Chilaquiles with Egg and Beef Breakfast Plate

Food was good. Flavors were very authentic however Im A bit disappointed tortillas aren't made in house . Food came out pretty quickly and tasted fresh. Service was impeccable!

Woah!!! I tried Raizes for the first time last weekend, and I had such an incredible experience. The restaurant looks unassuming--the strip mall was pretty dead around the time we came (8 pm), the sign was flickering, and there was no one else in the restaurant. But we were not deterred. As soon as we came in, we were greeted with a smile. The menu is fairly small, but it still had so many great options. We ended up ordering the Enchiladas Suizas and the Enfrijoladas. Both were incredible--so flavorful and rich. We also received a complementary rice-based soup before the entree, and a complementary rice pudding after. I also loved both of those so much. Overall, I highly recommend. Probably some of the best Mexican food I've had, and when combined with friendly staff, quick service, and great prices, you can't beat it!

Best Authentic Mexican Food in Texas!!! Their menu is simple yet so damn flavorful! We ordered the Chilaquiles with Arrachera Breakfast Plate and the Raízes Classic Breakfast Plate. So much food for such an incredible price coming from someone who is from Miami we're all the food is pretty pricey everywhere you go. The service was lovely the older gentleman was very informative and helpful. The ambiance is very homey home cooked meals. Highly recommend to anyone :)

Bean and cheese tacos

This is a an authentic gem of a place, y'all. My brother recommended this restaurant and he didn't disappoint. We stopped by an early morning, and our breakfast was authentic Mexican, full of flavor, and at pleasantly large portions for the price. I got simple bean and cheese breakfast tacos, and they were large, packed tortillas - they didn't hold back. Same with my husband's, he commented that his chorizo and egg taco was great portion and not oily, which chorizo typically is. He loved their menudo, and couldn't stop raving about the flavor - and this is a rarity for him. On the way out I noticed they have their own blend of coffees and they even sell it, how awesome is that! The gentleman who took care of us was fantastic from beginning to end, and something about his service reminded me of home in the best of ways. This truly feels like one of those places I will happily share the word on so more people try this place out. This is a great hole in the wall, and the ratings are a big tell - it's a must try and we cannot wait to be back.

Went here because a friend of ours recommended them to us because their food was good and sauces were excellent. We stop by on a Tuesday for lunch and it was quite busy for a small shop. The service was good and the food didn't take too long to come out. I thought their dishes were ok. The meat dishes didn't have much flavor but it was very tender. Sauces helped a bit but we want to come back and give them another try on different menu items. The queso and chips tasted kind of bland and water down. Best item was their broccoli and zucchini soup. It was delicious. We will be back to support again.

Alhambras

Love this place. We recently went to Chunks for a burger next door ( quite good) and noticed Raize's. After look it up and seeing great reviews we popped in for lunch in a Sunday. Yum! The staff is very sweet and the food was quite authentic homestylye Mexican. They served a lovely soup (zucchini cream I think). We ordered empanadas which was served with an incredible sauce. I had the Alhambras and my husband had something I can't pronounce let alone spell haha but was basically chicken enchiladas with a bean sauce, quite spicy, which he loved. The different agua frescas looked divine but we made the rookie mistake of ordering iced tea (great but we didn't look at the drink menu). We will definitely return.

First time here with the family. Location is small but cute. Super friendly staff, very attentive and welcoming. The food was nice and hot, big portions as well.

The service is always superb here. Im not sure if he is the owner or the manager, but he always always has a smile on his face. The frescas are sooo good. My cousin and I came for a late breakfast today.

Omelette plate

I have been coming here for decades, and this place never disappoints. Great quality, good people, fairly priced.

When you walk into a Mexican restaurant and you are the only gringo, you know it's going to be good. If abuelita likes it, I'm in.

The food is outstanding, and the waitstaff is polished, friendly, and very professional. Pricing is surprisingly low, especially considering the quality and how popular this place is. Unfortunately my phone battery died, so no food photos this time. I ordered the Ocampo Combination Plate -- two cheese enchiladas, a beef taco, guacamole salad, and a chile con queso puff -- and it was very good. That said, the real standout for me was the queso we had to start. Good margaritas, great energy, and a place that clearly knows what it's doing.

The place is huge but there are a lot of tables and close together. I can see why because they were packed. It is popular. The servers were spot on and those servers hustled. NO standing around waiting to be told. We were all impressed by the waitstaff. The only one in our party that said something was our guest who ordered the Popeye enchiladas. The spinach was not squeezed dry and it made the filling watery and bland. If in the area, we would go again. It is a nice family restaurant.

Great Mexican restaurant!…read more We ordered the el molcajete, port carnitas tacos and steak and shrimp with a couple of margaritas and I have to say , I was very very pleased with our meals. Since moving here to Texas it has been quite difficult to find a restaurant that serves meals outside of Tex Mex . Something told us to explore the area a bit more and thankfully we did ! El fogon has been one of the most authentic Mexican restaurant we've had so far. In the month of May, my husband and I have ate here twice and every plate that we've ordered have been incredibly delicious. The meats are very tender & seasoned extremely well. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for dishes outside of the typical Tex mex. The menu has so many options and everything looks and smells so good. Their margaritas are made very well which is a bonus! I appreciate the assortment of seating (booths , patio ,tables & bar top ). I loved the decor and cleanliness. Our service each time has been top tier. The staff is friendly , fast and accommodating. Based on our experience both times, we are definitely returning and encouraging friends to try. I am ready to return already. Yum !

The food always taste fresh and it's hot and so tasty. We arrived right as it opened at 11 AM so it was a sparse crowd but even when it's busy, you don't have to wait very long and once you're seated, it's a great experience. I ordered the fajitas and had a add-on of some cheese and Serranos to make it nice and spicy my wife ordered the quesadillas with chicken. Also very tasty. I got rice and beans with mine. The Borracho beans were so delicious and the rice very good as well. My family and I had been at this place for a while, and it doesn't disappoint…read more There are two sections that I can tell, one with a bar and one without one. I believe they have a private dinning area too (one of the school events happen there). It's a very colorful place and has an inviting atmosphere. The bar has a bunch of TVs, for those who want to catch the game. The food honestly looks average, but the taste is delicious. It's also vegetarian friendly. My wife, the vegetarian, asked if they can customize the Tex-Mex Enchiladas (instead of the plain cheese version), and they did. They made her a spinach and cheese, and she loved it. Two of their bean choices were vegetarian (not the charro beans which has bacon), and I think they had two vegetarian rice option too (no meat broth added). My oldest got the stuff avocado with chicken, which she liked a lot. My younger kids got the chicken nuggets, which kept them happy. I got the Ivannita, which is a little bit of everything. If you are hungry, this is a good option, as the Crispy Beef Taco comes out first. The taco shell was freshly fried. They use to have a free ice cream section, where you can get a mini cone with soft serve, but it's not there anymore. :( Overall, this is a great place to eat at with the family.
