Louie and Johnnie's is my family's go-to spot. I've had many many meals there, often with 10 or…read moremore relatives. The staff is warm and professional. There are many staffers that have been working there for more than a decade. Every meal begins with a delicious salad served family style. Every appetizer, pasta or chicken dish I've ever had here has been really excellent. There are classic dishes, and others you might not have had before. Portions are quite large. The large dining room accommodates couples and foursomes and larger parties. There's also a somewhat separate dining room, often used for gatherings.

Met up with a group of friends here, including one visiting from Florida, and the night carried a…read morebit of nostalgia since we had all worked in this space before it became Louie & Johnnies. It's always interesting to return to a place with history, and thankfully, the current experience holds up. The restaurant was moderately busy, but everything flowed smoothly. No waits, and the staff struck a great balance, attentive when needed, but giving us space to settle in and enjoy the company. Parking is easy with a free lot in the back, plus additional street options. The space is open with warm wood accents that give it a comfortable, inviting feel. We sat in the main dining room and started with the Hot Antipasto Deluxe, a generous spread perfect for the table. It didn't stop there, as they also brought out salad for everyone before the mains, a classic, welcoming touch. I ordered the pappardelle with chicken in a vodka sauce with a dollop of ricotta, rich and satisfying. Others enjoyed dishes like Chicken Piccata and Chicken Parmigiana. Portions were more than enough, and by dessert, shared chocolate lava cake and tartufo, we were completely full. A relaxed, accommodating spot that works especially well for groups. Definitely a place to linger and enjoy.

You could tell right away this was more of a local favorite than a touristy spot, which we really appreciated. They service was so attentive and appreciative of the customer experience My husband ordered the chicken piccata and said it was amazing. My son had the chicken Parmesan, and the portions were huge. I ordered a linguini pasta dish that was also delicious. We finished with cheesecake for dessert, and it was incredible. One of the things we loved most was the family-owned feel and seeing so many locals and Italian families dining there -- always a good sign that the food is authentic and well-loved. We honestly almost made a second visit during our trip, but family plans got too hectic. Would definitely come back again. Love finding places like this.

I loved the fried zucchini sticks because they were so lightly battered and delicious. The crab dip was delicious too but the fried bread chips were a bit hard yet okay. The white chocolate bread pudding was warm and delicious. My husband and son had the chicken parm and said it was average, nothing to write home about. My husband ordered the clams casino and they were very tiny. The mozzarella and carrozza was okay. The salad was small but fresh. However, my Italian dressing tasted watered down so I didn't use it.
