I had a great time dining experience at RASA. As a vegetarian, I'm always on the lookout for places that can truly satisfy my taste buds, and RASA exceeded all my expectations. I ordered a Tofu vegetarian bowl using a super green base. The flavors are all Indian-centric, so I call this place the Indian CAVA. The combination of fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked grains, and mix sauces created a texture and taste that left me wanting more. I will admit the service was a little slow but I think it was because they were hit with a huge dinner rush so a lot of the stuff was low and had to wait a bit for things like tofu to be refilled. But it was not bad enough to rank this 4 stars. In a world where vegetarian options can sometimes feel limited, RASA stands out as a true gem. The flavors, the ambiance, and the overall experience are second to none. If you're a vegetarian or just looking for an outstanding meal that celebrates the beauty of plant-based cuisine, this place is a must. If you are not picky, you will love this place!! Picky ?? Great! We're friends! And I'll tell you my findings !! The concept is amazing and it's not as easy as Chipotle or Cava because the Indian cuisine is a very rich cuisine to be presented briefly in such a build your own / line style but they did great and filled it up with great options ! However! They were poor on the salads toppings and they can do better and can bring more amazing stuff! Chutneys are amazing but also one or two more different varsities can be added! The meats weren't that fresh when I arrived and I hope it was just because it was towards closing time on a slow Wednesday night! I took the spiced beef and expected it to be more tinder but unfortunately it wasn't however it wasn't bad also and it was flavorful with the spices! It could get better! So for all of that I took one star down! Now! One more star down for not being flexible and it isn't the employee's fault! It's the management / owner mistake! They have a choice of toppings up to 4 toppings! I wanted 4 scoops of the tomato cucumber salad ( I don't remember what they call it) and the employee said " No!" Like a police officer who want to arrest you! I appealed to him, please !! I'm not taking any other toppings !!! And again he said "No!, that's impossible" I was like I must be dreaming and I'm inside Jerry Seinfeld episode which has the guy who kept yelling " NO!! NO SOUP FOR YOU!!" Other than that I really enjoyed it and guess what? I'll go there again! I really loved a lot of the sauces and toppings , the yellow rice , the lentil crisp , the eggplant!! Amazing!! Was a bit disappointed because I walked in to purchase a few mango lassi drinks and was completely ignored. I waited at the register for another customer who was in the middle of getting their bowl made and after they finished paying for their order, the employee just moved onto the next person with a bowl. No acknowledgement of me standing right there in front of the cash register. Was I supposed to get to the back of the line to purchase drinks that were already ready to drink? I saw all of them right there in the cooler right behind the counter so it's not like it's a made to order drink. If at least one person acknowledged if I needed help or asked me to wait after the next customer, I would have waited, but I was ignored and so I just left. read more

Ya girl loves a bowl. After a facial at Lather, I grabbed some grub over at Rasa. It was delicious. I let the worker know I had never been before and he let me try a few of the sauces to make sure I liked them. There were so many options and the flavors were amazing! I ate so quickly that I forgot to take pictures but it was a very colorful bowl. It was also a great portion that left me pleasantly full. I wish there was a location closer to me but I'd drive out for this food anytime! read more

Incredibly disappointed. I was so excited to try an Indian version of Cava/Chipotle. But, the flavors just were not authentic or good. Of course, I know a chain like this cannot taste like real Indian food. But, I just expected more. On paper, the protein choices and overall options sound delicious. However, I found the choices either too bland, salty, or just lacking overall. Per recommendation, I tried their "popular" chicken and got all other toppings which appealed to me and seemed more legitimately Indian. When tasting the food, it tasted like fake Indian food is how I can best word it. The chicken had no flavor in my opinion and seemed dry. I will say though the interior is lovely and their drink options are decent. The Kokum Punch is good along with their Tumeric Ginger Lemonade. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish my bowl as my stomach got upset. I do not see myself coming back again. read more

Came here for the first time with my girl friend from New York after being recommended from a friend that works in Mosaic and we were not disappointed! I got the tikka chance on me and added the garlic...wow. The flavors were amazing! My friend customized her own bowl to her licking and it was also delicious. The service was great. The lady behind the counter let us try some of their chai ice cream (which was delicious). She also let my 3 year old try some of the mango, he loved it! They have outside seating available, it's not a lot of space but because it is in mosaic you do have a lot of seating options around. I loved the interior because of the esthetics. They have regular tables and they have swing chairs if you're going to be a solo eater. 10/10 recommend and will be returning soon since I also work near mosaic :-) read more

There is always plenty of seating, surrounded by a colorful decor. You can even watch as your meal is being prepared. Your check is always easy to understand and accurate. But the most impressive aspect of their customer service is to compensate the guest if their order cannot be processed on the application due to a computer glitch with a discount code. They will help you fulfill your order online. If the glitch makes that impossible, then they will fill your original order nonetheless with the discount. This place is like an Indian Chipotle or Cava, but probably more similar to Cava-vibes. We made our own bowl and it was super filling! They have a variety of choices for meats, sauces, and veggies. My favorite thing was the addition of eggplant, so definitely give that a try. I thought that there was a perfect amount of seasoning and spices. There was also plenty of meat (not dry!!) and I was able to get a piece of meat in every bite. Would definitely return! read more

I've been waiting for someone to do a Chipotle style Indian influenced restaurant and was excited to try RASA when we visited the DC area. I think people get really defensive about Indian restaurants being authentic and what not, but I think it is important to just take a step back and know that this is probably not what they are trying to do here. It is not authentic Indian food, but it is Indian influenced and of course edited to be accessible by many different types of people, especially on the go and for healthier lifestyles, which restaurant Indian food doesn't always cater to. That being said, I really enjoyed these bowls with really tasty saag (spinach), creative sauce options that packed a lot of flavor, lots of protein options and familiar toppings. I enjoyed that I felt full afterward with familiar flavors in my mouth without feeling like I needed to take a nap or heavy cream circling my gut. Fantastical! I'm sitting now at the Mosaic, Fairfax, location, living the view of the green, tempted by the swing seats, happy with the rock music (not too loud!), and stuffed with half of a build my own bowl. The food is wonderful Indian layered herbs and spices, fresh salads, warm shrimp, aromatic rice, healthy seeming, plentiful and a good deal. The staff are accommodating, friendly, and go the mile with patience. They are now on top of my list for fast casual. read more

Glad that they finally opened a Rasa closer to me because getting to the DC and Crystal City locations were a little tough. Also glad because I was missing Choolah and this is a pretty good alternative. We grabbed a Tikka Chance on Me bowl, a create your own bowl, some garlic naans, and two mango lassis. The bowls were solid but had maybe a little too much liquid at the bottom. The garlic naan was nice and warm, soft and also pretty good sized. The mango lassi was standard but good like it usually is. Definitely a great place to grab a quick bowl lunch if you're feeling some fast casual Indian food. read more

The mango lassi was bomb. That is what I'm giving the 5 stars for, good gad is it so hard to find a good lassi. I made my own bowl and it was fairly decent, I personally think the tikka needs to be more thicker as it was super watery. Besides that, I can't complain read more

I had a great experience building my own bowl at RASA. The experience and freshness of the ingredients to choose from, reminded me a lot of Cava but with an Indian twist. Their chicken was flavorful and all the vegetable toppings were fresh. I got their two most popular dressings (forgot the names) and it was delicious. A good alternative if you're looking to get something different from Chipotle or Cava. Their portions were pretty large too especially since you can get unlimited toppings! I have tried Rasa a few times now and enjoyed each of the bowls. I ordered my bowls online and picked them up 15 minutes later. It's a fast casual Indian inspired restaurant with a lots of options for proteins, vegetables, sauces and bases. They also have a good selection of fixed bowls with chicken, beef, lamb, roasted vegetable, tofu, etc. I had the Veggie Bowl, which came with rice, lots of roasted vegetables, chickpeas, veggie sides and sauces. I thought it was very flavorful overall: garlicky, oniony. I really liked the add-on of hot sauce as well. I also had the Chicken tikka bowl which had tasty pickled radish and seasoned spinach. The garlic naan was excellent, very chewy and flavorful. It's very cute inside with plenty of indoor/putdoor seating. A great place to try if in the area for a quick bite. Wow! Found this place while looking for a place to eat dinner while at Mosaic District for something else. I opted to make my own bowl with basmati rice, romaine and super greens. I got chicken for my protein and added eggplant for my veggie with the tomato garlic sauce. I added some cucumbers and cucumbers with tomato and onion and some corn salsa and some cilantro and finished off with a mint cilantro dressing. I took it to go so I didn't get a drink or sit and eat. But the restaurant had a really nice decor and because it was such a warm day the doors were open and the comfy seating area facing out towards the street looked incredibly comfortable. I look forward to going back on a day when I can sit practically outside. They do have outside tables but the more comfortable seating was inside facing outward. I suppose on a cold and rainy day you could sit in those comfortable chairs and look outside. The bowl that I got was really good. The eggplant had more of a kick than I expected but it was still good. The bowl itself wasn't spicy and everything together was flavored and tasted great. I'm looking forward to trying this place again the next time I am in Merrifield. Highly recommend checking this place out you won't regret it! read more

Tried my friend's chicken tikka as well which was dry and bland as well. Had the basmati rice/rice noodle base, tomato garlic/taramind chili sauce, sauteed spinach, couple different toppings, and mint cilantro chutney, mango coconut yogurt, and coriander chili chutey. Most places charge $1-2 less for the Veg dishes. The service has been great at times, but recently had a terrible experience. Bad enough that you would consider not returning.
