This grocery store is probably my new go-to grocery store because it's in the same plaza as the 24 Hour Fitness that I use. For the longest time I thought it was a Safeway's like the other nearby Safeways, but after my phone number didn't work for a half dozen times I finally figured out that I was probably wrong. Decent store, very clean compared to the nearby Safeway(and also seems to be more well-stocked than the other nearby stores). It's also open pretty late, I think up until 11:00PM. read more

It's clean, friendly clerks, and has the basic grocery options but also some premium organic brands as well. Prices are also reasonable. I love their ice cream section. Fills the market between Safeway and Whole Foods. They also have a huge Hallmark section on the left that's an added bonus. read more

Local grocery store in fremont with a TON of amazing offerings. There large wine selection is hard to beat and they have weekly savings that actually help keep your grocery bills low. Safeway has their Friday Specials and Raley's has theirs on Monday. So you get to enjoy both.. win win.... They have a hot deli section similar to whole foods that is sold by the pound... a huge selection of ethnic grocery items and specialty ingredients for those that are low carb, paleo, gluten free, or all of the above. I am a fan of their produce section. have not had any issues purchasing fruit... it will easily last a few weeks without rotting or going bad. I appreciate that. If you are int the are of walnut and paseo padre, give them a try. Huge store with tons of selection. And the prices is pretty moderate. I shop here at least once a month......... read more

I am a huge Raleys fan and love shopping there. This review is for their home delivery service. During this Covid19 crisis, we decided to order online. We were not able to get ANY meat items delivered and they forgot to drop off the one frozen order of chicken wings. This order was placed over a week ago. So thankful that we are able bodied humans and will risk going to store versus on line order. I do not recommend their home delivery due to the number of items that could not be fulfilled. Don't be disappointed like us! I give Raleys a 5 but home delivery a 1.....hence the 3 average rating. read more

The shoppers call when there's a question and have even recommended a different product because it was less expensive. Customer support is fantastic. You get to talk to a live person. This grocery store is located very close to the Fremont BART so it's convenient if you're going to/from the BART and need something. It's an average grocery store with average prices. Sign up for their rewards program. It doesn't seem like you get extra sales with the card but you get a small reward after spending a certain amount. They have self checkout lanes hooray. No plastic bags and 10 cent paper bags though (like most of CA) read more

I think this place is ok. Seems to be priced higher than other options. It's clean and well organized. I typically have a bit of a wait bc they seem to be short staffed. I have recently moved back here, and I'm not sure how I feel about this whole "Whole Foods" vibe. Because of the renovations, it makes sense that prices are a bit higher and things are harder to find. It is nice that it looks more modern, that the deli has more assortment, and the hot food items are better. The pharmacy is still located in the back near the dairy along the wall. I usually go for some quick fruit and picking up prescriptions. The staff is friendly and nice as always, and it's usually easy finding parking in the lot. Although, it's gotten a lot busier since they opened more businesses in the plaza - which is a plus. Overall, a great place to get your groceries. read more

This store has it half right. Most of the store is Laid out well and is clean. But the inside seating area needs help and some of those areas tucked away under registers and shelving. There is trash and stains on the seats and tables. The area is not maintained well for sanitary. The maintenance teams needs to step it up. I asked the asian woman that makes the sushi if we can get the tables and area cleaned, and she gave me a horrible attitude look like I was inconveniencing her. She didn't say anything like "Hi how are you or how can I help you?". She called someone, hung up the phone and walked away. Bad customer service. No response for 20 minutes. We were on a lunch break and we don't have time to wait. The person arrived to clean, but he cleaned the top of some of the tables and left. What about the seats with trash and stains, and sweeping the floor, picking up the trash? read more

I have mixed feelings about my recent shopping trip at Raleys. I once loved and shopped at this location weekly; however, recent months I have been giving other grocers a chance. Raleys has changed and I don't know why. They are higher priced with less variety than other stores. One would expect this to be a higher end store. Not so much anymore. Some of the old timers are still there and very customer service oriented. I think you need to train your new staff proper customer service...they lack it. Please train them. Here is what I found wrong with my last experience at your store. It is the same feeling I had right before trying other grocers. Don't worry, I have issues with them too. I feel I have to grocery shop outside of Fremont for now. When I got home, I put away my groceries then sat down to review my receipt. Usually, I do it in the parking lot, but I was tired and went home. Over 10 items listed on sale on my receipt were not honored. I bought those items because they were on sale and not on my list. So, it was an extra purchase for Raleys. I'm not returning to dispute this; I don't have the time. Also, your app is very confusing for sales and coupons. I believe you should let headquarters know. They should really redesign the app. I waited for several minutes waiting for your butcher. I continued shopping, came back, no one in sight, but I heard them. Finally, I gave up. No salmon sale for you. I agree with other complaints, the bakery (if one can find a bakery employee) and deli lack customer service. At least pretend you're not irritated with customers or hate your job. My latest trip was no different. Same attitudes. Also, no variety, same items I bought months and years ago. Not worth it to come back. Too bad, you make great sandwiches. Not worth the service. That area has the worse service in that store. Good luck getting a sandwich. If you do its hopefully without an attitude!! Raleys should consider customer service training to their employees at this location. If you know an employee lacks this skill, train them. It's not that hard. I understand Covid has changed some things with employment and supply chain issues. Maybe, corporate greed too? Either way, you have a crew to train. I have to praise to the long-term employees working the front of the store and sticking it out through Covid. They know who they are!!! They have been there for years. I also want to add the produce department. Every single one is helpful with a smile. Excellent employees! Raleys needs to recognize them. Pay them extra to train your new employees and employees with a lot of complaints!! I also want to say your store is still the best in Fremont, even better then Whole Foods and Trader Joes. Pretty much everything related to groceries is available here. We visit it almost twice a week to buy fresh produce and never have any complaints. The quality of the produce is just top notch. I would love if they can increase the number of cashiers since most of the time we buy vegetables and fruits that can't be self checked out. I would also want their staff to be a bit helpful because this one time we were looking for some medicine and one of the saleswomen directed us to a section but we never ended up finding it. Also I felt their dairy price is a bit more than neighboring Smart & Final. I will recommend it for buying fruits and vegetables but rest of the stuff is a bit expensive. read more

I've done the pick up in the back since the pandemic started, the last 3 orders at least 2-3 items wrong. If you tell them not to substitute they do it anyway and if you ask to speak to someone at the store plan on wasting an hour of your time. Apprently they have rules with anyone with a backpack to keep their belongs in a cabinet or in the car. I think they forgot that there is a gym nearby. I felt like the security was social profiling me when all I came in was to buy a couple gallons of water. I am a valued customer at nobhill/raleys for many years & now I don't think I want to go into this store just because of this incident. I've came many times with a backpack & never had issues. This is a nice store and I enjoy shopping here. The checkers are nice, friendly, and the meat department guys are always so helpful! The reason I am giving this store 1 stars is because of the service deli. Getting a fresh made sandwich is like pulling teeth. This isn't the first time either. EVERY time I even attempt to order a sandwich at 7:30am, I am never greeted because all the lady's are busy talking so I just walk away and they don't seem to care. I tried to give this service deli another try on Wednesday of last week, and this is what happened... First, I get a dirty look and a attitude. I nicely asked for a sandwich to be made. The response I get is " oh, we have pre-made sandwich 's over here and by the front of self check out. Um, no I would like it made fresh. I get a sigh, and she walks away to finish whatever she was doing talking to her co-workers etc... wtf? I just wait and wait.. She comes back and asks what do I want. I place my order with a few extra meats. She says, well it's a dollar extra, is that ok with you? Really? Did you just ask me that? Wow!! I get sandwiches from other places and I am NEVER questioned, ever!! Well, (another sigh) I have to go slice the meat you want to wait? With a long stare at me. I say Ok, I smile and say I have time, THANK YOU! In my mind I am thinking really? Why am I even wasting time with this rude person!! Yet again, I almost walk away but grin and bear it!! I've been going to Raley's for more years than I can even guess. I was a regular at the Newark location. I was devastated when it closed. For the Fremont Raley's I like the location. There are a lot of places walking distance to check out. The store is always super clean, the employees are really nice/helpful, especially the meat guys. They have a fairly new hot bar with many different foods. I checked it out one day and did not like it very much at all. Plus it was super expensive. $7.99lb. you'd be surprised how little a lb is. Grocery prices are about or a bit above average. But they have a pretty good rewards program that you can earn points for and get discounts. Overall Raley's is a great store. I just don't go as often since it's no longer in Newark. read more

Raley employees have always been pleasant to me, but I noticed that not all customers are treated the same, especially minorities and people with accents. Because of this, I feel really uncomfortable shopping here. This needs to change. More specifically, the self checkout clerks are extremely rude to Asian people with accents. During my last visit, a Chinese lady could not scan a produce. She meekly asked a Hispanic-looking clerk (I believe the name was Joe) how to scan it. The clerk was in the middle of conversation with a female clerk, laughing and joking, ignoring his duties, and didn't like that a paying customer interrupted him. Instead of helping her, he lectured her on English. WTF? Who does that? Aside from the public humiliation and illegal discriminatory implications, that's just plain indecent and rude. During my previous visit last week, I went through the same self checkout lane. The terminal there did not list the produce I needed. Before I could ask for help, I saw an Indian lady with a thick accent, trying to flag down a female clerk for assistance. I waited for her turn to be helped before I made my query. However, the nearby female clerk was chatting a storm with another employee passing through the area. The Indian lady asked her for help again. The clerk then turned around with eyes nearly rolling out of her face. Her tone didn't seem too pleasing. She even gave that face like she didn't even want to try to understand the customer's question. I did not get the clerk's name, but I hope that Indian lady did. I just got my produce and walked to the service line. Nevertheless, I don't think I will be coming here again. From my perspective, it appears that this is the norm and that the employees need some sensitivity training. I really hope these two customers complain to the corporate offices and have the store and its employees held accountable. read more

For an older store, it's one of the nicest I've ever been in. The bathrooms were clean, and the aisles free from scuff marks. I got an peaceful, easy feeling walking around and they were playing interesting music...kind of like the music they play at the end of a romantic comedy when the heroine is running through the airport to jump on that plane to London or France and tell the man of her dreams she can't live without him. In that spirit, and because they actually had a watering can (which I've been looking for for months, I guess I was in a spring kind of mood. New beginnings, change in the air...so I bought a different scent of deodorant. I'll tell you how it goes. I can't believe I've never been here before since it is on my way from BART home...but today I had to go. I NEEDED a bottle of wine...seriously needed. For some reason wine seems to be the only thing that helps my throat and earache from this God forsaken cold. They have a pretty good wine selection too! Of course, they still charge $2 more than Trader Joe's for my Yellowtail Merlot like everybody else does. Yes...yes I do like $5 wine. I came into this store to pick-up some items from the bread isle on the way home from the BART station. This store is practically next to the station. Stepping inside this store, I was amazed to see how bright and roomy it is. This is the brightest supermarket that I have been into in the Fremont area. Spaces between the displays are the largest I have seen in a market. What really amazed me was the amount of offerings of unique items usually found in a specialty grocery store. They had a great selection of health bars, and specialty items, for a grocery store. I am amazed at the selection of liquor - they have a very good selection. The meat department has some of the nicest selection of meats of all the stores in the area - presentation was good, also! Prices, however, are not as competitive as the other stores in the area. There is a lot of competition in the area from two warehouse-type store, a gourmet grocery store and two traditional markets. I am hopeful they will be competitive with the stores in the area! Even the two big box stores have started to offer limited selections of grocery items at very competitive prices. I really enjoy coming to this store but it has to be more competitive with the others in the immediate area! read more

Raley's is just your typical, run of the mill super market. This location won't blow your mind but it won't disappoint either. They have a really friendly staff and my favorite thing about this place is that they have a full blown Chase bank inside. Can you say "Dolla bills ya'll"? I'll probably come here less once the Whole Foods down the street opens this Fall, but for now, Raley's will be my go-to for all my grocery needs. read more

I'm typically a Trader Joe's girl, but i started frequenting this place during the hours that TJ's isn't open. I absolutely love their health food section. They typcially have a good assortment of vegan and healthy eats. The one thing they do NOT carry is SEITAN! I wish they carried SEITAN!! But none the less I still like their selection of other health items. The one thing that kinda bugs about this place (and it's not their fault) is that there is always panhandlers in lot. Scary, knock on your window panhanders. I've been approached and scared several times. I now only go here in the AM because of that. Not stores fault. It's Fremont PD at fault. This Review is for Raley's Deli ONLY The staff making sandwiches are not quality people from my past 8 years experience since 2006. If you are lucky you get a good sandwich maker but most of time you are out of luck. Way too many sloppy work in the process of making sandwiches, sometimes you see they bringing a pickle bucket from the floor and put on the sandwich table and on my sandwich paper, unload pickles then keep using the same paper wrapping my sandwich. Sometimes I have to repeat to a particular sandwich maker 5 times what I need then she still managed to mess it up. The female sandwiches makers usually chat with each other loud during the process of making sandwiches.... you name it. There is simply not much improvement here...I still come about once a month in hoping I will be lucky... and see some improvements. The worst part is Raley's increased price on sandwiches again. Granted, I am OK if more $ means better quality. Hack NO. The sandwich makers now starting to nickle and dime on how many items can be included in the sandwiches.... I believe a new policy from Raley's. I usually substitute cheese with more piece of lettuces and now I have to be warned it will cost $0.50 extra.... INCREDIBLE. read more

This is my favorite deli in Fremont! The staff here is always really friendly. Usually a tall youngish looking guy helps me, but today a blonde girl (also youngish) helped me. She asked me how my day was going, and rather than being a robot it seemed like she actually cared. After a not so great day, it was refreshing for someone to interact with me in a positive way. The guy (she said his name is Phillip, I wish I had gotten her name so I could include it in my review) always listens to what I'm asking for, and I never feel like I'm an inconvenience to him. I'm really picky about my food, so I really appreciate his compassion. My boyfriend gets a veggie sandwich, and he doesn't give us a hard time when he asks for extra of something, and is also really nice when my boyfriend asks for this onion stuff they usually don't put on their sandwiches. Also- their bread is FANTASTIC. I'm sure everyone is familiar with Subway. When I go in there I feel like I'm being pushed down a conveyer belt, and I even though I barely get anything on my sandwich, they always give me a really hard time about olives and extra cheese. I literally only get turkey, cheese, olives, and mayonnaise on my sandwich. I'm confused when Subway wants to charge me additional for a few extra slices of cheese and an extra handful of olives. Sometimes I ask for the tomatoes on the side. Subway HATES this request. Raley's will throw in a few extra since my sandwich is so bare to begin with. The people at Raley's NEVER give me a hard time about anything. And they don't give me any attitude either; every person I've come in contact with (at this Raley's) has been extremely helpful. And also a big plus- They're open until 9pm. Most deli's inside of grocery stores close by 5. My only request, if anyone from Raley's reads this, is that you add olives to your sandwich options. I know the other Raley's, in Newark, offers them ... but I find your customer service, hours, and convenience much more desirable. read more

I love this store. I live much closer to 2 different Lucky stores and very close to a Safeway. I drive right past the other stores to get to Raley's. All grocery stores have a good and bad prices. I love the selection and quality of Raley's. The produce is MUCH better then most stores. There is a lot of healthy and organic foods. The deli has everything you can imagine and more! It is all very yummy. The people in the deli section are very nice and friendly. I have had friendly service from the meat and bakery sections also. The produce guys can be hit and miss when asking for advice. I like all the cashiers and baggers, they have security in the parking lot. The management is wonderful as well. I really do like this store. And, IT IS CLEAN. Something nearby lucky's and Safeway are certainly NOT. read more

I had to give my neighborhood Raley's 5 stars...the people are always sooo nice! I have never been to a store where they have nicer people working...it is a little twilight zone-ish nice sometimes but I think they are just really that nice and I am just paranoid. They give my little girl balloons which she of course loves. :-) The produce is the best in the area...but the prices can be a bit high. They have great fresh breads...best bakery I think, and the meat is always high quality too. I go to Food4Less for prices and Raley's for quality. Oh they have this Tuxedo cake which is hella good...I wasn't sure if I wanted to share about it but if it is all gone next time I have a craving, my thighs will be thankful! read more

Raley's - Grocery Near Me - Fremont, California

You know when you go somewhere and it reminds you of when you were growing up? Something about the smells, sounds, maybe something old school about it? Well, for me, that's what Raley's means. Growing up in a far eastern Contra Costa town in the 80's, this was the grocery store where my mom usually shopped. This Fremont location comes about as close to the same set up as the one where I grew up. Although, they are missing my beautiful blue-eyed checker, Jim S., whom I had a crush on since I was born (he was an old friend of my older brother, and he was HOT!). OK, back to the goods. Raley's was one of the first grocery stores to have an "all natural" selection of foods...back then people thought it was crap...and some of it was! Today, you find Bear Naked granola (I love that stuff), Hansen's (we stock up on Mandarin Lime), Odwalla's, bulk nuts/grains/trail mix/etc., herbal teas/vitamins/remedies...lots of good stuff. The Fremont location is huge, drugstore and grocery all in one. Why go to Walgreen's for another wait in line? Just get it in your one stop shop. There is no self-check area, which is offered at a number of other Raley's locations. The parking experience is average/ a bit crowded. Raley's prices are more expensive than most local supermarkets, but items tend to be better quality. There is a fair selection of organic options and items for people with special dietary restrictions/preferences. The small selection of self-serve nuts, grains, and snacks usually has three or four items on sale at a time. read more
