I was looking for good ramen place near the house. This one had 4 stars so I figured it was good. It was not. The mapo tofu was ok and the Thai tea was good. The gyoza was actually really good. That's where it ends. The char siu they put in the ramen was tuff. It was either old or overcooked but it was bad. The Ajitsuke Tamago (egg) yolk was hard. The broth in the tonkotsu was not good at all. The flavor was awful. My son who loves tonkotsu normally drinks all the broth only ate the noodles. I also tried the broth and it's probably the worst I've had. I would rather have the tonkotsu bowl at Costco. The char siu ramen my daughter had wasn't much better. Same issues with the char siu itself and the broth was very boring. My mom ordered the chicken katsu curry and it was a let down too. Although the curry itself had good flavor, the rice was very dry and there was not nearly enough curry. We really love ramen and was very disappointed. The service on the other hand was good. The food came out quickly and staff was friendly. The restaurant was small but clean.

I thought this place would be a 3-3.5 star, as soon as I tasted their Tantan noodle. However I changed my mind after eating their sesame mochi balls!! Maybe it was just out of the pan and it tastes sooooo goooood! Best that I've ever tasted. Hubby says this is his childhood place when growing up, and he always ordered the same thing - combo number 1, curry katsu and ramen. I agree with him, the katsu was pretty good, crispy on the outside and juicy on the outside. It's just this tan tan noodle was a bit off - maybe it was an innovation, however I was expecting sesame crusts to be more authentic. Staff was friendly and efficient. This place starts quiet. While gets more crowded for lunch as the time past noon. Seems a popular spot in the neighborhood.

I ordered from Ramen-Ya on Doordash and they came through! It arrived pretty fast and the mini combo I ordered consisted of Mochiko Chicken, white rice, mac salad, Gyoza, & mini Shoyu ramen with noodles. I like how they separated the noodles from the soup and put it on the side. Everything was at the right temperature too and the portion sizing was big for a decent price. I would for sure come again. Yummm I will say the chicken was kinda hard to chew from what I remember, but I can't complain the ramen was perfect and I loved the broth. Affordable & delicious. I've never eaten inside so I'm basing this off delivery service. Gyoza - 7/10 Ramen - 10/10 Mochiko Chicken - 8/10

Ramen Ya is a great ramen shop! This review specifically is for the Tan Tan Ramen. Ever since trying Tan Tan ramen at Goma Tei, my taste buds have opened up to flavorful and delicious tasting ramen. So i wanted to compare the two. The bowls are around the same price but are way different than each other. The broth is good with the noodles. Veggies aren't astounding. Not much of a veggie fan so. If it went well together I could tolerate it but I would rather just eat the noodles and meat. The char siu meat was really hard to bite and chew, it hurt my jaw just chewing on it. I was really excited to try out tan tan ramen here because my expectations were met by another ramen shop and it just didn't satisfy as much as the other shop did. Also I ordered a side of chicken katsu and was given the tiniest container of katsu sauce. When I saw it, I won't lie, my mouth dropped. I didn't know whether to laugh at how tiny it was(It was like the size of a quarter) or be upset that I have to ration my sauce with all this chicken I have. That tiny container was enough for one piece of chicken katsu. I saved it for my leftovers so I could head to the store and get my katsu sauce so I can enjoy it more. I still love and will continue to eat at Ramen Ya. Other restaurants have their own great, special food that make you want to come back and enjoy. Tan Tan ramen isn't one of them. But regardless, Ramen Ya offers the best combo meal by far on this island! And I have to give it to them for that. I'd rather come here for a great tasting mini ramen combo with chicken katsu curry and their delicious gyoza!

The Seafood Vegetable fried udon was good, but it would have been better if there were more noodles and seafood than vegetables. When I say more vegetables, I'm talking majority of the plate was vegetables. Just me, it needs to be at least 80% noodles and not the other at around. The tempura was not bad. What I will say is that the parking is so close and convenient if it isn't busy, and the food is done quickly. They said 15 minutes, we got there a minute after and it was ready & waiting for us. They do have a lot on their menu so I would like to try something else next time. read more

My boyfriend and I are huge fans of Ramen spots, especially if they serve Unagi (eel) bc he's loves it. I just love Ramen, and curry, and We've been to a few Ramen-Ya's around the island but we're making this one our fave! Everything was so delicious and all the servers were so friendly. Food came out quick and tasty! I order Special A which came with Ramen, 4 piece gyoza, with a choice of side ($12). I got curry Katsu with fried rice instead of white ($2). Yes, it's a lot. I couldn't even finish half of it. The chicken Katsu lacked flavor but everything else was bomb. Mike really enjoyed his huge slab of unagi that he got with his Unagi Combo ($15). It came with 4 pieces of gyoza and miso soup. That was the biggest piece I seen any Unagi plate come with in a long time. He orders it at many different restaurants but none of it comes with a piece so large. We will definitely be becoming regulars here. read more

We decided to give this location a try since it just opened! We absolutely love Ramen Ya! We go there at least once a week. So, when this location opened up we were excited since it's closer to our house! Our food tasted great, as always. We had combo A (ramen, fried rice and gyoza), chicken katsu curry rice and Tantan ramen! This was the first time my son tried their Tantan ramen. He said it was the right amount of spicy. Service was okay. They all said hi and welcome as we came through the door. We ordered our food and it came quickly. But, once they dropped off our food they never came back. (Which is why I decided to give them 4 stars). We'll be back again and hopefully service is a little better. read more

Always check the Sunday newspaper and Midweek for a fifteen percent off coupon. This is our favorite Ramen joint and we've found the ones in Kapolei and Warden ave by the Navy Marine Golf course are just as good. We always get a couple of the combo deals: Ramen, Gyoza, Mochiko Chicken plate for under ten bucks is a fantastic value. Fast, friendly service. Great food, awesome value. read more

This place has been our go to for comfort food especially all their meals. The amount and proportion they gave are so large and I feel like sometimes they loosing money however I'm satisfied. I love their mochiko chicken and their shrimp fried rice are my all time favorites. Their gyoza are also amazingly tasteful. My husband loved their mabo tofu. The way they packed your food is also very stern and always there to greet you even the pandemic changes everything. read more

The food and portions here are really great for the price. The combo sets are definitely the best bang for your buck, especially if you order during happy hour when you can get a free 4-piece gyoza with your order. The service here is great, and the employees really take care of their regulars. Orders typically take no longer than 10-15 minutes to process. This is a great option for Ramen in 'Ewa. read more

When we arrived, they quickly brought our drinks (1 coke, 2 waters) and then upon asking questions about their menu, we learned they only used pork broth. We don't eat pork. We explained this. They said they could make the ramen with plain water. We declined and left. They STILL charged me for a coke I didn't even take one drink from. Ridiculous. read more

My family and I love this place. The staff are always very welcoming and attentive. My husband and I always order one of the combos and our boy gets the Keiki Ramen with no green onions. I order a combo but upgrade it to a Mapo Tofu for a couple of extra dollars with the Spam Katsu or Fried Rice with no peas. Also, the combos come with Gyoza. The portions are huge in my opinion and I always have leftovers for lunch the next day. This is our ramen go to. read more

This is my first time in Hawaii and wanted to try one of many ramen restaurants. I was so surprised to learn that this was a chain restaurant. You would never know, the staff was very friendly, fast service, big portions. I will be in the area a long time and will not eat at another ramen restaurant. I had the combo with curry ramen, curry chicken katsu and dumplings, fantastic !!! I will return and recommend this place to everyone !!! read more

Love this chain, and this is my local place. This is one of our regular take out places for family dinner. Everything they cook is good, their noodles are my favorite when I don't feel well. Super fast service and they take call in orders for pick up. Dining area is more spacious than many other locations. Give them a try. read more

I went on the day of the grand opening with my dad and sister. We would usually go to Ramen Ya in Kapolei, so we were glad that one finally opened up in Ewa Beach. The food was great as usual. I got the spicy seafood ramen, and my family ordered chicken katsu ramen and fried rice with ramen. I took off a star because of the service. The employees are super nice but it was kind of unorganized. When I went to reserve a table, they didn't have a list to organize parties when the restaurant was full, so we waited without knowing how long the wait was gonna be. The people next to me waited like 10 minutes to get the receipt after they paid for their food. read more

I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for some delicious and affordable ramen or katsu. The restuarnt is clean. The service is good. The food is amazing. Always one of my favorite place for good helping of unagi. We discovered the Kapolei location a couple of years ago and with the help of a coupon enjoyed their delish dishes. I fell in love with their meal C which includes Unagau bowl with white rice and ginger, gyoza and good size miso soup. During a certain time you get complimentary gyoza with your meal. They have an aray of yummy udon , curry and rice plates. Service is formal, fast and food has never disappointed me. The Ewa Beach location is new and the evening we came here it was not as busy but service was as reliable as the Kapolei. We enjoy seated at the bar as our little one likes to watch the cooks at work. Overall it is a good place to grab some ono meals. read more

My boyfriend and I like coming here when there's no food at home and we don't know where else to go. The portions are so generous for the price! My fave is the kids meal mochiko chicken and curry plate- its a lot of food to finish I can't imagine it being a kids meal! The workers are always friendly and attentive. Ramen: If you're a ramen enthusiast, you quickly pick up on broth that is 5-star worthy (athentic, savory, flavorful that makes you want to keep going back for more). At Ramen-Ya my experience didn't compare to those world renowned ramen shops in Japan or even Agu Ramen here locally with regards to taste, but I can say for sure that their service and very friendly (and accommodating) staff made the atmosphere very pleasant, warm and welcoming. read more

This is my favorite place to eat, I come here all the time, so i don't even need a menu! I always order the chicken katsu curry, or beef curry itself. However, I've tried basically everything on the menu and it's all delicious! The service is always great, they're very nice, and I always tip around 30% because of that. I'll come here for as long as I live lol read more

Hot food, fast service? That's already a win for me and I haven't eaten the food yet. I got the two selection combo. I was expecting a small portion of ramen due to the special price but it was a substantial amount. I was too full with the curry rice and chicken katsu that I couldn't fully enjoy my ramen so I asked for it to go. Even the to go packaging is high quality. 10/10 would recommend this place!

Even though this location doesn't carry all of our favorites from Mililani, we'd still definitely come back. Black garlic ramen - 4.5 stars. The charsiu is unique because it has a smoky taste on the sides, and they give thick slices. Huge servings of every item we ordered. The soup was pretty good, but it didn't have a strong black garlic taste compared to other ramen restaurants. My friends ordered the oxtail and shrimp ramen, and lots of oxtail as well as large shrimp on top of the ramen. They loved the soup. The chicken katsu was huge and flavorful, but a little on the oily side. Service - 5 stars - service was great. Server was friendly and attentive. Parking - lots of parking, but crowded. I did not see a sign to scan the QR code for the parking as we drove in, and turned right into the front of the restaurant, as other yelpers mentioned, so not sure where it is, but at least nothing happened to my car.

One friend had curry udon and a piece of katsu from her husband's meal. She said that's what she usually gets (she is a noodle fan). I would actually come back to try other dishes now that I've tasted the curry sauce if I can figure out how to avoid long waits. Not sure that's possible but I plan to try.

Ughhhh, bad experience. We've visited a few "Ramen-Ya" joints but this one wasn't great; kind of BAD. Customer service was non-existent and it took forever just to get one small take out box. They messed up the order and when I questioned her she didn't seem to understand what I had said: my son decided to just eat it as is. Not going back, YUCK !! read more
