Damn good for the price, had the beef fried noodles and chicken katsu curry. The noodles were enough to feed 3 people and although not the best tasting you can't beat the price. Curry was lacking some depth in flavor but all in all we couldn't complain. A meal like this for us on Kauai would either be half the portion size or double the cost for the amount. We'll be back for sure next time in Kapolei. read more

The ramen came out before the appetizers. Which was kind of weird but we ordered everything at the same time so it was fine. We ordered pan fried gyoza, fried shumai and croquettes. The black garlic udon looked nothing like the picture and the garlic flavor wasn't as potent as I expected. It tasted good though. My brother ordered the chicken katsu curry udon and he said it was good but the seaweed in the curry wasn't his favorite. Good service and big portions though! read more

Ramen Bones (formerly Daiichi) Kapolei is usually busy around dinner time. We were planning to eat at the curry house near this location but the wait was outrageous and Ramen Bones had a table available. The servers are not very friendly but the food comes out relatively fast. I ordered the combo, tan tan ramen, chicken katsu, and a curry rice. He ordered the gyoza curry. I enjoy my food spicy so I did ask for my tan tan to be "extra spicy." Curry was a little on the sweet side but still a good choice. He said his gyoza was still a little crisp and he enjoyed that. The only reason we gave 3 stars is because the servers were abrupt and unfriendly and that can put a damper on an otherwise good evening. read more

Stumbled upon this place via Yelp because we were craving soup noodles and didn't want to trek all the way to Waikiki for some. They have some really great value combinations here, including one with four pieces of gyoza, a bowl of tonkatsu ramen with one piece of pork, and a generous plate of fried rice for only $11. We opted to add extra pork for $2 and were extremely full from the ramen alone, plus had leftovers. I definitely think their food is a bit more Chinese influenced as opposed to Japanese, as their gyoza has a thicker skin and resembles steamed pork dumplings moreso than your traditional gyoza. Also, they had an oxtail ramen, which definitely tasted like something I've had at a Chinese restaurant before, but it was super soothing and comforting nonetheless. The staff is pretty friendly and they even have a bowl of dumdum lollipops to choose from at the end of your meal. this location is really close to Ko'Olina. We stayed at aulani so this was about 10-15min away from us. We came here for lunch and I ordered the Tan Tan Ramen. They have combo meals where you can order a mini size ramen (choice of: miso, shoyo, and shio broth) with a choice side for $7 or two sides for $9. I figured like all other ramen places I've been to, portions are quite small. So I got the mini size tan tan ramen (oh and it's 75cents extra if u choose a special flavor broth) with two choices: fish katsu and mochiko chicken. AND I ordered extra noodles for $1 something. When the bowl of ramen came out it was HUGE. I think it was bigger than regular size portion ramen. It was filled with noodles (YUM!). the noodles were cooked perfectly and had the bouncey chewiness. LOVE! The tan tan ramen broth is a little nutty (had a hint of peanut flavor) nonetheless it was flavorful and strong. The fish katsu and the mochiko chicken did not disappoint either. Both sides were good. The fish katsu was crispy; the chicken were meaty. Eric L's bowl of ramen (regular size) had a good amount of noodle. He ordered the Zansai Ramen and to me it tasted like the Asian satay / bbq sauce where you use as a sauce for hot pot. Noodles here are good, generous portion for the price you pay - you are guaranteed to be full. Get the set if you're hungry and order extra noodle. I typically stick to a low carb lifestyle, but I allow myself carb freedom days. I heard really good things about Ramen Bones in the past. This was my first time actually trying their food. I used to frequently pick up other order for people via door dash or Uber eats, and they have good service with me when I pick up then. This was my first order for me. I got my order today go I did try to ketofy my meal some, got the tan tan ramen, no noodles extra broth and vegetables, paid for extra charsiu and extra of the ramen soft boiled ramen eggs. As well as 3 orders of gyozas and 1 order of the Chicken Kareage. I made sure to repeat the order to confirm it with the girl 3 times, It was about $40. Which is typical prices for that type of order. Ordered to go, got home to enjoy my meal to find that they gave me the noodles anyway, forgot the extra broth. I tried everything separately and everything was so bland compared to the delicious ramen I grew up with going to Sanoyas (but they are all the way in town). The ramen eggs that is supposed to be soft boiled was had boiled, and that was with out the broth added. Maybe they cooked more from the residual heat from the gyozas, but I was really looking forward to the gummy orange marinated ramen yolks. :( The gyozas were unfortunately very bland, and underwhelming. I was really wanting this to be a rave review. I want to give them the benefit of doubt however, because 1 this is during this stupid pandemic, and I got it take out to be easier. I may give them another go dine in to see how it goes, and I will do a separate review as well as an update as needed. The best thing about the visit and the thing that is making me willing to try again, is the Chicken Karage. It was the best Chicken Karage I have had in a very long time. The Char sui was also very yummy moist, fatty and delicous. It melted in my mouth as it should. If given a choice I would just eat the broth, char sui and chicken karage. The idea of a ramen chain seems odd to me but it works here. Pick your noodle type, ramen or udon, and soup/broth from a long list. Then select your toppings. They have a happy hour 2:30-5:00 during which any noodle entree coming with free gyoza, 4 pieces. The girls working were very nice. read more

First time here! Absolutely amazing place to dine. This place is in a great spot because it's right next to Foodland my favorite place to shop for island favorites. Anyhow, stopped here because I was craving for ramen. Just a few minutes away from the resort we're staying at. This place came highly recommended by a family member. I did not have to wait too long to get seated. Staff was very friendly. Order Mini Tonkatsu and a small pork fried rice. Wow, I can still remember the taste of that superb delightful broth. OMG! OMG! What a delicious find! I thought what a strange combo Katsu Chicken curry ramen, but they use a little thicker broth for this ramen. My son had the more traditional cha shiu ramen which was also yummy. This was an outstanding find and carries a high standard like the long established ramen places in Japan. Although the staff was not Japanese it did not matter. Great food is great food and I would encourage you to try this restaurant if you're in the area and, if out of the area, travel so you are in the area. Thank you for being open past 9! Practically everything in kapolei closes early. They were happy to accommodate everyone who walked in this night. I tried the combos and they looked small in the picture, but when they came out, it wasn't that small, we were surprised. YES! It tasted good! I had the miso base ramen with curry and rice, i couldn't finish it all because I was so full. My friend got the fried rice and it LOOKED GREAT, she got the shoyu base ramen, I liked her soup better than the miso. Nice place to eat and at a good price. I'm not sure if it's because I live in a predominantly Asian area where ramen is abundant... but we were not impressed with Ramen Bones and I'm pretty shocked by the 4 star rating. We ordered miso ramen, curry, and egg rolls. The miso ramen was not good at all - the three of us couldn't even finish one bowl because it did not taste good. My husband got the curry rice and he thought the price for the quantity of food was excellent, the taste was average. The egg rolls weren't bad, but all the filling came out when I bit into it. Everytime I visit Aulani, I somehow end up here. I like it here! It's such a good deal! I usually order and mini ramen bowl with a side of fried rice or gyoza. The ramen and side plate is only $10! Such a steal! My recent visit, I noticed it wasn't called Daiichi anymore but the menu and ambiance of the restaurant remained the same. My bf and I both ordered the mini bowl of ramen and I opted for a side order of curry rice and he chose chicken katsu. That way we can share a chicken katsu with curry! Despite the small portion, it filled us both up. It was a quick and easy lunch and I definitely think its the best bang for your buck, especially if you're trying to escape the high prices of Aulani and it's surroundings. I enjoyed Daiichi Ramen and was kind of bummed when I saw a new sign, but we decided to give them a try, MD so happy we did! The menu is "basically" still Daiichi, so you won't be disappointed. The best deal is the combo sets where you can pick a Ramen/Udon and either one or two more choices for a reasonable price. The Black Garlic Ramen along with the Tan Tan, are favorites! Pair that with some pork fried rice straight out of the wok and some gyōza, and my meal is compete! So Ono! Basically, if you love Daiichi and Ramen Ya, you'll love Ramen Bones! read more

BUT my auntie came here and and asked about/for extra spice and dude was hella rude about how if you're asking, you want no spice. and then there was NO spice. Months later, I ordered extra spice when called for pick up and there was... none. Is negative spice a thing? It tasted like it would have tasted good if it was spicy but it didn't taste like anything. Service Sucks!!! Showed up at 830pm, restaurant doesn't close till 930pm but was told after waiting for quite sometime outside for a table that "were only accepting take outs". When we questioned the Asian lady and gentleman at the front they just excused us as if we didn't exist. We returned in because at this point we were IRATE. We explained that when we showed up there was a party of 3 waiting for their pickup order, we advised the Asian man who was being very sassy and short that he should have said something to us when he brought out the take out orders. Again he excused us and carried on with his duties. I explained to them that they just lost loyal customers and we will NEVER eat at their business again. We ordered the food and it came immediately. The service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The food is oh so delicious. The ramen soup was just what I needed and made us all feel so much better. The portions of the food was perfect for the price. The other patrons in the Ramen Bones were seemed very satisfied as well. We were in and out in a jiffy. Prior day made 2 orders - food was amazing. Next day Ordered for total of 1 and co-worker went to pick up. Got back to office 2 things missing black garlic ramen (part of combo) and soda. Ramen Bones was called to report missing items. We were given hard time- felt we were being accused of being liar that 2 items were missing. No attempt to make amends or replace 2 missing items." No apologies given during this call or when later to get money refunded on these soda and ramen. Food is very awesome but service is terrible and that's why 1 star.
