Delicious assortment of conchitas, cookies and empanadas ($30)

Ramirez bakery (formerly Jimenez bakery) is my go to for the perfect conchas! I frequent this bakery often to pick up morning treats for the office. Gives me a chance to practice my Spanish too with the always friendly staff! It's frequently steady with customers when I visit in the 6am hour but rarely a long wait. Keep up the good work team!

In the area and looked for a panadería on yelp. This spot came up and it's so goood. Bread is fresh soft, they offer a good variety. Pricing from 75 cents to $2 a piece depending on bread. Customer service could be better, times I've visited they don't have but maybe 2 customers and they seem to rush you when selecting your bread.

Of course my little one wanted a concha cake for his birthday. So while I was at Jimenez one day, I figured I would ask, not thinking they made large sized conchas. To my pleasant surprise, the young lady said "yes, we do!" She was so patient and kind while helping me place the order. The custom order, cake sized, 12x12 concha was just as soft and flavorful as the conchitas, and most importantly, just as delicious. They let you order it in any color...so lime green (my sons favorite color) it was!

Very basic in terms of operations, but very affordable and delicious. Picked up a jugo de naranja (fresh juice with orange and pineapple I think), two conchas (conch shell shaped sweetbreads) and two fruit empanadas (triangle shaped pastry with fruit inside). The kids loved it, and they grew up with their grandmas excellent baking! Very pleasant service. Please enjoy and support small businesses!

Love these mom and pops bakeries. Woman behind the counter was sweet and helpful. Endless variety of pan dulce. It's 4 pm, concha and conchitas are fresh and pillowy soft. Scrumptious!! Looking forward to trying other items. Bakery opens at 5:30 for the early risers. Plastic and mobile pay apps are useless here. Cash money gets you the goodies. Support small business and get you some.

Mini conchitas, iced shortbread cookie, mini bolillo w/cream cheese & mini cream cheese and cherry shortbread turnover. ALL DELICIOUS!!!

I was in Lomita and was looking for a place to grab coffee and pastries. While browsing Yelp, I was…read moresurprised to find out there was a Cream Pan nearby. I've always wanted to try their Orange County location but just never got around to it, so I was excited to finally give them a try. I walked in expecting it to be self-serve like 85 Degrees Bakery, but it's actually set up more like a donut shop or Porto's, where most of the pastries are displayed in a case and you tell the staff what you'd like. They do have a refrigerated self-serve section with sandwiches and onigiri, as well as a table with loaves of bread and buns. The ordering process caught me off guard because I usually like taking my time looking through all the pastries at bakeries. Since everything was behind the counter, I felt a little rushed with people waiting behind me. They have so many options that it can be a bit overwhelming. I also had to stop myself from ordering too much since I'm trying to cut back on carbs. Here's what I ordered: Hot Dog Bun - 4/5: Tasty with a soft, fluffy bun. I just wish it had a little more of that cheesy crust on top. Ham and Cheese Croissant - 3/5: My boyfriend ordered this and thought it was just okay. It was a little small for the price. Strawberry Cream Croissant - 5/5: They're known for this, and now I understand why. The pastry was light and flaky, the strawberries were sweet, and the custard was rich without being overly sweet. Spam Roll Onigiri - 4/5: I loved the egg, and it was really flavorful. It was served a bit cold, though. I think it would taste even better if it were kept under a heat lamp. Raisin Bun - 5/5: So soft and fluffy, with just the right amount of raisins. It was also a great value--six buns for only $4.20. Hot Vanilla Latte - 4/5: Strong with just a light sweetness. It was really good, but I think it could have been a little creamier. The prices were reasonable. I spent about $26 for everything, which I thought was a great deal. Customer service was excellent. Even though there was a line behind me, the staff never made me feel rushed while I decided what I wanted. The barista was especially friendly and even checked in afterward to ask if I liked my latte. If I'm ever back in the area, I would definitely come again.

I consider myself a bit of a "Sourdough Snob" and I had heard about Colossus a while back but didn't know that there was one (or are there 2?) in San Pedro. I went on a sourdough quest in San Francisco a few months back and I think I found the absolute best sourdough in that city. And Colossus's version, the Country Levain, is right up there! Great crust and chew and flavor is awesome. We got a medium Country Levain and a medium Levain with Cumin and Olives....that cumin and olives....wow, so freaking good and unique. Loaves were about $10-$14 and service was great and super friendly. We didn't try anything else but the sweet treats and coffees looked good. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The Country Loaf is their basic bread, very moist, great for anything, even eating it plain. Here lies the first Pecan Sticky Bun that I can call exceptional since Joanne Chang's from Flour in Boston. Then there's a Vegan Pumpkin Chocolate Cookie and a classic chocolate chip, both amazing. This was me and my friends 2nd time to the Summer Nights and last year we really really enjoyed it…read more Everything was delicious and we couldn't wait to go back. This time (yesterday), however, was not nearly the same experience. First of all, I realized we couldn't book a table for 8 people, so me and my friends book 2 tables for 8.30PM. I called asking if it's possible to put our tables together close or side by side, they said they will try their best. We all showed up at 8.30 and waited until around 9-9.15 because they only had 1 table ready. Ok. Come the time the other table opened and it's not even that close to each other. But it's okay, I respect the limitations on this part. No one came to us to take our order or even give us water until way later, and we got our drinks at 9.45. Another critique is that my friend called and ask how much corkage fee and they said $25. It turned out to be $40. Another disappointment, but it's ok. Not much can be done bout that part. Next thing is the food. We enjoyed the fried green beans. Crudo was really really salty, and it's not only 1 person thought that. We wondered if the kitchen mistakenly salted the fish twice. We enjoyed the peach salad. We ordered a few different pasta and the tagliatelle in particular was disappointing. It really lacked flavor that we had to mix the other pasta dish sauce to it. The pork plate was good, a bit small but we enjoyed it. Now the mussles and frites were disappointing too. The sauce just didn't do it for me (other friends agreed). I always talked really highly about Nonna Mercato (I also enjoyed the brunch so much) and always told people that this is one of my most favorite restaurants in Long Beach, but this one really missed the mark for me and my friends. I don't know if this would make us want to go to Summer Nights again next time. For $130 per person (after tax, tip, and corkage fees), I definitely hoped for a much better experience.
