Came here last Sunday evening. The place is full pack and al servers are busy. Although we are seated right away, we waited for more than half an hour for our orders. When our server came, he is very nice and attentive and with a nice smile on his face. We just came from a day of hiking so we ordered the large slab of steak. -photos attached. Mine is the large rib eye and my husband had 14 oz slab of prime flat iron steak. The steak looks gorgeous. They ran out of soups so we had fresh and steamed veggies with it as well as baked and mashed potatoes. We both ordered medium rare. The steaks and everything on it lacks taste. I can't describe but the steak is so bland and despite adding some salt and A1 sauce, there is something missing. The meat is also very tough despite it being on the light to medium rare side. Summary: the place is clean (toilets needs a little cleaning tho), the decor is rustic, the seats are too close to each other and can become very loud if full, the location is easy access to freeway and easy to find. Lacks enough servers during busy hours, be ready to wait before you can order. Our server is great and very attentive (Hispanic looking guy - forgot his name tho he is awesome). Food is ok but not great. Price is ok too but I felt we could be gotten a better steak elsewhere and pay lesser than how much we paid here. I have seen some sandwiches and pastas served on the other tables and they look great and the portions are huge. I cannot comment on the taste as we only tried their steaks. This is a hidden treasure that the locals and motorcycle groups have I was happy to stumble on. Needing to find food and a toilet, we get off the freeway and lucked out. DECOR Cabin like with antlers as chandeliers, displays of the different harley davidson motorcycle groups, family photos, hilarious quotes posted on the walls of the men's and women's bathrooms. It truly is an all American backwoods restaurant that you'll love. FOOD The food was great!!!!! Its hefty large portions of fresh delcious goodness through and through. They must have the cow and chicken in the back yard cause it's fresh and mouth watering. PEOPLE Being in Fallbrook and knowing there's a popular KKK clan group here, I was at first nervous of stopping here to eat and use the restroom being a minority but once I saw staff and other costumers who looked like me, felt at ease that this place wasn't a threat. This place is open for inside and outside. There are plexiglass barriers. If you're concerned about COVID Don't go here. Several of the wait staff on,y wear their mask over their mouth. The owner or manager wasn't wearing one at all neither was one of the guys working the bar. People don't wear their mask going to the bathroom. A lot of people waiting outside not wearing masks. The food was good but I don't feel like they're following guidelines to be open and safe. I think I overheard the have been fined and I'm not surprised. read more

My wife and I drove to Rainbow Oak Restaurant on Father's Day, and I am thrilled that we went. Lots of parking, in door and out door seating and the most wonderful people to talk with while you wait. The staff is extremely helpful, kind and friendly, making us feel special and welcomed. We met the owners and WOW, what a great couple. They are very particular that their staff is cleaning every table perfectly and the surroundings. They want all of their customers to be well cared for and have the best service possible. At noon on the tv monitors all of a sudden there is the American Flag flying at the top of a flag pole and the National Anthem starts playing. Immediately everyone, customers and staff, in the restaurant stand, face the flag and cross their heart with their right hand or salute until this honoring of our Nation has concluded. Have been here MANY MANY times.I ALWAYS get the chili. All other food is exceptional too. Today however I was sorely disappointed in the chili. it was more like meat stew...thin broth with meat. NO CHILI FLAVOR... just brown meat and juice with altogether about 4-5 beans in entire bowl. It was all i could do to eat it. Honestly no red at all or chili flavor.BLAH. Great spot for traditional American comfort food. I've been here many times and have never been dissatisfied with the food or service. The rotating specials are fun as well. On my most recent visit I tried the chicken and waffles and it was one of the better versions I've had.
