She checked in on us multiple times, never rushing by any tables, running the front of the house as a true professional. DineLA January 2026 review only. Your experience may differ if you dine outside of DineLA times. I will have to preface that the staff was very apologetic and said sorry multiple times. We booked a reservation on Resy for their outdoor heated patio. They are dog friendly! Outside vibes are amazing. Romantic, clean, beautiful. The bathroom was also clean and smells nice. First, it took a while to get seated. My husband said they seem frazzled. When we were seated, we wanted to order from the DineLA menu. However, the meal took 2 hours because they said the kitchen was severely backed up since it was the first day of DineLA and everyone is ordering it. Since they make everything from scratch, they didn't want to compromise the quality of the food so that is why it took a little longer. I wasn't too bothered by the wait time because I loved sitting out on the patio but it was extremely long for a simple dinner. For DineLA, it is $35 for a 4 course tasting menu. Key word ... tasting. The portions are small so don't expect a full meal if you're super hungry. Food: Soup of the day - it is a potato creamy soup. I thought it was a bit salty and overly peppery. My husband said he finished it in 5 spoons lol. Gnocchi and bolognese - best part of the meal!! Their gnocchi is so delicious and the cheese sauce is amazing. There is a baked crispy part on top that is so good. I would come back to order it. Bolognese was good too but gnocchi is clear winner. Chicken Parmesan and pork Milanese - it's okay, nothing special. The polenta and vegetable is good. Dessert - ugh super disappointed because I love panna cotta. Had high hopes for this place based off other reviews but maybe we came in on a bad night. First off, the ambiance was really nice! 5/5 Next, the food....a disappointment. The garlic bread, amatriciana, bolognese, burrata and panna cotta were delicious but everything else was meh at best. The calamari had deep fried veggies... not sure if it was a filler to fill up the plate because I didnt order veggie tempura. The sausage pasta was bland. Literally no flavor. The flank turducken invention was unique. Sauce and risotto were good as the side but confusing as to what we were eating. Food overall was a 2/5 at best. Lastly, service was great. No hostess for 8mins upon arriving was concerning. At least the rest of the staff were kind enough to let us know she was coming. Rest of the night went off without a hitch. Menu is not expansive, but, very specific and well put together. Our server was on point during the service. Drinks were tableside with the quickness as well as our order. Starter calamari was well seasoned with just enough breading. Mama ordered the Radici salad and I had the Beet salad. Very good. Came here with friends to celebrate a birthday. Surprised that the restaurant wasn't very busy for a Friday night. We were the only ones seated at the outdoor patio and the indoor restaurant wasn't very busy. Started off with a bottle of wine, sorry but I don't recall the name. We ordered the Insulate di Barbabietole which is the roasted beets, mixed greens, goat cheese, evoo and balsamic vinaigrette. Loved the salad but what was missing was the goat cheese, that would've taken the salad over the top. Next we had the Involtini, which is the baked eggplant, housemade ricotta, heirloom tomato sauce and parmigiano. I'm not a fan of eggplant, but this was delicious. The pastas are homemade. We had the Gnocchi di Palate Radici, housemade potato spinach dumplings in a stilton and parmigiano cream al gratin. The gnocchi were soft and pillowy delectable morsels. Loved the cream sauce it was in. We scraped the plate clean. The second pasta we had was the Paccheri Ala amatriciana. The menu indicates the pasta was penne, but actually the pasta that was served was rigatoni. It's served in a creamy vodka sauce with bacon and shallots. We expected this pasta to have some heat to it. Both pastas would've been much better if they were served hot. Both dishes were served luke warm. Service was friendly and attentive. I can't speak highly enough about this restaurant and the amazing family that owns it, including staff. I took my son and his friend to the beach for his 13th birthday. The hotel that we stayed at recommended this restaurant. When we got there we were greeted by friendly staff and the place was beautiful. They seated us right away. Once looking at the menu I quickly realized that the menu was fine dining and I was scared that my picky eater son and his friend wouldn't eat anything off the menu. So I went to talk to the staff and was greeted with the owner and the chefs. THEY WERE AMAZING!!! They gave me plenty of options for the kids, that weren't on the menu. My son said it was the BEST pizza he had ever had. My son's friend said the same about the spaghetti and meatballs. My food was above and beyond wonderful. This family made us feel like family!!! My husband and I first came to this restaurant as a group of 10. We came in only to have a quick drink and headed out to a show. We have been meaning to come back since September! This restaurant is stunning inside. Just very beautifully decorated, lighting, the ambiance is sophisticated, and cozy. They do have limited parking below the restaurant. When you first come in, there is a nicely stocked bar. Augustine, the bartender, was very welcoming and accommodating. The owner, Laura was at the host desk. She sat us and then moved us closer to the window per my husband's request. We were there last night. Sunday night they serve lasagna, apparently it's really good there. I'm not a huge fan of lasagna, but I will say I tried it. It was actually very good, flavorful, good amount of cheese, and meat. I think I liked it because the lasagna noodles were thinner than what is normally served in other restaurants. We also had the salmon limone, garlic loaf, Italian sparkling wine, gelato, panna cotta, and tiramisu. Everything was wonderful. We had a great server too! His name is Gian Franco. He gave his recommendations, he was spot on! This restaurant is also able to accommodate events, I think they said up to 100 people. Recently had a dinner here with a small group. The restaurant itself is nicely designed, feels newer and is pretty spacious compared to other beach city areas. Everyone that we interacted was friendly. Unfortunately they are pretty strict with their menu selections - no substitutions or protein add ons to salads. This was tough for us as someone in our group had dietary needs and the server wasn't able to answer questions about ingredients etc. Dinner tasted okay... a little bland. We visited last night for a Christmas dinner with a group of eight, including child. Because we were with kids and carrying gifts, finding parking was difficult, so we used the valet service right in front of the restaurant. Unfortunately, this turned our evening into a very upsetting experience. After returning home, I realized that a small pouch I had accidentally left on the car was missing money. Inside the pouch was 100,000 Japanese yen in cash, and it had clearly been taken. This was travel money for an upcoming trip to Japan from today, and because of this incident, we had to leave for our trip without it. What was supposed to be a joyful Christmas dinner turned into a very unpleasant memory. Losing money this way is unacceptable, especially when using a valet service that should be trustworthy and professional. Please take responsibility, properly manage your valet service, and return the money. This should never happen to any customer. read more

Downtown Hermosa has a lot of cute, good restaurants so we were excited to try this place. When you step inside, there's a bar, hangout area on your left and the sit down area on your right.we ordered their fito misto, garlic loaf, beets salad, truffle pasta, pasta with calamari, pappardelle alla bolognese and braised lamb over gnocchi. Their foods were just okay- i think their garlic loaf was the best thing that we ordered. Dined at Radici for the first-time last week for a 20-person company dinner. Had two types of bruschetta, two types of pasta, steak, and salmon. Pasta is house-made and perfectly al dente. Sauces did not overwhelm the pasta. Steak and salmon were both delicious and of good quality. Ambience was great- perfect for a date night. Service was solid. Cocktails were elevated (try the Espresso Martini made with NEFT Vodka- so smooth!). Dining room is roomy enough to accommodate large parties. Had a chance to chat with Laura, the wonderful proprietress of Radici. What a lovely woman...and so passionate about the wine and food she serves. She introduced me to one of her chefs after I complimented the food. Had me feeling like a regular. Can't wait to take the missus in for what I know will be another top-notch Italian dinner. THE BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN THE SOUTH BAY (MAYBE LOS ANGELES!) Radici does not have its front door on Hermosa Avenue, and that's a good thing, because otherwise you wouldn't be able to get a table! They have a nice big sign out front, so just walk up the steps to the pretty courtyard, go up the stairs to the right and you will find a beautiful venue: high-class, beautifully decorated and with a great view of Hermosa Beach. The wait staff provided awesome service. They were very friendly, helpful, well-informed and their recommendations were superb! However, it really doesn't matter what you order, because everything on the menu is spectacular! The pasta in every dish we had was perfectly cooked. My wife and I ate at Felix the night before, which I thought had the best pasta in Los Angeles, but this was better, which is almost unbelievable! Also, the waiter suggested wines that paired perfectly with what we ordered. Radici is among the best Italian restaurants in Los Angeles, right up there with Funke and Bestia. But it's really not expensive, so it is a much better value! No need to go downtown anymore. If you want an experience that competes favorably with the best restaurants in Italy, go to Radici! I've been here a few times, and it's missed the mark every time. The service is quite lacking... The first time I came here, we sat for almost a half an hour before even being brought water. The food is subpar compared to other local Italian spots, despite the stories of their recipes being these home recipes made from scratch in their family's kitchens. The last time I was here was for my mom's birthday, and the service was again pretty terrible... The next table over had two ladies eating, and one of them puts her phone on speakerphone at full volume and has a loud conversation for almost 15 minutes straight, which was super disruptive to everyone around, and the staff did nothing about it. It's a nice looking place, but that's pretty much where it ends. I won't be back, there are far better options in the area. read more

All of them were reasonably good. But none of them were "wow - I want to order THAT again." Portions were on the smaller side. Service was fine. Overall, we enjoyed the dinner. We had a 7 pm reservation on a Thursday during DineLA week. Radici appears to have ironed out the issues they had earlier in the DineLA week. We arrived about 20 minutes early and they asked if we could sit at the bar while our table was being prepared. We discovered it was happy hour and ordered dirty gin martinis for $10. The bartender was very friendly and the happy hour menu looked great. We'll definitely return for happy hour some day. We were seated around 7:15 and decided on the Dine LA menu, 4 courses for $35 - a wonderful deal for this restaurant. We also ordered some garlic bread for $9. It arrived nice and fresh. It wasn't overly garlicky and I'm not sure it was worth $9 but we wanted some bread to go with our meal. First the minestrone soup came. It was very good. Not too heavy and with a nice balance of broth and vegetables. The pasta, secondi and contorni came out on one plate all together. (Perhaps this helped keep service moving better during this busy week). We both ordered the gnocchi de patate radici and eggplant pamesan. The gnocchi was amazing and you can never go wrong with eggplant parmesan. We also received a small portion of polenta (very good) and just a couple of bites of vegetables. The portions are smaller but it was a lot of food and a perfect amount of each. Dessert was panna cotta and it was a very tiny portion. I'm sure outside of Dine LA week it is a larger portion. Our waitress was very good. We had a minor issue with the bill and she quickly corrected it at the end. Overall Radici was a wonderful dinner choice.
