This will be my shortest review to date, but this Ralphs location has become my favorite Ralphs in the Valley for many reasons, especially today. I called the Seafood Department to place an order for some fried fish. I had called last Friday around 7:30 p.m. to order fish, but it was too late. Anyway, Adrian (sorry if I misspelled your name, sir) answered the phone and was very polite and courteous while taking my order. Now, this is a "you buy, we fry" service inside a grocery store, so I wasn't quite sure if I could call in an order. But after my last visit, where I placed an order and walked around the store while the fish was frying, I honestly didn't see why they wouldn't allow it. I originally wanted catfish fillets, but they were out. Adrian offered catfish nuggets as a substitute, but I passed. I then asked for red snapper or rockfish, but they had neither. I moved on to cod, but at $19.99 a pound, I said, "Not today." Finally, he told me they had tilapia for $10.99 a pound, so I ordered two pounds. He asked what seasoning I wanted, and I told him I wanted to try all three -- Cajun, lemon pepper, and one other that I can't remember. He told me it would be ready in 12 minutes, and when I arrived 12 minutes later, it was ready! It was fresh, hot, and delicious. I could hardly wait to get back home and eat it all lol. I've gone here 3 times a week for 30 years, experiencing more good than bad...hence it is my go-to store. There are three big ongoing problems of note. 1. Cart management has been terrible. Just one example: after 10 extra minutes of my chasing a cart down, someone dumped my items on a table when I wasn't looking and ran off with my cart. I lost another 10 minutes finding a cart but did not have to re-shop for my now one-only pickings. Even more frustrating is that many carts are disabled because the strip that locks them activates five feet inside the parking ln some places. 2. Parking has gone from bad to worse as they designate many kinds of reserved spaces. 3. Shoplifting controls have rendered large areas of the store effectively unusable. Kroger is the most controlling grocer. I just wish they took us into account beyond figuring out to charge too much for average produce. I don't need 10 isles of beverages at the expense of other variety...their club scans are not noticing there are few people in those isles. read more

This Ralph's is the worst part of the whole neighborhood. I've lived a block away for years and they simply refuse to clean or secure the property. The parking lot is a wasteland. I could roll out of my bed into this location but we still drive to Trader Joe's every weekend. The strip of shops across the street isn't like this, the gas station on the corner isn't like this - it's just this Ralph's... bringing the whole zip code down. read more

Although I live in Orange County California, I am a regular here at this Ralphs because my girlfriend have friends and family here we regularly visit. She is Jewish and Sherman Oaks has a big Jewish community here. The neighborhood is not the best because it borders Van Nuys. But to the subject, I like shopping here. Parking is annoying here, and they need to hire more employees. People do steal from here. I have seen security chase them. Some of the employees may seem rude, but I have not come across any yet. But I still like shopping here when in the area. read more

I love and appreciate that this place is open late because I work nights. It is very close to my job so that helps. IM A LOYAL CUSTOMER AT THIS LOCATION I spend 600 to 700$ a week here. I like to take my bike doing my local errands. I've never had an issue leaving it outside but today there was a lot of junkies outside doing drugs and taking over the bike rack. I talked to the manager and she said it was ok for me to put it inside. When this security guard unprofessionally quicked me out and threaten me that he was going to break my chain a put my bike outside. I told him that if he removed the junkies I wouldn't have an issue leaving it outside. The staff were very nice but this guy made my experience very uncomfortable. I can believe Ralph's will rather loose a loyal customer than to actually do something to protect them. He was very rude and unprofessional,and denied to help me. Please do better Ralph's! This is a new location. Very clean. Very nice staff. Prices are the same everywhere. Food is just more expensive than it used to be.

I come here everyday to get my Starbucks and I also shop here. Today I had a horrible experience with Gerardo at the self checkout he was so rude and ignorant. he also accuse me of stealing just because I had a bag without any proof and he was very upset that I asked him for the code for a bagel. I should have spoken to the manager but! I had to go to work. The staff is usually very friendly and kind. But! This Man Gerardo needs be trained in customer service. I will avoid him now on. Worst possible Ralphs to go to. The staff is ignorant and rude. The isles are filled with so much crap they're pushing on you that you can't walk past someone without hitting them. Not sure why exactly I haven't written a review for this Ralph's yet. This is the closest grocery store to my house. So therefore, it is the grocery store I go to the most. I like Ralphs in general, I think their prices are reasonable. I think they have a good selection. I don't normally have any issues with Ralphs. That being said, there are some problems with this location. The first, is that they really tried to pack everything into a smaller store. What this means is that the aisles are very small, it's difficult to get two carts moving past each other. It also means that they seemingly run out of stuff a lot, especially in the produce section. Another problem with this location is the parking lot. First, it's nice that they have a parking lot! But, the parking lot is really weirdly laid out. It's also difficult to navigate. Part of this is due to people going the wrong way on the one-way streets, but it's a really weird parking lot. It's also very difficult to get in and out of this Ralph's location. Unless you're going north on Van nuys boulevard or East on Burbank boulevard and can turn right, it's almost impossible to get into the parking lot at this location. And, when you're leaving, it's almost impossible to get out unless you're turning right. So, I like this Ralph's location, but there are certainly some issues that are difficult to overcome. read more

The worse. They don't even have a manager to speak with people in person. Call the number and tell the voice response unit "manager" and it just rings and rings. No voicemail. The cashiers can barely form a sentence in English. They say you're in a lane for 15 items or less and when you ask where it says that they say the sign is there two aisles away. I would give zero stars if I could, specifically to the order pick up department and the GM who acted as if they had no interest in helping me at all. Yesterday they canceled my order and supposedly rescheduled it today. It disappears off the app, so I call several times with no answer. Neither the GM or the Manager of the online order pick ups wanted to take accountability for anything. I was treated as if this was unreasonable to ask why no one is answering any phone calls all day. Overall a miserable experience. Both of these managers should be ashamed of the way they handle customer service. read more

This is my go to Ralph's. I have one closer to my house but it is not as well stocked and the staff are not as friendly or helpful! This location is always clean and the produce section is well stocked with beautiful looking fruits and vegetables. Every section is laid out well and if you can't find what you are looking for there is always a friendly employee to help. They offer self checkout as well as cashiers and someone always is ready to bag your groceries if needed. Unlike the Ralph's on Woodman and Sherman Way. I only go to that location when I am desperate and don't have a lot time:) Oh, and don't forget that Starbucks is at the entrance to your left. Why not get a drink while strolling down each aisle! Makes shopping for groceries that much more pleasant! This Ralph's also offers specific parking spaces for Ralph's pick up orders. And during "Girl Scouts" cookie season, you can stick up on your favorite thin mints! Lol. read more

This Ralph's was well stocked, very clean and had an uplifting atmosphere. I was most pleased with the quality of customer service from Murray, the security guard. I'm a bit tardy in writing this review but I wish to mention David H. I had lost a binder of important (to me) papers and had a hunch I might have left them in the Ralphs on Burbank Blvd near Van Nuys Blvd. I asked David if the store had a lost and found and he looked through all the locked drawers before finding my binder. What a relief! Took his time, looked everywhere, all the while remaining friendly and cheerful and pleasant. If we'd been rushed or annoyed I may have given up sooner and not found my items, so once again, thank you David H.! This is my favourite Ralph's store despite I have one just half a mile away. The self check out crew (and other crew members) are awesome, always checking if we need assistance. The aisles are spacious and easy to navigate, without displays obstruction unlike the Encino store. read more

My old favorite 24 hour go to Ralph's that actually carries a surprising amount of everything especially in frozen and International goods. Fun staff, wide open isles and spaces plus my bank (US) is here and open 7 days a week. Their produce is relatively fresh and they upkeep the store A-okay. They get shopped pretty hard compared to other Ralph's in the area and/or often under replenishment. Self check out seems to be a breeze everytime I stop in. The bathrooms are often in incomprehensible conditions. Pretty big parking lot especially the side closer to Van Nuys Blvd and the gas station... however since they stay busy the lot can get a little dicey as people go whatever direction they feel like. read more

i stop by here every morning for coffee, staff is great, today i went in a little later mid afternoon , i walked in and i was smiling bc there was no line, i saw the girl who was behind the counter, she had braids, ( and african lady ) first time seeing her, and i said hi as i was walking towards the register to order, she totally ignored me, and i still waited assuming she is going to come near the register to take my order, i said i would like to order and she totally turned away and walked towards the back, wth, i told the manager and he said he will talk to her, ummm ok, thanks but no thanks, so i wasted my time in there and never got a drink. don't understand why people act in such ways, it is your choice to be there, so make the best of it. so sick of custome service lacking everywhere. read more

WARNING! DO NOT COME HERE EVEN SLIGHTLY CLOSE TO CLOSING TIME IF YOU DON'T WANT TO RAISE YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE! This location closes at 12:45am when they are supposed to close at 1:00am. Over 3 times I've parked and walked up to the entrance at 12:40 and they STILL didn't let me in. WHY have store hours posted if you don't adhere to them? The security guard is stuck in a job with no upward mobility so he uses his security guard "powers" to block people from coming in. Many times I have seen him smiling behind the locked glass doors when it's 15 to 25 minutes BEFORE CLOSING TIME OF 1:00am. Power tripping security guard, I honestly feel bad for him - The only place he has a sense of control is his little Ralph's domain. Not just his fault too - this Ralph's ALWAYS HAS CLOSING TIME AS 2:00AM ONLINE. I've seen countless people saying the time is wrong, that they are here before closing - no matter, the management here is just as unprofessional. MANAGERS, GET YOUR DAMN STORE CLOSING HOURS CORRECT AND LET PEOPLE IN IF IT ISN'T THE POSTED CLOSING TIME! THIS IS WHY EVERYONE GOES TO THE OTHER 2 RALPHS THAT ARE 5 MINUTES AWAY! Ana and Robin at the Deli have some of the nastiest attitudes I've ever seen in the customer service industry. The way these associates are treating their consumers due to lack of training or ignorance is beyond me. Either they don't appreciate the fact they have employment, (when so many in the world are without it) just makes me cringe for these big companies clientele. These people are the face of your company, and customer service is what builds businesses. No wonder this store has a average 3star rating. I'm sure the numbers are only good (if they are even good at all) due to the location. Ana got very snappy with damn near the whole line cause no one had a number, when the number machine was inoperable at the time. Then when I asked her what an item was in the display glass (that had no name tag on it), she was like "well it looks to me like it got meat in it!" Wow is all I have to say about that. So I cut that nastiness off like "never mind just give me a rotisserie chicken breast." I ended up having to relieve her of the hassle of giving me my item, and asked Robin to step in, Robin just rolling her eyes at me the entire time. I rarely go to this Ralph's location because I have one closer to my house around the corner. But, since I now pass it daily to take my son to school...I sometimes find it more convenient. It's a much larger and busier Ralph's but also it's always fully stocked as well. Having a Starbucks inside is also a plus. This particular visit was extra special because I noticed their huge selection of cheeses. What's even more impressive is that the cheese is categorized!! Such a thing is truly helpful depending on what you want the cheese to pair with or ways of cooking it. Currently, I'm in love with Havarti cheese. Ever since the pandemic, Ralph's has knowingly and intentionally understaffed their stores. None are more appealing than this store. YOU HAVE TURNED THE PEOPLE INTO THE LORD OF THE FLIES. Every single day there are lines that go halfway down the aisles. Many of the employees literally look like they will topple over from the stress. Customers all act like jerks because of the lines and naturally they take it out on the staffers. It is maddening. I have shopped at this Ralph's for 15 years straight as my son's school is one block away. Today was the last straw out of hundreds of straws. Stop setting up your store for arguments and every-man-for-himself tactics. Actually, I dont care what you do, I've moved on. I can't keep going back to this place as it feels like I'm back with an abusive lover every time I give it "one more chance" I'm tired of spending 1200 a month to wait in your lines and feel survivors guilt every time I get to leave and your poor employees have to stand there and suffer. read more

I must say that the Thanksgiving Dinner meal deal was so delicious! I was skeptical because well, it's pre cooked food that you just reheat. I was in charge of bringing this meal to the family gathering. We are a family of chefs so you can understand my nerves. For $70 I told my family Hey why not try it? We shop there all the time anyways. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! For $70 we got a perfectly cooked whole Smoked (optional) turkey, sweet Hawaiian rolls, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, mash potato, turkey gravy, stuffing, and an 8' pumpkin pie. It's meant to feed 4-6 and it really did. Our Husky even got some leftover turkey. Everything was full of flavor and the ease of reheating was the best part. DO NOT SHOP AT BURBANK/VAN NUYS BL. STORE if you have a choice or need to use restroom--Nasty Filthy Disgusting Pee & TP Covered Floor of Gender-Neutral Restroom!!! I never used their restrooms in the past 40 yrs living in Van Nuys, but I was on my way home from a hike in Santa Clarita and stopped in to pick up last-minute items for Easter Sunday. Being in my late 60's, nature called me to visit the ladies' but alas, no gender-specific lavatories available. Inside was a restroom with a filthy germ- & bacteria-ridden pool of pee and soggy wet toilet paper surrounding the toilet!!! It was so wet I was trying to avoid standing in the pee and getting my shoes all soggy despite the lug soles on them--that's how much pee & wet paper there was! So I put more paper down on the floor so I wouldn't slip while trying to perch over the toilet--hence I had to clean up not only my shoes but also the paper I put down on floor PLUS the UNSAFE & UNSANITARY wet pee and the soggy dirty paper someone else left all over around the toilet--DISGUSTING!!! Always enjoy coming to this Ralph's. Mornkng/mid staff is always kind. Some of the weekly deals they have can't be beat by other super markets. The only issue I have is that their nightly employees can be rude. I get it. It's been a long day, and other people were probably rude. But when I kindly ask where something is and you feel offended because I ask, that question just isn't good customer service. They always close like 10 to 15 minutes early from 1 o'clock. It's listed on their website they're open till 2 o'clock so they need to change it to 1 o'clock number one and number two they always close 10 to 15 minutes early every night which sucks so I don't recommend this place, they should stay open till 1 o'clock like they should and change their 2 o'clock post a time because it really close one, get it together Ralphs? read more
