Favorite pizza spot in Durham since growing up so now every time I come home to see my family, we have to order Randy's at least once!! Always great customer service, can't beat the NY style pizza and the sauce is just right - not too heavy but tasty however not over powering the toppings even with a good ol' plain cheese pizza which is what we ordered tonight! This location is right in the shopping center on MLK with plenty of parking and easy access stop right after going to the grocery store or even the movie theater next door! May not look too fancy on the outside or inside but it's your local pizza place, what matters is the food, speed of readiness and the overall quality experience from the staff!! Check it out, I've never been disappointed and have been going here for 20 plus years!!

There are 6 entries in Yelp for Randy's Pizza. I am writing specifically about location on GUESS ROAD, on the edge of the defunct Northgate Mall. The Northgate store is a lot cleaner and cheerier than the last time I was there in 2021. The sit-down area is newish but still basic and boring. The menu board is electronic which means you have to wait for screens to flip in order to see the whole menu (or ask multiple questions of the cashier). Menu has expanded to include more pasta, salad, and dessert items. Sicilian thick crust is listed right up with the thin NY crust, no longer hidden as a footnote. True to online advertising, this location did serve the largest slices in town (photo). Crust was chewy but did not have that fine crackle that arises when coated generously with olive oil before baking. The sauce and cheese topping was rather bland for my taste, but at least it was low-salt and not excessively greasy. For the price, the slices were good value. Good neighborhood joint for bringing kids or coworkers for a quick bite. [ An employee there told me that 2 Durham locations are not part of the Randy's chain, even though they use the Randy's name (??). In the past, I had noticed a difference in recipes and pricing depending on the location. ]

While visiting my aunt in Durahm/Duke, NC, my aunt brought us to this cute, little, pizza restaurant. She wanted to share one of her favorite pizza spots, that come close enough to remind her of home (NY). She says (It's the closest thing to NY style pizza out here). After devouring a large slice of the cheesy, pepperoni, and sausage, I agree. It comes remarkay close to the famous NY pizza's. All the ingredients including the spices are freshly cut, and never frozen. The freshness of the ingredients really does make a big difference, on how delicious the pizza turns out. I'm saddened that we only bought one, because after we got back to her place, the three of us ate the entire box in about thirty minutes.

First had this on a late night . I'm not sure why I ordered one slice but I was dying for more so much that I went back the next day for two slices ! I love the large thin cheese slices ! So good , so much flavor ! Thank you for being open right now ! We greatly appreciate it !

I'll start positive. Pizza looks good, nice and hot, great presentation. I won't go back though because The pizza was tasteless. Barely any sauce if any. Waaaaay too cheesy. Customer service was horrible.

So glad we ordered our Friday night pizza from Randy's - it was delicious! The sausage they use on the Supreme was a bit spicy, which we liked. We're in the area often for medical visits, so you can count on us being back.

I went to Randy's in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. There was plenty of table space. I ordered 1 slice of cheese pizza and 1 slice of pizza with bacon chicken pineapple. The bill came to slightly over $9 with taxes. The pizza came out fast. They were perfect massive thin crust New York style slices. I couldn't finish both slices. They were absolutely delicious- probably my favorite New York style pizza spot.

Pizza was recommended and good, but delivery took 1-1/2 hours. We'll try again when we're in town... but pick it up.

I really enjoy Detroit style pizza and it's not something you see a lot of around NC so that's nice. They also have a very good Gluten Free option which is nearly the same as the traditional crust - and if you ask they can mock up the cheesy sticks using the GF crust as well. The service is always super friendly at any location I've been to. As I mentioned, it's pretty pricey for pizza but it's also something you can't quite get around here otherwise and it's a nice place to go for something like date night.

Sweet with a little bit of tang and you can definitely taste the seasoning. The crust has the right thickness the right crunch and the right give. The crust could stand to have a little more flavor but overall it was a solid crust. My issue with the food was for $25 on a 8x10 pizza, there should be enough cheese in the mix to cover more than 60% of the pizza. They have a "signature cheese blend" but then 40% of the pizza doesn't get any of it. A bit disappointing. Which gives the value a 2/5 at best. In addition to these two factors I was asked my name for the order when I arrived. The young lady walked off and then I spotted her on her phone in the corner, followed by folding pizza boxes in a different corner. Eventually a gentleman approached with the same question. Wouldn't you know it, my order was sitting right there next to the host stand. Not impressive. The ambiance is a bit pretentious for a place serving pizza which I found to be pretty greasy. The ambiance definitely matches the price so I guess that's what they are going for. The only lot for parking is paid but I suppose that may be the norm for "downtown" Durham. The flavor again was very good, but the value and the competency of the staff are a miss. As a frequent traveler I think I'd explore the other options next time rather than return.

I've been to the Raleigh location as well, check out the review if you want to know more. Panysaurus over all is a cool place (either location) but they have drastically different vibes - which in my book is a good thing. The Durham location brings you an awesome patio scene! The bar itself is a bit small but their indoor/outdoor approach makes it seem huge. The patio is two floors, both covered, one just off the bar and the other right about that which has a few TVs for those interested. Off of the patio is a nice size "beer garden" sitting area complete with picnic tables and a great view. If you are looking for chill family friendly patio vibes this is the place to be! I really love Ponysaurus beer, their pilsner is nice but their kolsch is my favorite. If you've been to the Raleigh location, the Durham menus is not the same. Yes they have pizza but it doesn't seem to have the same options - still good though. We went with a hankering for the hummus we got at the Raleigh location, again the Durham location had hummus but a different variation. One thing that's consistent with both locations is the amount of pita that came with the hummus, there is nothing worse than getting a huge bowl of hummus and only a few pieces of hummus or chips. Both locations knocked it out of the park. Plenty of WARM pita for everyone. This location is somewhat self-service, the bartender obviously poured out beer and there is a cute window for picking up snacks but no table service.
