Considering I had already paid $500 for diagnostics, the overall savings were minimal. If you're looking for a significantly more affordable alternative to the dealership, this was not my experience. Dropped the car off and later that afternoon they diagnosed bad oxygen sensors and the ignition coils also need to be replaced.. the cost of repair was about half the price BMW dealer quoted a year ago saying that the oxygen sensors were going back agreed to the repair and had my car back the next day running like new again.. Spending the 4 grand for peace of mind is better then shelling out for a new engine if it fails. However, they are the Subaru specialist in the area so I had to do what I had to do . I brought my car in for excessive smoking. over the phone Aaron was convinced my car had a vacuum leak . brought the car in , he said they have to charge 150$ to inspect the vehicle so they can see all modifications done to the car, great that's fine. the list of inspection was pretty obvious things such as tires lose air , fender liner is rubbed and no battery tie down etc (things I don't need anyone to tell me) not a problem whatever , then was told it would be over 1k to see if it's the valve seals leaking and then he provided a quote for a rebuilt motor or a new one 6-12k was told not to drive the car is pretty much a bomb ready to blow up . I pick the car up and I sell as is for cheap . come to find out , the PCV valve was bad and needed to be replaced (65$ part) and the car is better than ever with it's new owner . To give the company the benefit of the doubt, the PCV valve is a common (mod) to the wrxs to help with catless smoke .... However 65$ to fix the car VS 6k-12k is a CRAZY difference. It's unfortunate that I had to take a big money loss but I hope my experience can help someone else!!

They managed to finish the inspection at about 9am with a pass. However, they found a small leak in my power steering fluid hose. He called me and I accepted that they go ahead and order the hose and I'd get it done there. I am very pleased with the service I received and how knowledge Ken was with my car. He also took pictures of the hose and everything surrounding it so hubby could see for himself. Side story: I had taken my vehicle to another shop close to work and they quoted me $700 for the job. They did not explain anything to me and quite frankly I wanted another opinion). I will be coming here from now on! I also like the idea that they are local being 2 minutes down the road from me, and they've been in business for many years and not a big box company.

I had my vehicle towed there (it's $600 for each tow) and even spoke to someone there, told them what kind of vehicle and what was wrong and was told to bring it in for an estimate. NOBODY told me it would be $158/hour to diagnose...nobody. I even spoke to the mechanic once it was there, someone at the front desk and there was NO mention of this. I read some of the other reviews and I'm getting the sense they definitely take advantage of people if the situation calls for it. I called twice to get a status with no response or call back in that month and a half worth of time. Finally called yesterday and was put on hold a few times (it seemed they were looking into an issue), then a new service writer told me that he just started three days ago, read the notes that said to just "call owner" and says oh gee that would be $158/hour since it wasn't running (nobody at the get go told me that, nor after or since until now) AND my vehicle has been sitting there for a month and a half or more!? I would have made other plans if I knew this. So then to top it off, I get hung up on (I was completely calm on the phone), call back, leave a message and then eventually connect about an hour later. Now all of a sudden he says that the lead mechanic already did 1.5 of work that I'd be charged for and fixed a switch and got it started but won't stay running and needs more work. The lack of communication in this is absolutely astounding and now how do I trust anything!? All I got was an oops sorry nobody called you and told you how much it would be or even gave you anything in writing or authorized any work!? My family owns a shop farther away and that is completely illegal!! I have no choice now but to have them continue and told them to cut it off at a certain amount of hours. I will update once this situation is complete and fairly if resolved. Now I'm skeptical but if I can't at least get the vehicle running to make it to my house, I will have to get another $600 tow. If they can tell me what's wrong with it, even better. I'm hoping for the best and will update once this is resolved.

When I got the car back my headlights did not work. I went back to let them know and left my car there. They said they would take a look. Another week went by and I had to call again to follow up. They said I would need to take the car to Tidewater Auto Electric because of the wiring. I did a quick Google search and it suggested to check the headlight relay and ballasts. I ordered the parts on Amazon and changed them myself. I am not a mechanic and was able to figure it out. The headlights worked after that. They have a Superman figure displayed there at the register. I guess headlight work is Superman's kryptonite. I would be very cautious of the accountability at this shop.

I used this shop a year ago and decided to use them again. This time I needed the engine mounts…read morereplaced. I arrived at the shop as soon as they opened and dropped off my vehicle. I was told I would receive a phone call when the work was done, but about an hour before they closed, I had not heard from them so I called. I was told the vehicle was ready for pickup and got there right away. The following day I looked over my vehicle and noticed that there was grease coming from the driver side front axle and it had leaked all over the suspension, steering, and wheel. The grease was leaking past the inner cv joint boot clamp which I believed was due to them during the removal/install of the axle. I told the owner of the shop the problem I was having, and he said "that's strange since they didn't remove the axles but used a jig to lift the engine" but he said he would look at the problem. He stated that the boot had slipped and they had to reposition it and re-band. I also had the brake booster replaced during this visit. Once I arrived home, I looked over the vehicle and noticed that the front axle had some fluid on it and opened the hood and saw that the master cylinder was overfilled and leaked brake fluid below it. I also noticed that there was a plastic cover lodged below the master cylinder and I tried to remove it but it was stuck. I then opened the driver's door and noticed that the footwell light wasn't on. In addition, the air ducting in the foot well was loose and not connected. I removed the panel to gain access to it and found the footwell light wiring was not connected and repositioned the ducting and connected them both. I also noticed that there was a screw underneath the floor mat and was wondering where that mounts and after a short inspection of the area I found where it needed to go. I looked under the vehicle and noticed all four brake bleeder screw dust covers were not reconnected. I noticed that the driver side front axle looked old and determined that the axle must have been replaced due to the inspection paint marks made at the factory did not match the color of the other areas on the vehicle. Also, if the axle boot was readjusted and re-banded like the owner stated, then why were there old clamps on the axle boots? Additionally, the plenum cover at the base of the windshield had about 2 feet of the mounting tab broken that the gasket is fitted to. I found broken plastic pieces on the splash shield underneath the vehicle. The work accomplished by this shop was very sloppy and careless. I would avoid this shop at all costs. I highly suggest that you find another repair shop to go to or pay the high fee at the dealership to have your vehicle repaired.
