We will have to come inside to eat for me to speak on the ambience, but it looks decent, at the outdoor shopping center. It is next to Cold Stone & Harbor Freight. Cool little hole in the wall. Decided to give Taqueria Poncitlan a try and OMG it was amazing and far better than our previous regular place. I opted for the chorizo, beans, and egg burrito for $10.99 but added avocado, tomatoes, and cheese bringing it to around $14...and still cheaper than the $16+ price at other spots. First time ordering the shrimp cocktail, Coctel de Camaron. It was served in a bowl, which is the first time I've had it served like that in general. I didn't mind that! It was very tasty, the shrimp tasted Fresh and the shrimps were large , so lots of avocado, cilantro. It was served with tostadas. I really liked it and I would definitely order it again. I'm breaking my rule and reviewing after just one visit. I had the ceviche on a tostada. Absolutely delicious! The perfect amount of lemon juice and spiciness. I actually had to remove a couple of jalapeño diced pieces because the dish was right on the edge of being too spicy for me, but definitely not thermonuclear! Some folks might want to add the Tapatio sauce. I rate this dish a ten... small but perfect. My husband chose shrimp tacos and loved them. Sweat broke out on his forehead from the spiciness level, so he was extremely satisfied with his choice as well. This location exemplifies my favorite restaurant choice: a fast-food hole in the wall with a great cook in the kitchen. Actually the eating area is roomy and very clean with 10 tiled tables AND chairs with tiled seats. Bring your own cushion if you want to stay long. Came in and tried a cabeza burrito and 2 tacos de Tripa and fell in love wasn't sure if I was just hungry so I came back the next day and got 5 de tripa and yes I'm in love . Stopped by for brunch after fighting for candy at Smart & Final .. lol ... my fault .. waited until last minute to buy Halloween Candy. Service: A little slow but extremely friendly and helpful. And, they were kind enough to say sorry for the wait. Make sure u ask for everything u need upon ordering : salsas, salt, jalapeños... u get it. They get busy and may take some time to get back to u or may even forget. Food: I ordered Huevos Rancheros.. and they were just okay. I would t order them again. eggs over cooked on top and white runny inside ...and corn tostada was swimming in oil ... u couldn't taste flavors only oil. And that was with a red spicy sauce i had already added. The rice and beans were standard .. ok.... Maybe, i didn't order the right thing.. i saw more people ordering Tortas, Tacos, .. but, the tortillas also looked very oily ..
