Got into an accident on a Friday that unfortunately resulted in having to total my car. When the police called a tow truck, my car was towed here. Got charged $131 for storage fees just for having my car there over the weekend (when they're closed) until the salvage yard that paid me $175 for the car picked it up for free the following Monday morning, despite the sign that reads $25/day for storage when you walk in. When I went to pick up the leftover money from the salvage yard, that $131 inexplicably got rounded up to $140. Please avoid this shop if you want honest service done on your car. read more

This place is pretty close to my home, so when my check-engine light came on, This was my second pick (my first was unable to see me for 2 whole days!). The guys there were up front with me and although it came out to ~$120 for an oil change and to reattach a hose, they were able to complete the work quickly and with a minimum of fuss. I had my car back by the end of the work day. Pretty great. It does have a really small parking lot though, and right off of Rt 1 which is a fairly heavily trafficked thoroughfare. So be careful pulling in and out of the lot. read more

If Rallye tows your car, be prepared to file a complaint with DMV and the Norwalk Police.. I stopped using Rallye Tire for repairs years ago after being less-than satisfied with the work quality, However, it has a tow contract with Norwalk and was called to tow my car on November 3, 2018, after I had been broadsided by a police car and was taken from the scene by ambulance. I received no notice from Rally Tire that they had taken my car. Due to my injuries, I was not able to track down my car until November 7th. When I arrived at Rallye Tire asking to remove my son's carseat (so that I could put it in the rental car I was obtaining) and my work tools, owner Ben Potel refused. He said he doesn't release personal property because it is security to make sure he is paid for his tows. After assuring him that my auto insurer would pay him and providing him my All State claim number so that he could speak with a representative, I was told to have my insurer "fax" him proof that All State would pay him. I emailed All State and asked that they contact Rallye Tire. State regulations do not give a tow company a lien on personal property in vehicles and require that they release items which are required for health and well-being (like a car seat). On November 10th (a Saturday), I called at 11:45 a.m. (because the shop was closed) and asked to make arrangements to pick up my important belongings. The law requires a prompt call back for pick up arrangements to be made but Rallye never called. On November 12th, I again went to Rally Tire, was berated by the owner who faulted me for his lack of contact with All State and who refused to allow me access to any belongings in the car. Rallye claims it is following the law- it's not. The company uses unlawful and unethical coercive tactics which violate state law. Like at least one other poster, I am also filing a complaint with DMV. I'd also suggest that if you are subject to these same tactics, you should write a letter to the Norwalk Police Dept. and Police Commission advising them to terminate their contract with Rallye Tire. read more

I use Rallye Tire for all my vehicle services both personal and buisness. Never once had a problem. Always willing to help at a moments notice. The guys there are very knowledgable and courtious. Ben has been fair to us with all services and never tried to oversell us on anything. They take the time to explain the problems and give you options to address. read more

I pulled into the Avalon apartment complex garage located at 26 Belden Ave in Norwalk, CT at approximately 9:00 A.M on Thursday March 1, 2012. I went into the McDonalds restaurant shortly after parking inside the garage, located in the complex. After ordering and sitting down to eat my breakfast I briefly walked across the street to a curbside postal box. On my return at approximately 10:00 A.M. that same morning; I came to the realization that my car was not in the parking spot I left it. I approached a tow truck operator that was in the process of hitching a car other than mine and asked if he had towed my vehicle. He confirmed my assumption, that he indeed did tow my vehicle and it was dropped off down the street at his facility at Rallye Tire & Auto Service, 22 Cross Street Norwalk, CT. Once I arrived I was informed that the cost of the tow was $180.00, I was shocked at what seemed to be an absurdly expensive amount, especially given that the distance between the two locations is literally one tenth of a mile apart. I asked the employee if there was any better he could do for me. After several minutes of back and forth negotiation, he told me $120.00 was the best and final amount he would accept. I was then told that they do not accept any other payment other than cash (no credit cards, checks etc.). I insisted upon a receipt for my payment when the employee stated he spoke to his boss and said he would give me the "family/friend" discount at $97.00. I then decided to pay and receive a receipt for the total amount of $97.84. It was only after I requested a receipt that the cost of services descended almost $100.00 from the original price given. The bill states $88.00 for "Hook-up Fee", $4.00 for Fuel/Surcharge, and $5.84 for Tax. I feel as if I was being taken advantage of and if not for my relentless persistence in getting my rate to a more reasonable (not to mention legal) charge, I would have ended up paying $180.00. I want to make everyone aware that this business is trying to charge way more than what the State Of Connecticut allows, covering their nonconsensual tow charges. Being new to the area and leary of mechanics this place was recommended to me. I took my car there for a 90K mile tune up - they forgot to reconnect the vac. hoses - my car broke down on a 2 hr road trip - I had to get towed to a dealer who fixed the problem and charged me $300. read more
