Was in last week and when asking for something (extra fork or soy sauce) the waitress would say "yeah, sure..." and look bothered by the request. Never checked in after food came. Never offered refill for the soda. Food is okay but has been progressively getting worse. Our first visit I remember the bao buns being particularly good and now the pork was lacking meat, the buns aren't soft, and they are severely over sauced. I didn't like how the "sauce" was a blob of mayo........I mixed it with the leftover dressing from the seaweed salad and made my own sauce. Appetizers - steamed veggie gyoza had great flavor, the sauce was delicious. It was very very soft for my liking but the flavor was definitely there, my sister agreed. Seaweed salad was good, standard. Ambiance was nice, the area behind the restaurant is awesome, lots to see and do outdoors. We were so excited to try this place as ex-Sound residents! However, I'm afraid the experience was pretty average, especially given the somewhat high prices here. The first thing we noticed was the very poor service. We stood awkwardly in the doorway for a very uncomfortable amount of time (the restaurant was not busy at all) before being asked "Can you just sit over there?". Not horrible, but overall just uncomfortable and weird. They may want to consider just allowing self-seating. We then sat at our table for another very extended period of time before being offered anything to drink. Normally, we would have just politely left but we were famished and were planning on trying this place so we stayed. Overall just a very inattentive and odd service experience. Once we finally ordered and received our food, we were ready to dig in! The pork buns were honestly AMAZING. I was blown away and would honestly just get these as my meal next time. Though, they were a bit expensive to just be an appetizer (in my opinion). The kaarage chicken was also delicious! Again, wishing portions were bigger here, but we were blown away by the flavor! Unfortunately, this leads to the main course: ramen. If you have "ramen" in the name of your restaurant, you'd assume this is the specialty, right? Not here. I was so disappointed by how bland the Garnet bowl was. I had to ask for some soy sauce to add to mine just to "spice" up the flavor a bit. It's also a pricey bowl of ramen with a VERY small portion of meat (the pork is the best part with very good flavor), and not even a whole egg. While I might return here in a pinch and order the buns and kaarage chicken, I would NOT order the ramen again. $17 is way too high to not be an excellently flavored and well-portioned bowl. This adorable little ramen spot just opened up near my house and I was really excited to check it out. We went in a big group with three kids and we were seated in the back of the restaurant, which was perfect. We all ordered different items and were happy with our choices. I ordered the Pearl and my husband tried their Spicy Quartz. Both were very different but equally tasty. We love that there are so many options for those of us who don't eat pork! That is always a challenge for us at ramen spots. We also tried the chicken karaage and our nephew had the Spicy Tuna Sushi Bites and he loved them. The beef gyoza were crispy and delicious and not too greasy. All ingredients were fresh and the ramen noodles were cooked to perfection. I would love to go back to try other broth options. Our server was the sweetest and I wish I remembered her name! She commented on how well behaved our boys were, which was nice. Stopped here for lunch. Service is excellent and the ambiance is also good. Food is meh. It's not bad at all, but each dish was a little off for me. I had the Pork Bun, Spicy Wonton shrimp, and they Spicy Garnet Ramen. 1. Pork Bun texture itself didn't feel done. Bun was field with like large field greens or lettuce that made eating it awkward. 2. Spicy Wonton Shrimp was good but its a dry bite. Its just wonton paper wrapped around a shrimp, so its lacking fat or creaminess because the wonton can be a lil doughy where it meets the shrimp. If they added a creamy filling to the wonton shrimp or a creamy dip, it would be good. 3. Ramen was meh. The seasoned egg was my favorite thing, and was top tier when compared to other ramen spot eggs but the rame was pretty meh. Texture of the noodles where a bit under done and the broth lacked depth. They have other options though. Overall, if you're in the area, you should go because the food is decent. I just wouldn't go out of my way to revisit. read more

This is such a cute ramen shop! I love how all the broth is plant based so as a vegetarian it gave me options. I got the spicy quartz ramen with tofu because it was cold outside. It wasn't too spicy but very tasty. I did have to wait by the "please be seated sign" for a while before having to flag someone down to be seated but once they knew we were there, the service was fine. i went to rakkan ramen for the first time after a recommendation from my friend and he had a server named "hannah". when i arrived at rakkan ramen the server or host "hana" was so nice when i arrived and promptly escorted me to my seat. when i was sat my server hannah was so informative on the things on the menu and she recommended for me to have the pork bowl and gyoza for an appetizer. the food was so good and was brought it out in perfect timing. as soon as i finished my gyoza i received my pork bowl and the whole time my server hannah was very attentive and replacing my drink in time. while i was eating the energy of the servers really elevated the energy of the restaurant. i'm so excited to come back next time read more

First of all, ramen here is pretty good. I don't know why once i had it, I don't feel like it is very full or heavy. For shio soup, they did homework pretty well. It is not that salty. For ambiance, it is quite crowded but the restaurant is very nice. For service, i am not sure that it just opened or else. My friends and I had to wait for waitress/waiter to take my order for almost 15 minutes after waiting in line for 20 minutes. Not sure if they all share the tip or if they have specific tables assigned, but no one was very enthusiastic about their job here. As mentioned, I ordered the spicy tuna, but this one is a bit odd. Had very little fish flavor as it's all finely chopped with spices. When it some to sushi, I like them but seldom order them so not really sure what to expect, other than these ones were just ok. As to the ramen, it was pretty much as my first time in that the broth were a bit salty. Overall, the noodles were ok but the overall portion was a bit small for the price. My son and I both expected to the noodles to be more chewy, fresher or just better than what you can make at home with the various instant ramen noodles these days you can buy at grocery stores.
