Have come here a few times and have enjoyed every experience. This is a nice restaurant with a beautiful Brazilian marble bar. With the exception of a few happy hours / birthdays, this restaurant has a nice ambience that isn't too loud. It's nice being able to hear each other talk. Drinks: - Cherry Lime Royale: while this is a mocktail, I had them add vodka for a refreshing cocktail - Burger: got this to share - between the burger and fries, it's a shareable meal (if you're not super hungry) - Carrot Cake: flavorful and fun with the sugared orange peels Miscellaneous: - Parking available via small parking lot and street parking - Good for small and large groups (have been here with one other person and have also been here with a group of 6)

Update time....So great place, great drinks, great food. Everything is still relevant from my first review. Bouncing to 5 stars. Not sure why I gave them 4 before. The music selection has improved greatly. Still have a few solid Buddy Holly, Stones, Beatles and Dylan etc. tunes here and there, but everything here was pretty much from the 50's, 60's, and maybe the 70's. The newly added more recent tunes are a huge plus. Another huge plus: No seed oils used. This needs to be mentioned again.....No seed oils. For all'z you doubters, investigate how seed oils are killing you. Another plus is back in the day during 'the vid' years they really didn't go along with Greasy's nonsense. Kudos to Ben, Sawyer, Ana and of course Alex behind the bar.

An overdue review. We have been going to Park St. Tavern for years. This spot is a staple among downtown Alameda local businesses. Family-owned by brothers Alex and Christos, Park St. Tavern is a warm and inviting neighborhood spot where you will find great food and drinks, and excellent service that makes you feel at home. The menu is Greek/Mediterranean. We often get the mediterranean dip trio and the spanakopita. From the mains, I really like the angel hair pasta with shrimp. The lemony sauce it comes in is amazing. They are also a seed-oil free kitchen! Major applause for that. Seed oils are poison y'all, and unfortunately still widely used in restaurant kitchens. They have a solid happy hour menu with a good selection of discounted eats and drinks. The bar was recently redone, and is now a beautiful, bright marble bar top. During the remodel, the downstairs space was closed, and the upstairs open. The upstairs area would be great to rent out for a private party. And now, the best for last. The folks who work here are wonderful, and will make you feel comfortable and welcome. Huge shout out to Alex, Ben, Ana, Sawyer, and all the other folks who are the backbone of this place. Visit and support this Alameda gem.

I enjoyed my meal and appreciate the consistency of this restaurant with quality of food. The noise level was difficult to make my meal as enjoyable as it could have been. While the restaurant wasn't too busy, they still sat people in very close clusters which made it hard to have conversation. Plus the servers cell phone rang while we were ordering and while he ignored it, it would have been better for him to answer as it was so loud.

The food was really good but there's not much parking and it's expensive. The bar downstairs is very lively. The drinks were nice and strong! We had a private room upstairs that was very nice for events. I enjoyed the lemon tart dessert very much. The mango cake was too cold not good. The short ribs and salmon were good. It's a good space for events.

How does this place not have a Michelin star? I have never been disappointed in a meal here, and I've frequently been amazed. Most recent meal was the Peach and feta salad and the pancetta wrapped prawns. Perfect summer meal. Chris, Alex, Ben and the crew are the best.

We came for their pre fixe menu for restaurant week. Great welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff-our waitress, Ana and our server, Blake were great! We ordered the beet salad and Caesar salad, the beef braciole (with tomato orzo) and sea scallops (with pesto risotto), as well as the chocolate temptation cake and pistachio ricotta cake. Ample portions and tasty dishes. The complimentary bread and butter were also delicious! We came on a Sunday evening around 530 and most of the restaurant was full.

It was my first time dining here and what I immediately loved about the place is the ambiance- cozy and intimidate yet also open and friendly, so you can have conversations and not worry about being hushed. 5/5 for environment and vibe. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was especially lovely. Although the place wasn't full of patrons, the staff all seemed quite busy and there were several times where we were just sitting at the table and waiting for somewhat extended periods of time. We almost asked for the check after the entree out of concern we'd be out too late. 3.5/5 for service. In terms of the food, my fam gave a 3.5/5 star rating on average. The pastas got a thumbs up (both got positive reviews for flavor and texture), the garlic bread a thumbs down (I didn't have any but was told it "wasn't flavorful enough"), and the pork chop a thumbs middle as it was on the dry side (for a thick cut lean meat, a thicker and tangy/rich/umami sauce might've paired better than the thin jus, which seemed to get lost on the plate and was just kind of salty). The cocktails were decent- more sweet than boozy, and more one-note than complex in flavor (but that may be due to my choice of drinks). And the chocolate cake was extremely rich in chocolate flavor and almost fudge-like in texture; it just needed a bit more time at room temp to make it easier to cut/bite. I think the next time I come, it'll be for the steak or veal, which seems to be their protein specialty. Overall, it's a 3.5/5 but I'll try again to see how things go!

Came here on a weekend to celebrate a birthday and the servers were attentive and the food was served promptly. My partner ordered the gnocchi with squash and mushroom and I ordered the lamb. The portion for the pasta was generous. There were other tables that also had larger groups and seemed to be celebrating. Overall, nice hospitality.

I absolutely love the Park Street Taverns Bacon wrapped shrimp! So damn delicious and they are served on a bed of baby arugula with drizzled lemon beurre blanc. Went here to celebrate a belated birthday and started at the bar and never left to our table. The highly skilled bartenders were so much fun we preferred to eat our dinner at the bar. The Park Street Tavern is a cozy and casual dining option if you're in the mood for yummy Greek or Italian inspired cuisine. Definitely an Alameda gem! They also have plenty of parking in their lot behind the restaurant.

    Ribeye steak RARE

I came here for a special occasion on a rainy Sunday night. Overall, the city of Alameda was very sleepy and most people were staying home in order to stay dry. It was my husband's 35th birthday and he really wanted a yummy steak dinner, but did not want to venture too far. I had this place bookmarked after watching the local PBS show Check Please, Bay Area! We started our meal with two house margaritas which the bartender is very generous with their pour. My husband chose the fried calamari, beet salad, crabcake appetizers to start. The fried calamari I feel could use a little bit of a harder fry as it was more chewy than crunchy. The crabcakes were very flavorful, and after trying them from their namesake of Baltimore, there is no replica. The beet salad was a complete curveball. There were thick cuts of beets on a bed of feta cheese with arugula salad raspberry or strawberry dressing and some other veggies. I'm not the biggest beat lover, and this salad has me wanting to come back! There's something about the feta cheese and the beets that really combine perfectly. For our main dishes, my husband opted for the ribeye steak, cooked rare, yes, that's right, rare. It's not for everyone but for a good steak it is one of the best ways to eat it. It was fire grilled had the perfect sear on the outside and the perfect amount of rare without being raw. I opted for the lamb chops, which was on this delicious mint yogurt sauce with an array of roasted vegetables, such as tomatoes, potatoes, and cauliflower, along with an arugula salad mix. This was my first time trying lamb chops and I have been wanting more ever since. I would absolutely recommend this place for a classic Greek American dinner with the feel of a small local pub/Tavern.

We started with apps, garlic toast with special Marinara, asparagus wrapped in Filo , beets sprinkled with feto. For dinner we shared the entrees family style which was a delight! Buscatini with chicken, eggplant and lamb, stipe bass with white sauce, palella with seafood. Bucatini and sauce was delicious. The chicken that topped it was a bit dry. Eggplant was good! The lamb was a bit gamey tasting. My son thought it was from New Zealand as their lamb taste is more prominent. Stripe bass with white sauce and veggies good! We wanted salmon but it was sold out. Palella was flavorful and enjoyable. Everything on this plate cooked just right! To continue the celebration we ate dessert! Crème brûlée, raspberry sorbet, chocolate crème. Delectable and hit the spot finish :-) Thank you Asena for capping off a beautiful day with tantalizing our tastebuds.

I was in the area looking to grab a bite before heading to Southie to catch the Hawks manhandle the Niners. As usual, the restaurant that I always look to forward to visiting is Hummus Republic. Once I found some parking around the corner, I was happily skipping down the block towards the entrance, until... The place was dark, and no one was inside. I had to do a double take to make sure it wasn't one of the scheduled closed days. Sure enough, it was not. There was also no signage on the window or any mention of a vacation or emergency. It was just... closed. As I looked inside, I noticed some furniture and decor had already been removed, so I knew it was beyond the point of no return. In any event, it is indeed a dark time for me, as I frequented Hummus Republic quite often. Yes, I know it is a chain, but the nearest one that I know of now is all the way in Livermore near the outlets. Honestly, it's not completely a shock though, as this particular location was often empty, and I also heard that rent is quite high. There are also alternative Mediterranean shops in the vicinity, such as Tahina and Q's, but none of them combine the level of freshness, convenience and overall value as Hummus Republic. Although it's a lazy comparison used a zillion times before, just think of Hummus Republic as the Chipotle of Mediterranean fare. Depending on who you get serving you, portions can range from large to absolutely gargantuan. It's no exaggeration when I say that a single bowl serving is pretty much enough for both lunch and dinner. Coming from a pig like yours truly, that is saying a lot! Sadly, this exact address also seems to have a high turnover rate, as I have seen a myriad of various businesses sprout up there in recent years. Hopefully the next tenant will provide something to fill the inevitable void. RIP Hummus Republic! You will be sorely missed! The only thing that improved my mood after witnessing this sad news was watching the Hawks absolutely mollywhop the Niners. :‑D
