This was the first time I've shopped at this grocery store and my impression was that the store was clean, well organized and the aisles are wide and uncluttered. Unfortunately, there were multiple shelves that were empty and not restocked. Same went for the protein in the refrigerated section. I went to the self checkout counter and although there were multiple registers that were free and several staff members in close proximity, only one register has a "green light on" which I assumed (and wrongly so) was the only one open for use. None of the staff members notified me otherwise so....I stood there like a statue until someone came up and began using one of the other registers. I totally felt a little dumb but frustrated that the nearby staff didn't direct me. Otherwise, prices are ok, parking is ample, store is clean, stock is limited and staff may or may not be as helpful as they could be. read more

I like this Raleys! It's brand new so it's still nice and clean. The staff is always super nice and this Raleys has extra things like gelato and a beauty bar. It's pricey as heck, but beautiful! The pet section is small which is a con. But it's also right next to KB nails and starbucks, as well as orange theory and CVS! It's never too busy or crowded either. read more

Inevitably, there is always going to be a latest and greatest, but the new prized pony in the Raley's stable is truly special. While Raley's has always been my preference for the routine grocery stops, I previously had an ongoing fling with Nugget, who tempted with all of its gourmet products and ready made options. Based on all of the offerings of the new Raley's, I'll no longer have any reason to venture outside of the neighborhood. This store was very well thought out in terms of customer experience and offerings with no attention to detail spared. One feature I was particularly impressed with was the salad and hot food bar. The concept itself, self-serve and pay by the pound, is nothing new, but the quality and selection of the offering place it into a new category that I haven't seen before. I was especially thrilled with the wide assortment of roasted vegetables available. In addition to the self-serve bar, there is an extensive assortment of ready made meals, entrees and side dishes available on a per pound basis in the deli sections. Then there is the actual deli section itself with with many options of fresh sliced meats and cheeses in your desired quantities. On top of this, there is the custom sandwich counter - your choice of bread, meat, cheese, toppings and condiments. Sandwiches are $6.99 for a 6" or $9.99 for the 12". This is not to be confused with the melting station where you have multiple options for customizing a grilled cheese (melt sandwich) to your liking. Yet another option is the rotisserie counter/ carving station. At the carving station, you can select from chicken, turkey breast, grilled ham or tri-tip available in the form of a sandwich, salad or plate. You can also pick up a ready to carry family size serving of the chicken, turkey or tri-tip. I personally tried the tri-tip and it was fantastic. If you've made it this far and haven't caved to a craving, it only gets better because there is a sushi counter. I'm not a sushi guy personally, but have a friend that drove over here specifically to pick up sushi for lunch after trying a sample the day before. As if all of this were not enough, there is also a gelato bar. One side step over from all of the aforementioned action and you will find an immense and very impressive display with a wide assortment of specialty cheeses. Rounding out this area, you will find a large assortment of fresh baked goods, a fresh meat and seafood counters. Throughout the store it is very apparent that healthier options are the focus. In terms of healthier snack choices, this store has the largest selection of offerings that I've ever encountered. Take what I would call the snack aisle, it is filled with healthier options such as kale snacks, edamame, chickpeas and the like. I was also surprised to find brands such as Annie's and the like at eye level while a tradition powerhouse item such as Kellogg's Pop-Tarts are located on the very bottom shelf. In addition, you can find just about every bar category (protein, fruit, granola, health, dietary supplement, etc.) imaginable. In another corner of the store, there is a large selection of bulk pantry bins consisting of many other organic and healthier choice options. Raley's has always been known for their fresh produce and this store appears to have taken that concept one step further. The fruits and vegetables are marvelously displayed in a way that you cannot help but to want to stock up on them. All in all, this store really inspires healthier choices. If you've ever heard Adam Corrolla's skit "what can't Adam complain about," I think this just might be it. This is a beautiful store full of great options. In general grocery shopping is a mundane task, but this store brings an elevated experience that I am going to enjoy for the foreseeable future. On another side note, I love the sign on the wall that says "home sweet Sacramento" paying homage Raley's hometown roots. read more

I'm the weird kid that has always loved grocery shopping. Need something from the market? I'm your gal. This is my new favorite store since it's miles better than Safeway and probably half a mile better than SaveMart. They have such a huge selection of everything I could possibly want. And that's hard for me because I can't eat wheat or dairy (plus a handful of other bull that I won't go into). They have tons of dairy free options, like yogurt, creamer, MAC AND CHEESE, as well as a million gluten free options (CORNDOGS). Plus, the price is always right. They also have a really great selection of produce, even if the produce section is on the small side. You want chocolate? They have at least 100 kinds to try. Wellness? They got your vitamins, probiotics, soap, and natural deodorant. The meat department has handmade sausages. And they are TASTY. Try the breakfast blueberry sausages if they're in! SUSHI BURRITO!? You can get that here too. My favorite part of the store though has nothing to do with the food. It's the music. I don't know who picks it or what station it is but it is so good that I'm not the only one dancing in the aisles. read more

This Raleys really does a great job bringing positive energy every time I walk in there. They have longer lines but they do their best at getting people through as quick as possible. It is a busy location and they can be understaffed but they are trying their best. Absolutely love this location! I was thrilled when this spot opened up and I've been shopping here weekly. Employees are friendly, well-trained and very personable when speaking to customers. Recently, they totally redesigned the interior and moved some aisles around. Confusing as it was, employees have made an effort to make sure they can help you if need be and there seems to be an abundance of them sprinkled throughout the store! I am very loyal to Raley's and Bel-Air. I purchase the majority of my groceries from either store and have done so for over 20 years. However, I have always ordered my cakes from Bel-Air on Calvine or Laguna having lived and worked in Elk Grove the longest. Both of these stores have awesome decorators. I could call my cake order in, tell them how I would like it decorated and/or leave it up to them and each time I've been satisfied with their work. Recently, for convenience I ordered a cake from this Raley's over the phone. The only specifics I gave about the decorations were red roses with green leaves and the writing. This was my mistake but I trusted the decorators to use their best judgment on placement and produce a beautiful cake. Being that this is a custom "works" cake I feel it is very basic. I think the roses are nice but could have been on the corners or each side. The writing could have been placed in the center or at least straight and in a different color than black. The heart could have been filled in. And the red border could have been on top and not under the white. It's like it was an after thought. The cake itself was good and tasted the same as all my others, marble cake with white buttercream icing and filling. I will continue to order cakes but I will drive out of my way and go to Bel-Air on Calvine or Elk Grove. read more

For the past few months I have noticed that Raley's is loading their shelves with only Raley's canned food. I haven't been able to find canned foods that I normally buy. I don't want Raley's canned foods. They should save it for Foods 4 Less. I've decided that I am going to stick with Nugget or Whole Foods. Raley's really isn't that cheap and their selection is getting worse. And sorry Raley's, I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the new concept. The selection seemed more limited and prices seemed higher in some respects. Not exactly conducive to the college-age crowd nearby. It is a nice store though (I am excited by the hot and cold prepared food bars) and my fiancé was pleased that there was an entire refrigerated aisle dedicated to craft beer. Who am I kidding? Good store, friendly staff. The one thing is....the deli. Let me just, begin, by saying I detest mayonaise. Whenever I make a sandwich, I do not include mayonaise. So imagine my repugnant surprise when I looked upon my Raley's deli sandwich in which I recently ordered, and found, you guessed it, mayonaise. Like I said, i hate mayonaise. Not hate, detest. ONLINE SHOPPING SCAM - Extra Dollars & Fee Waiver! Before placing order, called customer service and was told to put "Extra Dollars" barcode# in Order Notes to receive discount. Rep also suggested calling store to remind them. Called Store 1 hr before delivery & was told order was processed but discount was forgotten. Refused to add discount even though order was still in store. Called customer service back and was told discount would NOT BE applied if PHOTO of card wasn't sent to store because they have to SCAN in bar code. The store & 1st rep did not mention this and the fine print on the card only says: "For online orders, inform your personal shopper (via text, call or note) that you have Extra Dollars..." Ordered $100+ but was also charged delivery fee because store didn't have all items. Raley's is the only grocery I know that charges extra when they run out of stock. Terrible experience, but the rude & condescending phone reps have motivated me to post this thru out social media. Hard to believe they act this way with all the other choices we have. read more

This store is fantastic, but with one exception. All of the good things that people say are true; however, the so-called 'music' is unbearable. I feel bad for the people who have to work there for a full shift; it is too loud, unrelenting, and the acoustics there obviously leave much to be desired. Perhaps its purpose is to keep people from loitering, but that it pretty harsh on the employees who risk PTSD. Update: it took me a year to get around to revisiting the store, and I am delighted to report that the music volume has been dramatically reduced, and one can now hear oneself think. read more

Went in today around 9:30. Grabbed a few items went to check out, checker was preoccupied on her headset but not rude. She gets to my beer and tells me to remove my mask. I assume I heard wrong and as I was going to place my ID on the outside of the plexi glass she grabbed it, and told me again to remove my mask. I brought it down to my chin and she told me no, remove it. I asked to speak to a manager and she called him. I asked for my ID back, and asked for a wipe. She grabbed the squirt bottle of sanitizer and doused my ID with it. Since Covid I have bought probably more beer here than I should, I have never been treated like this. She argued with me when I asked what the store policy was, she belittled me in front of another customer who called after me to tell me I handled myself correctly and no, you are not to remove your mask. After all this, I realize she didn't give me my cash back. That made me look at my receipt and I noticed she over charged me as well. I understand policies change daily, but under no circumstance did I deserve what I got. read more

LOVE this store! This isn't my regular Raley's (wish it was) but I pop in when I'm in this area and I'm always impressed. It's my go to when I'm short on time but need something yummy to eat. The salads and sandwiches are delish and they have a cute little upstairs lounge area where you can sit and enjoy your lunch. You can tell the management take great care in the stores appearance and the employees I've interacted with have always been so kind, personable and helpful. Raley's should really look into having more stores with this structure. I love the overall vibe and clean layout so much!! read more

The store itself is beautiful and has lots of options from specialty grocery items to a good selection of skin care products! My only problem is that the pre-made hot foods section has a poor selection of vegetarian items. For such a "fresh" looking store, you would think there would be a few more vegetarian ready items. I live super close to this store and it's a drag to have to go all the way to Whole Foods when I don't feel like cooking because there isn't any items I can eat. read more

This is a review on the customer service in this place. Shoutout to all the employees I saw on 8/7 dealing with an extremely rude customer. I came in to do some late morning shopping and happen to come in at the same time as this lady who was clearly annoyed with life or something. As I was looking through the meat section next to the butcher's she was complaining to the poor young man at the counter about the salmon being cut wrong, how she wanted a different style cut, and how she couldn't have the end pieces. The young man offered a solution of cutting off strips from a larger piece to get her desired product and after continuously telling him to cut the strips differently she finally snapped and said never mind and walked away without getting anything. The young man at the counter handled everything in an extremely professional manner and I was impressed. Then later as I'm in the produce section the same lady loudly answers her phone and started to have a conversation with someone...I want to stress the loud part as it was very noisy and I noticed other customers leave the area. As an added note, I was asked by every employee I saw if I needed any help and everyone seemed genuinely warm and kind. THEN as I go to the self checkout kiosks with my 8 items I see this same lady come up with a huge cart full of stuff and then demand one of the employees to scan everything for her. Note that there were no lines in the regular checkouts and while Raley's doesn't have an item limit for their self checkout I feel like the general rule is 15 or less so WHY she didn't go to a regular checkout lane I'll never know but to go to a SELF-SERVE kiosk and then demand and employee do everything for you blew my mind. Amazingly a young bagger came up and started scanning everything for her, again being extremely professional and nice, while the lady impatiently tapped her foot waiting and didn't even thank the young girl helping her. I just want the employees of this Raley's to know that I saw how amazing they were and that it's appreciated. Customer service is tough and people tend to take out their frustrations on employees but please KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. You've impressed this customer greatly. read more

Beautiful store. Family and I are here 2-3 times a week. It started well, then it is just going down the hill. The music they used to play it was up to today's hits and according to the store's freshly vibe. Now they play the worst, depressing, and most annoying music. (I think we play better music at my 88 years old grandpa funeral last week). We feel very sorry for the employees. No wonder they look always tired and like blah.. great place to shop, have lunch but music. read more

Decent stores, but if you sign up for their card and online emails you'll find your inbox filled with useless emails; their web site is so unusable that it might better be considered a comic example of how to make a worthless web site. For example, you'll get emails offering you "coupons" which have not connection to anything. Generally companies like this hire wannabe web designers who have no idea what they're doing, and then various vice presidents who are equally clueless do not get rid of them and instead "redesign" the system in even more clumsy ways. Worst customer service ever. First time card was declined then I used a different card and that went through but then I was charged on both cards. This has happened on 2 occasions where I was charged twice on my cards. Then I showed them bank statements on both cards and they told me they would give me a call back regarding a refund, even though I had the evidence showing the same amount on the same date charged twice. At this point I will not shop here ever again! read more

I love this new location. There isn't a grocery story near me and the closest used to be the Safeway at Arden and Watt, but it was super expensive. This location is about the same distance (2.7 miles vs. 2.8 miles) and has way better options at lower prices. This new store is set up to focus on healthier products and I like the concept. The veggies are way cheaper than Safeway (cucumbers at $0.79 each instead of $2.99; red mangos at $0.50 instead of $1.00+) so I definitely can stretch my grocery funds during the month and get fresher produce all month long. I like how they focus more on fresh and natural and less on junk food. They also have tons of deli and salad options prepackaged so you don't have to wait in line, just grab and go. This is not the store to go to if you need to stock up on those processed frozen meals for your office lunches, but a great place to get a lot of healthy options for meal planning. I could not be more impressed with this store. I'm new to this part of town and visited this store. Not only was everyone friendly and help full, but the bakery was outstanding. I needed to order a cake for my husband birthday. The cakes they had on display were gorgeous. The bakery staff was so helpful I had total faith in placing my order here and they did not disappoint. This Raley's reminds me of Whole Foods without the Whole Food outrageous prices. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is my go to store. I also like their produce, always fresh. They also sell Phood Protein powder mix. I normally buy through Amazon so nice to be able to purchase locally. read more
