I made a beef Wellington and sticky toffee pudding for Valentines Day this year because no menu in the Bay Area had a beef Wellington and sticky toffee pudding on it. Came here to see what I need to improve and to experience this for the first time. My wife loved the crispy skin salmon -- she does not typically choose salmon as a meal! Beef Wellington was cooked perfectly. Purée was smooth, not grainy at all. Pastry was still crispy even underneath the steak. Steak was rested long enough, zero blood was found on the plate. Sticky toffee pudding was super light -- the one I made at home was much more dense. This had a very 'pudding-like' texture which I enjoyed. Super happy this was my surprise birthday dinner destination!! Atmosphere was cozy and romantic, with the most appropriate level of lighting and space between tables. The food? Absolutely incredible. We started with the tuna tartare and a beet salad. I got the 6oz filet medium rare (melted in my mouth!) and he got the scallops (which were cooked perfectly). My wife and I had dinner at Ramsey Kitchen and had a great experience. The service was attentive from the beginning, and the food met the same high standard. Ambiance was also quite nice inside, I wouldn't recommend the outside seating with all the foot traffic. I chose the three-course tasting menu, which included the jumbo crab cake to start, followed by the beef Wellington, and finished with the sticky toffee pudding. Each course was flavorful, and the Ramsey Beef Wellington, which I was trying for the first time, was cooked perfectly and very tender. My wife ordered from the regular menu, selecting the tuna tartare, crispy skin salmon, mac and cheese, and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. She was very satisfied with all her choices, and we both particularly enjoyed the tuna tartare, which stood out as one of the best we've had. The only letdown was the specialty cocktail menu. We each tried a couple of options and were disappointed both times, eventually switching to our usual drinks like an Old Fashioned and Margarita. Ramsay's offers premium food and service at a premium price. The beef wellington is always amazing and cooked to perfection. I had a butternut squash soup that was creamy and richly flavorful, and the meal was finished off by a nice red velvet profiterole. The service as always was above and beyond and our server was very attentive to our needs. Of course, a such food and service doesn't come cheap, so expect a dinner for two with drinks and an appetizer to easily reach a couple hundred dollars or more. First, keep in mind, this is NOT Hell's Kitchen, but close. Came on a Wednesday evening for date night, as we haven't been here yet. After waiting a while at an empty host/hostess station, I had to walk up to a group of servers to see if we could get seated even though the place was pretty empty. Apology accepted and we were seated immediately. Yeah, it's in the Silver Legacy, but once inside you forget that. Nicely appointed interior speaks to it's high end intent. Our server, Mike, was friendly and very attentive. As this is not HK, they do not have the 3 course Beef Wellington (but they do offer a different 3 course from 4:30-5:30?), it's all ala carte. Started off with a perfectly made Manhattan (with a proper cherry!). As we are fairly light eaters, we skipped the apps and went for the mains. Stick with what's best, the Beef Wellington, cooked medium rare, super tender and full of flavor. My wife ordered the Chicken Milanese prepared with Dijon Cream Sauce, Prosciutto, Gruyère Cheese, Arugula, Lemon Vinaigrette. Gordon's version of chicken schnitzel. Not overly battered or sauced, balanced flavor. Also ordered a side of their Mac and Cheese...decent, but nothing to write home about. It's definitely up there price-wise, but you pay for the quality and the experience. Reno certainly has an abundance of high end steakhouses (most in casinos), Ruth's Chris is right around the corner), RK seems to have carved out it's niche for a variety of expertly crafted dishes in an upscale environment. Decided to try the restaurant for my birthday. We got pretty lucky and we're seated at a booth next to the kitchen. I always like watching how the kitchen works. The chefs rocked it and kept a steady flow of food coming out of the kitchen. We didn't order apps and went straight for entrees. I ordered the beef wellington and my wife had the chicken milanese. She said that her dish was delicious and I really enjoyed the wellington. They brought out sticky toffee pudding for my birthday dessert and it was delicious. They seated us right next to a station where servers entered there orders. Litterally right next to it. My husband and I came here to celebrating his birthday on Valentine's Day. Everything we had was delicious as expected. The environment was cool. We were seated at the front where people would pass through the walkway. Personally, I would've liked to be seated inside the restaurant because there was just too many distractions with people walking by. Our server was great though. My husband and I are no strangers to Gordon Ramsey's food because we would always visit his restaurants in Las Vegas. It's finally great that Reno has something reputable. Anyway, we decided to do the prixie menu that came with appetizer, entrees, and dessert. To start with appetizers, I had the crab cake, my husband had the Caesar salad, and we had an extra order of the Parker rolls. I thought the crab was very delicious and made little sandwiches with the Parker rolls. As for entrees, I wanted something different since I always order the beef Wellington so I had the lobster risotto and my husband had the Wellington. The risotto was cooked perfectly, very creamy and the lobster was a great addition. Of course I had to have a bite of the Wellington and it always hits all the time. And last, for dessert, we had his sticky toffee pudding which you can never go wrong with. Honestly, I only enjoy going to GR restaurants because of that dish specifically. That warm and soft cake with the toffee sauce and a scoop of ice cream? It was a perfect way to end the night. Definitely a great place for a special outing. Highly recommended. read more

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience at Ramsay's Kitchen and would absolutely come back. I made reservations a couple of weeks in advance for my birthday since we had been wanting to check this spot out, and it did not disappoint. We arrived a little early and started the evening with cocktails at the bar, which set the tone perfectly. The service throughout the night was excellent, warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Everyone we interacted with seemed very knowledgeable about the menu and its ingredients, which made choosing dishes even more exciting. For appetizers, we could not resist the lamb lollipops. They were perfectly seasoned, tender chops served with a cool lemon yogurt, vibrant mint chutney, and a hint of smoky eggplant. The flavors worked beautifully together, and the sauce was so addictive we wished the dish came with more than just two. The Parker House rolls were another pleasant surprise. Soft, pillowy, and served piping hot in a skillet with butter melting on the side, they were impossible to stop reaching for. We also tried the tuna tartare, which was refreshingly light yet full of flavor and the perfect balance alongside the richness of the other plates. For the entrée, we ordered the Chicken Milanese. It arrived golden and crispy, layered with prosciutto, Gruyère cheese, fresh arugula, and finished with a light lemon vinaigrette. The chicken itself was cooked beautifully, tender inside with the perfect crunch on the outside. While the Dijon cream sauce was not my personal favorite, it did not take away from how satisfying the dish was overall. To go with it, we shared the mac and cheese made with smoked gouda and topped with fresh chives. Creamy, rich, and full of flavor, this side dish was pure comfort food and absolutely delicious. Dessert was the perfect ending to the evening. The sticky toffee pudding was everything you want in a sweet indulgence. A warm date cake topped with cool mascarpone ice cream and drizzled generously with English toffee sauce. The drinks were excellent as well. I ordered the Sierra Siesta and loved every sip. It was refreshing, balanced, and paired so well with the meal. While Ramsay's Kitchen is definitely on the pricier side, the quality of the food, the service, and the overall experience made it absolutely worth it. For the food, I have mixed feelings. The the appetizers, we got crab cakes and a Cesar salad. I am not a huge salad guy, but I have to say the Cesar salad was delicious! The flavor was great and there are big chunks of pancetta in it! It would be difficult for me if I had to chose between the Cesar salad and crab cake. We had the Wellington and some of the scallops for our entrees. The Wellington was fantastic like always, and it is an absolute must have. I was pretty disappointed in the scallops though. The flavor was great, but I was shocked that for a $50 entree there were only 4 of them. If you want to leave hungry this may be the dish for you. For desert we got the sticky toffee pudding. Just sat at the bar for 10 minutes waiting to be served. Both bartenders intentionally ignored me, looked at me multiple times and never gave me the time of day. I literally just walked away from the bar. Isn't this supposed to be a "fancy" restaurant. It is, but with shitty service. I don't think I have never been ignored like this. I gifted my husband for Christmas a dinner reservation at Ramsay's Kitchen since finding out they opened one here in Reno, so we were so excited about trying this place and of course, it did not disappoint. I haven't been to the Silver Legacy in a very long time, so when locating this place , it's right in front of Rum Bullions Island Bar and right next to the Ramsay fish and chips spot. The exterior of the restaurant itself is pretty In my opinion, as you walk a little and see the tables with the view of The Row walkway and the huge bar with all the liquor lining around it. With having a reservation , it was easy and seated right away . We were seated in the two person table right in front of the bar sort of near the entrance and right next to the big Gordon Ramsay display on the wall. We were greeted by the servers assistants requesting for our drinks. They do ask if you want regular water, bottle water, or sparkling water as options but keep in mind if you are getting the sparkling water , it is an additional charge. The waitress that helped my husband and I was very attending and the service was just on point the moment she asked what brought us to the restaurant. When the server assistant came back out with my sparkling water, he poured it for me and was very consistent with refilling it for me when he said it was getting empty. My husband ordered a mocktail and I ordered the One Last Kiss cocktail as our drink drinks. I LOVED the One Last Kiss drink, it was SO yummy. It was the perfect mix with the right amount of alcohol and if you like sake & lychee , this is right up your alley. Highly recommend trying out this drink. For the starters we tried the : Hellfire wings, the brussel sprouts, and the lamb lollipops. The Hellfire wings were really good! The sauce is more buffalo type style but has a good kick to it. With these wings, you really got to make sure when you dip it in the blu cheese sauce that you also get the chunks and then take a bite of the wing. Trust me , it amps up that first bite of the wings. The brussel sprouts were tasty, I never had brussel sprouts with croutons in it, so I was taken by surprise with how much I enjoyed eating the brussel sprouts with the little bits of croutons in it and the glaze was delicious , not too sweet. The lamb lollipops.... Whatever sauce they put on it with the deep fried eggplants, oh my gosh that was delicious. I'm not the biggest fan of lamb due to the taste, but I really liked these with the sauce it had plus it was cooked just right for me to actually want more of it. These only came with two , I know other steakhouses in Reno offer at least four lamb lollipops, so just keep in mind when ordering their lamb lollipops. Now for the main meals: My husband ordered the famous beef Wellington and I ordered the fillet mignon. I ordered my steaks typically medium rare all the time and mine was cooked medium rare but it may be a little too rare for some people's liking as it was pretty rare in the middle . The peppercorn sauce was good with the steak . The plate itself is simple with just broccoli , however I really enjoyed my filet. My husband loved the beef Wellington and I had some of it with the potato puree and it was delicious. My husband ate all of it. To his surprise, he didn't know that they beef Wellington was made with mushroom in it and he typically does not eat or like mushrooms but he loved this dish and could not taste the mushrooms at all. Overall, everything about this experience and restaurant is worth the try and money, especially if you are fans of Gordon Ramsay himself. Which my husband and I are big fans and we're incredibly excited about this for a date night out. The service was great, the food and drinks are tasty, and the restaraunt itself is beautiful. While I've been to Hell's Kitchen a couple times, this was my first time visiting Ramsay's Kitchen last night, and it will not be my last. There's so much going for this place: The ambiance is open, modern and feels like you're at a sophisticated dinner party. Service was spot on, our waitress (Mylenna, I believe) was funny and professional, and the food, for the most part, was amazing. We ordered the Crispy Eggplant ($15.95) which was, hands down, the best eggplant I've ever had...Crispy flash fried bites with a pillowy interior, these reminded me of agadashi tofu, unctuous little umami bombs in a miso glaze. This is a must order for anyone, whether you like eggplant or not, it's a game changer. The Caesar Salad ($16.95) was perfectly dressed, loaded with airy croutons and chewy pancetta and felt garden fresh. (Good sized too!) Loved this dish as well. The wife had the Branzeno ($47.95), a whole fish deboned and butterflied and served with salsa verde, sauce vierge and a charred lemon. The skin was crispy, the meat melted in your mouth and the sauces celebrated the fish rather than hid it. Total home run with this dish. We also split a side of the Brussels Sprouts ($14.95), which were very good, but the lardons were a bit too similar to the pancetta in the Caesar, so the dish, while thoughtfully prepared and well executed, felt a bit redundant. But then came the scallops. This was the first time in a lifetime of eating out that I Ioved a restaurant but hated my dish. It sounded great, Pan Seared Scallops ($49.95) in a yuzu-ponzu chicken demi, butter bean purée and umami chicharron. But what I got were four quarter-dollar sized, one-inch thick overcooked nuggets of bland seafood served in a muddy sauce with what they called umami chicharron, but were in reality just pieces of fried seaweed. Nothing in this dish worked- the plating was unattractive, the food mismatched, the seafood overcooked, the "chicharron" inedible. And when you consider that each scallop was one bite (that's how small they were) and that bite cost $12.50, it was an utter and complete failure of a dish. There's just no way something this bad should be served at a place this good. I didn't finish the dish, I didn't send it back, i said not a word to the staff about how bad this was as the other dishes were just so damn good that I was easily able to move on and enjoy everything else about this amazing place. Hopefully, the staff will take note and either improve or remove this dish, as they're absolutely five-stars and contending for best restaurant in Reno status in all other aspects but one. read more

I am always a bit skeptical of Celebrity Chef restaurants. Sometimes one ends up with an overpriced menu that reflects just an ok dining experience. Overall, I felt it was on the better end of the experience but not sure that it really reached the outstanding experience one should get for the price. We were a group of six celebrating a friend's birthday. I am sorry to say the honoree of the celebration was overall disappointed. The booth was a bit awkward. In hindsight, we should have requested one of the large circular tables that were available. I would say that the service was good, professional, and attentive. Some of us in the party had a more positive response to the food. The Beef Wellington, Fillet Mignon, and Crispy Salmon were all very good. The Crab Cake, Beet Salad, and Chocolate Tart, were disappointing. They weren't terrible, but not worth the price. Would I come back again? Probably. Organic carrots should not look like large carrots that were quartered, and they weren't roasted that well. I had the beef wellington which was cooked perfectly .. came with organic carrots .. once again I had for melon ball size bites of carrots. Someone had the salad and it was good. Salmon and filet also good .. but again, not amazing. And for these prices I want amazing .. guess it's back to Roxy's for me. Now for the ambience. It was very pleasant, however, not our table. We were a party of six .. and they walked us past a perfect table for 6 and took us to a banquette, that had 4 people sitting on the banquette .. two of which were sitting at corners that were very awkard to eat at. Perfect for 4 or 5 people, but not for 6. We should have requested a new table. Said table, however, also had the strangest light setup. The poor waiter had to to duck under the lights to serve wine .. which he didn't come back often enough to do. They were not crowed on a Tuesday night and the service was not bad. The Wagyu tartare may not have been the best serving of raw beef Ive had but definitely the quality of the beef was there. I would order this every time in the future! Their Old Fashioneds were good but the third was definitely better than the first two For mains, I had the Beef Wellington and my wife had the scallops. The scallops were amazing but it was a small sized dish. She doesn't eat much so it was a good if not perfect dish for her The Beef Wellington was exceptional. We celebrated my birthday at Ramsay's Kitchen and it was amazing! Jeremy and Gil took care of us and you couldn't ask for better service. They truly made the night special! The ambiance is very nice, the seating comfortable and the bar area just far enough away to not intrude on your dining experience. We started with the Butternut Squash soup and it was delicious! Perfect for sharing with sweet squash and tangy pancetta pieces. Poured at the table for a beautiful experience. We enjoyed the Prosecco and red wine, both were very good and were portioned well. For our main courses, we had the 8 oz Filet and the Everyday Sunday Roast (Prime Rib). The filet was perfectly cooked and so tender, I didn't need a steak knife. The broccolini was crisp and tasty and the peppercorn dipping sauce was amazing! The prime rib was delicious, seasoned well, juicy and large. The sides were tasty and added to the meal. For dessert, we enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding (picture didn't turn out) and the blueberry cheesecake with a lemon curd side. I'll admit - I'm a DIEHARD Gordon Ramsay fan (I mean, that man taught me to perfect pan-seared scallops) so I was so excited to see that he had quite a few restaurants in Reno without the outlandish waits in Vegas/NY. Ramsay's Kitchen is an interesting concept that is both Michelin approved yet a direct translation of Ramsay's family recipes in a beautiful, upscale new restaurant tucked inside the Silver Legacy casino. Honestly, for the price tag, I had much higher expectations. While the culinary execution was excellent and everything was cooked to TECHNICAL perfection, the flavors just did not mesh well on my palate. I definitely don't recommend any of the cocktails on their menu, and I found a lot of the dishes non-dimensional, overly sweet or savory, and honestly not very impressive. While I was glad I got to try his signature beef Wellington dish, honestly, my favorite dish of the night was the Parker rolls, which is just a simple brioche bread + butter dish. Service was also hit and miss for me- the waiter was very sweet and friendly, but you could definitely tell she was a bit frazzled with other customers being rude/just how busy the restaurant was. Our bottled water got mixed up with house water, and the waiters spilled a bit of one cocktail and didn't wipe it up until we asked. For a Michelin quality restaurant, I expected more attentive and detail-oriented service, but I do understand that it's hard to provide Michelin-quality service at a spot packed like a pub on a football game day. read more

My husband ended up with diarrhea, chills, and a fever 104.3 on New Year's Eve. We had to call the Advice Nurse twice, and I even thought we might need to go to the Emergency Room. Clearly home cooked meal concept does shine through with the upscale feel. Food is good, service is nice and the ambiance is classy.

Went to Ramsay's for a birthday dinner and it is a beautiful restaurant and great for a date night! The restaurant is inside the casino but the sound is moderate and you are still able to have normal conversation. The service was also great I wish I remembered our waiters name because he was great and made good recommendations and very personable. Now the food, I realized after getting the menu that they had only done a soft opening and they didn't have any specials which was disappointing considering there was nothing jumping out at me on the menu. However I did have nice eats. I will start with the Caesar salad which we got to start the night! The Caesar was amazing with some of the best prosciutto I've had I wish the salad had a little more dressing on it but it was still good! Another starter we had was the lamb chops which were great they had nice Mediterranean flavor and were cooked perfectly medium rare. Moving on to our dinner I decided to get the wings and Mac n cheese as I mentioned nothing was jumping out in the entrees and after getting a suggestion decided to go with the wings. They make all their sauces in house so unfortunately they didn't have ranch but the wings were good but not the best I've had. But we're well cooked and sauced. Now the Mac n cheese respecfully they can take that one off the menu it was not good at all and was more like a soup than Mac n cheese I was very disappointed in the Mac n cheese and wouldn't order that again. We were celebrating so they brought out an amazing desert we were full by the time it came but took a few bites and I wish we weren't so full. Overall experience was nice and for the ambiance I would probably go back but wasn't so great that I am waiting on the next time we go. If I could go 3.5 I would because it wasn't a 3 but also wasn't a 4. read more

I think the food was okay. I thought that the best food item available was the sticky toffee. It had a variety of different flavors and textures that did well in complimenting each other. I thought the beef wellington was disappointing. The texture was good, however the flavor of the dish mainly came from the mash and red wine demi-glaze. The beef wellington itself was fairly bland. The Mac and Cheese was made with a delicious cheese. Overall dish presentations were as expected for a fine dining restaurant but nothing exciting. The house created cocktail was great. However, I think our server was disappointing. He served us our appetizer and main courses, however anything extra we would have to ask a different server. Anything such as water refills, more napkins, extra utensils, and our dessert was given by other servers. Our frustrations with our server grew when we noticed that we could visually see him mingling with his other co-workers for 45 minutes. This made boxing our togos and paying for the meal much longer than needed. The ambiance was good, and it felt like a good date spot. I thought that the restaurant itself was okay and overpriced especially when comparing other restaurants within the same price range in tourist areas such as Napa, Yountville, or San Francisco. read more

We dined here on Valentine's Day to celebrate my daughter's birthday- we had an excellent experience! We all had the famous Wellington- delicious! And the sticky toffee to top it off for dessert! We had a huge table/private room-the red carpet was rolled out! Our server was amazing! Thank u for a great time! We will be back! read more

Service was great, hostess and waitstaff very pleasant and accomodating. The restaurant decor and ambiance is nice, although it's open to the casino so you'll get the sounds and smells wafting in depending on where you're seated. We were by the bar so there was some slight casino interference but nothing too bothersome. We ordered the 3 course pre fixe and were promptly served our first course. My caesar salad was big enough to share and it was good; would have personally preferred more dressing, but still liked it. Our main courses took some time to arrive but the filet was perfect and I really liked the peppercorn sauce, it packed some heat which was surprising but not unwelcome. Finished with sticky toffee pudding of course, and the flavor was lovely but the texture of the cake was a bit more crumbly rather than dense as I've previously experienced: still delicious though! From my 11 year old daughter: The food was so delicious. I really recommend the beef wellington, scallops, filet mignon, and lamb chops. The meat was REALLY tender and delicious. The Parker house rolls are excellent- served hot in a skillet to the table with butter on the side-much better than expected, but it is $14. The crab cake is delicious. Has a little sauce underneath, and little side of greens. Haven't had a better one in Reno. The beef Wellington is excellent, with a perfectly cooked crust and a perfect medium rare. And a little tasty brown sauce on the side. The filet is fine. Good peppercorn sauce. It was not served at proper temperature, but I just took it to go and didn't say anything. Sticky toffee dessert is so not worth the hype at all. It just tastes sweet, sugar overpowering any other flavor. Diabetes in a bowl. One bite is all I could do. Great service. Polite & helpful staff. Nice classy restaurant. Small menu. Not for kids. Good wine selection. Overall the restaurant is overpriced, but at least you can say you tried the Gordon Ramsey restaurant! read more

The food and service was great here. The price was definitely on the high side, but you get what you pay for. When we came it was a set menu. We will be coming back on another day when we can order different items and try more dishes. That said I would pay the price and come back again. read more

Our first time here to celebrate a birthday. There were six of us and the table was half bench seats and 2 chairs on the other side and oddly shaped leaving the person at the end sitting at an angle. Obviously, prices are high and would have been worth it had everything been exceptional but most fell short. A few of us ordered the Beef Wellington which was good. It was so dark I didn't realize there was a thin layer of mash potatoes underneath. They would have been good had they been hot. Even the service was lackluster. Upon arrival at the front desk, we were asked if we were celebrating anything to which we replied YES! Our waiter also asked if we were celebrating anything to which we again said YES! You would have thought a plate of anything with a candle would have been in order but the birthday girl got NOTHING. Hey, what do you expect for $300-400 per couple?
