Mac & Cheese , tomato bisque , chicken Pesto sandwich
    Amruta D.

This place is clean and well kept. Staff were friendly too. Chicken Pesto Sandwich: I like the sandwich, but I was expecting Italian basil pesto , this doesn't have that. I also felt that sourdough bread was too crusty to chew. Next time I'll get softer bread. Tomato Bisque: creamy and delicious! Little bit on sweeter side. It came with 2 small sizes of warm bread which pairs with soup very well. Mac and Cheese: This is just ok. It was cold on top and warm inside which is strange. This place is bit pricey too.

Went to Firehouse Subs for the first time and ordered a sandwich. I was shocked to discover the wrapper had been left on the cheese in my sandwich. The sandwich was ok, but experiences like this make it hard to feel confident about cleanliness and quality control.

This place is soooo good! I wish I lived closer so I could go more often. The ingredients are fresh, the portion sizes are solid, the service is fast, and the restaurant is always clean. I especially love the hot sauce bottles to spice it up. I can't wait to go back :-)

Firemen make fire subs cuz my Engineer was geared to perfection! This beast of a sub had layers on layers of different meat with the crunch of a chip in the shape of lettuce. The bread was soft and it was spongy and it meshed perfectly with the filling. I loved the pickles on the side and the mission of the organization in all! A great place to support while getting a DELICIOUS bite of food! Parking can be quite nasty as the parking lot is shared with plenty of contenders which include Gen, 85c and In n Out! Pretty contactless if you order on the website or app.

Firehouse subs are really delicious! This location is really neat and tidy which is a plus for me. So far, the subs that we have tried here prior to visiting this location again were the New York Steemer and the Firehouse Steak and Cheese; both really good subs, however the Firehouse Steak and Cheese does tend to get rather soggy from all the juices.. so just a warning. For this visit, we ordered the Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket and the Firehouse Hero. The Firehouse Hero with everything on it made the sub really packed and was a bit messy to eat, but I would rather have it be packed than not :P The Smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket was good too :) if you enjoy barbeque sauce and meat, then this sub is for you. I enjoy going to Firehouse Subs not only for the clean establishment, but their subs are pretty good! The price is a bit more pricey as compared to subway, but you do get what you paid for, and the subs here are definitely worth the price.

Came here for a birthday sub through their rewards system which gave out a free sub with any purchase. It was a great first experience! Having heard of this place but never setting foot in one, the full on fire house/truck/fighter scene was astonishing! There was also a book upfront highlighting the lore and history (get this, it was founded by a community of firefighters!). You'll also be able to learn about the other locations where a Firehouse Sub has been established and the year it started. Ordering the food was a little overwhelming at first due to the many options but once settled, the sandwiches were made to order. We ordered hot subs (I got the pastrami) and they were delicious! It's not huge and it's a bit pricey but they're very flavorful. Parking was easy as it's located in a big lot. There are EV stations should you need a charge. Overall, it's a decent sandwich shop and with the rewards program, it's not bad if it's close enough to frequent. There are definitely better options further away but for the novelty, it's worth at least a visit.

Every firehouse subs has a painting of something local.

Firehouse Subs is the best sandwich chain!!! Their sandwiches are absolutely delicious. They are very welcoming and the place is always spotless. I will be back!

Large Tuna Salad on wheat bread

An update! We recently came here for a tuna salad sandwich. Albeit this would not be the first thing I would choose here, but since I needed to eat fish that day, it was tuna. We got a large sandwich which was hefty. Yes I shared it with another person but even half was more than filling. The tuna salad was pleasant. Not overly seasoned which I appreciated. A little more mayoed than I would like. But overall a solid sandwich. I can see why folks come here time and time again. I really should sign up for their rewards system. Definitely a great option for lunch in the Pacific Commons area. It does get a little hectic in terms of parking during those peak times, but order ahead so you can easily pick up or stay to eat it there.

In fact, it's the only dedicated Taiwanese breakfast place I know of around here! My family and I got there a little before they opened at 8am and were the second group in line. Within 10 minutes of opening, the place was packed. There was a steady stream of takeout and pickup orders too, so it's clearly a popular spot. We ordered pretty much all the classics: sandwiches, soy milk, dan bing (Taiwanese egg pancake), and radish cake. My favorite was the radish cake--it was incredibly soft and had a great texture. My husband's favorite was the sandwiches, and my dad couldn't stop talking about the dan bing. Honestly, everyone loved the sandwiches. The only downside is the price. The sandwiches are around $7 each, which feels pretty expensive for their size. Maybe I'm spoiled because we've had these exact breakfast foods in Taiwan, where a sandwich cost around $1 USD. Seeing $7 plus tax and tip definitely made me laugh (and cry a little) . That said, I also understand we're in the Bay Area and there really aren't many places serving authentic Taiwanese breakfast. Even with the higher prices, we've already ordered from here multiple times and will definitely keep coming back. The food hits the spot whenever I'm craving a taste of Taiwan. P.S. I was so excited to eat that I completely forgot to take photos. That's probably the best compliment I can give!

The food photos alone never quite explained why it has such light foot traffic--and honestly, after finally stopping in, I'm even more puzzled, because the food is good. Maybe it's missing that immediate grab‑you factor, but my experience was solid. I ordered the double pepper chicken leg burger, and the chicken itself is the star: crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and deeply savory. While I personally wished it packed more heat, the execution was spot‑on. The bun, however, felt a bit forgettable, and the sauce leaned heavily into Thousand Island territory...fine, but not particularly distinctive. All that said, it's better than the crowd suggests. With a little more personality, this place could easily pull more attention its way.

One thing I was kind of disappointed was that they charge you for bottled water and have no tap water available for free. I ended up getting a drink from their limited selection of bottled beverages (ranging from sodas to unsweetened jasmine tea). Lesson of the day: bring your own water! Other than that, I thought their crispy chicken leg burger was quite yummy, but there wasn't anything too special about it. The chicken was crunchy and juicy. The bun was on the drier side though. Also, the fries were just okay. I would come back for just the crispy chicken leg burger.

I walked into this deli today hungry and wanting something very simple: a turkey sandwich on whole wheat. Instead of being greeted by a person behind the counter, I was directed to a kiosk. The kiosk was surprisingly limited and frustrating to use. I could not find an option for a basic turkey sandwich without scrolling through a long list of pre-built combinations that did not work for me. There was no easy way to customize and no visible option to simply order something straightforward. What made it worse was the complete absence of human interaction. There was no opportunity to ask a question or clarify an order. It felt transactional in the worst way. I was not alone. The couple next to me also gave up and left without ordering. We all walked out without ever speaking to a single person. If you are going to replace staff with kiosks, at least make the system intuitive and flexible. Sometimes people just want a simple sandwich and a quick, human exchange. I ended up leaving hungry and disappointed..

I picked up a bag of Lay's Masala chips I haven't had since I was in Mumbai, excited to eat it with my sandwich. The sandwich took about 10 minutes to make and panini-press and smelled delicious. However, when I got home I immediately noticed the color and thought they had mistakenly used roast beef. I looked at some of the other reviews and their doordash image and I'm confused on what I got. The pastrami was missing the distinct reddish-pink color from brining and black bark from smoking, I'm not sure how it was prepped in-house but it tasted like roast beef. While it is still considered a Hong Kong Style Cafe, I preferred the original menu when they had first opened up, and now they've changed it. They added the baked rice dishes, and Hong Kong Style BBQ Meats and have gotten rid of the more previously offered Cantonese style dishes. Our most recent visit, we ordered the Hainan Chicken Rice Combo, Roast Duck Rice Plate and Beef Stew Wonton Noodle Soup. The rice places come with a drink, so that is a plus there. It's been lacking some logistics and sometimes, it's difficult to hear the order being called out while lots of customers are inside. I told the front staffs that I wanted my portobello chicken sandwich $15.99 and the watermelon beverage $7.99 for here/dine-in. I even left them over $3.50 tips here. While everyone else picked up their orders very fast, mine was stuck somewhere in between others. They all got table numbers except me. I even asked if I needed a table number since I was planning to dine-in, but nobody answered or wanted to respond. They were too busy preparing sandwiches. Wait time to receive order was a bit over 15 minutes. I ended up standing around waiting and waiting, thinking about why I even tipped the place when my anxiety levels were escalating. Without a table number, how would they even know which table outside to deliver my orders to? Portobello chicken sandwich was very good though. Ingredients are full. Ciabatta bread was huge. This thick sandwich can definitely feed two people. Watermelon beverage tasted good too. Tables weren't all wiped down outside, but I can see the few employees hustling and bustling. It's still a strange feeling to not have a table number assigned to me while others did have one. Overall, sandwiches are still good and portions are generous. People love coming here.
