Loved Raley's!! Great place and my saving grace while in town. I usually frequent the hot food and salad bars at Whole Foods and Bristol Farms in So Cal. I wanted to try something that we don't have in the LA area. So happy to come across Raley's . Parking: Super easy and plenty of it. Even when I though it would be peak times. Layout/Merchandising: awesome, clean and inviting. Totally stayed longer than anticipated because I just had to check it out. I actually went 2 days in a row to buy essentials and snacks. I did get a couple meals from the hot food bar (all super tasty) and at the carving station. The salmon with 2 sides was $9. Can't beat that. Lots of healthy options via the deli case and general groceries. I would totally be a Raley's shopper if I lived near one. read more

This store is very nice inside. It's always nice and clean, and the decor conveys a focus on the products' freshness. I gave two stars rather than one because the people who work there are always friendly and helpful- if you can find someone, based on my recent trips. However I absolutely do not recommend people patronize it unless you have no other choice due to transportation. There's been a gradual deterioration in the service quality. In the past I preferred buying groceries from Raley's and Bel Air. It's a regional business, most stores have a good selection and the customer service is generally better than other grocery stores in the area. On Tuesday 2/13/24, I had the worst Raley's/Bel Air experience at the Fair Oaks/ Howe store in the over 20 years I've shopped in the company's locations. The store had one person working self checkout, and ONE!!! Human cashier and bagger team working at 6:30pm. This was the busiest time of day for the grocery stores I worked in during high school and college, so the lack of cashiers at that time was inexcusable. The line in self checkout went into the fresh bakery/prepared food section. The human line extends well into the produce section. This happened even though the store wasn't very crowded! There was absolutely no effort to call someone to help in the front end. I was probably in line over 20 minutes, possibly more. Even if someone called out sick and/ or a customer had trouble with their credit cards, it's inexcusable given many prices are higher than other stores. I thought I was paying for superior service. This day was by far the worst, but it's not an outlier for this store in terms of poor front end staffing. I feel this problem has been gradually increasing over the last 6-12 months. It's shameful for one of the chain's premier stores (as it was described when it opened) to be so short staffed it would permit such awful service. I recently started to do most of my grocery shopping the Savemarts on Folsom Blvd or Loehmanns Plaza, and the small business Grocery Outlet on 65th and Folsom. This is the case even though the Howe/Fair Oaks Raley's is much closer. I recommend these neighborhood shops because I've never had the same experience with unacceptablely long checkout times. I stopped going to the Safeway down the street from Raley's years ago because they are also habitually short staffed with ridiculously long checkout lines. However they've been a bit better lately. Raley's- please don't tarnish the chain's fine reputation by adopting the poor customer service practices of nationwide chains like Kroger. People don't need more reasons to choose Walmart over a regional business where they can support grocery unions workers. read more

Some staffs at the checkout (including the one overseeing the self-checkout) are particularly not friendly. No smiles. No "how are you?". But, I like that the store is clean and organized. Though the restroom often need attention . My kids enjoy looking for Howie before the pandemic. read more

Decided to try raleys delivered groceries. Showed up early, I work at home so was a little inconvenient since I had to leave a call to answer the door. None of the frozen or refrigerated items were in cold packs, the ice cream was extremely soft. Seafood salad from deli tasted like the mayo had turned, it was about room temp on arrival. Was to be my dinner, now it's trash and I'm scared to taste the macaroni salad with bad mayo in seafood... I don't know if raleys dropped the ball or the delivery driver, but how do you bring frozen food and dairy to someone in 95f weather without cold packs? Every other grocery delivery I've gotten from other markets did that, so I won't be ordering those items from raleys - at least during summer. I went in today at Raley's and wanted to get avocados and the sign says 3 for $5 but at the self check out when I had three, it charged me $7.50... umm what? Called someone to help me out but they said it's supposed to be 2 for $5. I cashed out and left and went to take this picture and showed the tall guy at the self check out and let him know that this was displayed there and I also said that this should be taken out because it is misleading customers. The guy says "ok" three times and didn't do anything about it. That's why I'm pissed because he didnt do shit about the problem. I don't want to waste my time by convincing them about this. I love this Raley's. It's always clean, organized, beautiful, and smells good when you walk in. The staff are very polite and helpful. I can usually find what I need, and their $5 Monday deals are great. It's a little smaller than other locations, but I'd rather go to this Raley's, if just for the pleasant aesthetics. read more

The Sacramento grocery experience is evolving into a very unique world. Gone are the traditional neighborhood supermarkets with boring aisles of basic food. Raley's has clearly moved into the upscale market with their new supermarket on the corner of Fair Oaks and Howe Avenue where the old Cadillac dealership used to exist. Accessing this location is somewhat difficult. It is easiest to access from southbound Howe since the driveway from Fair Oaks is clogged with cars turning right. You also need to drive back through the apartment complex to turn left onto northbound Howe. Nevertheless, its location near Sac State makes it popular within walking distance of the nearby apartments. This Raley's adopts a similar concept to Nugget and Whole Foods with a large prepared foods area combined with upscale liquor and produce options. The layout is a bit funky with odd angles and a warehouse-chic decor. This is a smaller store, but they have a large selection of items at regular Raley's prices. There is a checkout stand near the deli area for quick purchases. I like this concept for Raley's to compete with the upscale options in Sacramento. Costco and Winco are still best for big shopping trips, but this Raley's really declares war against the high end markets in Sacramento. read more

It is a nice clean store and has a good bakery department BUT I am only giving it a 3 because there is no excuse for the high prices, Example even a year ago Greek yoougurt was $1.69 when a better product, same size at Winco was $,58...Raleys more than 100% too high. I left a review a few weeks ago, but I decided to remove it and repost after my most recent experience. I need help, and I am choosing this forum to ensure I get it. I complained about a specific employee about 8 or 9 months ago. He is African-American, he has a beard, wears a black hat, and has been working in the bakery for well over a year. I made my primary complaint about him 9 months ago to Raley's customer service over the phone. He had been vacating the bakery whenever I entered Raley's and position himself under the balcony of the mezzanine to watch me work while he was organizing the baked goods. He would make eye contact with me, and glare at me. I did not know him, had never met him, and I had never spoken to him either. As the months went by he would continue to do this to me, and then began taking his break and sitting directly behind me when there was no one else upstairs. Needless to say this made me feel afraid, and upset. One day I asked him his name, and if I possibly knew him, he was very rude and continued the intimidating behavior. I called customer service and complained. I believe they spoke to him because his behavior stopped after the phone call. The personnel at customer service seemed genuinely concerned and I appreciated this. Since the CORONA virus has ended, I have lost both of my grandparents to the virus, life is stressful enough, and I come to Raley's because it is safe, and relatively quiet. His behavior must stop immediately, and I will go to all lengths to ensure that it does. The employee doesn't seem especially stable. He is not able to compare his previous behavior to his current behavior and determine that the behavior that I complained about last year, he should refrain from practicing now. In my previous review I complained about all Raley's employees generally, thinking that I am there equal. Much of the behavior I described is on camera without a doubt. The behavior from the employee in the bakery, and the behavior of the cleaning staff and employees on their break who interact with me while I am working. I truly believe that if I were a white haired older person they would take no interest in me, and treat me like a respectable patron. His behavior is actually discriminatory, because he does not treat other patrons the same way he treats me. Either on the basis of gender, or race, but either way, his behavior is discriminatory, and can be proven. I have officially called customer service, left a Yelp Review, and I also contacted Raleys management by email about 30 minutes ago. All I do is come here to enjoy the mezzanine and get work done, and occasionally eat lunch like everyone else. read more

I went in to check out the store and grab something for lunch. It has a really friendly and trendy vibe. The store is also very appealing, visually. There is plenty to look at! I interacted with about 4 employees and they were all friendly. I asked an employee if I needed the "Create Your Own" sandwich order form if I wanted a tri-tip sandwich (from the carving station)...she didn't know, apologized for not knowing and asked someone else. They were both very helpful. My sandwich was made exactly as ordered and it was good. I want to go back and try the gelato bar!!! Also, I'm a big sweets person- and they have treats in the bakery section that look so yummy! There was a package of 2 cinnamon rolls that I had to make myself say "no" to. :) Anyway, I paid for my sandwich, bai Bubbles drink and milk (the only grocery item I got) at the self-checkout. So I have actually never shopped at Raley's before this store opened today in my neighborhood. Stopped by to check it out and thought it's a really nice, somewhat more high-end type of grocery store. Which of course you would know if you have ever been there! :) I liked the fact that there's a carving station in the deli section, and the various grab-and-go hot foods and the organic roasted vegetables looked tasty. At the cheese counter you'll find a very generous variety of 'fermented curd' (to quote Monty Python's "Cheese Shop Sketch"). There's a Peet's Coffee counter that serves gelato--I don't drink coffee, but will eat the heck out of some gelato! Cool. One slightly weird detail: the nice lady at the sushi counter was wearing white facial makeup, reminiscent of how geishas whiten their faces. In my opinion, if this makeup is encouraged by corporate, it's totally unnecessary and perhaps a tad offensive. But hey, that's just me. An interesting architectural detail is the indoor balcony seating area, where folks can sit and munch on ready-made food while looking down at the store and the shoppers. Kind of clever how the store maximizes retail space by elevating the seating area. I only picked up a few items since I was there more out of curiosity to visit a new grocery store, rather than an urgent need for groceries. But I will stop by again; it's not my new favorite grocery store, but it has a different enough 'feel' from other supermarkets in the area to make it a fun alternative. A few of my favorite things are the grilled cheese sandwich they make during lunch hours. They are seriously delicious. They also have taco Tuesdays, they put out at the self serve bar. As other Yelpers have noticed, this new store is a looker! From outside seating and pleasant landscaping, ample parking, endless ready made food options, house made sausages in the meat section, lots of choices in every category of grocery, this new store is something to see! The hot food buffet has a nice variety of foods. Just love trying a little of everything! The pre-made foods had plenty of choices for when we need help with dinner. The carvery is like a local casual eatery where you can get carved meat on a sandwich, over a salad, or on a plate. Great idea! If grab and go is what is necessary, there's also a ton of choices to be had that look really good. All the staff are super friendly and cheerful. We're intrigued by the house made sausages and will be back to try some out. Meanwhile, the buffet worked very well and we'll be back to check more out. read more

But the main reason I gave it a low review was unhelpful staff and lack of attention to my disabled husband. He was struggling because there were only two carts and we couldn't get either working. This is the first (and only) Raley's that I've ever visited, and I didn't realize that Raley's is not normally a Whole Foods-inspired establishment. (This was much of a laugh for my Californian friends!) Anyway, I shopped there during their first weekend because it was next door to my hotel, and I was very impressed. There was a great selection of products and hot food service. The prices are a bit high (although in fairness, but I did not shop in another store while here other than Trader Joe's to accurately compare), but it was well-stocked and clean. I did remove one star (really half a star - can you work on that Yelp?) because the checkout process was terribly disorganized when I shopped. I actually visited twice on the same night (I forgot something), and both times there was a lot of problems taking my credit card. That said, the manager personally came over to apologize for the inconvenience and offered me his business card in the event my card had been accidentally overcharged. I observed others having similar card reading issues, so it was a store glitch, perhaps related to its new opening. read more

Today, me and two other shoppers who had less than six items like myself, had to stand and wait as a person with a complicated cart was purchasing a month's worth of groceries. EXPIRED DAIRY!!! 8 DAYS OUT OF DATE!!! ON TWO SEPARATE TRIPS!!! Disgusting. I bought some yogurt on sale. Didn't bother to look at the dates. Because why would you? Yogurt is a popular food and hey.... sale. Got it home and took one to work for lunch the next day. Spoiled. It was Greek yogurt and curdled and watery. Looked at the date. 6 days out of date. Checked the rest when I got home. Only 1 was in date. Another was 6 days past and one was EIGHT. Ok. Groceries are run by humans and humans are imperfect. Kind of forgot about the incident. A couple months later..... more expired yogurt. Plus some expired whipping cream. This store is NASTY. One mistake is one mistake. Two several months apart is a pattern. I won't shop here again. This store has the worst customer service. My ecart order is always wrong! When I get there to pick up my order they don't response to my call or txt. They have a bunch of young high school or college school age people working who don't really have any experience. It's unfortunate because his is the only store near my area. The "clerk" who monitors the self check out stands is racist. I tried to get her name but she was too busy ignoring me and keeping her back towards me. She has brown hair with brash auburn/reddish highlights, wears a tablespoon of eyeshadow on each eyelid and heavy on the eye liner and caked on foundation. I wouldn't even be writing this review but this is the second visit where "eyeshadow" has ignored me. The first time was over a month ago. I had a question so I tried making eye contact with her while she was helping another customer, she looked at me and knew I needed help. I patiently waited until she was done and she ignored me. By that time I had answered my own question, checked out while she went back to her little station and ignored me, I gave her a look as I walked out and she had this snarky look on her face. The second time was 8/23/18 at approximately 4:30pm. I needed help with scanning a pack of cupcakes, she was helping another customer, I waited, she looked me dead in the eye and proceed to help the second customer who didn't even signal for help before I did. I was so disgusted with her rude behavior I finished checking out, paid for my items and since I didn't get and help scanning the cupcakes, I left them at the counter. I'm hard to miss, I'm disabled and was in the store motorized cart each time. I will take my business to Safeway, at least I get help from their employees. I came here on a Monday night for food shopping it wasn't very crowded. This was my first time here and i was amazed. The store is very clean and everything is very organized. Although the prices could be a little better .they had some pretty good deals (2 for $5) and so forth .I immediately signed up for the coupon club and got a coupon to use immediately. As I was leaving I saw they have personal shopping where you can put up order online and then come to raleys park in there designate area and your groceries are bought out to you or you can have them delivered. My rating is in regards to the subject not the store in general. their soup sold @ the dele is just OK but the seal is almost impossible to get off. Three times I have used the pliers to pull back the plastic seal. Not sure the quality is worth the effort. read more

This was at the Raley's on Fair Oaks Blvd and Howe ave. I am very concerned about this store and the fact they are not following the governor's health practices during COVID-19. My mom is older (70) and that is an higher risk population. She ordered and paid online for curbside pickup to keep herself safe. When she got there the worker came out not wearing a mask or gloves and they made her get out and sign a clipboard even though she already paid. This is a clear policy violation and should not be tolerated. I will be reporting this store to the county and state. read more

Ordering on line? if something goes wrong don't expect any kind of response or CREDIT! if you need to order on line try another store that offers delivery service. I had several items missing and they said they would refund but no confirmation was taken nothing was sent.. I wrote a complaint to the online inquiries.. it fell to deaf ears.. Love the fresh juice bar! They make it fresh to order so you know everything is really fresh! They have 16oz fresh juice for $3.99 or 24oz fresh juice for $4.99. This is such a great deal! I will definitely be back for more on a regular basis. read more

This location is always so fast at getting the customer checked out and on their way. I never have any trouble finding my way around the store because the clerk's are so knowledgeable and happy to help with any questions. There is a hot bar/salad bar available and a fresh squeezed orange juice machine. They don't carry as much variety as other Raleys but, due to the space it makes sense. All in all, this location is quick, easy and convenient. read more

This Raley's is awesome! They have so much cool stuff here! They have an aisle of fancy lotions and washes. They have a ton of prepared foods you can buy or order including the usual salads, sandwiches, and soups. Everything is well stocked and clean. But I think by far the best thing about this place is the large upstairs area with all the tables. It's perfect for studying and eating whatever you bought below. There are a ton of outlets, a microwave, and chilled infused water. Oh, and did I mention they have Peet's? How can a grocery store be this awesome?! read more

These two stars are the wide variety of products they have here. It's a very nice market to shop in, there's alot of things that catches your eye. The bread is very good and I think that's what I'm going to only come back for. However, this review is regarding the meat I bought from here. It's weird how I bought ground beef and a piece of steak from here and by the end of the day when it's in my fridge, it's already turning brown. I live only 2 minutes away so there's no possibility I left the meat out too long in my car. This is the only market where I have problem dealing with meat-wise. If I buy meat at Safeway, it doesn't start turning brown till at least 5 days later. So now I know which market has the freshest meat. Also they really need to work on their customer service. No one greeted me when I walked in, no one asked if I needed help and definitely no one said anything when I left. Again, i think I'm only gonna come here for the bread. Walk in and walk out since it seems like the people here don't really give a crap. read more

I love this location of Raley's. They have a pretty good beer selection with several local breweries, prices are reasonable, and its an convenient location when I'm on my way back from Arden to midtown. Easy parking, clean store, and a nice selection of vegetarian Gardein products which I cannot get at the Co-Op. I like the deli b/c I can get sliced cheese, the display cases are set up beautifully throughout, they have a pretty decent selection of flowers and the staff has always been friendly and helpful too. Additionally it has never been super busy when I have been there making shopping a breeze. read more
