sounded mayo-y, fried, and lacking in fresh fish options like salmon. It just seemed like the same ingredients for every roll. We prefer rolls instead of nigiri and sashimi, and so it was a bummer to not have many fresh roll options. Every roll we ordered was just sooo overly creamy (drenched). Good sushi doesn't need to be covered in sauces, fried, panko'd, or cooked. Don't get me wrong, I like those types of rolls too (they're fun), but not EVERY roll. We usually like to get a variety of rolls and have one fresh, one fried, one unique sounding, and a restaurant favorite. We had finished eating, and then suddenly, the lights went dim and the song "Shots! Shots! Shots!" came on VERY LOUD, while servers walked around handing free shots to anyone that was there. It was not what we expected of a supposedly nice sushi restaurant, ha, and felt more like it got transformed into a college town bar. Our waitress said that the company had just implemented that, so it's a company mandated thing, and not the manager or owner's doing. Definitely an odd thing to add, especially with the restaurant being kind of empty (we went on a Saturday evening). Awkward, ha. If you're looking for a good sushi restaurant in Southlake, skip this chain. I'm sure there's better. read more

The location is Southlake, ambiance is trendy cool, service was solid without being too much, food looked great and was stellar! We started with dumplings and some kind of fire shrimp. Both were great and increased the excitement of the meal to follow. The sushi and sashimi had solid portions of fresh fish that tasted fantastic! The Crazy Monkey Roll was a family favorite. It presented well and tasted even better. Loved the sauce! My daughter raved about her ramen and the friend rice was great as well. The only negative was that they offered free edamame since it was our first visit and then charged $7.10 on the bill which I never saw until after I paid. They were fine, nothing special, and I'm not worried about $7 bucks, but not worth it. As a whole it was a great experience and we totally plan for a return visit soon. read more

Worth every penny! I would recommend coming during happy hour for the pork gyoza, TAKOYAKI, and viva Las Vegas roll. We never had Takoyki before and this one was filled with squid which was a nice surprise. The sauce really makes the dish as well. It complimented the takoyki perfectly. The Viva Las Vegas roll was fried but had a chilled centered. The piece of shrimp were HUGE. And very filling. The shrimp chili roll also has LARGE shrimp on top along with a very spicy jalapeño. I recently had a incredible dining experience @ Ra Sushi in Southlake, from the moment I walked in I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. For starter I got the garlic ponzu, pork gyoza, sashimi & fried rice with steak with side of melted butter. Sashimi was incredible fresh & melted in my mouth. He ordered a California roll (that's his gauge of a sushi restaurant because... How could you mess that up?). I ordered a rainbow roll. So this place has a late night happy hour. We drove all the way from forthworth to try it out. I know this is a chain sushi restaurant, and they have one here in dfw. We got in, and these host or waitress give us a look and just keep walking around like 3 times when they aren't even busy at all. The guy at the sushi bar was making food and had to yell out and greeted us. Like a good 7 minutes wait, got seated down. Our waitress came and greeted us and passed out the menu. We were looking thru for about 8-10 minutes. She came back and checked on us, and I said it our first time here, and we wanted to do happy hour. She says we get a complimentary Edamame for the first time, so she lets us look at the menu again while she puts the order in the kitchen. We finally picked out what we like to try in the Happy Hour menu. She came back and started asking what we wanted. I pointed out most of the happy hour food items, and she also acknowledged it was HH Menu. I think it was like another 8-10 minutes before the Happy Hour start. She doesn't even give us a heads up that we can't order beforehand. She should have let us know that we can wait for another 8 minutes and she will order it for us. The food came out, and most of it is ok! We finally got our bills, and I was so curious why the price is different than the Happy Hour price list. I got the manager to come, and he was saying sorry and went to check. The conclusion was that our waitress put in the order before the happy hour started, so their pos didn't change. I mean, we specifically said Happy Hour????? What a bad service. She went along with us, pointing what was good in the Happy Hour menu. What a joke. The manager didn't want to override the price for us or do anything. Customers are always right, and I don't know what to say about this situation. Couldn't satisfy me at all. This was our first time here! We had made reservations through open table. No wait at all unlike other restaurants even with reservations you've to wait! Beautiful decor and ambiance. Great and fast service. Alex was our waiter and he had the best suggestions. Truly felt like he was looking out for us and we bought everything he suggested. We enjoyed every bit of it and so full had to pack most of the entree home. Our reservation was for 6:45 on a Friday night and was able to take advantage of happy hour. You really can't get wrong with whatever's on the menu! Give yourself ample time since it's a very crowded area and it's difficult to find parking! I love this place! I just discovered it last week with a friend on a Wednesday night. I made a reservation for 6pm but it didnt seem like i needed to there was definitely space for us and it wasnt too busy. On the weekends i bet it gets poppin tho. There is limited parking available so come early if ur on a date or something lol The vibe was awesome i liked the red theme and the high top tables. It was spacious enough to not feel crowded with the tables next to you which is nice. Everything i tried was delicious and their menu was MASSIVE so i will definitely be returning for happy hour (4-7 i think) i had the nutty salmon salad and it was so delicious im still thinking about it tbh. The salmon dumplings from the happy hour shareable menu were also awesome! Both cocktails i tried were yummy and they had so many options even just on the happy hour menu so I'll definitely be returning to try more of them out! This is a real hidden gem / if u havent been here and like a sushi vibe you'll definitely wanna hit this place up! My only complaint is that the service was a bit weird - our server was kind of awkward and the salad came out a bit later than the rest of the food which was fine but i felt rushed by the check coming out and would have ordered more drinks if it hadnt but i felt like i boxed everything up early and got the check while we were still hanging out.
