The quesabirria tacos were good, not the best ive had but they were good. The tacos felt light which i liked but the sauce was just throwing me off, definitely not the best ive had either. The consome and quesadillas were good but mostly just mid. I used to frequent Rafas almost every day during the pandemic when they were in Empire. Then he moved to McHenry near the Modesto Walmart. I usually ordered the pastor tacos and today I was in the area, stopped by and ordered 3 Pastor Tacos. Came with pickled carrots, delicious grilled onions and a few slices of a radish. Ok, this truck was around the corner from the movie theaters- Regal. I said "why not have some tacos before the movies." I got the quesabirria plate and I thought they were good. The tortilla wasn't covered in oil and it had a good ratio of the cheese and meat. I added cilantro and onion to them, but it wasn't complete without the consume. Messy to eat, do make sure to have plenty of napkins. I was left satisfied with fingers of birria smell lol My bf's super burrito, in his words, was ok. He wasn't a big fan of the chile chipotle they used. I personally didn't like the salsa that came with my plate. I'll keep looking. It's good, not great or as some have said "It's the best taco truck in Medesto "...nope. Service was okay, I asked the young lady how much more it would cost for a forth quezabirria taco to be added to the 3 that came with the plate which cost $11.50 or so. $5.00 for the forth taco, maybe...no. The 3 tacos I did eat were okay, not necessarily worth the extra three miles I drove out of my way to get them. My wife's shrimp burrito was a mess. Goopy rice with 4 medium sized shrimp stuffed perfectly in a huge tortilla, I didn't score any points there! They did have a small shade canopy with two tables for getting out of the sun. Nice. The truck itself was clean enough as was the lot it sat on. Overall, it's just okay. Wouldn't go out of my way again to revisit just okay. Last words...still looking for that one truck! read more

BEWARE: Food is undercooked & you can get sick. I used to get tacos from this food truck on McHenry but after ordering lengua and tripa tacos I will never go here again and don't recommend anyone else to. The food was undercooked and the quality and service has only gotten worse. I don't know if the owners hired new cooks that don't know how to cook the food but I was very disappointed with the food and they will not get my business anymore. Every other Thursday , I have an appointment that precludes me from making breakfast at home . So I usually order from the Community Hospice cafe, good food reasonable prices , I order on line and send one of my people to pick it up, put this particular morning, I missed the order deadline for breakfast. So I need to run an errand and I thought breakfast burrito! Late enough it was kind of like a brunch meal .. so I stopped into Taco house, in the WalMart plaza on McHenry .. no one greeted me , no one at counter, could hear people in back , but no one responded to my hello so I left , thought now what .. there at the end of the driveway I saw the Orange trailer and the doors were up , so I stopped at Rafa's Taco. Ordered Chorizo breakfast burrito. I was very happy with the burrito, great flavor , displayed some knife skills with that chop on the filling , noticed another review used word minced , for this particular dish that is best part , sure it probably saves the owner some $ on ingredients, but it was nice to have the chorizo evenly cooked and dispersed in the filling .. got a bag of garnish on side , lime, carrot, radish and two small containers of a green salsa. This is the worst taco truck. I ordered a super burrito and it was salty. The burrito mainly had rice and beans . The meat was hard and I asked for sour and it did not have sour cream . The burrito was beyond disgusting. read more

Not good but fast. Highly don't recommend the birria tacos. Unless you want dry meats. Also, Expensive. $50 for two plates of birria which is only 6 very small tacos and a decent burrito with a ton of potatoes. All the things shouldn't be this expensive. One of the best taco trucks I've been to in a cool minute! The service was great, I called ahead and placed my order, they told me to sing by in 20 minutes and I just picked up my food on arrival. They're located in a car dealership parking lot, there's some chairs and tables with napkins to sit at while you wait, or you could just wait in your car, and the truck is a very identifiable bright Orange trailer so you wouldn't misidentify it. My new go to taco spot in Modesto! I had carne asada tacos and my girlfriend had carne asada fries and quesabirria. Everything so good and flavorful, and great customer service. There is a building right next to it with tables and chairs for dine in. Also the tacos had this green sauce which was very good and with a spicy kick. $1.50 for tacos $8.50 for quesabirria $8.00 for carne asada fries Very satisfied, will definitely be back again. Service was slow. I ordered a regular asada burrito with everything. It was so salty and the onion flavor overpowered the entire burrito. I couldn't tell if they added the salsa. I also did not receive lime/lemons/jalapeños. In this case the lemon/lime was necessary due to the amount of salt. The quality of the meat was not the best either. read more

We've been here at least 5 times in 2023. They are really good!!! And we want to keep going but we are getting tired of their inconsistencies. 9 times out of 10 they are out of my favorite carnitas by 3pm!! It never fails, and is such a bummer after you drive out of your way to go this particular truck (on Mc Henry) versus going to 30 other taco trucks in Modesto but choose this one. When we ask them for extra salsa they roll their eyes and RARELY give us even one for 8 tacos. Same with the limes, if you ask they have a fit and NEVER give you more then 3 baby 1/4's for 8 tacos. Their taco truck tacos are 3 bucks now, the least they can do is throw a few little baby limes in the bag so I can squeeze them on the tacos. I love them lime on the tacos. read more

He has a huge selection of great choices the typical..Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas. Then his options expand to flautas, Enchiladas, tostadas, Tortas, Nachos, Carne Asada Fríes, Sopes so many options. He also offers healthy options lettuce wrap tacos and other items.. The meat selections were asada, chicken, al pastor, chorizo, birria, carnitas and if I'm not mistaken there were more. I have tasted the asada tacos, quesabirrias, carnitas tacos and al pastor tacos and they were good. I dislike when I eat tacos and they have the nerve and fat attached to the meat these tacos did not and that was a huge plus. The tortillas were dipped in a consomé and were nice and crunchy. Not the best in the 209 but not the worst. Everytime i go and order food the staff is super nice and accommodating, the area is always very clean which is surprising for being a food truck, they care about cleanliness and though their wait time is about 20-30 minutes, they do give awesome amounts of meat and portions. They deliver a good enough quality to the point of satisfaction, and even if we over order, food will always get finished! Dont sleep on this truck its a nice little gem. I only wish the truck was more of a late night/am type of joint for when i go drinking with my buddies or wanna bring my wife and siblings late at night.
