Starting with Justin's prompt inspection, he objectively assessed the damage and walked me through the possibilities and next steps. He was realistic yet reassuring. Then the team of Camilo and Sophia were amazing. Arriving late in the evening they worked for hours on the water remediation job that included pulling off molding/floor boards and setting up fans/dehumidifiers. Despite the scope of the remediation growing, Camilo and Sophia showed their experience by staying calm and just working through the issues. Their professional demeanor and calm made you feel they were taking care of everything and things would turn out ok. The team provides an invaluable service in times of crisis. Bottom line, they will take care of you.

I've never had to use a Water Restoration service before so I browsed trusty Yelp and reached out to Fire & Water Damage. Glad fellow Yelp friend Karen W gave a glowing review! They seem to answer calls 24/7 and I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. Mike was main point of contact and gave us an estimate and scope of work. Basically, they had to tear out the drywall and insulation from the wet area, dry and dehumidify the area for days, and then put on moon suits and remove any mold. We were able to have 2 techs come on a Friday and then let the dehumidifier run over the weekend. We also had to tear out our upper cabinet since the top was damaged by water. On Monday, they came back to remove any leftover mode and patch things up. The total price came in well below the estimate, which is a huge plus. Very happy with the service and efficiency. If you ever suspect you have water damage from leaks, call these guys and get the problem resolved to ensure mold doesn't form or worst, spread. Note that their services are purely restorative - they'll dry out the water-damaged area and get rid of all the mold. You'll need to hire a plumber first to stop the leaks and then afterwards, a drywall contractor to patch up the holes with insulation and new drywall followed by texturing and painting.

We got a quote which was very competitive and reasonable and moved forward to setting a date for the crew to clean and do a deeper assessment. We had accidentally forgotten that we agreed for the work to start on a Thurs instead of Friday, and the office called right away to clarify and sent the team out very quickly after we sent them away. The cleaning crew themselves were great! Shu, the forewoman, was on top of it, communicated the problem and solution in a very straightforward and simple manner. Was very thorough with pictures, instructions, and her assessment. Craig identified that we may need a moisture barrier in the crawlspace to really help decrease the amount of moisture impacting the walls during the rainy season. Another quote for the closet and bathroom clean-up was sent to us, which had not changed in terms of pricing. We knew that the 2nd project would require a new quote later. After 3 days of drying, we contacted Craig to coordinate time for pick up of the equipment. We also received the finalized invoice- the cost ended up being nearly 2x the original quote, which caught us off-guard. Craig explained that the labor hours had to increased from an estimated of 4 hrs to 12 hrs and covered for travel (though we only live about 2.5 mi away from his listed office) and equipment loading time, which surprised us as it was never mentioned or called out. There was already a $100 service/trip charge, so for additional hrs counted for travel felt unreasonable. The crew was on-site for 5 hours max. He did give us a discount which was appreciated, but we felt that the quotes and pricing model were not transparent. This really disappointed us, especially given the quality of service and how easy it was to work with Craig initially. We had a 2nd project to encapsulate the crawlspace which we went with another company whose pricing ended up exactly as estimated, despite taking a 1.5 days more than anticipated.

They were professional and cleaned up well after the work. I also appreciated that they did attempt to limit the extent of the remediation as much as possible, working to preserve as much of the cabinets and structure. As for the cost, I felt it was quite fair. As a counter-example, I got an email quote from another provider that was almost 3X the cost, but didn't even know what the work was. So recommend you definitely get multiple estimates including onsite to verify the extent of the work required.

Their professionalism, expertise, and responsiveness stand out in every project. They've handled everything for us--from small, straightforward remediation jobs to an extremely challenging 13-unit apartment building fire where the sprinkler system caused significant water damage. She knows exactly what documentation is needed, how to communicate with adjusters, and how to move the process forward efficiently. Her knowledge saved us time, stress, and unnecessary costs. If you need a team that is reliable, experienced, and genuinely cares about doing the job right, look no further. Highly recommended!

t wasn't a great day when my tenant called and said there was a smell coming from under the house…read more We went over and looked. We had three inches of sewer water standing in the crawl space. It was a broken pipe. I called three companies for estimates. One estimator wanted me to lowball the estimate for number of square feet of floor space in the house for a better price. The other gave a low ball bid, but wanted 50% of the bid price up front at signing, which is illegal. And then ServPro came through with a upfront estimate that met our needs. They did the job quickly , professionally, and took excellent care of the tenant. However, as with any job , Murphy's Law can always put a glitch in the process. Servpro recognized the problem and solved it to our satisfaction. After building two houses, I know bad things can happen. I also know it's the way the contractor resolves the problem that separates a good contractor from a bad contractor. I would highly recommend Servpro to anyone that was interested in having work done. One of the nice things that we experienced is the foreman, Angel, was always available by phone. We must have had over 40 conversations over the course of 3 weeks. I doubt his phone rang more than once before he picked up on the majority of those conversations. When your home is literally floating in S**T, it really feels good to have someone that can help, that is professional, that is always available for reassurance. It's worth your time to get a quote from ServPro of San Leandro.

Jose, the manager of San Leandro, did not call us back after leaving three voicemails spread out throughout the 2 weeks. That is super unprofessional! The mold dog flagged all the places that were "remediated" by all action. The drywall with mold were all taken out but unfortunately the studs with mold were just encapsulated and painted over, therefore still exposing us to molds. I've learned that the proper way of treating studs is to remove and replace and if that's not possible, sand, hepa vacuum, antimicrobal and wire brush all the mold out of the studs. Unfortunately, we learned our lesson the hard way. Please be sure to properly vet your potential mold remediation company and understand if they do things properly and rid of ALL the mold. If you need your house to be medically clean of mold, steer clear from this company. They don't care about clients, they just want to get their foot through the door, get rid of the easy mold on the drywalls and not put in the hard work to really get the mold out of the studs. They will just cover up all the mold with white sealant and call it a day. Again we had an ERMI done two years later, which stachy and chaet still showed up. Learn about your molds, these are the baddddd molds. We then took things further and hired a mold dog & she flagged all the places we remediated. They're also not IICRC certified. Wish I had done better research earlier. See photos.

The…read moremen who did the manual labor to treat our mold and water damage were excellent, hardworking, and professional. All 3 stars is because of y'all My issue is entirely with management. After my insurance company caused complications that led to First Call terminating the job which I understood, I received an invoice in May of last year. I paid that balance in full with two separate checks within two weeks. I have the receipts, the copies of the checks, and the bank statements showing exactly when First Call cashed them. After a full year of zero communication, I woke up today to a voicemail and email threatening to send me to collections within 48 hours. They claimed they had been "trying to reach me" for 12 months, which is untrue. I checked my call logs and my email history; there was absolutely nothing. When I called and provided my proof of payment and the exact dates they cashed my checks, they admitted the "error" was simply because someone forgot to check a box in their system. It is incredibly stressful and offensive to have your credit threatened because a company can't be bothered to check their own bank deposits before sending out threats. As a veteran, I live by a standard of integrity and doing your due diligence. Relying on a "checked box" as the Bible instead of doing actual research is lazy and unprofessional. Do better, not just for your customers, but for the reputation of the guys out there doing the actual work.
