The beer I had. A Poter called the Loot Goblin
Tom M.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect after seeing this place online. Would it be a fancy sit-down or a quick service spot? It turns out it's the perfect 'quick and delicious' pizza joint! The vibe is a total throwback, with a 70s/80s school cafeteria aesthetic that actually feels really nostalgic and cool. I grabbed a 'quarter' of their Detroit-style pepperoni for about $10, and it was exactly what I was craving: flavorful, crispy, and served in under 15 minutes. It kind of reminded me of an elevated cafeteria pizza you got as a kid. It's the ultimate spot to recharge if you're out on the town between bars or you need a quick bite before heading home. Great service, cool decor, and definitely a place I'll be visiting again to try their other styles!

House salad with basil Dressing House Salad - VC

Omg this pizza is absolutely amazing. Every time I order pizza from anywhere else there is at least one complaint from one of my kids. The dough is so crispy and full of flavor. The toppings are enough that with every bite you get a mouth full of flavor. They do fundraisers for local businesses. I will get pizza from here moving forward. We got a pepperoni pizza, a Hawaiian pizza and I got the house salad. It's all so good. Get food from here. It's amazing

The new location is pretty convenient and the menu is simple which makes it easy to choose from. I tried the pepperoni and Quarter #4 Quarter Pie. Each were much bigger than I expected and definitely enough for a meal for 1 (maybe more). Both pizzas have a thick, fluffy crust and toppings were on the saltier side. Ranch was creamy is balanced out the savoriness of the pizza. I did not choose the extra crispy option for the pepperoni and it was done fine. Any more crispy would probably hurt to eat. Price is pretty reasonable/cheap for a meal (about $9). I can totally see myself buying a 1/4 pie, taking it home, and sharing it someone with some sides, etc. We took out the food, so no comments on the service for restaurant dining! However, I love the sturdy packaging that helped keep the warmth and freshness of the pizza.

Vegan Whole Pie - VC

Pizza is awesome. We ordered a full pizza with vegan cheese and pineapple and vegan pepperoni. The crust is why you come here. The crust is really focaccia. It is overpriced tho and that's a shame. I will still be back.

Very nice restaurant in downtown Vancouver. Service was great and not a long wait for food to arrive. We ordered the Radicchio Ceasar Salad, delicious! Ordered a nice Stout to go with my pepperoni pizza, a Cheese pizza for granddaughter, a Pepperoni Pickle pizza and an all meat. We ordered by the square, ample amount for one. Overall, everyone's pizza was delicious and plenty.

Three little pigs
Megan H.

I'm NOT a pizza person at all, but Ranch really does it better. We tried several options and they were all delicious. We tried the three little pigs, cheese zombie, hawaiian, and pepperoni. We got quarters of each vs a whole pie since we couldn't decide. All of them were delicious. The cheese zombie was more of a sandwich, it had thick cuts of bacon with cheese & a side of marinara. Their ranch is spectacular - hands down the best I've EVER had from anywhere. I would hands down get a gallon of it if I could. Service was quick. They do share a space with. Coffee shop. Overall parking was decent for a Sunday night.

What a nice surprise! We've been wanting to try this place, but hesitated based on some of the reviews we've read. A friend recommended it so we decided to try it. We walked in and were immediately greeted by a woman behind the counter. She was friendly and helpful. She answered questions, took our order and gave us a number. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. You also bus your own table. I don't mind these sort of establishments, especially for fast food type places. The inside is pretty cool. They have tall large windows in the seating area. There are booths and tables with chairs available for seating. They also have a coffee bar on the opposite end of the room from the pizza counter. The Detroit style pizza was super yummy! Crispy around the edges and airy pockets in the dough made it feel light to eat. We ordered a quarter cheese and a quarter pepperoni. Both were very good. Ingredients were fresh and pizza quarters had the perfect amount of toppings. Their homemade ranch dressing was sooooo good! It had some garlicky deliciousness. My husband and I both commented on how good it was, especially with the pizza. We will definitely be back to try their other menu items and flavors. Highly recommend!

3 little pig!

We really enjoyed this spot! We stopped in this afternoon, it was gorgeous out so we decided to take our convertible for a spin and I have been wanting to try Ranch Pizza! There was hardly anyone there, so we were quick to order and went to sit outside. They have self serve water station and fork/knives and a selection of hot sauce which my husband appreciated! We got the special "3 little pig" which was Bacon, sausage and pepperoni. Comes with 2 sides of their house made ranch. The crust is similar to focaccia bread. Nice and crisp on the bottom and soft interior. Just enough toppings, I love the little cup pepperoni! Pizza was really great. We will definitely return!

French onion pizza
Payton H.

Solid pizza place with affordable prices and fittingly yummy ranch. I loved their French onion pizza, however, their veggie pizza wasn't anything too special in my opinion. I look forward to their one rotating pizza flavor, as I wish their overall menu had more options. I do appreciate how a ranch cup comes with the purchase of a pizza slice so you don't necessarily have to pay for extra(unless you want a lot lol).

Quarter - Honey I Shrunk the Pickle- VC
Robert K.

This pizza place is connected to a coffee shop. Across the street from a different coffee shop and on the opposite corner of the block from a coffee shop and down the street from a coffee shop. Perfect place for a pizza and coffee shop. That aside. It's gooood. You walk in and the interior is both retro with the color scheme of earth tone yellows from the 70s and retro futurism from the 80s nostalgia. The guy behind the counter could not have been nicer. I ordered two different quarters. Not really knowing how big they would be. The Honey I shrunk the Pickle and #4. Both to go. The crust is light and thick. The toppings were excellent. I will say that #4 was much spicier than I would have guessed but it was not unwelcome. The hot honey on the other was less spicy than I would have guessed. The real stand out was the side of ranch. This place is appropriately named. I didn't notice if they sell this by the jug. But it might be the finest ranch dressing I have ever had in my life. The only thing I will say negatively is not a problem if you dine one. Once the pizza had gotten cool, it lost a bit of the magic.

Hawaiian Pizza
Sandra L.

Amazing and exactly what I was craving. Always a delicious pizza at Ranch on 8th. The person at the counter was super nice and greeted us immediately: the atmosphere was quiet on a Wednesday night. We ordered a 1/4 pepperoni and 1/4 Hawaiian. We waited about 10ish minutes, pizza came out perfect and true to brand. The crust looked and tasted extra fluffy in a good way. Love Ranch Pizza. Still 5 stars keep up the good work.

Quarter Veggie - VC
Anna I.

Loved this pizza. It's focaccia crust pizza! Very crispy and tasty. I tried the veggie slice while my friend had the pepperoni. She said the pepperoni meat was spicy. We had a side of the cheese bread, very messy but also very tasty. Service was quick.

Quarter Pepperoni - VC with pineapples
Rosaunda J.

I've been wanting to try their pizza for awhile, so while stuck home working I decided to order delivery. Let me just say my order did not disappoint! Everything was amazing. Whatever dough they use for their pizza is top tier. Crispy on the edges and fluffy in the middle. Chefs kiss!! I got the #4, Pepperoni, and the Radicchio Caesar. The salad tasted fresh and one serving easily fed 2 people.

We came in a bit before 5 when the patio seating was open and got to sit right away. When they are busy, you might wait a bit for food, but the servers are friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu items. We ordered the "something marvelous" (bbq chicken) and a pepperoni pizza (because kids) for our pizza. We also got the beets and burrata salad to start. This was more than enough food and we always take leftovers home. The weather was nice on the patio and you can see the waterfront and river from your seats. We've been here before. We will be back. This was a beautiful day on the…read morewaterfront and there was no wait at 7PM on a Friday night, which we found surprising given how almost every restaurant on the street seemed to be full. We were told it would be a 20 to 25 minute wait for our pizza (I had to ask - the server didn't volunteer this information). It actually took 30. Dini Broccolini ($16) - We ordered this as an app. The dish includes a thick romesco sauce spread along the bottom of the plate. It's served cold and it's quite nutty (walnuts?) and peppery with a strong tangy umami. It's chunky with lots of small pieces blended in. On top of the romesco are three slices of crostini that are much thicker than average. They are completely dried out and crunchy like croutons. They salt the bread a ton; it's salty enough that my mouth felt like it was burning. The only warm thing on the dish is the broccolini, which is baked rather than charred. The texture is great and the seasoning level is perfect. On top of the veggies, they sprinkle pecorino and and breadcrumbs, for additional saltiness, umami, and a bit of crunch. (4/5) Now onto the pizza. Taken from another of my reviews: there are several characteristics that define Detroit-style. Firstly, the base must be a thinner and chewier focaccia dough-like crust, pillowy on the interior and with a crispness on the bottom and sides that are somewhat greasy but not overladen*. There must be flavorful Wisconsin brick cheese (or blend), buttery and fatty, melted on top and spread until it spills over the sides of the crust, creating a crisp caramelized frico ring surrounding the pie. The pepperoni must be underneath the cheese**, and the flavorful tomato sauce, typically in several wide lines, is spread atop the cheese. There must not be too many toppings to prevent the crust from compressing and ruining the texture. *Note 1: The fat/grease is very important, both to allow the crust to crisp up and to act as a hydrophobic layer to prevent sogginess. **Note 2: This is the one trait I dislike since it makes the pepperoni limp and soaked with grease. Dial 'P' for Pepperoni ($26) - As always, I start with the base pepperoni pizza, the most classical Detroit-style pizza. The pizzas here are standard 4-square size (8in x 10in), cut into 6 pieces. Pricing is pretty expensive for this size - I'm used to 8-square (10in x 14in) pricing being around this much. Starting with the base crust - it's pretty good. It's crisp but not overly greasy, thinner and a little collapsed in the area with toppings, but still light and airy without being dense. It's super bubbly from frying in high heat and the crumb, especially towards the sides, looks great. It has a tasty buttery fried flavor. The cheese frico on the sides is underwhelming. While crisp, it's a little collapsed and flattened rather than having lacy, thin, uneven tops as with a great Detroit-style pizza. The bake on the pizza is also uneven, with one side much darker than the other. The darker side unfortunately burns the frico, which gives an unpleasant acridity on one end. On top, they add an appropriate amount of mild mozzarella. It's enough to give a slightly cheesy stretch, but isn't enough to feel overly heavy or rich. They then place pepperoni on top, which cups and crisps up. Again, they don't overload the pizza, so while salty, it's not overwhelmingly so like several other Detroit-style pizzas I've eaten recently. This all makes a pizza that give a really balanced bite. Unfortunately the sauce here is a miss. It's ridiculously tangy and acidic to start with somewhat of a metallic kind of flavor. It then descends into a really heavy overly concentrated flavor of dried Italian herbs. It's incredibly overwhelming, like they wanted to completely cover up the taste of bad quality canned tomatoes* but failed. The dried herbs are followed up with a slight heat that warms the mouth, probably from red pepper flakes mixed in. On each slice of pizza, they place a giant spoonful of sauce, which is unfortunate given that I didn't enjoy the sauce. I think they should revisit their tomato sauce recipe. It's one of the worst Ive had in a while. Luckily, it's not a huge part of the pizza. (3.5/5) Overall the pizzas have some major weaknesses. My review reads very critical, but I think the pizzas are still quite tasty and will satisfy most people. Still, I personally wouldn't return given the better options for Detroit-style pizza across the river. *Note: They use Valoroso canned tomatoes from Stanislaus, which is a company many places in Detroit also use. I doubt the quality of the tomatoes are actually bad. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms

Intentionally set earlier in the day understanding the significance of the day. (Been together over 20 years.) When we arrived my husband kindly requested a window table with view of the water. The woman taking the reservation info advised that she would try, but "so busy" etc. We were sat at a half circular booth that was facing water but set back from water. I just want to note there were 7 tables open at window seating. 3 of which were 2 tops. We did have 3, so essentially for us, 4 EMPTY tables could have accommodated our request. 2 remained empty the entirety of our meal. So I just can't understand why this request wouldn't be granted. Waitress we were assigned was amazing. On top of things, refills etc. We got the wing appetizer, cheese curds, and the wedge salad as appetizers. They were all good. The wings I would get with no sauce. The sauce on them was very ketchup reminiscent. For the entrees we both did the steak frites. Fries were amazing. The steak was sooooo tough. Medium rare didn't save them. Our child got the half pizza and demolished. For dessert we got the cookie with ice cream and the valentines special cheesecake. Both were delicious. Overall 3.5. Could use some help at front. If you don't realize you have that many free tables and could easily accommodate a paying customer the table they prefer, it just simply doesn't make sense. At the end, I did ask manager why we wouldn't be able to sit where we requested and there really was just no good reason. It was just a shrug like it was a busy day. Like I guess maybe saving for make believe guests?? LOL unreal. It's not often I would question things. But this was just absurd. Again, I need to say, our waitress was amazing. Food was fine. Just a very weird experience as far as seating. Like who are you saving those seats for?? Anywho. Enjoy!

Even if accommodations weren't possible, a simple "We'll do our best" would have gone a long way. When we arrived for our reservation, we were immediately asked, "Are you going to eat?" which felt unnecessary and gave the impression that our business wasn't wanted. We were then told that the majority of our group needed to be present before we could be seated, despite having several people ready to sit down, order drinks, and begin spending money while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. That said, I want to recognize our waitress, Morgan, was wonderful. Before she arrived, I spent time with our waiter going through the menu carefully -- no butter, no dairy, confirmed twice. When I asked again, the waiter confirmed they'd been cooked in oil and butter -- after already telling us they were safe. By then the pork chop had been sitting on top of them and was contaminated. His response? "I can bring you another side." No offer to replace the meal. No offer to remove it from the check. Nothing. We had a show to catch at the Magenta Theater and no time to push it, so my girlfriend skipped dinner and grabbed something at Burgerville afterward -- she had a headache by the end of the show. The food and everything else about the evening was genuinely good.
