I don't go here often, but sometimes take the wife out for breakfast when we can drop the little ones off at grandmas house. I am not a fried steak guy, but one day for some reason it sounded good, and it was AMAZING. I got it a few more times over the next little bit and it was the same, a beautiful homemade, flavorful dish. Unfortunately, a few months ago we did a pick up order and they completely changed this item. For the same price, you now two frozen store bought patties. I'm not a guy to waste my food, even if it's meh, but I didn't finish this meal... They blew it! The food was so, so and definitely not worth the price. The hash browns were terrible and I could not even eat them. Not sure how you screw up hash browns. The scone was good but didn't make up for the poor omelette I had. All in all the food was underwhelming and I think people figure if you get a big plate of food then that is enough. I figure if you got a big plate of food you can't eat then you just threw your money away. All in all, this place is overpriced for middle of the road food. I do have to say our server was great! Stopped in for breakfast with a friend this week. I had the veggie omelette. Lots of fresh veggies with light cheese sauce on top. Hash browns on the side were a generous portion. Their jam is homemade strawberry. It comes in your own little container, it has a nice fresh strawberry taste but its a bit watery in consistency. Our server kept the coffee refills coming and checked on us with friendly service, her name was Sandra, too, so of course she was great! Will definitely return! read more

First time trying this place. We arrived with a line outside got put on the wait list. While waiting after maybe 30 min noticed new arrivals being seated. Somebody crossed out our name and didn't call us. Food was bland and the scone was so greasy we ate the edge. Chicken had so many tendons and a bone. We decided to try this spot out to try something new for breakfast on a Saturday. It is typical old school family dining and feels very country. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated even though there were plenty of tables open. We perused the menu and waited a while for the server. We ordered our drinks and when they came husband asked for water as well but didn't receive it until the 3rd request and it was a tiny cup compared the huge one I was served. Server said not to worry she would refill it for him but she never did. I ended up giving him water from my cup. Husband ordered the everything omelette with a scone instead of toast and I ordered the special berry crepes with hash browns. My plate came with bacon so I asked to have it on a separate plate so I could give it to the hubby. The look and attitude the server gave at my request was a huge turnoff to the start of my meal. As if my not eating meat was offensive to her. When the food arrived it looked great and we were famished and dug right in. That's when I realized the crepes were full of cream cheese. Not exactly what I wanted and there was no description anywhere indicating what the dish had. So I scooped it out to eat just the crepes and berries. The hashbrowns and eggs were salty but the hashbrowns still tasted good. The eggs appeared to be cooked to my request (over medium) but once I started eating them they were slimy and not cooked fully. The scone was huge and delicious especially with the homemade jam. Husband enjoyed the bacon it was cooked well and he liked the flavors of the omelette but it was just too much food. And it wound up upsetting his stomach later. The Bountiful location is out of the way but worth the visit. We tried the Navajo Taco and it is the best. The Scone was tender and tasty. The beans and vegatables were freash and just right. The local police and senior citizens go here for break fast. We came for a family breakfast to the local, old school dinner. The comfortable booths enable us to contain our kids. The service was fast and friendly. The food was served faster than we could decide and order. The kids wanted to hug the server and she was more than happy to treat them to big hugs and treats. The smothered burrito looks good but was too much food for one person and very heavy with all meat fillings, grease, and a little spice. My wife got the eggs Benedict with hash browns. The sauce was perfectly smooth and not excessively rich. The kids likes the smiling pancakes with eggs and bacon. The lemonade was good and the kids loved it. If my folks were visiting then I might take them to this old school dinner. But I would not recommend it to friends who prefer healthier or lighter breakfast option. read more

If you're looking for a decent food, reasonable prices, and a cafe in South Davis County, this is probably your best option. Food: It consists of your typical breakfast and lunch, but with the occasional special. Depending on the cook, food quality can vary between pretty good to below average. Good luck getting an egg over medium or hard. They seem to only be able to do scrambled or over easy. They are not consistent because of personnel turnover. Prices: $6.99 to around $9.99 is the usual range. Service Most of the time, the service straight up blows. Generally, the servers take your order, drop off your food and beverages, and give you the check. Good luck getting a drink refill because the servers either go AWOL or actively try ignore you waving and/or yelling to get their attention. The best part is that the place doesn't have to be busy to get this type of service. It's provided for free 24/7. Conclusion If this place was located elsewhere, it would be out of business due to their inconsistent cooking and hot garbage service. However, it lucked out because Dee's closed down and this area only has an IHOP, VI, and Black Bear to compete with it. Unfortunately, despite it's problems, it is surperior to all three. On the bright side, there's still hope. If you don't mind a trip to west NSL, there's a place called Alice's. The owner of that place is the exhusband of the owner of Rambling. That means the menu is very similar, but Alice's has more consistency with its cooking and has far superior service. So, go there instead, cook at home, or travel to SLC/Ogden for better options. read more

This is a family owned restaurant and very quaint inside. They portions are large and well priced and they serve quality food. We ordered take out one morning and actually sat down another. I should have taken it as a warning when I drove up to the place and the only thing that I really noticed was that it was an Elk's Club. But we are here so let's give it a try. Never got my cup of coffee. Water seems to be a suitable sub. Ordered the Bacon Spinach Omelette and was taken back by the Hash Browns being bigger than the omelette. This was a pleasant surprise. The location is a little different and it's clearly an old lodge. The decor is fun with a lot of nostalgia. The food is a feel good ,diner fare. The plates come out with good proportions and you will not leave hungry. This isn't a location looking to offer a spin on anything. Exhibit 1: Tried to charge us for food we never got, then when we complained they brought it out cold and congealed in a box and tried to make us take it. We were told to "just heat it up in the microwave" and "take it home and make something with it", so now we have to make the food ourselves too? Would have been much faster. Left us waiting for over a half over over a scone. Massive attitude when we asked for our money, very insulting. Exhibit 2: Went in for breakfast, again with the attitude. Was told 5 minute wait, was actually 20. Finally sat and ordered, then was left for 70 minutes with no updates and cold dismissal from staff. I finally had enough and just left. I lodged a legitimate complaint this time and received an insulting, passive aggressive, excuse laden rant from management. Might as well have just given me the finger, would have been more sincere. Eggs were perfect and hash browns crispy. Would have preferred crispier bacon, but at least it wasn't limp. I should have asked for crispy, so can't fault them for that. Flavorful cafe-style coffee. But the scone was way too oily - all the way through. That's an issue with temperature of the cooking oil. It also tasted like it had been fried in the same oil as other items, like fries. I'll come back again and try something else, but I don't think I'll take a chance on the scone again. Wanted to try their Kahlua Hot Chocolate (haven't had it since college) but was alone and I'm an alcohol lightweight. Guess I'll have to bring a "designated driver" next time. read more

The breakfast I have way over priced. I ordered potatoes, eggs and stake. I had two to threes pieces of hamburger, an unknown number potatoes and two eggs. By far the potatoes were the main part of the meal. The potatoes were very will done. They looked like big bred chips , like you get in a salad. The eggs were placed on the top of the hamburger and potatoes. My eggs were over easy. I was told by the waiter that pancakes or a scone came with the meal. The potatoes did not absorb the egg yoke. I was not given a spoon; therefore the egg yokes went uneaten. The scone couldn't be use to absorb the egg yokes. When I was given the bill I was charged for the scone. I rate the meal as terrible. I was looking for some classic dinner food and found it. I am not sure what this building used to be but Ramblin Roads seems like it's been there since the start of time. There are fun snarky signs around and a multi-seasonal holiday tree. Right now there are hearts for valentines. We all got breakfast and were extremely happy with the portions and flavor. The Sundance scramble was great, it had plenty of meat and cheese and gravy. The scone was delish just a tiny bit oily. The services was phenomenal and even offered my fiancé chicken strips and waffles after he found out that chicken and waffles must have been a daily special, not something on the standard menu.
