Hey Foodies, Lately I've been interested in trying new types of sushi. I've only ever had California Rolls as my safe choice. I read the reviews for this place and decided to give it a try. So glad that I did! My first visit, I showed the hostess a picture that I saw on their reviews, and she explained that it was a Spicy Kani Roll. After ordering that the first night, I went back 3 nights in a row! That's literally how delicious it is! I tried the roll with and without avocado.. both variations did not disappoint. Side note: Would recommend calling instead of dealing with their old online ordering system. Also, rating is for the convenience and quality compared to most generic sushi spots and not a general rating (if this was compared to some omakase spots or Hibino or something.) This would be one of your standard local medium sized generic sushi spots owned by non-Japanese folks if it wasn't for a couple key differences. I have first had consistently good meals here which is not super surprising given how long they have been open. Also, they offer surprisingly some Malaysian dishes and Thai food along with the usual mix of Japanese and Chinese and their quality is surprisingly good and especially for the price point. The three roll combo/maki lunch which would normally be perhaps $18 in some spots or more in the area or otherwise and only comes with your choice of miso soup or salad is $15.99 here and comes with both said soup and a simple salad. For sushi, the rice isn't too warm or too cool and the tuna and salmon quality is fine though I would skip the eel cucumber as they don't give that much eel. The yellowtail is fine and the rest of it is standard with the cut sizes being decent as well for all of the sushi. I would say the spicy versions are slightly lesser quality but that's the case in 90% of places. Of course, the salad is standard with the usual generic ginger dressing, though I would say by comparison, I haven't had bad lettuce here compared to some spots. The miso soup is generic and alright but it's nice to get both. They also give you soy sauce in a little container instead of those tiny Kikkoman packages and everything is very nicely separated compared to most spots. I haven't bothered having the other food here but what I'm looking for a quick and very satisfying sushi lunch, I order from here which is pretty frequently and would be more so if I wasn't a 15 minute walk each way. Sure you get much higher quality sushi from some of the fancier spots such as Hibino in Cobble Hill but they give you two rolls which cost more. It is similar quality to Iron Chef House nearby at least in terms of sushi (there's some other things that are better at the latter such as the tuna teriyaki and having lobster ramen.) The people also are very nice here at least for my interactions when getting takeout and they seem very nice to anyone eating here also. Would recommend if you're in the area and you want filling good sushi. read more

Came here for dinner and was seated right away. The restaurant was kind of dark and empty so we thought it was closed at first. The staff were super friendly and helped us decide what to order. I think we ordered just the right amount of food for two people. I really like the rolls - my favourite was the dragon roll. The sashimi pieces were fresh but some pieces were a bit fishy for my personal preference. The sushi pieces were pretty big so I got full pretty quickly. The quality is the same whether you dine in or get takeout, and if you're close I'd recommend calling your order in as opposed to ordering via the apps. It's so rare to find a sushi spot that has outdoor seating, and this one even has an adorable backyard patio that's private and quiet. Really kind staff at this bistro. Five stars for their delicious tempura shrimp udon soup (such crispy, light tempura!!) and three stars for the lunch-special rolls like the Pacifica and Phoenix.
