I can be very critical of restaurants. I have over 20 years food service experience. From the UK to the USA. I will say that every dish that was prepared for us was absolutely phenomenal! The timing of the service of the dinner was very good. No long waits, and the food was served hot, the proper temperatures. We had steamed mussels with the home made bread. The pairing was excellent. My wife has never eaten alligator and she surprised me by suggesting that she would like to try it. The taste was very fresh, lightly battered and spiced to perfection. My wife does not like spicy food, but she enjoyed it. We next tried the soups. She had the Mariners chowder and I had the gumbo. I have lived in Southern Mississippi, and I will say that the gumbo is by far one of the best that I have ever had. The Mariners chowder was also very good, but the gumbo was exceptional. For our entree my wife had the Lobster roll and 1 had the Jambalaya. The Lobster roll came on a grilled roll and the lobster stuffing was very fresh tasting. The Jambalaya was spicy the way it should be. The serving size was abundant. For dessert we had key lime pie and cheese cake with a strawberry. Both were very very good. The wait staff were very friendly and answered any questions that we had about the menu.
