Corned beef hash with over-easy eggs, fruit on the side, and buttery toast.

Great old-school breakfast spot in Moraga that's clearly been part of the community for a long time. We brought our dogs and sat at the outdoor tables, which made for a really nice, relaxed morning. The portions were big, the staff was friendly, and the place has a classic local diner vibe. That said, the price felt a bit steep -- about $55 for a classic breakfast for two and a single coffee. Still a solid meal and a pleasant experience overall.

I personally love this place. This is one of my favorite places ever. We always come here for brunch when we can and I always get orange juice and the "two eggs, bacon and two pancakes" and they serve it with butter on the pancakes and maple syrup. I can even describe how good it is. And this morning we had the best service ever. Felicia (I hope I spelled it right - who said started working there yesterday) was the nicest waitress I've ever met. She made sure we had everything we needed and was super kind and available in case we needed something. I'm really happy I can't even describe it. This place deserves more than 5 stars.

This place does not look like much. Tucked away in a old ranch barn on a side street. However, a bit of a dusty Jewel The place is a bit worn but you'll be sitting outside at a picnic table. Go with the program. The menu is all of the breakfast staples with a specialty in mexican offerings. i have had the Huevos, Omelettes and pancakes. All good The service is fast, brisk and friendly.

"Good Food in a Rustic Setting.." This cafe does not look like much from the outside, because it's an old ranch house--hence the name of the restaurant. I visited on a warm Wednesday afternoon, and there was no waiting. The server was very helpful. I asked her what she recommended and she suggested the carnitas enchiladas, which were a special of the chef. It was a good choice. It's quite a large meal and I could only eat part of it. It comes with the usual rice and beans. I guess I could have done without those. They have a few beers to choose from. I chose the Negra Especial, which was great for a hot day. So overall a good visit. Great food in a old house.

It may look empty and closed from the outside BUT is it full of patrons indoors! Old vintage restaurant but love the mom and pop feel! Fast service and delicious hot food. Perfect for our bike ride stop!

There's plentiful inside seating and a comfortable shaded outdoor patio. There is a full bar that some folks were sitting at. We opted for the outside patio since we had our kids with us and they can be loud. Our server was kind and accommodating. She checked in often, but not in an invasive way. Everything here is farm to table, and tasted fresh. The oysters were delicious and so were the mussels which came with a delightful coconut broth and grilled bread. The kids enjoyed a fried chicken slider with fries. My favorite was the beet salad with goat cheese. It was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. So, of course, I had to grab the ahi tuna bowl. and my oh my, that was delicious!!!!! So many places with tuna, don't serve it with Won Ton chips, but Roses on Adeline got the memo! I love a won ton chip and these were giant and perfect with my fish. The fish came in a lovely sauce. So perfect! Such a great spot! I had a great time chatting it up with Aurora and eating yummy food. I love finding places that are somewhat nearby because it gives me a great excuse to come again.

From the moment I sat down, the warm glow of the dining room, lively energy, and inviting aromas drifting from the kitchen set the tone for an exceptional evening. The cocktails were outstanding. The Ojos Así was beautifully balanced, with bright, refreshing notes layered over deeper, more complex flavors that unfolded with each sip. Its vibrant presentation and fragrant aroma made it as enjoyable to admire as it was to drink. Equally impressive was the Y El Hombre Caimán, a bold and expertly crafted cocktail bursting with character, combining rich flavors and a silky texture while remaining remarkably approachable. Both were the kind of cocktails that make you slow down, savor every sip, and appreciate the artistry behind them. For the main course, the Costilla Negra was the star of the table. Perfectly cooked and incredibly juicy, the short rib featured a beautifully caramelized exterior that gave way to tender, flavorful meat. Each bite delivered a satisfying balance of richness and refinement, while the thoughtfully plated accompaniments added contrasting textures and complementary flavors that elevated the dish even further. What truly elevated the experience was the service. Rhi, tending bar, was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the cocktail program. Her recommendations were spot on and added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening. She is a true master at her craft. Jackie, our server, was equally fantastic--warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel like valued guests throughout the meal. Parche combines exceptional Colombian cuisine, creative cocktails, and hospitality that leaves a lasting impression. Between the vibrant atmosphere, beautifully presented dishes, and memorable flavors, it's the kind of place that reminds you why dining out can be such a joy. I will absolutely be returning. The Plantains: Perfectly executed with that ideal contrast of texture and rich flavor. The Branzino Salad: A total standout. The fish was beautifully prepared, light, and paired wonderfully with the crisp, refreshing greens. The Comunitario Rice: Deeply flavorful, comforting, and perfect for sharing across the table. Celebrating a special occasion with family means you want great food, a lively atmosphere, and seamless hospitality, and Parche delivered on all fronts. Wood Tavern met the criteria for a relatively nice American restaurant in North Oakland. We visited for lunch and wanted to make this special for our mom, so we were perhaps a bit overdressed in business casual, but this is Oakland after all. On an ordinary Thursday, there were multiple groups waiting outside for the restaurant to open at 11:30 AM. That in itself should tell you how popular this place is. My wife and I dined at sister restaurant Southie next door a few years ago and really enjoyed it (I also rated it five stars on Yelp), so I was confident Wood Tavern would not disappoint. I initially booked our reservation using OpenTable to link it to my account and get 100 points. Since the max party size for Wood Tavern on OpenTable is four, I had to call to get it changed to eight. Due to the large party size, the restaurant also required me to give them my credit card info and be subject to a $25 per person no-show fee. Upon arrival, our tables were ready for us in the back corner near the open kitchen. The restaurant is true to its name with a shared bar and dining room space that evoke the feel of a wood tavern. Here's what we had: Wine of the Day * Rosé (100% Zweigelt), Stefan Pratsch, Niederösterreich, Austria, 2024 ($16) "N/A Libations" and other drinks * Cherry Bomb! non-alcoholic cocktail ($13) - Tilden Lacewing, Amarena cherry, lime, ginger beer, tall glass * Shirley Temple ($5) * Diet Coke ($5) * Iced Tea ($4) Soup & Salad * Red & Golden Beet Salad x2 ($16 each, one with fish added for $8) - frisee, castelfranco, pistachios, orange segments, Laura Chenel goat cheese, Cara Cara orange vinaigrette Sandwiches * The Hot Pastrami x2 ($25 each) - Emmentaler cheese, Dijon-horseradish dressing, La Farine baguette Old Reliables * Seafood Stew ($32) - rock cod, Manila clams, PEI mussels, calamari, butter beans, fennel, leeks, chili flakes, garlic toast * Pork Ragu Casarecce ($30) - Castelvetrano olives, Pecorino Romano, Grana Padano, chili flakes, parsley * Tavern Burger with French Fries on Acme Soft Bun with All the Fixins x3 ($25 each, two with cheddar added for $2 each) Everything was excellent. As for what to order, I recommend all of the dishes we got. It really just depends on what you like and/or what you're in the mood for. Everyone loved the food. The beet salad was fresh and flavorful, the pastrami was one of the best I've had anywhere, my mom raved about the seafood stew, my brother-in-law gobbled up all of the casarecce, and the burger was outstanding. Service was polite and speedy. Our server Sophia C was awesome.
