The Ramen is OK. The hawaiian menu, which we order beef shorts ribs kalbi was similar to uno. Just the way my kids love it. I'm just surprised that they don't serve katsu curry. But overall it was great. 5 star for sure. Make sure you go up front and order and then take a seat. read more

I've only got the same ramen the last 4x which is the black garlic one and it's the only one I'll probably ever get because it's perfect. The only thing I wish is that it came out super hot. It's always came out just warm enough but I like my broth scalding . Forget the adding mushrooms, get extra corn and green onion. The noodles are perfect though, still chewy and even when I reheat leftovers they still don't get soggy. Oh, and the garlic pieces are deliciously sweet and the chili oil is amazeballs. For ramen that's nearby I feel like they have a good thing going on but I haven't tried any other flavors. Checking in this new restaurant in town, this place is exactly the same as in Sacramento Ramen place. A bit pricey because the portions are huge which is reasonable. I had such high hopes for this place being a frequent patron of their other locations, but this one!?!!! What a disappointment. We had the black garlic ramen medium spice, shoyu ramen spicy and spam musubi. At first glance everything looked pretty good, and I thought to myself "Yessss!!! I finally have a goto ramen place out here." But sadly NO if your looking for thick, rich, warm, flavorful broth with melt in your mouth pork...look somewhere else. The broth was super thin, with no spice at all. Even after adding a bunch of togarashi (Japanese chili powder) it still did not help. This is so unfortunate because the noodles were nice and chewy and everything presented pretty well. On top of the lack luster broth, the egg in the shoyu ramen was cold, I understand how everything is pre made and then warmed with the broth, but it should not taste like it came out of the fridge. Also, after one bite of the 1/8 thick spam musubi, it fell apart. The instant ramen from Costco has more depth and flavor than this, it's cheaper and you can get it in bulk. read more

one of my biggest complaints about this restaurant was the set up. the restaurant can't really handle a big restaurant and has no real room for people placing to go orders or picking up orders. when we first got there, i noticed people just sitting down at tables who weren't planning on eating in. it's so small inside, you're practically shoulder to shoulder with the person at the next table, and the gaps between tables really don't seem wide enough to let bigger customers through without bumping the tables. the staff were really nice, but my tonkotsu bowl was so bleh. none of the ingredients tasted like they soaked up the brother. i tried some of my husbands bowl and his actually tasted flavorful! i added fried garlic into my ramen, but it didn't taste fried. it tasted burned, like actual crisp. the chasu pork was really nice, but the mushrooms were tough. the ingredients didn't feel cohesive. i really liked the gyoza because of how nice and crisp they were, but my takoyaki was just not good. it didn't taste as fishy as it should have and just tasted like a giant piece of dough. there was one point where i didn't even taste any octopus in it, and at least two pieces were burned. just a very mediocre experience in general. read more

Honestly the worst Hawaiian food I've ever had. Probably the worst thing I've ever eaten to be honest. We were super excited to try this place, heard it was worth trying. We got the musubi , chicken and katsu plate and the kalbi plate. First off the rice was over cooked. The Mac salad had no flavor. Kalbi was fatty, slimy and undercooked. The spam musubi look like half sized dog treats. The chicken and katsu were decent but the teriyaki sauce tasted sour and the katsu sauce was decent. Honestly I really hope the ramen is better because this was a total disappointment and we won't even bother giving this place another try. Spent $40 on the worst meal of our lives. I wanted so badly to give Ramen 101 a 4 or a 5 star review. We had never been here before and we had some questions, so I called. When I tried for several minutes to get through, with zero success, my other coworkers decided to call too, someone would have to answer eventually. When they did finally pick up she said "Ramen 101 please hold" and just like that i was placed on hold. My other coworkers decided to keep trying, no luck. After I sat on hold for 8 minutes we decided to give up and order online. But to our surprise there is a "convenience fee" to order online. I find it odd they charge to order online but not if you order to go at the store or by phone (when you can get thru). Eventually my coworker was able to place our offices 5 separate orders by phone, (no convenience fee). Unfortunately the main issues we had were purely due to the fact that we got our lunches to go. We had apps of fried gyoza and edamame, they put the gyoza in a wax paper bag and the edamame in a plastic clamshell container then they were put in the same plastic bag. Edamame obviously full of water so it leaked and steamed in the plastic bag making the gyoza that was in the wax paper bag collect the water and steam. When we got back to work the gyoza was soggy and wet because the bag had so much water collected inside. I saved what I could of the gyoza by placing the less wet ones on paper towels. E were not given any sauce with the gyoza like the online photos show. One coworker had fried tempura and had the same issue, they put her food in a plastic shell container and the tempura in a wax bag allowing all of the steam condensation to collect in the tempura bag, so it too was soggy and limp. The person who ordered the chicken katsu was not given any sauce either. The online photos clearly show a sauce. The Ramen was delicious, we were very happy with the flavor and will definitely give them another chance. I hope to update my review with more stars. read more
