Best Ramen in Portland! Omg! I tried almost all famous ramen shop in Portland, this is the best in term of price and quality! You have to try it so you know what I am talking about! It's only $8.25! It 10 times better ramen than Aiko Ramen, which could charge you $12 for similar ramen! My top list: #1 Ramen Ciro #2 Kizuki this is much more expensive ramen shop. Their poached eggs are the best! #3 Afuri. Most expensive but the broth is great!

Sam killing it with the ramen bowls!

I tried the PSU location 2 days ago and happened accords this one today, I figured it must be a sign considering how much I loved the first bowl. Thank the gods this locations is equally if not more delicious! I'm addicted. I would recommend this place to a friend.

I never thought ramen can be in food trucks. I watched the guy who made my ramen, and it seems like the broth is premade so all he had to do was scoop it and put it in a cup. It's really good though, and real spicy. I have been judgmental on Japanese food in food trucks but glad I tried this because it impressed.

Kuro ramen on the left, and Aka ramen on the right. Both delicious! Worth the try!

This cart is no longer on 3rd - did it move somewhere else in the area? The 4th Ave location is too far to go on a lunch break!

Thanks for asking and I am so sorry for inconvenience. We have been waiting for news on how the new regulation/law on food carts will be (distances between and qualification of food cart pods etc) before determining the exact spot to lease. But it…

From the second my partner and I walked in at 4:30 PM, we were greeted by a server who made it immediately clear we were bothering them. When seated, I asked for a dinner menu thinking they'd given us a lunch menu by mistake. I was told dinner doesn't start until 5:00 PM (something listed nowhere online, despite their online presence highlighting all their dinner options). And since when does lunch run up until 5pm? The latest I've ever seen is 3 or 4. The final straw was asking about the only vegan option on the menu, which was labeled "spicy." When I asked how spicy it was, the same server gave a completely patronizing response: "I'm not sure your level of spice..." My partner and I looked at each other in shock at how openly rude this person was. We got up, picked up our stuff, and walked out before ordering. I'm 51 years old, and I can count on one hand the number of times in my life I've walked out of a restaurant due to bad service before even getting food. Sadly, this was one of them. The gap between how great this place was portrayed online and how poorly we were treated in person was staggering.

Let me tell you, if they had this place in Seattle, it would be poppin' for sure. Loved the decor, and the service was amazing. We were a party of 8, and they did the most to get us seated. They even combined two tables for us without too much wait. We appreciated this so much! This is one of those places where you order at the counter, and they bring your food to your table, although they also seat you. So you wait in line to order, and then you wait a little longer to get a seat. The menu is on a huge, lit-up billboard behind the counter, so you'll see folks crowded in that area trying to read it. The food was alright, no one was particularly blown away. I got a pho, and I would say it was okay. I think you come here more for the vibe and scratching that craving than for out-of-this-world food/flavors. The music is good, the servers were all super friendly, and it's a great vibe. Food was solid, but I feel like the ramen was missing a bit of pizzazz. Lovely service and a nice casual ambiance. The last ramen took a while to come, but with a larger party I imagine it was a simple mixup around orders. Okonomiyaki Fries - these weren't bad, the okonomiyaki part was just the toppings. I did expect actual okonomiyaki pieces (flour, cabbage, etc) mixed in. Would have preferred crispier fries (they were a bit soft) and also some extra salt. Might skip in the future or try another appetizer instead. Zen - the basic ramen for building! We added bok choy and an egg for a lighter meal. Nice that they give a whole egg (for $3) because the preset ramens come with half. Noodles were great, and pretty filling given the default price point. Add ons are great to enhance the taste, but won't impact fullness too much. Yuzu Shoyu - personally thought the preset ramens were nothing special. Barely any greens, felt like just a garnish. One piece of chashu and half an egg. Noodles were tasty though! Broth was on the lighter side.

The kitchen brings out steaming bowls incredibly fast, filled with rich broths and excellent toppings with an efficient, straightforward dining style. Tonkotsu Shoyu (4/5): A deeply comforting and classic bowl of ramen. They offer a generous portion of perfectly cooked noodles paired with plenty of fresh vegetables like spinach, green onions, and mushrooms. The soft-boiled egg was perfectly yolky, but the dish would've been elevated even further with a slightly more generous serving of chashu pork. Tonkotsu Red (5/5): A unique variation for those who love a bit of heat. It shares the same chewy noodle and vegetable foundation as the Shoyu, but has a spicy broth that builds and ramps up the more you slurp. The heat was a distinct, subtle numbing sensation reminding me of Sichuan peppercorns, creating an incredibly flavorful and unique twist on a traditional tonkotsu base. Logistics Tip: This is a fast and casual self-service setup where you walk right up to the counter upon entering to order from the menu displayed on the wall. Indoor seating is limited to a few long, communal tables, so be prepared to potentially share space with other diners during peak hours, and remember to bus your own dishes when finished. I can see the hype and I would get it again if there were no other options, but there's something missing in the tonkotsu broth that would really take it to the next level. It needs more flavor and way more meat. The fried chicken had absolutely zero seasoning and I would not recommend ordering. The gyoza was just okay, I found them to be very oily. Overall this place was just... good. I'm certain I can find better. The customer service was great, but another thing that bothered us were there were sooo many flying insects inside.
