Our party ordered shoyu, miso, and shio tonkotsu ramen. The waitress was very generous with the appetizers. She gave us a complimentary fried gyoza and shumai. We the broth was on the lighter side, but the egg was cooked well and was marinated. Noodles were on the thick side. The location and counter and tables seating. It was clean and the decoration was Japanese inspired. The only downside was there was only one functioning restroom.

A couple of my friends and I came here for lunch on Sunday after running a marathon earlier in the morning. The weather had turned quite cold, so it was a perfect day for a bowl of ramen. We were there right when they opened at noon. Good thing as the place was packed in a hurry. Had we shown up just a few minutes later, we would have to wait for a table. We all ordered some hot tea. As for ramen, I got their Uchi Kuro ramen. It was a soy sauce based broth with fried garlic, wood-ear mushroom, chashu, ajitama, spinach, and scallion. While it wasn't the best bowl of ramen that I've had, it was a pretty decent bowl for what I would expect in Reno. Service was nice and friendly. The lady that I assumed was the owner even threw in some gyoza on the house.

Small, cozy and entirely welcoming, such a hidden gem full of carefully crafted soups. It's next to impossible to leave hungry. It is the best ramen restaurant by far in the city, and well worth the stop.

Never disappoints. Got to try out the ucikuro, and it was absolutely delicious. Service is great, always treating us super well. And the ambiance feels just right, alone or with friends.

Went here on a rainy night for ramen with a few friends. The space is small and it was a busy so we were waiting for quite sometime. I don't recommend coming here if you have a big party. Since we were a big party of 6, they couldn't seat us at a table so we were seated at the bar. It took them a while to get our order. And when they did, it felt like our waitress was rushing us. Their ramen in my opinion was okay. Since we were waiting a long time, our waitress ended up giving us appetizers and a few bottles of free soda on the house which was greatly appreciated! If you come here, I recommend keeping your party small and being prepared to wait during dinner time.

Loved this place. We went there for dinner today and loved everything that we tried. We ordered the Takoyaki and they were perfect crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. For the main course, we ordered two Ramen- the Jigoku Special with spice level 2 and it was the perfect spice level for us. The noodles were firm and the broth was flavourful. The second Ramen that we ordered for Uchi Kuro and it had lots of garlic in it (which I loved) . The broth was salty and flavourful. We also asked for fried garlic and chilli oil for the table. For drinks we had water and a Coke. The best part about this whole experience was the server- she was the sweetest!! She gave 2 Japanese drinks and a diet coke on the house. She was so warm and welcoming! I see this place becoming my favourite ramen place in town. It's good a good vibe.

Came back again recently and I still think this is the best ramen in town! While Ramen 4 Real doesn't seem to be hurting for business, I think there's an easy opportunity to elevate the vibe inside. The one thing that is giving the interior a hole-in-the-wall look is the mismatched wall paint. A nice coat of black paint to make all of the walls match could go a long way in uplifting the ambiance. The food here is top notch, and the restaurant deserves to look top notch as well!

I love real "word-of-mouth" suggestions. I'm here because a co-worker has been loving it for years. How had I never even heard of it? It first opened in 2017. He said order the Miso Hot 'N' Spicy. This was my first time in a ramen restaurant, and I was thinking it's probably not much different than outa the package at my house! I was kinda figuring something like what I ate in college. Nope. This ramen is elevated! Super tasty. The broth was almost creamy. The char-broiled Pork Belly. Sweet corn kernels. Spicy ground sausage. Aaaand a perfectly-cooked medium-cooked egg. Also bought potstickers. Yup! Super crunchy. And the friendly helpful hostess/waitress knew every person that walked. Decided to try the Bean Balls for dessert.

Loved trying this ramen place on a cold rainy day. Their potstickers are amazing. The hostess also gave us complimentary spicy sausage appetizer. We each got ramen and it was full of noodles, extra pork, egg, spinach and seaweed. I got no spice but added chili oil. The broth and noodles are good, not amazing. We arrived right at 12N when they opened and the restaurant filled up quickly! There were a few reserved tables, lots of bar seating and a handful of small tables in the seating area. The restaurant is small but service is extremely quick, food is good and portions are generous and filling. We couldn't finish our bowls after also enjoying the appetizers.

My first visit here, came right at 12 when they opened up. So let's break it down, I've had ramen in both San Francisco and Chicago, some of which is direct transplant straight from Japan. For Reno, this is cool to come check out if you are craving ramen. But to me, this just doesn't hit it for authentic ramen if you have ventured around a bit to truly experience what it is supposed to taste like. Service was great, food came really fast, and our server was very friendly. Noodles were decent, broth was fine, but absolutely lacking depth. Thing for me is, I've had some really great ramen, and I even make ramen at home to fill the void of Reno not having anything that compares to true ramen. This definitely will not keep me from making ramen at home. True ramen eggs should be marinated and brown on the outside, these were not. I could almost overlook that, but the Chashu really disappointed me. I'm not sure if it's because I came right when they opened or what but ours doesn't even look like everyone's else's pictures. I was really looking forward to the Chashu itself because it does take a long time to make and I'd love to find somewhere in town up to my standard. Ours came cut almost paper thing like lunch meat and did not really taste like anything other then plain pork slapped on a flattop. Total bummer for me, consistency is everything, and the second the Chashu hit the table my mind went, "hey what gives?" No idea if maybe the rolled logs just weren't ready quite yet so they cut them thin to keep them from being hard to chew. This was a total bummer. The other thing, the bathroom, is clearly having drainage issues, there is water up to the top of the drain, and MAN did it smell bad, the smell of backed up drain water is hard to miss, and very unique...

Stopped here while in town for work. With the temps dropping it had me craving soup so this place stood out when doing my search. I was seated quickly at a high table near the front window and placed my order for a Miso Ramen. The server returned less than 5 minutes later with my bowl of goodness. The broth had a great umami flavor and the pork was super tender. The soft boiled tea egg was tasty as well. This place is a little tough to spot when driving by but don't let that deter you. read more

Orders: UCHI-KURO | MI-SO HOT | POTSTICKERS This was a last minute, lovely find that we will definitely be returning to! Reviews warned that this place leans spicy, so I was sure to order my Uchi-Kuro with spice on the side & it was perfect! The Mi-So Hot looked great for spicy / corn-lovers. If you're looking for an authentic ramen experience, it doesn't get any better than Ramen4Real. From the Japanese style broth, the Chashu, and all the add ins, it's absolutely delicious. Ramen4Real is a small resturant with bar, table and half booth seating, lower lighting that feels inviting and cozy and was on the quieter side as they weren't very busy. Our server was very welcoming and friendly, let my family pick our table and was awesome throughout our entire visit! read more

Located in the strip mall next to 101 Tawianese, can be hard to find since there is only a sign on the door. Inside is small with only a few tables and bar seating. But service was very quick and food came out fast. Menu options are pretty small. Have a few extras to add in your ramen but no "build your own" options for the actual ramen. Taste was average, didn't stand out to me. Pork was a little heavy on the fat which may just be my preference. Good portion sizes. What really stood out was the fried shrimp. I don't understand how this place isn't 5 star rated. The service and food (mi-so hot ramen) here was amazing. Very friendly and helpful staff as well. The setting and ambiance of the restaurant is amazing with Japanese culture/Features. I live in Reno my whole life, and never have tasted ramen sooo good, not are the noodles not soggy but medium firmness, not only is there 1-3 levels of spiciness, but that broth also has flavor. Great service, fast easy and professionals. The location is great and the atmosphere takes you back to the home land. Highly recommend the pork jikoku special level 3 if you can handle the heat add extra noodles and on top of that red bean buns. 10 thumbs up! read more

The place in itself is not super charming and almost needs a little bit of a remodel. They played random pop music you would hear in a H&M and it didn't match the vibe as much haha. However the food came out fast, and the service was friendly. Food tasted good, but it was missing the wow factor. It's basic, you get what you order. When we walked in the lady with the eyeliner right away says "no seats" super rude then walked away, then We had to ask how long of a wait and she responds with "idk whenever they finish" so we decided to leave since she wasn't that nice to begin with. we would have stayed if she was nicer and maybe greeted the customers a little better. This was our first time trying ramen, and needless to say, it was phenomenal! We went back a few days later because it was all we could think about. I honestly don't write reviews, but this place blew us out of the water. Truly our dishes felt like something you would get homemade by your elder that makes you feel so much comfort in, and a dish that you long for. I would highly recommend this place over and over again. The lady there (unsure if she's the owner) was so nice and surprised us with free sodas and free appetizers just because! Super cute and quaint establishment. Cozy when you come in super cool coming out of the 100 deegree weather. Our "waitress" turned out to be the owner. She was exceptionally friendly. Fried shrimp shumai: so crispy and so soft at the same time great flavor Mi-so ramen: super freshly made and good flavor. If you don't like corn, I don't suggest you try it, but jf corn is your thing, GO FOE IT! 4th Ramen down, can't remember the name: this 1 had fish flakes and the pork belly. I was extremely impressed with the broth. read more

It was the first time in and I will be back. The restaurant is cozy and relaxed. The offerings are perfect and really tasty. I got the Miso Hot and potstickers. Both were full of flavor and very good. They serve alcohol as well. The service was amazing. We sat down and took a few minutes with the menu and the food came out fast with a surprise. They are very attentive and quick to give you refills etc. love this place. Try it out. The price is right and the location is great. read more

This is great and small spot if you are ramen fan. Love trying out small spot ramen, found this spot on yelp. I love pork belly and I saw 4 thin slice top of the ramen bowl. I had to come over and try it out. I am also a thin noodle type of guy and this place has this. Service and food was outstanding. You come in, try greet you? sit you down and order. Order came out quick.. I finish both bowls in a good amount of time. That sat here after I paid to digest and type out this review. I will be coming back when I am back in town. read more

I discovered this place back in 2021 and it has since become my favorite place to eat. Food here is always great with my favorite being the Jigoku special. Customer service is also great, as I'm always greeted with a very welcoming atmosphere. read more

There is not sushi bar setting as that other section of the restaurant near the bathrooms is really utilized except maybe the large table for a larger group.

When I tell you I drive all the way from Sacramento and look forward to eating the ramen here I mean it! The service is always amazing the place is very comforting. I had the miso-hot added tofu it was very flavorful! My fiancé had jigoku ramen level 3 beware it's spicy but it's so good! I think this is my 3rd time here will definitely be back again! This restaurant is unprepared to handle conflict, especially when it comes to serious accusations like dining and dashing. Instead of verifying the situation, staff jumped to conclusions and handled things unprofessionally, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. The food was also pretty mediocre, which didn't help. Overall, not a place I'd return to. read more

While they don't have many dishes, they do ramen very well!!! I eat here with my friends every now and then and each time the staff make it a great experience. Last time we were here we got a couple of appetizers on the house and a few Japanese drinks as well. If you're looking for a solid bowl of ramen this is the place. read more
