I originally went to Superior to pick up a few things for a weekend dinner. While shopping, I noticed Ramirez Bakery and told myself I'd stop in afterward because I was craving a cortadillo. I'm so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, everyone was very welcoming. I ordered a cortadillo and a cuerno, and honestly, it was one of the best cortadillos I've ever had. It was incredibly moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet. I've had cortadillos from other bakeries that were a bit dry, but this one was perfect. One thing to note is that it's not your typical panadería where you grab your own pan. Everything is displayed behind glass, and when you're ready, someone behind the counter assists you. Tried the pan dulce here and it's amazing. I ordered over 100 pieces for a work event and everyone really liked them. The conchas are nice and soft and the topping is tasty and not too sweet. My favorite are the elotes and cuernitos. They are fresh and at a good price. Mini conchas, mini piggy cookie, small cookies are all 2/1.00 Service is also good. In the area and looked for a panadería on yelp. This spot came up and it's so goood. Bread is fresh soft, they offer a good variety. Pricing from 75 cents to $2 a piece depending on bread. Customer service could be better, times I've visited they don't have but maybe 2 customers and they seem to rush you when selecting your bread. read more

I got confused because the sign now says Ramirez Bakery. But it seems the same as the outside pictures look the same but with a different sign. This place is cash only. They had a wide selection of sweets, some full size & a good selection of mini. The cookie I had was good and fresh. Prices seem reasonable. I'm really not too sure of prices. Of course my little one wanted a concha cake for his birthday. So while I was at Jimenez one day, I figured I would ask, not thinking they made large sized conchas. To my pleasant surprise, the young lady said "yes, we do!" She was so patient and kind while helping me place the order. The custom order, cake sized, 12x12 concha was just as soft and flavorful as the conchitas, and most importantly, just as delicious. I can't tell you the number of times I've called this place and they have run out of tamales. Even though I got here late in the afternoon, I was able to get a chicken tamale. It was small, tasty with little bit of heat. The massa was sorta moist but not super moist. Champurrado is so good! Make sure to call them first to make sure they still have some available. They tend to run out by 8 or 9 am. When we got there, we got bottom of the barrel. It was my first time trying it. It reminds me a little of the Filipino champorado but drinkable version with cinnamon. Or in other words... hot chocolate version of horchata. Also tried their chicken tamale in green sauce. One of the best so far. It has a hint of spice, but not overwhelming. Great meat and masa proportion. Breads were suppose to he hard and dry. Not here. This means I've been going to the wrong places. I got a jalapeno and cheese roll -small and a round brownish bread with a beige top crust sprinkled with sugar With some hot coffee tea or cocoa - yessssss! Unfortunately, me, my hips and my "waistline" will be back. This spot is tucked away in a shopping center anchored by a Pollo Loco in front so it can be tricky to find if you don't know the area. I get the mini conchas (conchita) since they are 3 for $1, and when you get them fresh, they are muy bueno! I often bring them as treats for my class, and my hungry students love them! I always stop by the day before to tell them how many I want, and they have them ready for me in a box the next day, so it's a quick pick up and go. I once got their flan, and OMG, it was rich, creamy, and divine! I also love their banana nut vanilla nut muffins.
