Listen , I live in studio city, my local Ralph's was out of chicken wings , so I hit up every body around to no avail , then I decided let me give the Sherman oaks Ralph's a try. Again listen to what I say , they had the wings but this is not about the wings. Every one I encountered , from the wing man(sorry didn't get his name , I think he was the guy in charge of meats and poultry) , to some one helping me find buffalo sauce , to another persons walking me to the velvita cheese, to the wonderful cashier that asked me how I prepared the wings. The most amazing 10 minutes I have ever spent in a grocery store. Kudos to you guys , I have never had a better experience, honestly. This is gonna be my go to grocery store from now on, it's only few blocks further than the road but who cares. This Ralphs location is one of the worst--customers are low-priority here as evidenced by the mad house of a Saturday morning. On one of the busiest days of the week, this location chooses to keep half the self-checkout areas closed and then staff only about half the registers. When I asked the manager if they would open more registers and pointed to lines of people waiting everywhere, the response was a shoulder shrug. It was so fulfilling to leave a cart full of groceries in the middle of the aisle as I walked out the door and headed to Trader Joe's. read more

This is the dirtiest grocery store I've ever encountered. I know it's technically in the city of Van Nuys, but that shouldn't be an excuse to keep sanitation practices so poorly at this location. I was appalled when I walked down one of the aisles and saw moldy, rotten food and debris laying about on one of the counters where Ralph's is selling food to its customers. When I brought this incident up with the manager on duty, he said he's never noticed it nor any of his employees and it's not that big of a deal. I thought to myself, "How could a grocery store full of employees walking back and forth across the property all day long, not notice how blatantly disgusting their food displays were?" The manager wrote my complaint off with a shrug, and failed to recognize the issue at hand. I am appalled and disgusted at the lack of sanitation with this Ralph's location. read more

Disgusting attitude from staff here, I get there at 12:53 to get some fruits and they kick me out aggressively and demand I leave. When asked what their regular store hours were the staff member said "12:50". Bad business practices. read more

Its unfortunate that i been coming to store for so many years and had to endure false accusations of stealing by 2 employees, i felt sad and upset at the same time when the first time it happened just because the lady reminded me that i should let it go bcs she could be fired from her job and maybe bcs my tattoos she felt i was trying to steal gift cards , when all i have ask after i already had paid if there were active, her comments were just sad , i was not mad at all , but i let it got and when sees me , she rather look down or not look at me at all , the 2nd time this guy also stopped me and he was 100% i was stealing 2 bottles of coke that another person left it and decided to buy them and give it to the homeless outside the door , he listen the lady that was behind me wait to pay and said * That latino guy with tattoos just left without paying, Pablo * workers name , decided to raise his voice and ask me * Sir Stop , Stop , you need to pay for this things and ask for my receipt, i also let it go but i felt ashamed even after paying that i had to leave that door as if i was a thief. I decided to come back and give back to him the 2 drinks and receipt and told him to keep.him for him and made him apologize in front of all cashiers , the security guard was afraid that i was gone hit him , all i want it was an apology to be LOUD SO THAT EVERY ONE CAN HEAR IT . I m trying no to visit this place , i wont mention the lady's name because she is older and i feel that ppl will judge you without even know you ! I was leaving late at night and saw the shorter black security guard walk up to a sleeping homeless man and kick him as hard as he could, when the man went to stand up he kicked him from behind into the ground. He then called him a series of homophobic slurs. Absolutely disgusting. This man should be in jail, let alone fired. I called to report him and a teenager (assumedly) identified himself as Jessie the store manager and as I was explaining what I saw several people began snickering and giggling, and I could audibly hear the security continue to use slurs and laugh in the background. read more

I went here to waste some time while I waited at a Keyes dealership. This Ralph's is the largest Ralph's I've ever been to! I go to the cloverfield one in Santa Monica. This location has more ethnic options than my local Santa Monica one. They had jackfruit and passion fruit in the produce section and many Asian snacks in the Asian aisle. I've been going to this location regularly through the pandemic and using their pickup service for my groceries. This week, I ordered Purell hand sanitizer. I put notes that a substitution must be at least 70% ethyl alcohol. I got the text suggesting Kroger brand as a replacement. I selected yes. At the pickup, I told the employee not to close my order until I saw the Kroger brand to make sure it was 70% ethyl alcohol. He brought a bottle out. I looked at it and told him it's 62% so take this off of my order. I got a notification of my final receipt which included the sanitizer. When he came out he said he didn't hear me tell him to remove them. He offered a store credit. I wanted a refund. So I had to go in the store and wait in a checkout lane that a manager was working to get my refund. At home, my Mom noticed the diced ham we ordered was gray. We checked the date and it said USE BY FEB 4. The pickup was on Feb 15. Why are you filling our order with spoiled meat??? She called the store and spoke to a manager named Frank. He said he couldn't even offer a store credit over the phone and the only way to get my money back is to come back to the store. Seriously? In 2022, you still don't use technology??? I came in on Friday 11/19 and bought some boneless skinless chicken from the butcher counter. When I got home and opened the bag, the chicken smelled like rotten eggs (sulfer). I returned the chicken to another Ralphs and exchanged it. I found out from another person that it happened to her but with crab claws. Stay away. read more

Reading other people's reviews I think their complaints about only a couple registers being open is kinda stupid considering there is self checkout on both sides. It's 2019, like come on. I had a good experience shopping here until I was checking out. As I am loading up the conveyer belt with my many purchases, an older Ralphs cashier (Shonda?) is yelling very loudly about how Trump is the best president of all time and spouting out multiple arguments about why. She was so loud that I was two or three cashier stands away and she still seemed loud. She continued to voice her strong opinions obnoxiously without concern for the diverse customers around her. I spoke up from across the aisles requesting her to keep politics out of the grocery store. She, the Ralph's employee yelled at me, a frequent customer, saying it is a free country. Wow. I replied that we are a capitalist country and I don't have to shop at Ralph's anymore. That seemed to quiet her temporarily. The employees that were helping me with my groceries quietly told me thank you. They confessed they do not like working with her. So I waited a few minutes off to the side and filed a complaint with the manager. I cannot believe that a Ralph's employee was yelling and arguing loudly about politics at the customers. Steve G. (Manager) and Jose (Ass-instant MGR) offered me a $10 in-store credit after their "third-party" security company commited aggravated assault, harassment, and slander. I lived in Sherman Oaks for 12 years and spent nearly thousands and thousands of dollars between family members and myself. I purchased some items and decided not to purchase a bag, so I put the items in a handbasket and walked towards the exit. The security guard grabbed me by the handbasket and pulled me back inside while the handle of the basket was still around my arm. I was humiliated in front of people as the security also asked to see my receipt almost as if I was "stealing". I paid for all the items at the self checkout lanes which all of the Ralphs employees and security can pretty much see. It's not kosher what they did and not once did they care nor did they apologize for the humiliation. There's another Ralphs just down the street on Ventura and Hazeltine. This is by far the worse Ralph's supermarket I have been to. I mainly go there to get coffee. Don't be mistaken for the sign the says " Fresh Bakery". The croissant are hard as a rock and cold, taste like cardboard box, not that I have ever tried eating one. The worst customer service at the deli. Avoid going there if you can. I love coming to this Ralphs because they have everything that I always need in a small place. Also, it's open 24 hours so this is a very convenient location. I love the staff at this Ralphs because they are super helpful, kind and always go above and beyond. Tina from the self check out is very helpful, kind and has great customer service skills. She's always so attentive and has shown me that she truly cares for customer needs. I definitely recommend this location and I will keep coming back because the staff never seem to disappoint me and the prices are always better than anywhere in the area. read more

I have been shopping at Ralph's since for many decades. Some stores are better than othets. I used the ClickList a few times at this store. The only way I can afford to shop at Ralph's is to use digital coupons and get gas points. Ralph's also makes a donation to my favorite nonprofit. Apparently I did not get these benefitd at this store. We called to complain, and were told by manager AJ that we needed a new loyalty card. He added gas points for one transaction then told us we could pick up new card. No one at store knew anything. I trird again as the card should be okay online. I was not feeling well and decided to get home delivery. They use an outside service, Instacart. The delivery person dod not identify herself, got upset that she could not fond oarking, and msde my husband carry bags with his bad back, as she could not lift all the bags herself. A lot of my order was wrong or missing. She was not polite or professional since it was het job to deliver my order. I tried to complain online, but there is no record of my transaction. Ralphs or Instacart did not even provide a receipt, and I do mot want to ever use these services if they do not make things right. read more

The staff are always helpful and friendly. However. Who ever is in charge of the layout of the store is not from the planet earth, or refuses to understand physics. The amount of cardboard displays, over packed aisles, end cap displays that jut halfway out into the aisles, the center islands that bottleneck the main aisles make it so unpleasant to try and navigate a shopping cart through the store that I abandoned my cart and went to Vons. There is not enough room to have more than one shopping cart in an aisle at one time. There is no way to pass by another cart with out colliding with the shelves or one of the cardboard display obstacles. I paid an extra ten dollars for my groceries at Vons, but I didn't have to climb over a mountain of clutter just to get a dozen eggs. I would very much like to know if there is someone that would actually listen to constructive criticism on this issue. This store is laid out and packed like a hoarders house. This Ralph's always has what I'm looking for. They usually have some kind of deals going on in the fish and meat department. Service is friendly and helpful. The shelves are stocked neatly and kept in good order. When I've ordered groceries to be delivered, they always come quickly. I'll give it two stars because the staff have always been nice with me. What I don't understand is who decided to arrange this circus of a store. You think the cheese would be next to the deli meats, nope! Next to the meats is Juice and Diapers. Oh looking for zip lock bags, check next to the birthday cards.
