I live in El Cajon and drive all the way here for the sushi!!! It is soooo good! We have been here over 10 times now and the fish is always fresh! The owner and staff are professional and friendly. We have never had a bad experience here! Only great things to say about Vibes Sushi!! It always satisfies our sushi cravings and keeps us wanting to try more and more rolls. Their menu has many options and the service is quick! So, so glad we found this place Some of our favorite rolls are the Ramona roll Philly roll California roll Tuna roll Sexy roll Habibi roll Tuna lime roll We like to order a lot when we're here since it's our favorite place to eat!

    Chirashi on steamed rice

I was passing through and saw the sushi sign. Decided to stop by and tried the chirashi. Service was hit or miss, but improved toward the end. Surprising since they weren't very busy. The chirashi was ok. Rice was regular steamed rice, served hot, when typically it's served with cooler sushi seasoned rice. There were two generous slices of hamachi which were very good. Other kinds of fish were smaller servings and tasted fresh, but there was nothing to make it interesting beyond pickled ginger. I enjoyed it, it wasn't bad, but was not a strong example of chirashi. Would have tasted better with sushi rice, and putting sashimi over hot rice is not great for food safety.

Visited 2/10/2024 2/10/2024 Wow Dinner last night at Vibes in Ramona was such a surprise. I haven't been there since it changed hands a number of years ago. The place was nicely decorated, very clean and has a nice menu selection. I, as usual over ordered because everything on the menu looked so yummy I couldn't resist. I Started with The Coconut Shrimp . It was very well prepared and the coating was perfect. Next I had The Gyoza. Great flavored filling but could have been browned up a bit more on the grill. I couldn't come to a Sushi Bar and not have a Sushi Roll. I chose The Shrimp & Crab Crunchy Roll. It was very Tasty. I definitely enjoyed it and am looking forward to trying more on my next visit. Finally I ordered The Shrimp Yakisoba. What a delicious Shrimp Noodle Dish. Loaded with 7 Nice Large Perfectly Cooked Shrimp mixed with Japanese Style Stir Fried Noodles, Green Onions, Cabbage, and Pink Ginger. I loved This One. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices were what you would expect from a place serving good food in a small town like Ramona. I'm only sorry I waited so long to give this place another try. I will Return

Onion soup: kind weird, but my g/f liked it.

Located in a nondescript convenience mall, Vibes is pretty good, but not yet "great". The menu is big on rolls and there are also quite a few nigiri options, along with a couple of sashimi choices, along with options for kids and even a burger. It's actually a really big menu, but lacks combination dinners for dinner, which would've been nice. We started with the "GTS" edamame (with the teriyaki sauce on the side, wtf???) and they were OK. The onion soup had an interesting taste, and was an odd item; first time I'd seen this on a Japanese menu. It was also huge. After that we had the Perla roll, which was just OK; the description was better than the actual roll. We finished up with the "333" sashimi, which was outstanding, far and away the best part of our meal, it was excellent. They comped us another roll (apparently a Tuesday) special, and it was OK as well. It had katsuoboshi flakes sprinkled on top which was a nice touch, but otherwise ordinary. They have a large selection of adult beverages, but the wine choices are limited and pretty poor. We asked for a bottle of Chardonnay and instead were given two large glasses of wine that was obviously corked and just awful; it looked like apple cider, to be honest. I brought this to our server's attention and he replaced this stuff with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio that were better, so that was good. The service is very friendly but distracted and slow, and the food took a long time to get it to our table, too. I got to talking to our server and found out the owners are from Iraq(!) and they've been open two years. They're super-friendly and I hope they'll be successful, but they need to pay attention to a few key issues. The room has a nice vibe and I noticed quite a few families having dinner. They also have a small sushi/beverage bar area. Apparently Vibes is the only sushi place in town so if they improve somewhat they'll have a lock on the business. I wish 'em luck...

My first time going here and my sister took me to lunch. We were greatly right aways friendly staff. Made you feel welcome. We had the bento box I had the Beef Teriyaki it was very good. Yes I recommend this place . I been back thank you for your service.

Tonkatsu...it's like ramen you buy in the packages from the grocery store with the chicken flavor packets.

Ordered dinner tonight to take home for an at home date night and the food could be better. All the food tastes prepackaged/fake or heavily fried and you can taste the oil. Very disappointing. The sushi rolls were all made with dry rice and my veggie rolls were packaged with the fish so it tasted like it....we probably won't be back.

This place is definitely worth trying! The rolls may appear small but they do pack a mighty punch! I shared 3 rolls between 2 people (myself and one other person) & we were both really satisfied! The presentation is great! The sushi is decent. The service also is fine. The prices are a bit high for the quality of fish. I would say this place is a 4 star restaurant. Doesn't mean anything is wrong- just what you are getting. It's the closest sushi spot in Ramona & styles like a hole in the wall & definitely gets the sushi craving satisfied! They have other options for those who don't eat fish & kid options!!

Horrible service here. They were to busy making social media content than having good customer service.

Out of everything, my favorite is the ability for this place to stay consistent and that all food is tasty and flavorful while having a huge menu. I really enjoy the spicy mayo here. The servers are always so nice and paying is through their toast little handheld device. Parking spots are plentiful, but a little small in size. This place is god for big parties and I love coming here when there is a game because the multiple tvs are typically basketball/baseball/football. I highly recommend coming here!

The staff are very friendly and greet you immediately, except for the sushi chef, who is very stern and does not engage. We came at opening, and the place was empty, for a Saturday, I found that strange. We were told to choose any seat we wanted. Service was quick and very attentive. The menu has a little of everything, but it definitely caters more to the American palate than the Japanese. We ordered Spicy Cucumbers and Shishito Peppers as starters. Both were good. They actually tasted really good when you ate them together. For our mains, we ordered Unagi sashimi style, the honey roll, and the Roka roll. To be brutally honest, I rate sushi restaurants based on their Unagi. For me, it has to be cut very traditionally and served the same. This Unagi did not meet my standards, and yet, it was very tasty and fresh. It was a good surprise. The Honey Roll was very fresh and tasty, except for the lemon on top. The pith was not removed, and it gave it a bitter aftertaste. When we removed the lemon, it was very good. I did not like the Roka Roll, but my daughter really enjoyed it. It was missing something, in my opinion. The portions are generous, so you can fill up with just a few selections. This was just not to my palate. We asked for hot tea, and they brought us a coffee mug with a tea bag and hot water. As I said, more American than Japanese in style. The worst part for me was the ladies' room. I doubt they can do much about this, but there is such a strong sewer smell in there that it is overpowering and really hard to use the bathroom.

A friend who lives nearby had been raving about it, so we finally went, and I'm glad we did. Two Japanese sushi chefs behind the counter--always a reassuring sign--set the tone right away. It was Sunday night and we were driving back to Escondido from Anaheim. GPS says they close at 9:30 PM. We roll in at exactly 9:05 PM. Place still had customers inside, open tables, and two hostesses literally started walking us to a table. The male host said, "Last call is in 10 minutes." Cool. I jokingly ask, "For alcohol?" because I wanted TWO damn sushi rolls, not a 12-course feast. He says with a smile, "No. Last call for food and everything else." Okay... easy day. We already knew exactly what we wanted. Simple order. In and out. No biggy. Then came the look. You know the look. The "damn it, I want to go home, why did customers show up during business hours?" look from management and the sushi chefs. Next thing you know, manager says we cannot be served. Wait... what happened to "last call in 10 minutes?" Suddenly now it is, "You missed last call at 9:00 PM." It was 9:06 PM. So your establishment closes at 9:30 PM... but actually closes at 9:00 PM... but also has a last call in 10 minutes... but also refuses service? Got it. Crystal clear. Listen, if y'all want to leave at 9:00, then change the damn hours to 9:00. Do not advertise 9:30 and have people driving 70 miles just to get hit with attitude and false hope. So we walked out and went somewhere else. Being turned away wasn't the problem. The problem was being treated like customers showing up during YOUR posted business hours was somehow our fault. Change your damn hours to 9:00 pm then. Do better!
