Rafik is a godsend! His shop, tucked neatly behind a neighborhood barbershop, is one of the only shoe repairs still open in 2020. It took going to six closed stores to finally stumble across his store - and boy am I glad that I did! Rafik has helped me with shortening a belt (and adding holes) and also did a great job with widening my mother's evening shoes. Rafik guarantees his work and even offered to widen them further should she need it. He's a true gentleman, as are the barbers who attended me once when he had stepped away. Excellent craftsmanship, friendly demeanor, very fair prices, and work done in a quick and timely manner. I have spent my entire adult life looking for over the knee boots that fit my tiny tiny calves. I decided to bring my new boots to Rafik because of his great reviews and I am so happy that I did! He was very nice and friendly. He took in the entire calf of my boots in just two days because i needed them for a trip and they literally feel and look like socks now! They are perfect! If I had 10 stars I will give them to Rafik. He completely fix two of my favorite pairs of expensive shoes. He recover a beautiful Louboutin pair of pumps that were almost ruined by another shoe repair shop, he change the sole and the tap, clean them and leave them almost as brand new. He was extremely detailed oriented (I figured it will be the case when I saw that aside from repairing shoes he is a an experience watch and jewelry repair expert), very fast (same day delivery) and the pricing was super reasonable. Stopped in for a battery change on my watch, he also cleaned the watch and tried to make a nick on the glass less visible - he wasn't able to because the glass was scratched. He told me he could replace the glass if I wanted, giving me price estimates for different quality as it compares to that of the original watch - was not pushy at all, just offered and was totally OK when I turned him down for now. Came by to get a watch battery replaced. Estimated time was like 10-15 min so I waited. Ended up being maybe 10 min? Price varies depending on the watch. Mine came out to $18 bucks gave a $2 tip to make it an even $20. Location is convenient and located at the back of the barbershop as others have mentioned. I went in on a whim, when I couldn't stand the sound of bare-metal-clanging-on-cement with every step I took in my *very* well worn boots. (Read: beat to death.) Rafik fixed me up while I waited, during which time I stared in fascination as he pried the mangled tip off the heel, cut the metal shank down, filed, hammered, sprayed...way more entertaining than staring at my phone! He fixed the scuffed & battered outside of the heel as well, and installed the thickest tip I've ever seen--way thicker than the multiple measly tips I've worn out before. I walked out in boots that looked & felt new, for a very affordable price. My shoes get battered to death, because I can't stand to spend the cost of the shoe just to fix them! Now that I've found Rafik, I'm eyeing what to bring in next. Great, family run business. There's also barbershop in front, and watch repair. Disclaimer: This was my first time bringing my shoes anywhere to get something done Came here Saturday at noon and brought in a pair of leather boots that had scuff marks and discoloration all throughout. Rafik's (son?) said I can pick it up the same day around 3-4pm and it would be $10 to shine the boot (remove discoloration) and $12 for the heel. He gave me a ticket with the amount due. When I got my boots back, I saw that they were back to their original color and even though I could see some cover up on some parts, it looked very good overall. What the... I love these guys. They care about the work they do. They are super friendly and always take time to answer my questions. If they charge a bit more it's because they take the time to do a good job. If you have decent shoes then it js definitely worth bringing them here. Also they replace watch batteries. It's subtle but doesn't look as good. used two different replacement heels on identical (except for color) shoes - they work the same, but it's weird. polished shoes even though I asked him not to - I said like three times "don't polish my shoes, I really don't want you to" and he ignored me, and he screwed it up (see below). used clear polish on shell cordovan shoes - this is a big no no. used clear polish on scuffed shoes - the scuffs are really shiny now too!
