Got to the speaker expecting someone ready to be done with there day like I was. But instead I was greeted by a wonderful gentleman. I came here for the first time on 8/18 for a pre-opening event. I had free meal coupons from my work, score! Ever since, I have been hooked. The staff is pretty talkative and very friendly. The nice thing was that they seemed genuinely enthused about their job. They always say something silly when you get up to the speaker like, "We love chicken yes we do, we love chicken how 'bout you?" at first it was a bit awkward and I wasn't sure how to respond, now I just order. Lol. On my first visit I asked for bbq, they only have ketchup, honey mustard and their cane's sauce. I prefered ketchup to the cane's sauce at first, but now I can't get enough of it! To me it just tastes like a mayo and ketchup mixture maybe? With a lot of black pepper, but it is just perfect with their food! Chicken strips are really good, they resemble and taste like fried chicken but without the bones! The chicken is fresh and nice quality. Mildly seasoned and very crispy! The perfect bite, and the best way to eat cane's in my opinion, is to take a bite of chicken dipped in cane's sauce, and a bite of the Texas toast. All at once, in harmony. Its just perfection. Once you run out of sauce it just isn't the same. Texas toast is so good! It is thick, soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside, and oh so buttery! It has sesame seeds on top, and really tastes like a regular sesame seed bun but better. The fries are really good most of the time, they've been a little cold a couple times though. They reminded me of runzas fries, or maybe culvers fries? Crinkle cut and not too salty, a lot of places have issues with over salting. Menu is limited and consists of 4 options. The caniac, the box combo, the 3 piece, and the chicken sandwich. That is it. Or you could order X amount of chicken for a crowd. They have soft drinks and homemade tea or lemonade. They sell the tea and lemonade by the gallon, or the same sizes as soft drinks. I haven't tried the tea yet, I tried the lemonade and I didn't like it. It was okay but not what I look for in homemade lemonade. Join the caniac club! Ask for a card when you go, you bring it home and activate it. Its completely free! When you sign up you get a free box combo! Every time you go, have them swipe your card and earn points. The customer service, convenient location and the amazing food will have me coming back again and again. I didnt think I would like this place as much as I do, so beware! Canes is an institution in Baton Rouge. I grew up eating when I lived there. Brings back memories of my teenage years whenever I eat here. Don't expect it t be anything but it is, just really great fresh to order fried chicken fingers. Oh and the sauce it's my favorite I sometimes buy it by the cup full to take home. They do one thing and they do it really well. I wish more places would stop trying to please everybody by trying to make so many options poorly. Just do what you do well! read more

This place is awesome! I always come through the drive through with my dog in the car and they usually give him a treat! They always say something funny at the drive through, and I've only really ever had one bad experience out of the many many times I've gone, but compared to most other fast food places it's an overall better experience. And a bad experience here is considered exceptional anywhere else. They forgot to ask if I wanted ketchup one time out of 100. If you don't get the lemonade or an Arnold Palmer then you're doing it wrong! Also, you can trade the Cole slaw for more toast, but I love the Cole slaw especially if you eat it first while it's still cold. I'm headed there right now to get some delicious food. Keep it up! I would give zero stars if I could....my family and I went through the drive thru and ordered our food. The two people I was with got their orders correctly, but my order was completely messed up. I ordered a box combo with no slaw and extra toast, an extra sauce and unsweet tea. First, the tea I got was sweet. It would have been fine if this was the only problem. However, i only had one toast (not even any slaw) and only ONE sauce. Pathetic. This is probably the worst experience I've had. Usually Cane's is pretty efficient and correct. This was out first visit to the company. We both had the chicken fingers. We both loved the taste and the texture of the chicken. It was also very hot, which we really appreciate. The fries were the thin crinkle type I favor, and these were also very good. The garlic bread slice was a nice surprise. It was hot, tender, and really good. Now, the sauce.....I 99.9% of the time HATE special sauces. I loved this one. I dipped both the fries and the chicken in it. Now.....if they would only open one here at Shadow Lake in Papillion!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved this food. Yes, we had to do the drive-through due to social distancing. It was worth it. Canes sauce was good. They have the good ice... we call it crunchy ice. If you don't know what that means I'm sorry. I would not choose to eat here again as it's lacking for me. It has pretty good chicken strips and the dipping sauce is good. I like the freshly brewed lemonade and tea. However, the coleslaw is a complete waste of space and plastic. Store bought coleslaw is the exact same as here. Nothing special is the cole slaw; small portion and lacks flavor. The same goes for the texas toast. Very little flavor. It is a complete waste of space and calories. Do the community a favor and either salt the texas toast with a bit of garlic salt or just stop putting it in the container. My last experience here the chicken strips were way overcooked and hard which was disappointing. I still think the chicken strips are the best around so hopefully that was an isolated incident. It would be nice if the price per strip were more in line with the menu since the chicken strip is the only reason to wait in line here. read more

Cane's seems to dwell in a sort of fast food prugatory, not bad enough to actually complain about, but not good enough to be allowed on the right side of the Styx either. The food is all beige. The fries are generic, similar for Culvers or Sonic. The chicken is a tad greasy, but has an admirable crunchy exterior. But it has no flavor, good or bad. None. Sauces are either their special house sauce--oddly lacking flavor too, or honey mustard or ketchup. No BBQ. There is a giant hunk of Texas toast, again flavorless. No honey or butter, just a big hunk of bread, bigger than the chicken strips put together. It seems to serve no purpose other than filling up space in the basket. Aside from the cole slaw I could have added, I pretty much had what they have to offer. No other choices, no color, no flavor, nothing but smiles and happiness from the staff. Have been impressed by their fast service and high quality/fresh tasting food. I have been to this new raising cane's location a few times and the food has always tasted consistently good. I also enjoy the simple menu selection. I was a little hesitant at first because they only serve chicken fingers in basically 3 different portions. But then I realized why when I tried there food why add more to the menu when you have perfected the current menu. This probably helps speed up service and cooking times because the cooks only have to worry about making a few things. Overall I am really impressed with Cane's! read more

We enjoy the food. The chicken is good. I prefer the Kringle cut fries, the slaw is good, the bread is good, the service good. The wait was long, but not bad. I would have given it 5 stars but for one thing. I noted that the drinks by themselves were $1.79. The boxes of six pieces were $11.92+\- . But when I ordered the boxes without the drinks, they only knocked off 20 cents per drink. While I can't buy my own drinks for 20 cents, that seemed odd. read more
