I was ready to…read morepay in full for it, but salesman talked me into the 'Extended Pay' program through Synchrony Bank and the 'Freedom to Ride' program! IF YOU CAN PAY, DO NOT USE THIS PROGRAM!! They automatically give you a credit card, over 30% interest! Before I got any paperwork for the 'free loan' they sent me an unsolicited credit card with interest on that card over 30%! I thought it was an unsolicited credit card so I cut it up and threw it away. Almost instantly, I got daily comments through text messages, why have you not activated your credit card? Your credit card needs to be activated immediately!! I don't want their over 30% credit card!! Followed by texts, counting down days to payment due! When I try and set up account on the Synchrony bank app., to make a payment, I find that without a Synchrony bank account or their credit card, They tell me that they can't find me and no payment can be made at this time. No Credit Card or Checking or Savings account, located with Synchrony. So I call them and get someone with extremely limited English at the Offshore Call Center!! This person tells me that they will only accept payments through the Synchrony Bank. Either mail a check or money order, or my personal bank debit card information. Tried to pay in FULL using my personal debit card, but would not accept payment more than $500.00. I am glad this is a one purchase only transaction, because I will never go back to a business that insists on me using their payment program, instead of letting me go ahead and pay for my purchase at the time of purchase! P.S. I do enjoy the trike, just not the company that I have to make the payments to!! I just won't be going back very soon to this business! I located a shop near me that lubed the squeaks and will do any future repairs I may need. Also, their "chat" is not actually live. They tell you they will contact you in a few minutes, but it's been over hours and I'm still waiting.

The other day, we were riding along the river path and decided to stop at Spoke for a beer after spending some time on the trail. We walked in, ordered a couple of beers, and the woman helping us immediately seemed annoyed that we were only ordering drinks. Her facial expressions and overall attitude made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. After taking our payment, she went to the back to grab our beers. We waited about seven minutes, which seemed like a long time considering we only ordered beer. When she finally came back, the beers were room temperature instead of cold. Normally I would have said something, but because of how short and unfriendly she had been from the start, I honestly didn't feel comfortable bringing it up. It felt like I'd just be met with more attitude. I still like Spoke, and I'll definitely be back for the breakfast burritos because they're great. I just hope this experience was a one-off, because better customer service and properly chilled beer would have made a huge difference.

Let me make it clear that I am not a typical all-the-time poster on these newfangled websites. I am definitely not a Hipster, Cheapster (though never was Rich & now not even a member of the Middle Class anymore), or Urban Pioneer. Or another latest fad follower or some other "here today-gone tomorrow" dropout rider either. I have probably used and owned bikes for all sorts of serious usages way beyond just recreational (i.e. commuting during high school, college, some employment periods, and forced retirement) long before many of you were even born. That places me as far from the mostly young, male, road warriors that buzz about locally or propose to "advocate" for the rest of the bicycle and tricycle participants as opposite can be. That said I will now comment on Raffi and his shop. I brought my 2 other now-considered vintage (40+ year old) speciality bicycles tor Raffi and his staff periodically for the last year or so from anything to tune-ups to fixing flats. He and his shop not only has quickly fixed those bikes up very quickly and nicely, These old "babies" worked better than new. The real test was yet to come as even I did not know this. My newer "baby" and favorite bicycle, my now decade old Brompton, was sent to a specialty shop for it's proprietary parts to be placed on it after a year of careful saving on my part. While that shop did it's work well as far as greasing/lubing & parts placement as ordered, they did not finished their work. My 2 wheels and brakes were not tightened up, the bike would not fold up very well, and it was not even in a ridable condition-much less a safe one. I did not take it back to the original shop as it was over a week since I picked it up from that shop. I was so embarrassed that I did not check it right after (easy to do as I carry the bike around alot). My sister recommend that .I take the bike to Raffi's shop and see what he can do. For a basic tune-up fee of $25 dollars, he and his staff went over the bike and tighten the various nuts, bolts, and screws of this bike. They made sure not only the bike was fine and safe, but any present and even future problem was addressed and fixed on the spot while I watched. That was a great relief for me. My Brompton works just as well as it was new now all of it's issues have been addressed. Please patronized this particular shop as these types of bicycle shops are so rare now with the current bicycle fad at it's height attracting many more bad bike shops. I am planning to return soon to purchase an accessory or two as his inventory is so affordable-yet not cheaply made or a pile of crap-for someone on a limited budget as I am right now. I've dealt with Raffi a few times since moving to H.P. because he's the closest shop to me. He may know how to fix bicycles, but he's a lousy actor. He can't begin to hide the fact that all he cares about is making money. The average poorer customer on a budget isn't really welcome; deal with him at your own risk! Against my better instincts/judgment I paid him $11 for a new (low-quality non puncture-resistant) tube and installation (which took him all of about 2 minutes). I tried to discuss/get him to focus on WHAT HAD CAUSED THE TIRE TO GO FLAT IN THE FIRST PLACE. He gave me a stupid explanation of possible causes, rather than address what is undoubtedly the real one (that spokes sticking through the liner punctured the tube) and I made the fateful decision to buy into his b.s. compounding my wasted trip by forking up the funds ($11 hits me hard. It's not in my budget, given that I'm on a fixed income....). I DID get to ride my bike back home. About a mile or so cumulatively (on well-paved streets). First thing next morning the same tire is flat again. Thanks a lot Raffi - your greed, laziness and selfishness are all outstanding! read more

The cheapest bike I saw was $900 with the most expensive being $14,000. The people working here are incredibly pretentious and rather underwhelming. I feel as if the driving revenue force behind this store are the deep pockets of Pasadena and the workers don't care or respect anyone else. I went somewhere else that encouraged me to repair my bike, and not buy a new one. I paid $200 for the same repair that Incycle quoted me $500-$600 for. I would sincerely avoid coming here and to look elsewhere for your cycling needs, unless you prefer paying exorbitant prices with a side of bad attitude.

Why do I ask? I ask because I the last time I took my bikes to you for service, one of service requests I made was to replace the rim tape on both wheels on the Pivot bike. I just went to replace the tires and to my surprise, the same damaged tape is on both wheels. Not only were you not able to diagnosis the front brake problem (which ended up being a bad rotor), you never replaced the tape which begs the question, what exactly did you do and what did I pay for? A simple clean and shine? I'm very disappointed. Needless to say, we have no plans of taking our bikes to you for service in the future.
