This Ralphs is always pretty clean and the employees are very nice. Prices can be a bit expensive, especially if you don't have their rewards card. One thing I can't stand at this particular location is that anytime I need help finding something, I can never find any workers to help me. I always have to go up to a cashier. It's pretty inconvenient and if the cashiers are busy, then I'm stuck waiting in line just to ask a question. read more

I thought I'd give this store another try and I went to the deli to order a sandwich, needless to say I am very disappointed, the only good / fresh thing about the sandwich is the Boars Head meat and when I asked why the veggies looked old and wilted I was told "that's how they are". Your deli staff is extremely rude, not to mention they spoke Spanish to each other in front of us and that's very unprofessional. Lesson learned I wont be coming to this stote. read more

For years I've bought into the hype that the smaller health food chains carry a larger variety of organic foods, vegan friendly options and provided a better shopping experience. I've been shopping at Sprouts and Trader Joes for about 8-10 years and was a loyal customer until we moved to PQ and I have to say the Sprouts across the street is the absolute worse. I came to this Ralph's as kind of my last resort and I have to say this has been the best shopping experience I've had in years. The amount of fresh organic produce was much larger and contained twice the variety than Sprouts. They had an entire section for vegan foods, I was super impressed. The customer service was on point from the beginning to the end. To top it all off my bill was about $30 less than it normally is when I shop at the "specialty stores". Love when they have specials. I go here often for last minute groceries because it's so close to home BUT always glance at their expiration dates. Everything seems to be expired or close to it's expiration. It's already ruined a few of my dishes so now I'm very cautious before purchasing there. I'm talking everything packaged to dairy- check it. Service is hit or miss... Either a very friendly checker or one who doesn't smile if their life depended on it! read more

This review is for their Deli. I don't normally comment on grocery store chains but this experience was above and beyond a typical experience. I work close by and my coworkers and I are tired of all the restaurants near by. I decided to get us sandwiches made to order at this Ralph's deli. Helen Is an artist! Hands down. This girl made sure these sandwiches were perfect. I have never had a better sandwich ANYWHERE! When I brought them back to the office people didn't believe they were from Ralph's. This employee Helen not only made the best sandwich but her customer service was over the top too. Kudos to her for making our Friday lunch a memorable one. We will definitely be back to see Helen and her masterpiece of a sandwich. read more

This location is decently clean and organized. Parking can be hard to find especially during peak hours since there are other businesses on the town centre. I have to say their desserts in the bakery has tasted better now than in the past. read more

Good Ralph's location for the standard groceries and then right next door is a trader joes that is better for the more exotic. Both prices are about the same with Ralph's being a little lower at times. There's also self checkout and the membership is a nice benefit. Towards the back are baked goods that are on sale. Do not rent the rug doctor from here! I've rented it twice in the last 30 days and both times the machine wasn't working and won't suck up the water! I complained the first time they didn't even offer to exchange for a different one.. she said she'd call for service on them so I went back and rented again hoping it would work.. and still had the same issue.. I literally had the machine for only a few hours took it back and still no offer to exchange for a different one or even my money back! I've used the rug doctor many times before this and never had problems before! Must be this Ralphs in Carmel mountain!! Horrible customer service!!!! read more

Poor quality in fruits and vegetables. The majority of the selection were either rotting or the fruits were mushy. The person that bagged my grocery dropped the berries because he was playing around. I did not trust him to go and replace the once he dropped since the choices in berries were poor quality. read more

I normally shop at Scripps-Poway VONS, but stopped in to pick up a few things. I can't express how VERY impressed I was with their customer service at the deli counter! They were amazing - Not a single customer waited more than a minute before a deli staffer offered their help. At one point, there were 4 staffers waiting on customers. (At VONS, I always wait as there's usually only 1 person helping customers ... They need to take a lesson from this Ralph's.). Thx for great service! I will definitely be back! read more

This grocery store is my go to in the area and has the food I need. Download the app and load coupons easily to your Ralph's card. Every Friday there is something free they give away by downloading the coupon that you can get the next time you visit Ralph's. The employees are very nice and will ask if you need help when they see you. I enjoy the many self check outs too. read more

This Ralph's is in a good location. Unfortunately that means that it gets extremely busy around ALL of the holidays. This store is relatively clean, and the shelves are always well-stocked. They often have a staff member standing near the freezer section, which is in the front of the store, to ask you if you need help finding anything. I have found that I've used those employees from time to time, and they always take me directly to the item I'm looking for. They don't usually have too long of lines, except during the holidays, and they do open up more registers when they see the lines are getting long. To me, that is really important! I think Ralph's is kind of pricey, so I would definitely recommend the Ralph's club card of you shop there often. TIP: if you get the keyring app, for android or iPhone, there are extra coupons from cellfire you can add to your club card instantly. Totally worth it but you should do it at te start of your shopping, because it does take about 15 mins for the coupons to be linked to your card. They don't double coupons anymore, which is why I give them 4 stars. None of the grocery stores around SD double anymore, but that I find would be worth that last YELP star. read more

FOR. THE. LOVE. This is a great place to go if you need to get pumped up for a cage fight. Each time I find myself there, I have to literally pray in the car to have the patience to make it in and out. The only reason I torture myself is for the Boars Head meat, they are one of few that carry it. Usually there is one person working in the deli. AWESOME. Even better because there are about 50 hostile people in line. Sometimes, if you are quick, you can see other deli workers in the back before they scatter like cockroaches at the sight of a customer. I don't know if they sit back there and play rock, paper, scissors, draw straws, or fight to determine who comes out, but sometimes nobody is visible when you walk in for a while. I take full ownership that I make the decision to do this to myself when needed; however should it really be this way? Maybe having to work in the deli is Ralph's way of getting "jumped in" to the crew. I recently took matters into my own hands and purchased a mini air horn from Party City. You idiots don't want to come out? A nice loud brief blast sure gets quick service for me, and it only cost 1.99. With enough training and redirective behavior, they might learn to do their jobs, even if management cant. Until then, I will continue to be just as obnoxious with my air horn as it is to waste my time waiting for someone to get a clue. read more

The bakery is horrible! Ordered my daughters cake 2 weeks in advance and get to the store and her name is spelled wrong. It was a printed cake so it could not be fixed since the cake decorator left. Today is her party and she didn't have a cake. Then they had the nerve to try and sell me the cake half off with the name misspelled or a free cake from their box. On top of that they took the cake out of the box and it had some wrap around it that I didn't ask for. The guy that took my order didn't even listen to anything I ordered yet the spelling of her name! read more

Love this Ralphs especially the bakery section. The cupcakes are yummy. Have stopped buying birthday cakes for my kids birthdays from expensive bakeries and have stuck to getting cupcake cakes. The guy I think named William in the section is super nice and helpful. Overall a very clean and well stocked store. read more

Ok San Diego, who really writes a review of a grocery store anyways? I never thought in a million years I would be one to do so but in this case it was warranted. I haven't been to this Ralphs on Carmel Mtn Rd in a couple years but decided to do my grocery shopping there today. The minute I walked in, all I could say was "wow, what a difference". I'm not trying to be dramatic but the store was completely remodeled about 4 months ago. New flooring, shelves, displays, salad bar, deli, etc. They still have the self check out and express lines too. If you're in the area, check this particular store out. read more

Ralphs at Carmel Mountain is the most terrible store. The manager complained about my 11 year old autistic son. My son is interested in fans. He was touching one fan in the box. The worker said to my son "Don't break it!" My son was so upset and he hit her slightly. I know hitting is not good at all. That's why we treat autistic kids carefully. But the two workers were angry with us. " He hit me! The hitting is not right" "Yeah, he hit her. I saw that." Both of young workers blamed the disability boy with a mean reaction. I got upset with their attitude. I understand my son's behavior is not OK. But their attitude was worse to disability person! So I talked with the manager about this. He was terrible too. He had the same negative attitude his employees had. He said, " Hitting is not OK. The customers are complaining about him!" We have been struggling with his behaviors. But my son needs to go to public places. He needs to learn. The other stores workers understand him. If the costumer complains about him they should explain about autistic people and then make the customers comfortable. But the manager and workers at Ralphs Carmel Mountain blamed us. "The customer complained about him!" this means the disability person shouldn't come to our store and don't make our customers uncomfortable. This manager trains his workers to be heartless people. I am so sad ,hopeless and ashamed of these people. I have never ever had a horrible experience like this. But Ralphs at Carmel Mountain was the most terrible store ever. I never ever recommend Ralphs to any parent with a special needs child! read more

I went to the deli counter yesterday and the staff behind the counter is very rude, especially the lady with the short hair. I noticed it when I was there a month ago but I just figured they were having a bad day, but yesterday took the cake they are NOT customer service oriented. I told the cashier and she said they get lots of complaints about this lady.....then she shouldn't be attending to the public / customers, she should be in the back somewhere. There are several Ralphs that I shop at, depending on where my other errands take me. However, the Ralphs in Carmel Mountain Ranch is definitely my LEAST favorite. In fact, after a couple of recent experiences, I will be avoiding this particular store. Today, for example, I went by the marked-down rack specifically to purchase a few items that they featured for a recent promotion and I knew were being clearanced. The items I wanted were there --- but to my surprise, they were marked from two to three times more than at two other Ralphs stores I had recently shopped at. When I pointed this out to the employee marking down items and then to a manager, they were not at all helpful. They went on and on about how each store is different, etc. But the bottom line is that this store has much higher prices than surrounding stores, and they will not adjust, even if you have receipts. I will not shop at the Ralphs in my neighborhood. I wrote to them about my experience with the Del Mar Heights store and never heard back from Kroger. Shame on them for that. I met Eric (last name unknown) the butcher at this store and what a world of difference. He is friendly, attentive and helped me with my purchase. The Del Mar Heights store needs Eric to run the store. He actually cared about what I wanted to buy, he had inventory of the sale items I wanted and took the time to make sure I was happy. What a change from the other store. I will continue to bash their other store on social media (and I have a lot of followers) until they fix the problem or respond to my complaints. I took the time to write to them about the bad and now about the good. Eric should be promoted, given a raise and sent to the Del Mar Heights store to show them what a good meat cutter is all about. Go visit Eric in the meat department of this store and make sure you take a moment to speak with him. I don't care if you are buying dog bones, he is a real pro and a good guy. As for the Del Mar Heights store, I would avoid it like the plague. If you have the time, drive to Ralphs at Carmel Mountain and buy your self a steak, a chicken, a pork chop, I DON'T care, just meet Eric. read more
