I didn't get her name but the woman working the cheese department tonight around 8:30pm went ABOVE & BEYOND. Give that girl a raise!!! I love cheese but I haven't ventured too far into trying different types. Something today told me to look at some cheeses and boy am I glad I did! She recommended me a great Brie since she saw me looking at the Brie cheeses. She tried to ask more detail as to what I was looking for, but I admitted I had no idea, lol. She also offered us a sample of a cracker that pairs well with the cheese and it was so good we had to buy some! We went to check out right after this and I was shocked to see her again while we were waiting in line... she literally came looking for us to offer a fig spread sample to pair with the cheese and crackers. I only did a quick in and out to pick up pre-ordered sandwiches, drinks and chips but, let me say this place is AMAZING compared to the ones where I live. The cheese selection here is so big it gave me goosebumps... NOT KIDDING!! STAR-STUDDED SERVICE: Why 5-stars on my first visit? 4 words. WILLIAM AT THE DELI. He took my order, got it right and while another employee was tending to me, he realized who I was and took the time to kindly greet me. END GAME: This guy can train at least 2 people I know in my 562 area code who are in dire need of an instructional session on how to be professional and courteous simultaneously. This is by far the best Ralph's location I've been to. I live in Hollywood, 5 minutes away from two Ralph's locations & will drive 30 minutes one way to shop here instead. It's much bigger, cleaner, nicer, more welcoming, lots of parking, more than 1 cashier at closing time. They don't yell at you at 12:45am to get in line or they won't let you check out. The staff was very friendly as well, even tho it was closing time and they were ready to go home. I much appreciated that. read more

One of the best Ralphs stores in the San Fernando Valley. It is Kosher by the way, meaning the meats are fresher and better quality than the standard meat imported in the stores. Anyhow, I shopped here a bit when I used to live in the Valley. We stopped here recently for some food for a company party. The workers in the store are real helpful in helping customers find certain products. Store is clean with a huge parking lot. Great produce and a good deli areas. Good customer Service here. Love this store have been coming here for so long. Went today 5/26 around 10 pm and the security guard stopped and stared at my sister and I. Never made his presence known. I was just looking down at the stuff in my cart and then look up and he's there. My sister was going through her coupons. It made us super uncomfortable. I suspect that people have probably been stealing and he's being more watchful but how he just stopped and looked at us it just didn't feel good. read more

When cooking for Thanksgiving I realized that I did not have a few things I thought I had in my pantry to complete the meal. One thing was a rolling pin that my ex took when she move out. LOL! Eddie, from the night crew, took the time to search the several locations where rolling pins had been sold, but which had been sold out. He guided me around a bit, asked other employees, and after a short but intensive search, found the few rolling pins remaining in the store. Oh...and while engaged in the hunt we spoke about traditional Hispanic recipes... Thanks to Eddie's help, my family was able to enjoy some homemade empanadas, the recipe for which I learned from my grandmother. And because of Eddie I will be returning to this store for all the ingredients they sell that I will need to make traditional tamales for Christmas. read more

Me and my wife came to this wife after getting some soft serve ice cream across the street. We been to this Ralph's before when we were in the area. It's a pretty nice and organized store, where we usually find everything we need. They have their own private parking lot and the store itself is on the second level. They do occasionally have homeless people around the store or inside but their workers handle the situation professionally. I was able to get the fruits that my wife wanted except the red plums. The bread was also a little expensive here so I'm planning on going to the Ralph's near my house where it's cheaper for the exact same item. read more

I do like this store however, twice in 3 weeks I've had issues with steaks spent very good money on being bad. The 1st instance, I went to open up the package for the meat department and there was a fly laying on top of the meat under the plastic wrap on a $22 steak. The 2nd time Happened today, I bought a nice steak, marinated it for 2 hours in the fridge, made all the sides, we bit into the meat, and it was a beyond rancid and sour tasting. Shit made me immediately gag and vomit. They need some major overhaul in their meat department if this type of Stuff is happening. I've shopped at Ralphs for 17 years with no complaints, and I've never written feedback for a grocery store before, but I have to plead with this location to please please PLEASE stop or dramatically rethink their "Ralphs Digital Deals" program. Forcing me to take 15 seconds to scan a digital coupon for every sale item I want to purchase (often dozens and dozens of items resulting in 30 minutes of completely wasted time every time I shop) is the worst customer experience I have ever encountered at a grocery store. Your customers have busy lives, and families, and things we'd rather do with our limited time on this earth then hold up the aisle for 15 seconds every time we want to save 50 cents on a loaf of bread. Scanning our Ralphs cards at the register should already give you plenty of data to know what your customers are buying -- there is absolutely no need to force us to repeat this action dozens of times throughout the store. I've spoken with many customers and Ralphs employees who agree that this is a terrible program, and, until it stops, I'll be forced to shop elsewhere. read more

COVID19 Review: This is probably one of the nicer Ralphs locations you will every go to. It is surprisingly small in terms of square footage, but it has it all from your produce to pharmacy to a decent selection of cookware and cooking utensils. From the outside it looks like a 2 store grocery store but the only thing on the street level is seasonal items like BBQ grills and oversized items. Parking is also split up into upper level and lower level with upper level being street level. The actual grocery store (complete with a Starbucks) is up an an escalator or an elevator. Relevant to COVID, all the employees are wearing masks and there is a sneeze guard shield between employees and customers at checkout. They do a pretty good job of placing social distancing markers on the floor by checkout. I have seen a number of employees pushing the online order carts around the store and they have signs for senior shopping hours. There is also a security guard to monitor the capacity in the store, which I greatly appreciate. I have been hesitant to shop at Ralphs over the last few weeks due to its bad press in the news on their increased number of cases of COVID at certain locations in Los Angeles. Thankfully, this store has not been one of them and I hope it stays that way, but in these times, you can never tell. The next closes Ralphs to this location was hit pretty badly, so I hope each location takes proper safety precautions read more

This is probably the nicest Ralph's I've been too. The staff there have always been very helpful, accommodating, and polite. They offer a great selection, decent prices (if you join their club), fresh produce, easy parking. I Love coming here because they have everything. You can find here a lot of things you usually only find at a specialty store like Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Sprouts. PLENTY of parking! read more

Enter the parking garage at your own risk. HUGE PROBLEM: the cars waiting to charge at the electric charging station on the bottom level of the parking garage block the way. They park on the road and no one can get through. Ralphs has done NOTHING about this and it causes accidents and huge problems. Until they remove or move the charging station to an out-of-the-way corner and not right by the entrance, this is a terrible place to shop. I assume it's people with no planning skills, who bought a plug-in electric car with nowhere to charge it, and now make life a nightmare for everyone else who actually have critical thinking skills who just want to buy groceries. Currently waiting in depths of the parking lot abyss waiting for pickup service. Order was cancelled twice already, four days later, we were told everything is ready. I have never been so excited for a 5lb bag of flour, loaf of bread, and cheese. The car loader is explaIning to every customer what went wrong, how "management" is changing the way orders are picked, while not loading groceries in the car. The woman working self check out this morning has zero customer service skills. And needs to watch the way she's talking to customers. The woman that's normally there is very kind and doesn't hover over somebody and tell them what they're doing wrong every item they scan something or look up an item like the woman did today. I drive out of my way to go to this store because it's always more stocked than other stores closer to me. But man am I sick and tired of having to bag my own groceries every time. Not only has my grocery bill gone up significantly (for the same exact items every week) but now I have to do all the work myself? Where's my employee discount? This Ralphs location has been nothing short of AMAZING, especially during the initial wave of COVID last year. They immediately took the proper precautions to ensure everyone's safety. We are now one year into the pandemic, and three things have stayed constant: fresh produce at great prices, the friendliness of all the staff, and Al, the store manager. I especially love that Al is so hands-on in the store and frequently on the floor, something that I've never come across at any other grocery store. Not only does he know each of his employees by name, he's just always this bright ray of sunshine (even at 6:30 AM!). He always greets me whenever he sees me and makes sure I'm getting the proper help that I need. This location is also where I went for my COVID vaccines, and the pharmacy staff is wonderful. As a nurse, I call in plenty of prescriptions to pharmacies and the wait time can sometimes be 15+ minutes just for a simple pack of birth control pills. I've never had to be on the phone for more than a few minutes with this pharmacy, and they're plenty busy. There are other grocery stores closer to where I live (including other Ralph's locations), but my loyalty will always be with this store. read more

Parking is a always horrible problem. Someone mentioned this in previous review and it's so true. The parking downstairs by entrance is always blocked right by the charging stations. People use the driving entrance as a waiting area for charging and it's a one-way so you have to drive past the charging stations to enter. I almost got into an altercation because a person who was waiting to charge refused to move their car claiming it was an actual waiting area while blocking the entrance. This is clearly a safety issue. And the only way to get around is to cut across the parking lot or go the opposite direction of the one way. Just threw out steaks purchased less than 36 hours ago with a sell by date of 07/12. Transported immediately and refrigerated at home without delay, but gray underneath and stinking. Dock and handling issues are obvious... pallets everywhere and produce rusted or rotten on the shelves. "Fresh"chicken accidentally frozen in the case. I usually shop at Trader Joe's but every now and then you have to go out side of your comfort zone for different items. I also never review chains but I have to say that this Ralph's has everything - everything for everybody. Included is a huge selection of Kosher foods, organic foods, free-range and grass fed meats and poultry, Fresh baked goods, a deli, hot and cold food bar, fresh sushi, giant aisles to move around, flowers, liquor, cooking utensils, cookware and so much more! Not too many places in town where I can get a spicy tuna hand roll, a box of Manischewitz low-sodium matzo thins, a meat tenderizer and a dozen roses . . . at 2 am. Oh and did I mention that they are open EVERY DAY from until 2 am.! This Ralph's has so much available anytime you need it. Worth a visit. read more

Alright, I waited about a month after waiting through almost 2 years of construction. From the outside this place looks ginormousical, because it is! There are a few different parking levels with escalators into the store (which were broken when I went). The first impression is what I describe as the Fortress of Solitude, the lighting display above the escalators. Pretty snazzy Ralph's. Next up the beautiful color coordinated flower display. I don't know if it was because it was Mother's day weekend or what but they have a major floral section. The ceiling is reminiscent of every Costco anywhere, Fail! The store itself was extremely neat and clean but the isles seemed a bit out of logical order. There is a giant Kosher section in the back right of the store and what looked like a decent produce section. I'll return but I don't think I'll be making this my weekly market. It's a bit overwhelming but I bet they have almost everything you could want or need. read more

I don't have a clue where to find most things in here but I can't say that I did before because I find myself right in the middle of this Ralphs and the Fresh Fare on Coldwater (which is my home Ralphs). Their renovations took FOREVER and now that they are finally open, things look pretty good. They have a great cheese selection and I really liked the idea of their "under $5" baskets, Boars Head deli with great looking sandwiches, sushi section (which my son really likes!), very large Kosher section, Coinstar, RedBox, LOTS of self check out kiosks and several other check out lanes. Huge beverage selection but not a great selection of sparkling water - I'd like to see them carry some other options - Pellegrino doesn't cut it for me. The store now reminds me of something more in line with a Whole Foods. I'll definitely visit more frequently. Plenty of parking, easy access (up a couple escalators or the elevator). Friendly service around the place. All in all, I'm happy but I wish the neighborhood wouldn't have had to wait so long. Patience is surely not my best quality. read more

What's happened to Ralph's in Sherman Oaks on Ventura? This has been my go to market for years, so long I went to the old Ralph's before the renovation where they decided to compete with Gelsons and Whole Foods and Now Pavillions. Come on 18.00 for deli sliced beef? 12.00 for Swiss cheese? The deli has gone berserk with their prices... I've found a cheaper alternative is to get your cold cuts at the kosher deli up the aisle from the regular deli. Not just the deli but the entire store has become so expensive, I know,I know inflation is ridiculous but come on when you charge these prices at least give some semblance of service with a . Lately you are lucky to get a response when saying hello to a cashier, just a scowl. Last week I said hello to the store manager and all I got was a weak smile! It seems you have to know him to get vocalization.it's a shame that the Kroger company doesn't realize the value of the returning customer. read more

First, the attitude of one particular checker who is apparently also a some-level manager. Apparently, it's a great offense to return merchandise even for good cause. I've never had such an interaction with a clerk anywhere ever. She was rude, she was hostile from the first syllable. No explaining it. But when she said, "Next time, go over there first," gesturing towards the self-checkout area, I really had to conclude she was just some kind of a nut because every time I've ever checked with the people she was talking about, they have sent me to her line. The clincher for me was that she took the item back and pretended to be pushing the right buttons at her register, but when I got home, the receipt showed that she had not in fact given me the refund/credit. So I had to call corporate management to get the money back/a credit on my account. Add all that to the lack of freshness of their produce (I've had to throw things away more than once one day after purchase). Who knows what's up with Kroger? I'm just glad their attempted purchase of Albertsons was blocked. G*d forbid they should be allowed to eliminate their competition, but it's not hard to understand why they would want or need to. P.S. I just read a review below dated 9/2/2023 which rang multiple bells for me. I guess the union protects this type. In their place, I'd put a camera and a recorder at her register. read more

All of the workers who do pickup orders are communicative, kind, and incredibly hard working. Zero stars for the reviews from entitled people who are expecting business as usual when clearly these are extraordinary times with unprecedented managerial challenges. A worker from a Sherman Oaks Ralphs died from COVID19 this month. What if this were one of your colleagues? Have some patience and compassion, people.
