Had dessert here because we were craving churros. We actually ordered a trio of dessert. We got the Ramon-IE which is a fresh baked brownie and came out freshly baked, Churros Y Chocolate (w/ warm chocolate sauce!) and Helado ( brown sugar ice cream!). All three hit the spot! We sat in the hallway to the back parking lot. It was a quieter area were people can do some reading or study. Our service worker was kind enough to take our order to us. This was our first time in Downtown Glendora. Definitely won't be the last. Next time, we will try more items in their menu. read more

A new gem with good Mexican food and an amazing happy hour that Glendora desperately needed! My husband and I are foodies and if you live in the Glendora area and are a foodie yourself then you know there's not many amazing go-to spots that don't require you to leave the city! Sometimes you get a nice establishment but overpriced mid food or you get amazing food but in a run down establishment. This place is right in the middle - great food & a good ambiance. This place is smaller establishment located in DT Glendora with indoor/outdoor seating. They have an amazing happy hour every day from 2pm-6pm (I believe they're closed on Mondays) and have extremely generous prices for the economy we're in. Starting at $4! When we arrived a little before 6pm on a Saturday, it wasn't as busy as we thought it would be. Instantly, we were greeted and seated and opted for outdoor seating since it was a nice day. We were given chips and salsa right away & the salsa was pretty great for it being free! We ordered two orders each of their happy hour tacos - which were chicken tinga & carne asada. Great flavor! Two tacos were $4 during HH which is a great price so we spent $16 for 8 tacos. We also ordered their happy hour nachos which was a generous portion and some guacamole accompanied by a mango wine margarita and a beer. All of which was very tasty, however we would of skipped on the side of guac since we ordered the nachos which included guac! Considering there wasn't many people when we got there - from the time we arrived, were served our food, ate/drank everything was literally less than an hour. I truly didn't know what to expect from Ramon's but I was impressed by the presentation, prices, and amazing service from our attentive server Louie! Especially for it being in Glendora! We spent around $35 for food & drinks! So you better go while the place is still newer and before this place starts getting more traffic and they up their prices. We'll definitely be going back again and they do have an extensive regular menu which we plan on eventually trying. So.... if you were ever debating on trying this place, this is your sign to go! read more

I don't post reviews often but when I do it's for restaurants that absolutely deserve all the business. Ramon's food is always consistently good. My favorite time to go is for brunch to get the steak and potatoes. Their steak is seasoned to perfection and is exactly what you'd expect for a Mexican restaurant and beyond. The service and ambiance is unmatched to other local Mexican restaurants. If you've ever been inside Ramon's and used their restrooms, you'd agree with me. They have the nicest and cleanest restrooms I've ever been in at a restaurant. I have nothing bad to say about Roman's Tacos Y Tapas. It's truly a beautiful experience to go and especially on a Sunday morning watching Glendorans pass by while chowing down on Ramon's perfectly salty/crispy papás and juicy steak. Ramon's Tacos & Tapas as I have experienced in my most recent visit does tacos very well. I had ordered the Street Taco with asada and it was very simple and very tasty. As a second item I ordered the Tostada Taco and by far this is one of the best things in their taco menu. It has excellent flavor with the sweetness of the corn, the mild texture of the beans, and the vinegar essence of the pickled onion. It all works very well together and all the flavors complement each other nicely. Last item I had was the chips and guacamole. The chips are good with a light salt to them and the guacamole is very much avocado, small onions, and a hint of lime juice. Very standard and very good. The service was very quick. I was quoted to be seated in 15 minutes and had my table in less than 10. The staff was very friendly and very nice. The server was great and had a good knowledge of the food. From order to beverage delivery was super quick. From order to food delivery was less than 10 minutes. The atmosphere is good and just what you would expect sitting aside the sidewalk of downtown Glendora. There was a nice little candle setup on the table and it felt a bit better than average. On a warm evening it might be a bit warm outdoors, but it was totally tolerable. Lastly the price was very much on par with what I would expect. The guacamole was the only item I thought might have been a bit high for the price, but for the tacos it was very average and normal for pricing. All in all I had a great visit. Was super excited to try out this new spot.. but sadly the visit was very disappointing. The hostess was not very welcoming.. kinda rude but I think that was just her personality. Our server was excellent very nice guy and pretty attentive for the most part. The food.. there is NO flavor. Like not even salt. There salsa is bland and not spicy. We asked if they had a spicier salsa and the practically gave us tomato paste... not spicy at all Rice and beans were gross. The garlic butter shrimp just tasted like butter and shrimp ZERO garlic. Tacos were okay. But seriously overpriced for what you get. Restaurant is very nice and clean. And their patio area was nice.. I believe I would recommend this restaurant once they get their menu together regarding the portion sizes and make it a better dining experience. I really don't mean to be so negative but I've been in this business long and I have to understand that on your first day of opening, it needs to be, an awesome experience in which this time it was not. They should also reconsider the chairs. Most people sitting in those chairs don't have a bottom that will fit comfortably. I would suggest them trying the tacos at Maria's Mexican restaurant down the street. It's a full size 6 inch tortilla, that is full of filling, perceived value. Their tortillas are good, but the amount of filling in the tortilla that you get for three dollars is not worth it. read more

Great Saturday brunch experience. Spanish-influenced charcuterie board was unique (as it is Spanish!) and good. Homemade salsa among the best I've had; again, really unique. Heavy silverware (funny stuff that one notices) was classy. Jamica could be better; I don't know if this was a regional twist or if it was just under-sugared. We decided to stop and give this place a try. We frequented the previous eatery that was here before closing down. While looking at the menu, we saw the dishes going out to the tables and easily decided to try it out. To say the least, we were happily impressed not only with the gal who sat us but her friendly smile and suggestions on the menu. We tried the rib-eye tacos and Tacos de pollo. If you're worried about getting shorted on the amount of ingredients these days due to inflation, you won't be disappointed here. The rib-eye, though at first is simple looking is exactly that, simple but the large portion of meat on each taco was plenty and leave the eater with what options they want for fillers. As for the chicken tacos, these things were busting at the seams! A very filling meal with just the two tacos themselves. Great service and of course great food. Fresh and generous portion's. Ramon’s Tacos y Tapas - La familia - Los Nietos de Ramón - Tacos Near Me - Glendora, California

An anticipated addition to downtown Glendora dining options, Ramon's started with a 'soft' opening on Oct 11th and the wife and I gave it a try today, Oct 12th. We were there later in the afternoon, well after the noontime (I assume) rush. Sat outside, service was spotty. Every other table, before and after us received chips & guacamole but not us. When our food was delivered I asked our server if we were supposed to ask for chips and he said he'd bring us some. That never happened. For my wife, she ordered the salad with chicken...either the chicken never made it onto the order or the kitchen missed it, but the salad came without the protein and it took almost 10 minutes to be able to point this out. My "La Ranchera" with asada was basically a fajitas plate (asada, rice, beans, three small corn tortilla's) plus three little tins, each with a dollop of flavor sauces, Guacamole, Pico de Gallo, and some other unnamed sauce. Universally I found all the food, including the chicken when it finally arrived, bland and under-seasoned. The asada had good flavor notes but most likely didn't marinate long enough. The asada, guac, and Pico de Gallo were made without any hint of seasoning and all would have benefited from at least a kiss of salt and any other seasoning. Smushed avocado _is not_ Guacamole! Additionally, my plate was served warm, so the beans and rice were literally cold before I could finish my meal. I will say the corn tortillas were authentic and in themselves very tasty. The salad was served in a classic tortilla bowl, and yet was uninspiring and, like the asada the chicken was, as I said previously, under-seasoned. Summary ======== I still have hopes for Ramon's. I'll head back there in a month or two and see how they evolve. The effort to be sparkling clean, exceptionally fresh and thoughtfully prepared is patently obvious. The taste just isn't there yet and hopefully Ramon's will find a way. read more
