Ambience is warm, intimate and friendly. Beef tartare was light but flavorful. Absolutely get the averted gaze if you like old fashioned's, spaghetti was probably the best I have ever had. Was charged a $200 fee because they wouldn't let me add another family member to the reservation. read more

Walked in on a Sunday at 6:30pm and I was seated no problem. Hostess and bartender were kind and accommodating. I had a grapefruit cocktail and the carta di musica, which was enough for one person. I'd like to come back and try a pasta. Overall, the restaurant felt calm, not overly busy, and felt like a cute place where someone could do work, have a coffee, or go on a date. read more

Very upset with how myself and my girlfriend were treated last night (3/21/25.). We requested the dining room and were confirmed in a text from the restaurant we would be in the main dining room. We got there and the host said there were no guarantees and could not sit us there. He suggested either right by the door which was awful or across from the bar. The general manager came out and said he was sorry but if we sat in the cramped table across from the bar he would make it up to us which he did not. The table was so small that it barely held our plates and drinks. We got so frustrated that we did not even eat our entrees because every time people got up at the tables on either side things would get knocked over on our table. I paid 325 on a Friday night for a terrible experience. I tried to speak to the general manager after dinner and he had left. (Our server was great) Very Disappointed with the management. Not the way to treat folks. We won't be returning. read more

Went for brunch and sat at the bar this past weekend. We found the staff (front desk and bartender) very unfriendly - it's kind of a stuffy place. I had an endive salad and he had scrambled eggs. The food was good - bread excellent. Considering the high prices, the iffy service and abundance of restaurants nearby, I don't think I'd go back to this place. The restaurant itself is very pretty, the facilities very clean and well done, cute place but bad attitude. read more

This restaurant is very cool right now! My friend bought a reservation on an app for 9pm on a Tuesday - it is very hard to get a res. I got the leek dish as a main and it was delicious if you are a leek fan! Did not see any celebrities but apparently they enjoy Raf's as well read more

Very stuck up about walk in business. Will tell you an amount of time and then when you come back hours later after waiting will just say sorry you haven't moved closer to seating. This has happened multiple times and I am local. Foods good but needs to figure out services portion. read more

Went here based upon some of the positive reviews and wish i didn't. The food is mediocre at best. We had a pasta dish recommended by the bartender and it was worse than anything i've ever made at home. We sent it back 3/4 uneaten and were still charged for it. Go down the street to Peasant. RAF's I my new favorite restaurant. They just got everything right. Beyond the food, the decor is impeccable, the vibe is just right and you leave feeling good inside. Also, if you're lucky enough to have Pheobe as your server you're in for a treat. She's a little ray of sunshine. read more

BE AWARE: DOES NOT HAVE FUNCTIONING RESERVATION SYSTEM IN PLACE FOR PARTIES OF 5+ Unfortunately I won't be experiencing Raf's because I could not get a response from the restaurant for a reservation for a party of six on a Saturday night two weeks in advance before it was entirely booked. I followed the instructions on Resy exactly to email the restaurant at the correct time in advance for a reservation (reservations drop 14 days in advance) because my party was 5+. The auto-response on all the emails I sent promised a response in 48-72 hours (so not really functioning for reservations). I emailed again. I finally walked to the restaurant on Tuesday and asked -- the very nice woman took my name and number and promised she would pass it on. I did finally get a response, with the excuse that they are closed on Mondays. But of course they they were fully booked at that point. read more

Incredible food. I had an amazing dinner here - the roasted chicken and mafaldine are must try's. Even the simple green salad with Dijon vinaigrette was perfect, though; great attention to detail in every ingredient. I've since returned for coffee, pastries, and lunch and have not been disappointed. Sunday breakfast at Raf's was pretty solid - the menu is somewhat limited but has enough to satisfy pretty much anyone's cravings. The must, of course, is the pastry basket (or a DIY version if you so choose). The chocolate croissant was lovely, the savory scone was warm and so delicious with the butter, and there was another savory pastry which I believe was an olive spread and sautéed scallions or garlic scapes and topped with lots of parm... that was quite a fun one! We also had the omelet with trout roe which was creamy and zesty and the breakfast sandwich which had some tasty sausage and broccoli rabe but left a bit to desire in terms of the roll it came on, especially compared to all of the other delicious carbs we had on hand! The restaurant in general had a bit of a scene-y vibe to it and yet there was an assortment of folks dining in: from families with young ones to C-list celebs. Overall, solid service and food - would be interested in checking out the dinner service. read more

Save your money and your FOMO. Blatantly overhyped and the food is inedible. Zero flavor (spanning from tasteless to over salted) and, despite a visibly busy and steaming kitchen, everything is brought to the table lukewarm or cold (except the white wine, which was brought warm). The bottarga pasta dish was worse than anything I've ever made in college on a very tight budget (and with elementary cooking skills). Honestly there's no excuse for it, even if we leave the exorbitant prices aside. You can get way better food from a food truck or mediocre chain...we're talking a million times better. Even the dessert was flavorless and lacked texture or care and seemed a bit rigor mortis-ized by refrigeration. I mean, how do you screw up dessert when your restaurant purports to be a bakery during the day? Our server was perfectly competent and did make an honest effort to appear hospitable but just wasn't able to mask her long-cultivated hostility towards customers (this was palpable from the moment we sat down, I promise you we were polite, uncomplaining and considerate and the blind pigeon-holing was unwarranted). There were other servers who brought the meals and desserts and they were actually lovely, as was the hostess and other people working up front, so I won't say the service is "bad," it's at least "effortful." Ambience was nothing at all special. If the food were great, I could have easily lived with the service and ambience, I can't say they necessarily detracted. But it really was terrible food, you'll wish you did anything else with that money. A pre-packaged sandwich of neon-colored lunch meats from the CVS down the street would have been infinitely preferable. read more
