I've been going here for their cold soba and other take out items almost everyday for lunch. I have been to all the Ramen-Ya's and this place makes the best gyoza compared to the others. Other places use a lot of bean sprouts in their gyoza to stretch out the profits but this one doesn't. Each place uses their own recipes including the curry. Good customer service too. read more

Their Tan Tan Ramen was very good, pork is super tasty, and just the right amount of heat to the bouillon, shrimp fried rice is very good, the mochiko chicken is a little greasy, but still very good..and it may be this way traditionally- it was the first time I tried it. This was a good ramen place that serves a downright embarrassing amount of food for the price. The kids bowl is enough for adults, and the normal size is insanely big. The flavors are good, though the meat was a bit tough. I'd definitely recommend trying some of the bigger flavors, like the curry ramen. read more

Really inexpensive, great ramen and great server! I had spicy seafood ramen(which was hhhhhhuge) and mini fried rice. Both dishes were on point. The ramen broth was deep and rich. I couldn't believe there sooooo many seafood in there. The mini fried rice was smokey and delicious. I guess it was a happy hour, so they gave me 4pcs gyoza. Even free gyoza was juicy!!! Ramen-Ya was okay. It wasn't authentic or innovative, but if comfort food is what you're seeking, this can be a good choice for you. The restaurant was located in a strip mall off of Fort Weaver Road. I believe it was next to a Subway. The menu has a lot of pictures and they offer some real interesting combinations that usually wouldn't be top of my list, but it was definitely unique. The bowls of ramen are huge, so be advise if you're not hungry. I got a combination with Japanese curry and gyoza and a mini bowl of ramen. A mini bowl was quite filling and pretty delicious. It didn't have the range of flavors of the more traditional pork based broth and the shoyu really felt like it was broth and soy sauce. I've never been the biggest fan of Japanese curry, but this wasn't that bad. The only issue I had was with the rice. It was a little too wet for my taste. It had the consistency of sushi rice and not traditional day old rice. That's my personal preference. The small portion gyoza had good flavors, but the skin lacked texture. I didn't not try the larger ones, so it might just be a cooking method choice or error. The service was quick, but they managed the miss an entire order from our party so that needs to be fixed. I don't know how that could have and would have happened. Otherwise, like my log line...this place offers good comfort food that will soothe your craving, but it won't blow you away if you're looking for something unique. read more

I usually love this place and the food is always good. But today I was almost done with my mochiko chicken and I saw a long grey hair intertwined in the crispy batter. I let the server know and she said sorry, do you you want me to cook you one more piece. I said no thank you its ok. I work in the restaurant business and I know people always put things on their plate and complain to get a discount. But this wasnt the case. Because you could Cleary see the hair was cooked within the chicken batter. I Really wished she would have offered me a discount. Or at least a manager could have come out to apologize.... Ate here the other day with my son and it didn't really live up to my expectations. I had eaten at the one in Pearl City across from Walmart and I had liked the food there. But for whatever reason, the same exact noodles I had here want quite the same. Something was missing cause it lacked some flavor. The food is consistently good and generous in portions, but I have never been satisfied with the customer service. Today I dined in. I didn't realize I sat at an un-wiped table, and although I usually don't mind, it bothered me that the waitress didn't offer to wipe it down for me after approaching the table while I was doing it myself. She wasn't the most approachable person during my time there, but luckily the other waitress was a lot friendlier. I went to Ramen-ya in Ewa Beach as I just wanted comfort food and had been to the Pearl City site and found the dishes to be good. I just moved to Ewa Beach in January from Kaneohe and have been trying different eateries. I ordered the miso ramen, noodles half cooked and two PIECES of shrimp tempura. My husband went to pick up the order and commented that the bill was kind of big-over twenty dollars. When I opened the bag, I found two orders of tempura with four in each. No way was I going to eat eight pieces! I like to dip the tempura in the soup. The top of my ramen was capped with so many bean sprouts that I could pick it up with my hand without getting burned. I threw them away-not a fan of bean sprouts. The soup tasted of bean sprouts, so you can imagine the amount of sprouts in there to OVERCOME miso. I THREW EVERYTHING AWAY. Never going back again. The people may be nice and service may be, also, but such an epic failure on this simple order. I really appreciate Naniwaya in Ala Moana now. Miso ramen with great soup and garnishes. Went there after hearing it was an nice little place to eat. Ordered the seafood with noodles & that was okay except the thin dry crispy noodles were extra thin, thought the noodles would expand with the soup like other places we ate at. I just eat the seafood mixture that was much better by itself, than eating it with the really extra thin dry crispy noodles . Next time will order without the extra thin dry crispy noodles. But this is just my opinion & just mine. Sure others like to eat seafood mixture with the dry crispy noodles. Husband did not care to much for the tan tan. read more

This place has is the bomb! I've been to most of them but this one is close to work. You can do some grocery shopping at foodland pick up medication at longs he Crack seed at Ewa Crack seed shop around the corner. Having to eat at other locations makes it easier and faster to order. The service is great. They clean up the tables quickly after a party has left and get it ready for the next customer. The DO NOT RUSH YOU nor bother you frequently though they do their call backs in a timely matter. The price is within reasonable and better than Dai_ _ _ which is at the next shopping center. You can get a ramein and a mini mochiko chicken for under $12 at Dai_ _ _ that's just the ramein. If you haven't been to a ramein ya yet you need to go to one! May go again tonight.! read more

However the ramen is quite bland, the broth has no flavor, I found myself adding side condiments to it to give flavor. I got the chicken katsu ramen. The chicken was good but lacked depth and there were way too many bean spouts. The noodle were cooked well, however, were also bland much like the rest of the ramen. Not an enjoyable lunch experience. It started when we walked in. We were directed to a table and a family behind us was also directed to a table. I don't know if it's because I asked for a high chair or not but the other family was serviced first. It was a good 10 min after their order was taken that someone came to take our order. After we ordered the waitress informed us that our meals came with free gyoza. I'm not a fan but what the heck it was free. Our food came out rather quickly but it didn't taste very good. The noodles were yellow and pasty, the broth was bland, it was missing the char siu and it was more than half bean sprouts. Not appetizing at all. The fried rice & chicken katsu were decent but nothing special. And the free gyoza was also bland and full of cabbage. When my bill arrived the waitress noticed my 20% off coupon on the table. Finding this 20% off coupon in the Midweek was the only reason we decided to come here and give it a try. Turns out because I was given free gyoza I was unable to use my coupon!!! Apparently we arrived during their "happy hour" and free gyoza, whether wanted our not, trumps any other deal you may have. Needless to say we will not be returning. read more

I have been to this location twice. The first time I have visited and ordered what I wanted. It was ok but not what I have expected. The second time around I called in 2 hours in advance that way I don't have to wait around. As soon as I got there today to pick up my order that I called in 2 hours before. They were all sitting around and thinking my ordered should have been almost ready or ready by then. NO!!!!! They forgot to make it because I told them what I have ordered and no one wrote it down.
