Hubbers and I joined a group of his buds for a weekend getaway at a house rental up in them beautiful hills of Malibu. We were in need of some essentials and this was the closest store. So after making that windy road down, Hubbers and I found ourselves up walking through here making sure we got everything off the list. I guess even with groceries location matters. I notice the price points here are slightly higher. (Makes sense. After all, this IS Malibu.) It isn't too bad, though, but what I do like are the coupons you can clip online and use in the store. We did find a few bargain buys we felt we could use for the weekend, so all good! I found a bit of trouble using the app and the cashier, like a pro, showed me with such ease. She was really nice! This might be a one and done (at least for awhile since I don't live anywhere around here) but a good first run at that. Should there be a repeat of that weekend run? This place would be my go-to!

I went to the deli at this Ralphs. On the sign it advertised 4 piece wing dinner with 2 sides for $8.00. The server started preparing the meal and went to a tray that had grilled wing pieces . I told her I wanted the fried whole wings. Nothing on the sign indicated that it was pieces. I thought I was getting a 4 wing dinner like KFC & Popeyes offer. A male clerk came up and tried to explain to me. He said Did you think you were getting 4 whole wings with sides for $8.00! My response was YES, since that is what's advertised. I will not go back to that deli!

The team is great and friendly, and the service is excellent. The flowers are fresh, and the kids' sunglasses are adorable. Occasionally, I can't find all the vegetables I need. Look for "reduced" items - mostly a good deal! Good for Pepperdine students!

I went to the deli department to get chicken as i have been for the last 5 years. I asked for the 12pieces which is offered at 3 x 4; the guy on the picture offered 15 saying its todays special - but i couldn't hear him well. He put in 2 thighs, breats and 6 wings and 3 drums in the box. I asked him its supposed to be 3 pieces of each kind and if its 15 or 16 pieces cause i couldn't hear him well with the mask and he wasn't speaking loud enough. He then gave me an attitude and said ok i will give you 12 pieces. I asked your todays special is 15 pieces or 16? He then repeated i will give you your 12 pieces. It was so rude and disturbing that i didn't want that chicken anymore. In fact i didn't ever wanted to come here again. Why do i have to deal with bad attitude and rudeness even as i spend own money and i was being polite to him. This guy is bad to your customers.

The Ralph's markets seem to be changing for the better. They are elevating their stores. I have noticed a much larger selection in all categories. The baked goods look delicious and displays are stacked. The cheese and deli sections feature hard to find items and Boars Head meats. You won't find a better selection of yogurts ! Also they have Halo Top ice cream which you cannot find anywhere else. Try it. It will change your life. Anyway, I enjoyed shopping at this Ralph's and am pleased with the changes they are making. 56/100

Spicy rainbow roll. $10.99 I took it to a nearby park. It was better than most grocery store sushi.

Bookmarked for future trips near Malibu!…read more Stopped in for lunch and ordered the wings and the Wagyu double burger, and both were outstanding. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, while the wings were equally satisfying and crispy (they were able to make me some with no sauce). It was exactly the kind of meal I was hoping for after a full day at the beach and on the road. The location has plenty of parking, which is always a plus in this area, and there is a nice outdoor dining space in front where you can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air while you eat. What really stood out was the customer service. One of the employees working near the deli area, I didn't catch his name, but I remember his distinctive earring and tattoos, provided exceptional service. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that customers had a great experience. The entire store was clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Even the restrooms were spotless, which says a lot about how well the business is managed. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I'll definitely be stopping back the next time I'm in the area.

Now imagine it costs twice as much as Whole Foods. Boom. The only reason why it's 3.5 on 5 is the exceptional customer service. Really really nice and down to earth staff. You'd only go there if you are a tourist or a local who doesn't want to drive to a decent grocery store. Everything is mediocre. Ingredients are not clean. There's a lot of variety, from cut fruits to breakfast burritos, baguettes to bagels, sandwiches to poke. Many of the wraps and sandwiches looked sad and dry. $12 for cut papayas and $19 for small cut mixed fruits (if you are thinking organic, nada conventional). It's still decent to pickup overpriced staples in a rush, convenience, but not for stocking up your kitchen. Will we be back, probably, since any other store in western Malibu is a minimum half hour commute.

Pavillions usually strive to be a more upscale market and out-do markets like Ralphs. I do not mind paying extra. However, I do mind being overcharged. I picked some small tomatoes on the ripe they were advertising for $5.99 a bag. I was charged $14.40. On our way to our car my wife and I wondered why we had just paid $50 for some eggs, a quart of milk, some mozzarella and some tomatoes. Checking the receipt: tomotoes not $5,99 but $14,40 (and: we said we do not need bags - the bag man had already started packing, said never mind - and we were charged for two bags :-( I went back to our cashier Ana, who strived to be the manager, and, of course, everything was my fault. I just picked the wrong tomatoes. I went back to the produce section - and there was this sign in the middle of the tomatoes I had picked - "tomatoes on the ripe - $5.99". Unwillingly, she followed me and someone must have out a wrong sign there. My mentioning that this were (a) the only tomatoes on the ripe and that (b) there were no other tomatoes on the ripe was shrugged of. I was eventually refunded - she tried to make me go back to the car again and get the credit card, but then refunded me in cash. Food good, ambiance OK, service meh. I will never go again.

I purchased the salad for myself and the Mac/Cheese for my niece. The cashier near the food & deli area was closed so I went to a regular checkout line. The customer care of the cashier was unwelcoming. I had to make her speak. I went to scan my Amazon code and she told me I wouldn't need it and proceeded to continue ringing up my items. I didn't think anything of it until she belted out over $40 total. She ignored that I told her I had a salad and still rang it all up as hot food. I didn't want to hold up her line so I got my receipt and change. I stepped aside and walked towards the eating utensils reviewed my receipt with my husband. I went back to tell her of the error. She had left her register or even better- maybe a manager noticed her rudeness and took her away. I knew the 2 coconut waters were $13. But being charged $28 for a hot meal in total when I had a small salad & small Mac/ch, ridiculous! She even saw the dressing and lettuce because I couldn't get the top closed securely. This is a lesson well learned! I'm not going to stop visiting this thriving shopping area not Whole Foods but I definitely will not go in the checkout line of this cashier. If the store did an audit of each cashier of May 25 between 11:30a and 2:00 pmand check for a charge for the aforementioned, they'll definitely pinpoint the clerk. I also got $40 cash back when I checked out. I can't write a description because it'll get flagged like the original post was. I had to delete the description of the employee. My rating would otherwise be a 5 but for her attitude, incompetence and lack of integrity. Everyone else and the whole vibe is awesome.

Yes, the line can be long, but there's a reason for that--this place is phenomenal. Between the incredible food, friendly staff, and stunning location, it's worth every minute of the wait. On our most recent visit, we ordered a 16-ounce clam chowder (in a bowl, not a bread bowl), a side of seaweed salad, a side of imitation crab salad, and the fried fish and fries. Not only was everything delicious, but we were honestly shocked that all of that food came out to around $50. The portions are generous, the quality is outstanding, and the value is hard to beat, especially in Malibu. One thing that always stands out is the hospitality. Everyone working here seems genuinely happy to be there. Every visit, we're greeted by smiling faces and great service. You can tell this place is run by people who care about what they do. Over the past year, we've tried quite a few items on the menu, and I can honestly say we've never had a bad meal. It's hard to pick a favorite because everything is consistently excellent. The outdoor seating area overlooking the water makes the experience even better. Sitting outside with fresh seafood, ocean views, and the Malibu breeze is pretty hard to top. We've tried the grilled salmon in the past- and it's nicely cooked and tasty - but the star of the show is their fried offerings. What could be better than a crisply fried piece of cod with delicious fries overlooking the ocean? They do a better job frying fish than much more expensive places (looking at you Santa Monica seafood restaurant). The coleslaw is always fresh, and we also love the creamy chowder, chock full of clam bits. My one note is that they do not season their food so you need to add salt and pepper to everything. The coleslaw benefits from salt and a squeeze of lemon or a few drops of the malt vinegar on the table (also good with the fries of course). I'm not sure why they don't season their fish or batter - but maybe they figure it's best to keep it unsalted and people can add seasoning? There is also hot sauce on the table which adds the perfect zing to the chowder. The people who run the place are friendly and the place is especially popular on weekends. I'd recommend coming midweek either before or after peak lunch hours. Highly recommend.
